3/15/25 - tried this restaurant for the first time and it was awesome; arrived right before closing but accommodated well: oxtails, cornbread, plantains, cabbage, potato salad, rice and beans. Great Jamaican cuisine

I was so happy to drive from San Pedro Ca to buy 4 plates I could have cried once I brought the food home …Wayyyyyy to much Salt my rice was nasty the cabbage was hard. My oxtails was all fat no meat my husband had curry goat it made his blood pressure go up the potatoe salad was from the grocery store I’m sorry to say but there pulling one over on ppl the food is trash

I ordered the chicken curry and received a lot of food. It was very good and had lots of flavors. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something different. Enjoy!

I unexpectedly drove past this place, and after having a hard time finding good authentic tasting Jamaican food I am happy to have found this place. I got the stew chicken small plate (regretted not getting the large) and it was good. Festival and plantain were cooked well and I definitely want to try more of their items. The pineapple-ginger juice is very tasty (but VERY strong ginger taste if you’re not into it). I gave them four stars because post mates and food delivery orders are prioritized so in-person orders take time (30-40 minutes). Thankfully it was worth the wait. The menu advertises another store opening much closer in Long Beach and I am definitely looking forward to that location. Good eats!

How your meat dry and it has gravy. The entire meal was dry I had the beef. My meat was dry, the plantains were dry. The rice was dry. My friend had oxtails. That was dry too anddd not that flavorful. Imagine eating Popeyes biscuits with no drink. Yeah.

Great food customer service is okay 4/5 and u can call and order in your food before you arrive the have Android pay or apple using square pay and the atmosphere is cool and relaxed not really spacious but still comfortable. Have a tv In there with a speaker. Very busy so definitely call ahead

This place was amazing. Staff was friendly. We came at closing, but the service was amazing. The portion was large for what you paid for . I definitely recommend this place food I'd delicious.

Curry Goat is my favorite menu item that I order and it never dissapoints. Thick, spicy and generous serving of tender meat is included in the meal along with rice and peas, cabbage and fried plaintains. Recommend the jerk chicken meal as well, price is reasonable and the portions are generous. Parking can be a challenge in the evening and on weekends, however the wait is worth it. Great place for Belizean food.

Called ahead and ordered the jerk chicken entree with stewed beans & white rice, potato salad, plantains, and cabbage. The jerk chicken was a little dry but packed a lot of flavor with a good amount of heat. Not too spicy though. Plantains were good, could use some more caramelization. The potato salad and cabbage were a good contrast to the flavorful chicken as they weren't too intense. They also included festival bread which I didn't know came with it. It kind of tasted like a cross between corn bread and funnel cake. You get a good amount of food for a solid price! The girl who took my order was very nice on the phone and in person. The inside looks cozy and apparently they have karaoke and open mic night on Saturdays, which sounds fun. There were also two little tables outside, so it's nice they have that option. Parking lot is small but free. I think Yelp hours are slightly wrong so I posted a pic of their signage about hours.

Parking is tight here. Only saw like 8 spots here with multiple businesses in this little plaza. I checked in and they offer a free soda, but NO ONE KNEW about it. I guess no one uses Yelp out here? Lol I had to put them up on game about Yelp apparently. She honored the free soda but it only for CANNED words. Keep that in mind They didn't have ginger beer, so I bought an iced tea instead. God came out pretty quick. Ordered sure chicken with cabbage and plantains. Loved the gravy! So tasty! Also had a chicken Jamaican patty.... Scrumptious! Apparently they have open mic night karaoke on Sat nights 9pm-11pm

Local mom n pop place with authentic Jamaican flavors and generous portions. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The aesthetic is typical of a family owned business but what it lacks in ambiance, it makes up for it with the food. Will definitely be coming back again when I have a craving for it!

Love Them! Excellent Food, the oxtail was perfect and the rice was epic. The service is on point and I can't wait to try the other menu items.

