Peppino's Dosa

My family always says this is the best Indian in Massachusetts, and I want to second this!! Everything is delicious, so it's hard to pick my favorites. Of course loved the rava dosa. The achari soya chaap is also incredible. Pictured here is the dahi kadhi special, which was life changing, along with the chai martini!

Incredibly friendly service and recommendations from Savio! The food lived up to Chef Peppino's reputation for wonderful flavors that perfectly compliment each other! Savio recommended the Gobi 65 to us, which absolutely the highlight of the evening! They were very accommodating to our mom's wheelchair as well,despite limited space. Can't say enough good things about the experience!

This restaurant has a unique setup with separate seating areas depending on the menu choice and kitchen. The menu is extensive with a wide range of options to choose from. We tried the Chhole Bhature and noodles. The food was decent overall, the ambience was really nice, and the service was quick. A good spot if you’re looking for variety and a comfortable dining experience.

Amazing food. The best restaurant I've been to since moving here four years ago.The samosa were flaky with some stiffness, freshly made, and nice portion size. The flavor and the seasoning of the dish were so impressive. The staff were very knowledge about the dishes and how they are served in India. Savio, our server, gave us great recommendations, and the different spice levels paired with the variety of dishes. If you are in the area, definitely check them out. You will not be disappointed.

Delicious food and service! Definitely coming back for the dosa night, our wait staff Tejas is awesome and made sure all our requests were accommodated. Large vegetarian selection and fun cocktails too!

We went there for lunch. We ordered paper dosa, medu vada, masala tea, mango lassi, paneer tikka masala dosa, masala dosa, garlic naan and chick pea curry. From food perspective it was great. Only incident I didn’t like was we were asked to move to a different part of the restaurant after started eating. I understand if it was asked before we started eating. But this was a bit unpleasant.

My husband and I love the food here. We have been visiting this restaurant for the last 3+ years and the food has been consistently good. I highly recommend this place for the vegetarian dished- miloni tarkari (the best!), multani paneer, saag, kalonji baingan, and tandoori roti are all tried and loved by us. The recently started a non-vegetarian menu, and we tried it today - laal maas. I tried a new vegetarian dish- kolahpuri paneer (it was ok, nothing special). The staff and our server Savio were very helpful and pleasant to talk to.

Food was really good! The dishes came fast but still with good quality. The waiters and waitresses were kind. And the two rooms are both very calm and they have nice music. Big portions of food too lol.

Very fancy and upscale Indian restaurant! Great staff that is very attentive. Would be a nice spot for a date night, vibes are exactly that! The tandoori chicken was just TOOO good! Delicious masala and it was just cooked perfectly. The dosa was veryyyy crispy and fresh!

OMG yum. New favorite Indian Restaurant. I can't wait till I'm back in Waltham. First of all, I didn't realize it but I got there to order takeout as they were about to be close between lunch and dinner. But they let me order anyway. I tried aloo gobi & veggie pakora and I am all in. I cannot wait to go back and try more. Nice ambiance so will for sure eat in sometime too. Delectable. Fresh. Flavorful. Allergen and vegetarian friendly. Yes please!

We went here during lunch time. The buffet choices didn't look very impressive. So we decided to go a la carte. Food and ambiance were both good. Service was fine until they forgot a dish. Since the started the prep only after our reminder, it came out very late by which time we had lost our appetite! The Achari soya chaap and Khatal Rogan Josh were both scrumptious! Will definitely come back.

Came here during their lunch hours where they have a buffet. The staff were very friendly and available to answer questions. They have street parking. The restaurant was very clean and had a nice bar setup. The buffet had an array of options to choose from. The naan was hot and fresh tasting great with the paneer tikka. It tasted just how my mom makes it. The channa was also very filling. I would love to come back to try their dosa.

Came here without a reservation on a Tuesday evening and were seated promptly. Lovely decor and very helpful staff. Have come here a few more times since my initial review and the food never disappoints! Peppino's Dosa has become my favorite vegetarian Indian restaurant in the area. They also have an adjacent non-vegetarian restaurant next door that we can't wait to try either!

