Peppersmash - A Cocktail Kitchen

I chose this place due to the cute drinks that were on their site. The bartender (she was sweet) denied having the product nor particular alcohol to make the drinks on the site. So, I decided on what’s pictured. I ordered buffalo wings.. no fries included but it does come with ranch, a couple of carrots, and celery. The music selection is very 2010 Dallas, which I guess is what most of the patrons want to hear. The bathroom was clean, there is no cover charge, and I felt safe. There is security throughout the building as well as outside. Would I return? Unsure.

This place has amazing drink specials. The service was great; however, on the one day we went they didn’t have a kitchen staff so we couldn’t try any of their food. I’ll have to come and visit on another day. It’s interesting that they only had one person to work the kitchen.

The owner Jason was amazing!! Alert and Brock😍🥰 they’re phenomenal bartenders, we had such an amazing time celebrating my sisters birthday. This was a amazing!! Check them out every Tuesday & Wednesday!

Excellent spot for Happy Hour or just a quick drink. I’ve never had the same drink twice here. Recommend letting the bartenders do their thing — just tell them what type of liquor or drink you normally prefer. Fun to watch them work, as well.

We went to celebrate our friend’s birthday and had a great time. The only downside was there was a sewer odor that night. I’ve been there a few times and never experienced it before so not sure what was going on that night. Drinks are reasonably priced. There is limited seating if you get there late but the music is good and it gets pretty crowded the later it gets.

Stopped in to get a bite to eat but the kitchen was closed (9:30 pm). Yep, get it because it’s the night before Thanksgiving. We ordered 2 drinks…Patron Margarita and Blue moon. My friend visiting from Atlanta, who is a well known DJ said his drink had very little Patron. I took a sip and it tasted like a sour candy jaw breaker. For $25, which they absurdly auto charged 20%, I would think they would have made some better drinks with at least some alcohol. I can’t recommend coming here for drinks.

The service, atmosphere and drinks are perfect. The night I went every table had reservations though. Only area for those who walk in is a small table island where you stand. I didn’t try the food. If I do get a table reservation next time I’m in the area I will update this review. I can recommend this place for their unique drinks for now.

One of the must visits in the area wait staff is on top of their game and the selection of drinks has something for everyone. The food goes well with the drink menu and there is a positive fun vibe all around.

It was date night, and we wanted to grab a few drinks after dinner. It was a cute small bar, and pretty empty (we went early like 6ish). I asked the bartender for a drink recommendation after being told they were out of 3 of the ones I wanted to try, but none of the drinks disappointed! They were good and strong. Just disappointed by being out of 3 of the few drinks on their cocktail menu and by being charged an extra $3 to put the watermelon drink in a martini glass when I would've drank it out of a solo cup.

What in the actual fuck is "baby's gotta eat"???? Gratuity is added after 8pm? When was that told or posted to the customers?? When we asked about prices on the drinks, our bartender (Mia m) didn't know the drink prices and said "ahh they are all about the same" I wish I took pictures of the half filled espressos. We were going to tip very good, as we always do considering we know many staff that work here but unfortunately after that I can't say that I will or ever return here. This place is right across the street from us and we have brought friends here but never again.We come b/c it's close but now we will drive somewhere else just because of this. Tried to give it another chance but yea nope. Again you are a professional establishment in a high valued part of the metroplex and you have "Babys gotta eat". I mean come on. Thanks Mia, you motivated us to look for a different spot.