Literally, want to give the restaurant no stars. I placed my order at 12:34 via DoorDash. The order had a delivery time of 1:15-1:20pm. I called at 1 PM just to make sure they had the order correctly because I requested only cabbage & NO rice and peas. 3 Dashers went by to pick up the food, and it still wasn't ready. By 2:15 PM I was growing concerned. I called the restaurant at 2:30 PM and was met with extreme rudeness by the person on the other end . I asked what was the reason it was taking over two hours to make my order and she responded " am I the cook? Why are you asking me that" completely ghetto with no concern I never even would have imagined someone like this to work in the food industry. Why are you even picking up the phone if you don't plan on answering questions about a person order who has been waiting over two hours. I wasn't rude or anything so I should not have met with that response. Additionally, there was a lot of cursing going on in the background so I can tell the care for the food is just not there. She passed the phone to the lady who I had spoke to at 1 PM who said she would try to make my order to give to the Dasher that is been waiting which is the 3rd Dasher that went to pick up my food. (Note: they had told him that it's still going to take 30 additional minutes.) Upon arrival of my food all items were incorrect. There were four oxtails when I ordered a large. There were rice and peas when I ordered only cabbage. I will never order from here again. Awful service awful food.

The feeling you get when you visit a restaurant of this type and you have actually been to the country that serves the same exact food. I've been to Belize three times already and that's enough to pick up the seasonings that are used in the food. The different dishes from this location tastes very good and it gives me the nostalgia from visiting Belize. I wanted their stew chicken with rice and beans and their potato salad. The beans were a bit salty in my opinion. I also prefer my potato salad cold so the next time I order I would be asking for it to be put on the side. Another thing I did notice, is that due to the amount of sauce that they put on the stew chicken it tends to make the styrofoam container soggy and so after having it in the fridge I notice a hole in it. So again, when I visit I'm going to ask them to be light on the juice. Other than that I have no complaints. This is an awesome location. I didn't go personally, I actually ordered through Uber Eats and of course the driver was very timely and the food was hot and well proportioned. Speaking of portions, they aren't stingy at all!! I would definitely be ordering from this location again.

The best in town hands down. When I say they don't miss my favorite dish is the brown chicken stew so good

In the argument for best Jamaican food in LA, imo. Whether it be the jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtails, the patties, no matter what it is, it's going to be great. I have yet to have a subpar meal from here.

The food taste amazing! And the prices are unbeatable! I would give 5 stars but they always run out of food and it's a very long wait time! I drive over 40 minutes to get the food so it's definitely worth the money and wait! But it's lacking in the ambiance. It's definitely a "To Go" spot.

Stopped by to support this black owned business and kinda disappointed the veggie plate I got was super simple the food was just alright. And the service was kinda wack only one cook and only one cashier so you can imagine the food took forever to be ready. Expect At least a 30 min or longer wait.

Best brown stew chicken in the CITY !! How Everything on the plate BOMB ? best rice & peas & cabbage & the plantains melt in your mouth !! 10/10 Get the large so you can have some for now and some for later , THANK ME LATER

Ordered short ribs received all fat and bones. I believe this is really oxtails..disappointed!

I love me some peppers but I had to Yelp y'all cause they gone see this. Food is good! The only reason why I gave them 3 stars because they rice be hard asf. And don't nothing turn me off more then some bomb chicken and hard rice. Also all my plates from here is dry asf. Put some gravy on my rice or some. Service coo. Prices FIRE . They lowered their prices because of the other jamaican/ belizean places around . Why get oxtails at 1 place for 30$ when you can go to peppers and get the same exact for 20$. Food still good! And great portions. Just soften that fire and put some gravey on it lol.

Peppers had a few disappointments on my recent visit. While the food was decent, I was disappointed to find out after paying that they were out of cabbage and jerk sauce, which is a staple for Jamaican cuisine. Additionally, they were also out of Jamaican patties. Overall, a bit of a letdown. Rating: 3 stars.

