Where To Eat If You’re Going To The Football

"For those who have no problem leaning against a counter, takeaway container in hand, Peppers & Spice is essential pre-Spurs match. The Caribbean takeaway makes a rich oxtail stew and tender jerk chicken with just a hint of smokiness, primed for fiery homemade jerk sauce on the side. Queues can build up, but arrive an hour or so before kick-off and it’s very much worth it." - jake missing

Peppers & Spice Tottenham - Review - Tottenham - London - The Infatuation

"The Tottenham outpost of Peppers & Spice isn’t dissimilar to its Dalston sibling—it’s still takeaway-only and you should still always get a meat patty to keep you going. But, in our humble opinion, this location of the Caribbean spot is just that little bit tastier. Maybe it’s because we’ve never had to queue for as long. Or maybe it’s because our football allegiances mean our expectations are unfairly lower in this area. But the jerk chicken has always been that bit more tender and the jerk sauce fully popping with scotch bonnet. Locals probably feel the same: this tiny takeaway shop is never without a queue. We never thought we’d say it but… Tottenham is the one in this case." - Jake Missing

Peppers & Spice is not nice Unfortunately I hate leaving bad reviews but I’m very disappointed. I’ve been going to peppers for over 20 years so it saddens me to have to leave this review. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR FOOD? They upgraded the shop but downgraded the food. I ordered escovitch the staff member asked what’s that? I opened my container to my surprise it wasn’t what I ordered instead I got what’s supposed to be steamed fish big disappointment. Lacked spice and seasoning. We also got oxtail my daughter said it’s the worst she’s ever had. Bring back the old chef and staff that actually k ow what they are doing.

Terrible service , staff was so unbothered and kept picking at little things before taking order . Waited 15 minutes . The patties are not even patties , they lack the colour and look more like pastry and taste horrible ,

My husband brought a meal from this shop a few days ago. It was the worst west Indian food we’ve eaten in a long while, complete waste of money. The oxtail was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The fried chicken lacked flavour and the macaroni cheese was also salty. The only thing that tasted ok was the coleslaw. My husband also ordered a Guinness punch. I have never tasted a Guinness punch like it. It was watered down to the point it tasted like a milky watery liquid with barely any taste of Guinness. I don’t know what’s happened to this shop but we certainly will not be going there again. The standard of the food was poor and the Guinness punch was shameful. Note to self, cook your own food and make your own Guinness punch.

28th March I had the jerk fish with rice and peas and was pleasantly surprised to find okro (okra) among the vegetables in the sauce. The food tasted just right. Not over-seasoned. Thank you!

So to start off, the flavour of the red pea soup was nice. Good seasoning but there was just not enough of the actual soup . The ratio of soup to kidney beans was not good. Soooo many kidney beans and hardly enough liquid gravy. I was sick and so excited to get some soup but if they add more soup and less beans it would be better.

To the owner, Owner and chef could do better and cater for Muslim customers as well. That not only means halal meat but ALL THE SEASONINGS. Can the owner sit with the chef please, please and review ingredients i.e like there’s the use HALAL soya sauce or better still use browning. Chef can you please make your own Mayonnaise to put in the potato salad as Spirit Vinegar has alcohol. This is just a few swap that can be implemented. There’s a whole more customers/that Peppers can attract/cheaper prices + good food = more profits. Where’s Ann Marie, these days. Experience staff get cues moving quickly. Serve some good ital food as well as veggies are healthy and very very cheap on a cheaper menu Some ideas on getting more customers and increase profit margin. Bring back the £1.00 patty, please. Customer of 15+ years.

Easily the best Caribbean flavours in north east London. My go to takeaway hands down.