I was at this location last night for the fight. I attempted to use the men's bathroom and was followed in by a staff of the restaurant. He told me because i was a woman (huge assumption) i was not allowed. I was in the stall and he stuck his eye inbetween the slat and refused to leave me alone. I came out after he would not leave. I went into the woman's bathroom and as i was walking it the staff told me "you're trash". When i was done using the bathroom he was waiting for me. I asked his name and told him I'm reporting him for harassment. He refused to give me his name and then watched me flag down two other employees asking them. Both told me they didn't know his name as he was a new employee. I noticed this guy head toward the door and i knew he was going to tell the security to kick me out. I grabbed my stuff and went outside. When i tried to speak to him and calmly let him know how wildly inappropriate his behavior was he yelled at me. Unfortunately after sharing this incident with a friend she said she had a similar encounter near the bathroom a year prior. WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS PLACE!!!!!!???? I'm so disgusted

Minimal seating, limited food menu, loud music. Drinks were okay. Don't get the cotton candy (recommended by the server). It looks cute but it tasted of cheap Vodka only. Couldn't even taste the sugary cotton candy that filled the martini glass. It doesn't start happening until around 11 pm. If you want a place to drink and dance, this is it.

I serviced this company earlier...was very nice..I was offered a complimentary beer which I had a drink of.. however upon pouring out the rest because I had to drive I was attacked by the tall skinny "security guard".. I was choked and physically thrown over the low fence in the front of the address. As I carry...he lucky I didn't shoot him as I very much I felt my life was in danger.... someone needs to get that guy some help....owner has been advised.

Very chill and fun place. It's a little piece of Bourbon street in multicultural Plano. Food is good and staff is very friendly.

Omg!! Asked the bartender, Jay to surprise me with his favorite drink....blew me away with his vodka concoction (my choice ) LOVE the vibe of this place but more suited for someone under 35....

Ladies Night Out!!! A few coworkers, friends, and myself all decided to meet up for drinks, food, and quality R&B music. I arrived earlier to secure a couple of tables for us, glad I did because a few were already "reserved" for a private party. Our waitress Amber was very polite, friendly, and attentive. I checked in on Yelp which offered me a free appetizer (fries), so I presented the offer to her once she returned with my drink. Sadly, she informed me that the establishment hadn't offered food in a while due to losing the contact with the restaurant. I told her it wasn't a big deal, but she mentioned it to the manager. Who in return came over to apologize & offered me a free shot instead. SCORE!!! He was sweet and energetic as well... THE ENTIRE SCENE WAS A VIBE. H.H. ended at 7p.m. so, our first round of drinks were cheaper then the rest of the night. The atmosphere was chill, D.J. was on POINT and since there wasn't a kitchen management allowed outside food to be brought into the bar. The only down side is the drinks were over priced for the portion size and parking was hard to find. However I'd definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a chill place to listen to ol' skool R&B. Ronnie's pick

Says Open Now 4 to 12 am o Internet this was on Valentines. Rushed to beat the crowd got there at 5:15 VALENTINES. Door open but could not find anyone. Finally bartender comes from the back says "No we are not open we do not open until 6pm". I was so disappointed went to eat at Half Shells which had folks all night long. Walked by this place about 8 pm empty. You could have had someone update your actual hours on the web site.

Terrible service went there one time and never went back. I had to ask the bartender to make us a drink to then find out that she was outside on the phone....

One star. I didn't even get to use my check in for the free fries because their service was horrible. No one greeted us when we sat at the bar and it was almost empty. It was a group of girls of 4 and that's it sitting down at the bar. We sat for minutes and it wasn't until we literally stared the bar girl down that she came and asked us what we wanted. We didn't have a menu to reference so when I asked for one she pointed to a QR code that hardly scanned. We left and went to half shell across the street which has a BOMB happy hour and great atmosphere. Won't be back here. With the pandemic, i care where I spend my money and it won't be anywhere with poor service or nasty attitudes. If you're black, don't go back during the day. I heard this place was black owned but I highly doubt it as I saw not one black worker, but even if it is: HORRENDOUS service. If you go to half shell, ask for Rudy! He was so sweet and literally turned my sour attitude into sweet as soon as he greeted us at the door since we were treated like crap at pepper smash!