Every time I come here they are out of goat curry around 2pm onwards on weekdays. It's disappointing because I travel a bit for the food. Also asked for ginger beer and I got pineapple drink and when I said it's not correct the cashier said "oh I thought you changed it?" ? They won't acknowledge any errors. Pre COVID I came here a lot and it was different really loved it. Now the vibe has changed completely. I used to recommend this place too not sure I can anymore as they don't always have stock of goat meat for customers.

Really wanted to like this place. The women who was serving was great but they took 45 mins to prepare my food I ordered a small jerk chicken. There were out of sea food, curry chicken, and Pattie's and it was only 12:00. When the Pattie's did come out they only made like five and someone bought them all. The rice and beans was mushy and ok. The jerk checked was good the cabbage was hard. I won't be coming back. Sad because it's conveniently on my why home from work

They don't cook properly stuff smells good but ate there for the first time today got the shrimp curry looked great except shrimp wasn't de shelled nor were they deveined everyone knows you devein shrimp if not you get sick it was a deal breaker for me cabbage was fire rice and beans majority undercooked crunchy and grainy... waited 20 minutes for shrimp you would think it all will be done properly but guess not sad sad experience been waiting to eat there sense a kid and was let down.. would I dabble again? I highly doubt it

I ordered the oxtail with gravy on rice and peas. Everything was extremely salty and absent of any other flavors.

We ordered delivery, jerk chicken and ox tail. Was pretty fast, pretty big box of food, love it. The flavor is pretty rich, we liked both dishes. The fried donut is so good, plantain is also great, steamed cabbage also really good. Recommend! Will come back!

Came back in just to see... if any positive changes.. They worked so hard to remove pictures of THEIR FOOD off my original post because it was so disgusting! And #YELP help them do it. So I figured they must of did a full 360 renovation....... So I come back in just to see if any changes. Still rude service.. days old food being served and obviously no management! I know I'm not lying look at all the low ratings. And the high ratings, as I said are friends of the owners and her many psychotic, threatening grown adult children! If u just need to fill your tummy... come here. Food is A1 fr ~ An LA staple I been coming back to for years . They're real people so be a real person and your experience should be nice ! I would just say for them to update their open days / hours 'cause I've fasho driven over 30 mins on a Sunday to see they're closed ~ multiple times. Also their venmo is down so just pay in person and avoid technology shake-ups. Best jamaican i've had in LA tho

It started when I called on the phone they answer the phone very unprofessional no customer service skills I ordered a vegetable patty and a chicken patty. Sad to say I never found the chicken in there just something like a lot of gravy . and the vegetable one had little vegetables but a lot of thick crust not familiar with type of crust but OK. ....Please work on those things leave me a comment I'll come back and try your food again hopefully next time give you five stars thank you

It so delicious but the wait was sooo long worth the wait if you have patience. It was like whoever the young women where tending the front where forced to work there. Don't know? maybe a smile or we are doing our best, please take a seat, sorry for the Inconvenience we are under staffed etc...ease the pain of waiting. Other than that if you're willing to endure the wait it's good. Also not everything g in the menu is posted here also maybe notifying when you run out of the food item is helpful too.

Always veggie plate with some jerk sauce over my rice and veg Patties. Sorrel or pina/ginger drink.

I ORDER MY FOOD ON DOORDASH ,and it has been an hour and my dasher said that he is still waiting for my food .THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!

HATE leaving a bad review but I have to do it. I was promised that my wait time would be 25mins. I am currently writing this review inside the restaurant after waiting over 1hr and I have still not received my food. I've watched multiple orders go out the door for doordash etc. But no food for my hungry ass today.... I've counted at least 10 orders since the 25 mins past. I remember why I choose one of the many other Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants in the area and not this location. It's good food but you might starve. *Note : My boyfriend wants me to leave a worse review than this because he is completely unsatisfied and called my review "too nice". Safe to say we won't be back again.

This was suppose to be a two meat plate with brown stew chicken oxtails potato salad rice and peas and plantains and this is what I got for $35 19.50 for the plate plus Uber eats fees I called the restaurant to make them aware of the mistake and to see how they could make things right but they didn't seem to care this is all bad smh this will be my first and last time dealing with Peppers because my first experience didn't go so well I guess I'll have to take my money as a loss

Clean place, great location with Delicious and fresh food but terrible experience and service. It's so sad to openly admit this because these restaurants are the types I live to see thrive. I called to place an order ahead of time and it was busy. I walked and and was the only customer so I called to test the phones again and it was clear the young lady working the front was not interested in working. I ended up ordering in person and decided to run a quick local errand while waiting for the order which I was told would be 20 minutes. I returned an hour later and it wasn't ready so I kindly asked to cancel as they had not started. As the manager came out and told me to give him a few more minutes, others came in and began to complain about the wait.

I have been sitting in my car for almost an hour waiting for food that I ordered by calling in before I arrived. At this point I don't care how the food comes taste...I will not be coming back! Total disregard for people's time. Spend your money elsewhere!!!

food is good but the wait is not good. they told me 25 mins for my food and it turned out to be a whole HOUR !!!! if food is going to take that long day that so you give the customer a option to say yes or no to the food. getting food wasn't the only thing I had in my agenda of the day.

I saw this place one day about 2 weeks ago as I was driving by. I decided to get lunch yesterday. Two of us ordered, I was not very hungry so I ordered a couple of chicken patties. We also got a goat plate. Everything was outstanding and the service was great. I really liked that the woman at the front showed every customer their food before putting it in the bag. I will definitely be back!

Peppers is delicious and may have the best Jamaican patties in Los Angeles including their callaloo patty. Food tastes even better after 2 days especially the curry goat. Also, Pepper's is great with delivery and delivers on time!

The reviews had me a liitle discouraged but I decided to try them for myself and I'm glad I did. I ordered to large oxtails plate and it was delicious . The oxtails were tender, the plantains were amazing not dry at all, festival bread is always great, the beans and rice were a little dry but if you mix it with the oxtails juice it's perfect.

Best spot in LA hands down!!!! A must try if you're in the city, everything on the menu is incredible

Hands down, the best jamaican food out here! I came down from Santa Barbara with my family and we dont have jamaican food up there, I searched and found this place. We ordered ackee and salt fish to share since we were heading to a party. The chef was generous enough with the portioning, we ate and even had some to take with us. Am definitely coming back for more on my way back. The patties are to die for!!!

So the family was craving Jamaican food and we were in the LA area found this place and said let's give it a try. Cute small mom and pop place felt like it was homemade cooking. The food was great everyone loved it... my only complaint is I wish they gave more festival bread with the meal (one is just not enough). But I'll go back there again made our belly happy!

I haven't dined in or picked up, the food was brought to me. But wow, everything I tried was excellent. I tried the Jerk Chicken which may be a little spicy for some but it's perfect for me since I can handle some pretty spicy foods. It's got wonderfully tasting jerk sauced and it's smoked so that combination of preparation makes it bomb-diggity. The Oxtails were perfect (first time trying Oxtails). The goat was cooked so well and flavored so nicely. The shrimp - I have not complaints. Their plantains are great and their rice is also a hit. I will definitely eat this tasty food again!

All I can say is WOW!!!! Never had ox tails or Jamaican food before so I ordered take out and the food had so much flavor and the ox tails had a lot of meat and just the whole plate was a 10 out of 10. I wasn't sure what it was but I think it was a biscuit, omg that was so good haha I almost forgot I even had it because it was the first thing I ate. But yeah thanks!!! You guys made my day haha

The Jerk Chicken Rice and beans, festival bread plantain was all old a dry. Like it was reheated over and over for days. The rice was very very hard. The short ribs was little small chopped bits. Obviously old. The cabbage was old. If you are selling old food means you are not getting much business probably because you are selling old food. Dont make as much. Get your recipes together. It is a shame that you would sale this food to people. Disgusted. A waste of money.