Smoked Makers Mark and Dr. Pepper! Smash! Yea- this place is legit. You read that right. They smoked some wood on the bourbon, blowing all this smoke into a jar of Makers on the rocks. It was all sealed up for me in a mason jar with all that smoke in there, where I let it sit for a few moments. The bartender walks me through opening it up, releasing the smoke like a genie, and pouring in the Dr Pepper- one of the real cane sugar Dublin Dr Peppers, that paired perfectly with the smokiness and the bourbon. All of it was an excellent drink that I'd only get one of- it's half presentation on the drink. Not every place is willing to set fire to things to make your next drink! These guys were all about it. Turns out, the Smoked Makers & Dr Pepper isn't the signature drink here, it's a spicy margarita kinda drink. The decor is a bit dimly lit, we sat at the bar. The bartender was a bit dismissive about stuff, but we still got drinks quickly.

We went in for a drag brunch and the drag show was amazing! At first we throughly maybe they were short staffed but it isn't a big venue at all so it seemed to be not good waitresses. We ordered our food and drinks and the drinks came out no problem. They were strong and super good. However we waited the whole show and only one order of quesadillas came out. Our waitress said to us 4 times "sorry they are almost out". The drag show was 2 hours long and we could get the simple chicken quesadilla or loaded fries. Even the tables around us had to wait an hour just for chips and guacamole or chips and salsa. The menu seemed super simple, so I am not sure why it took forever. They did take it off the bill which is normal, I mean we didn't receive the item. Overall, it seemed like they weren't ready for this event. They seemed overwhelmed when it was maybe 40 people in there. I would go again but not during an event.

This place is trying so hard to turn themselves into some fancy exclusive club but it's just another shitty bar with unbearably loud music. Oh but don't dance to that music or they'll say you're drunk and kick you out without letting you finish the drinks you've JUST ordered. And then add automatic gratuity to that bill. This place is a scam honestly. Coming from someone in the hospitality industry, y'all need to do better.

I stopped at Peppersmash on 9/23 with a friend and much to my surprise, I had a completely different experience. The gentleman who now owns this location was delightful, kind, and enthusiastic. I am glad I took a chance and went back because the experience this time was night and day. All of the bartenders were attentive and on the ball. It definitely had a vibe that I didn't experience with the prior management. Congratulations and good luck with your new endeavor. Looks like you're off to a great start. Stacy

I love the vibe at Pepper Smash!!! The last time that I arrived they were playing the game & had a DJ. Woot woot!!! They do have Saturday and Sunday brunch with $15 carafe flights which include a bottle of champagne, pineapple, orange & cranberry juice. I think the individual mimosas were $3. On days where there isn't a DJ, they also have a jukebox.

Let me start by saying I am EXTREMELY lenient when it comes to service and always attempt to be positive with my reviews....however, this review will not reflect that. My party of 3 stopped in before heading over to a movie to grab a quick snack and a beer. For my "too long, don't read" folks, the food selection is minimal, the service is horrible, and the beer tastes like beer. For those wanting some detail, let me start by saying the minimal menu of food is full of flavor and yummy bar eats to go with that Dallas Blonde you just can't get enough of. They have a WIDE range of liquors and beers and the prices aren't any more expensive then the next door Mi Cocina or down the street in the other Legacy shops. However, the service is what's going to tank this place. The server started by avoiding our table for 5 + minutes before even making eye contact or saying hello. After waving her over we were finally able to communicate that we were on a tight timeline and would like to place our beer and food order at the same time. Even though put out, the server proceeded to take both our drink and snack order. When asked about what beers they had on draft, her response, verbatim, was "we've got the usuals: wheat, lager, you know" to which we were dumbfounded. When asked what the lager was she responded with "red" as they was enough detail to form an opinion. THEN, after communicating our timeline we watched as the kitchen staff and the bartenders played "pass the buck" with who would deliver our food. We watched it sit in the warming window 9 minutes (we timed it) before it was delivered. Mind you, I'm aware that staffing during this time can be difficult at the least- but with 3 kitchen staff and 2 bartenders attending to less then 8 patrons, I expected more. All this to say, food was great. Beer was cold on a hot day. However, don't waste your time. The pub behind the movie theater is a much better use of your time and money.

The drinks were cute but service was slow. I wouldn't recommend for a celebration, maybe if your seeming aesthetic this would be a great vibe!

Terrible service, overpriced horrible drinks. Ruined our evening. Not welcoming at all. Had a cocktail recommended by server and it was undrinkable. Waste of time and money. Smoked bourbon Dr Pepper is a mistake.

The bartenders are great . The DJ is awesome if you like hip hop. , Afro beats , and Latin music . I came here on a Thursday evening and stayed way longer than I expected to ! Lol if you like mezcal, try the love thy neighbor . If you're into frozen drinks, get the mango bango.

Place is rubbish. Was walking the strip and came across this place, curious i tried asking the door men a question. One of the doormen in a baseball hat with very female energy (can tell he was raised by a single mom) sees me in my gucci slides and out of envy or jealousy snickers at his other doorman, motioning at my slides. As soon as i walk up to them he was quick to tell me "we don't allow slides". Taken aback, cos i wondered what made this dummy think i wanted to come into your shit club. The other doorman Jeff tried his best at being professional, which i truly appreciated. I asked my questions and later returned to check out the spot. As i returned the doorman starts again to berate me, calling me the N word claiming i have an attitude. an attitude, cos I wasn't tolerating disrespect, from a lowlife bouncer? Dude claims I was taking his disrespect personally. My brain took a quick nosedive at the garbage this lil boy uttered. I walked in, only after Jeff told him to chill and in less than 2 mins walked out. I saw all I needed to see. This place is trash/garbage/rubbish. For someone who worked as doorman at clubs in Europe, Los Angeles, and NYC/LI we don't treat paying customers like this anywhere. I guess the only time you treat your customers this way is when they are black like you in your fancy strip mall TX bars. What a joke of place.

$27 for some unbalanced gross drinks!! Pear and berry drink was just awful. If you are claiming to be a mixology bar, you shouldn't have basic cocktails taste like syrup mixed with battery acid. The dancing was fun and music was pretty good but won't be returning. I don't want another headache from badly crafted beverages.

Avoid this place like the plague! They automatically add a 20% gratuity to your bill and don't bother telling you so that they can get double tipped. Super shady. NEVER going there again.

Cutting to the chase!!! I went to this place this past weekend to celebrate a birthday with friends. We had a few drinks and where charged accordingly (80.52) with tip. Today another charge hits my account for (42.31). I have made several attempts to contact the owner with no response. Needles to say I want be back. After reading a few previous review this is not the first time this type of issue has occurred. I advise anyone who does not want to get extra charges to stray away from this establishment.

This is my friend's favorite bar, so I gave it a go. I didn't order a drink though, I ordered a meal--Chicks and Waffles. It was super tasty, a little too tasty for my liking. I like my food to be perfectly seasoned, not overly so. Beyond that though, the seasoning was good. Texture was right. I could've used a little more maple syrup, but I'm sure if I had requested for it I would've got it. Service was stellar. Our server was obviously quite busy, but he was super attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty.

The bar tender who I think was actually the manager helped us. He was very friendly and nice. He made our visit pleasant. We just had a drink or two and left but I like the environment.

Awesome cocktails but average food here. I ordered their old fashioned and I give it a 4/5. For food, I had the chicken and waffles (3/5), beef chili (3/5), and pork belly (3/5). The flavor profile for their food was basically off and therefore, the food didn't taste right. Service was good and the place was clean. Parking can be tricky on a weekend nigh though since this place is located at Shops at Legacy and their are multiple bars and restaurants here. It does have patio seating but very minimal. I can't recommended the food here but the cocktails are spot on. I think it would be a good place to kick it with your friends and have a few drinks since it does have a pretty good vibe inside.

Cute local bar in shops of legacy! I usually use this as my first stop of the night. I'm not sure if they have happy hour or drink specials but their drinks are kinda pricey. Usually the music is good and they also play local games. I love the ring light photo booth. I haven't ate a lot here but if you use the Yelp checkin you get free fries with the purchase of a drink and the fries are good!

This was my second visit...and it was just okay. The drinks are usually the bomb.com but the new bartender dropped the ball. The staff is awesome... I just hope the new team peak soon!!

This was by far the worst bar experience I've ever had. I rarely leave reviews but had to in this case. Upon arrival, I was waiting on my friend to join me and none of the 4 bartenders acknowledged my presence not to even offer a glass of water. After my friend arrived we waited a least another 10 minutes before anyone bothered to assist us. All the staff acted like they'd rather be doing anything besides helping us. The food menu has 5 items on it FIVE!!! We ordered the loaded fries with chicken and they were like eating air, no taste at all. I ordered some fancy strawberry drink and I will admit it was tasty. My friend ordered another type of cocktail in which she took one sip and it was awful. She notified one of the male bartenders about the drink she has and ordered the drink I had. The atmosphere wasn't our type of vibe either and along with the service we didn't stay long. The actually charged my friend for the one drink she sent back because it was awful. When she asked the female bartender about it she said "we still charge even if you don't like it, sorry" and then she walked off. If the food is going to be awful and the drinks mediocre, the customer service should be excellent, which it definitely was not.

If you are looking for someplace to eat this is not it. This is a spring break bar that serves food. It cannot call itself a restaurant--I hate to think what the place looks like when the bar closes and the ugly lights come on. First sign this was not a restaurant--they don't serve ice tea. Just coke from the bar or a cocktail. Second sign realizing that there are more seats at the bar than there are tables. Third sign was when our boom boom shrimp was delivered--it was boiled shrimp with Siracha sauce on it. Have anyone ever heard of boiled shrimp being used for boom boom shrimp? Bizarre. We ordered flatbreads which tasted a lot like Cicis pizza and left.

Oh my goodness I love this place! Been here many times. Guess I need to start checking in more. Saturday nights are the nights to go. Ridiculous (as in awesome) DJ. The music alone will have you dancing and grooving all night long. As for the libations. Try them all. Nothing disappoints. Right now there is a check in where you get free fries so take advantage of it while it lasts! All the food is cooked fresh and made with love. But yes, if you like to let loose and have a good time this is the spot to go on the weekends. Not sure at all really how it is during the week. I imagine it is just as awesome. So glad Plano has places like this to shake things up a bit. The Lord knows they need it!

Ended up stopping by here on a whim this past Friday night to celebrate a job promotion with friends. We all grew up in Frisco and to our surprise we walked into a "mini class reunion" so we're spending money enjoying great drinks- we even knew the bartenders,, great vibe, good music & old friends... BUT THEN as we were leaving a close friend of ours goes and speaks to someone we know that just so happen to be the DJ... & one of Pepper Smash's bouncers who had been drinking, escalated the situation to a level that was completely OUT OF HAND. Tne bouncer was aggressive and proceeded to make threats to cause deadly harm. Which made the other men in our party upset and the situation damn near turned into a brawl. We are all high level professionals & to have this experience in this place of business was embarrassing and unprofessional. I'll Never be back to pepper smash. I hope they choose to hire bouncers that don't come to work inebriated as it alters their ability to make sound decisions on the job. .. had this bouncer been sober the situation would've never reached that level of ignorance and probably could've been de-escalated and not turned violent.

My husband and I were looking for drinks, and Pepper Smash did not disappoint. We ordered the Vanilla Old Fashioned and the Fire Smoked Dr Pepper. Both drinks were strong and prepared with flair: well worth the over-$10 price tag. It was pretty empty on Sunday afternoon. A few tables were enjoying brunch outside. So, our service was fairly good. Overall, we would come back here again to try more items off their menu.

It was so good we went twice in one day! Neat atmosphere, friendly bartenders, great music. We went in for drinks during happy hour and split some of their sweet potato fries. Went back after dinner for more drinks and dessert! Their Pineapple Express cocktail was fantastic. If we are ever up that way again, we will be going back to Pepper Smash!

I always go here for the nightlife. It does get pretty cramped at night, so come early if you want to sit. They play hip hop/rnb music which is right up my ally. The drinks are pretty reasonable and I've never had any issues with the service. It's a nice place to have a drink, listen to music, and dance a little. Next time I will definitely try the food. The only "complaint" I have is that I wish the space was larger due to the amount of visitors on the weekends.

Big bag of Meh! The one positive of this place was the pimento cheese. The nachos, the shishito peppers, meh. The drinks, just meh. If you are easily impressed by smoke in your drink, this may just be the place for you. Biggest complaint; fruit flies. They were everywhere. We said something to the server and it was almost like they ignored our comments. I won't be returning. Just nothing to even call this place average.

Poor service....worst fries ever. I arrived and sat on patio around 3:30 on Sunday. A few people at the bar but not crowded. I told the hostess (who was also the waitress) that I was going to sit on the patio. After waiting 5-10 minutes and tired of waiting, I went inside and asked for a beer and a water. When it came I ordered the beef sliders per her recommendation. The sliders were decent albeit pricey ($14 for 3 small sliders.) They came with potato string french fries which were dripping with grease and limp/soggy/nasty. After never being checked on and having to walk in to get a water refill, I also asked for the bill. The two girls were at the far end of the bar playing on their phone and acted upset I interrupted them. When the bill was brought to me, I told the waitress the sliders were ok (as I was still eating them) and pointed out how nasty the fries were. She acknowledged they were bad but never offered to remake or anything. I was on my phone before I realized she took my plate and left the bill. I still had one slider left! Won't be coming back here for afternoon bite to eat.

Came here on Friday for a work happy hour and it seemed they were short staffed. Our waitress was a hard commodity to come by. After waiting 20 min, she arrived to take my order. I mentioned I had checked in to receive the complimentary fries and she quickly replied that the restaurant no longer honors this checkin. I pointed out that it still remained on yelp. I ordered my drink and she then disappeared to see if they would honor it. She returned minutes later with my fries and someone at the table ordered the Pineapple Express (a more complicated drink to make than mine). She returned with the Pineapple Express but no strawberry fields. Several minutes later, she returned with my drink. After 30 min or so, I ordered the Pineapple Express. That drink came quicker. When it was time to leave, we were left without a waitress to get our checks. We had to flag down another server to get her to come back to the table. It was then another 30 min before we were all paid out. In summary, the drinks and fries were great, the service... not so much

Would definitely recommend Peppersmash to anyone looking to have a fun evening with great vibes and service! The atmosphere of this place is super fun and the food is amazing. Our bartender Hope was awesome! She was so sweet and made sure we had the best experience. She was very knowledgeable with any questions we had, plus the drinks were just delicious. Can't wait to go back

There is outdoor and indoor seating. There is also tv's at the bar to watch any of the games. There wasn't a hostess at the front but the bartender was able to help us. The atmosphere is great here the music playing was great and it was at a perfect volume level. I could hear the person across from me. The food selection isn't to large but the whiskey meltdown was really good. I got the singeria, cotton candy martini, and pear &berry drinks. They were strong and tasted great. Our waitress, Amy, was really nice and made us feel welcome. She was great. I would recommend this place for a girls night or a date night.

I love the ambiance but I wasn't impressed by the triple explosion or the froyo with yogurt liquor. The triple explosion was wayyyy too sweet. It tasted like drinking strawberry jam with a shot of vodka. It was too much vodka. The froyo was too creamy. It lost the froyo texture and it was more like frothy whipped cream. However, the environment is really nice and it's a great place to grab drinks and hang out with friends.