Had a fantastic dinner here and was so happy that they clearly label what's vegan as well as what can be made vegan. Thankfully, a lot of the menu options are veganizable. I really loved everything we ordered from the veggie samosas and pakoras to the dosas and a curry dish. Even the bread had a great texture. My favorite here and must order is definitely the masala dosa and I love the sauces it comes with which enhances its already delectable flavors. I also love the presentation of the dishes and how beautiful and elegant they look. The spice level is great and the staff are attentive and helpful. The restaurant interior has a great ambiance and I love the coconut & fennel seeds on the way out.

This is the best Indian food that I've had as far as I can remember. Right here in Waltham! We ordered dosa masala, lamb korma and chicken tikka masala. Everything was scrumptious and the service is very good as well. We have been there twice and our server manages to make you feel like an honored guest. Highly, highly recommended.

On our way to our friend's house from TD Garden, we stopped at this place for dinner as we were craving for some Indian food. They named this place as a dosa place so we had to try their dosas. Although most of the food in their menu looked to be from the north India. We ordered masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa. It looked amazing when it came out of the kitchen. Masala dosa was perfectly crispy. Mysore masala dosa has a nice look to it too. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't as great as what we expected. We have had dosa's from various places, but this one did not live up to our expectations. Sambar was too liquidated and chutneys lacked the flavor. I think the best bet would be to try North Indian cuisine at this place. Ambiance was good and service was top notch. Our waiter was so nice.

I was so excited to try the food here but it was nothing but super average. The service was average, nothing to write home about. They were not personable at all and the whole process felt very automated. It took forever to flag someone if we needed something. The service was what you would generally get from a small take out place and not from a proper sit down restaurant. We had the empty plates sitting on the table for what felt like forever. And mind you they didn't seem short on staff. We had different servers throughout our entire dinner-, one took our order, different staff server different dishes, someone else cleared the table and someone different brought the check. The food was very average. the medu vada was dry and hard from inside, it is supposed to be fluffy. The cauliflower 65 was tasty. The rava dosa and sambar was not good. The pav bhaji felt like masala overload. We also tried tikki chaat, the tikki was still cold from the center. Bathrooms were very clean. The restaurant had a good vibe but given the food and service, I don't think we will come back again.

Peppinos Dosa is located in the busy Moody street in Waltham. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience with elegant decor. Difficult to get free parking on the street, but plenty of paid parking in the lot behind Parel brothers. Staff is welcoming and service is good. The weekday lunch buffet priced at $15 felt quite reasonable. They had chole & kulcha, naan, pakode, 5-6 curries, dahi bhalla chaat, milk tea and gulab jamun for dessert. Food was overall good.

I went to Peppinos Dosa located on 434 Moody St in Waltham, MA. This indian restaurant features all the classic indian dishes you love but with a vegetarian twist! For drinks we got the mango lassi which is always so rich/refreshing in my opinion 8/10. For appetizers we got the soya chaap 7/10, the mango mint paneer 7/10, the chipotle paneer tikka 7/10, the crispy mushroom 8/10, the Gobi Manchurian 8/10, and the Potli Samosa 8/10. If you don't know what soya chaap is it is a popular street food in India and is made of soy beans and flour. I loved trying this for the first time! It was also nice to see the paneers in different types of sauces- I rather enjoyed the chipotle flavored one! Gobi Manchurian is essentially spicy fried cauliflower-a must get in my opinion. The crispy mushroom didn't even taste like a mushroom at all! Have no fear non mushroom fans-this was great! Finally, the potli veggie samosa had peas, potatoes and cheese. A classic indian appetizer to have before starting the main course. For the main course we got malai kofta (which is like tikka masalas cousin in my opinion) and is made of a creamy and spiced tomato based curry with kofta (spiced balls) 9/10. This was definitely the star dish of the evening and would come back here just for this curry! The other curry we got was the paneer tikka masala which was just a vegetarian version of chicken tikka masala. We also got a side of the vegetable jalfrezi which had broccoli, peppers and onions 7/10. Finally, you can't have indian food without a basket of assorted naan 8/10. They were not cheap on the garlic thank goodness this naan was excellent. Every Monday this spot does Dosa Night and you get a drink and a dosa for only $15! Its a pretty good deal! So if you are vegetarian or craving indian cuisine like I do sometimes head on over there. Food: 8/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Affordability: 8/10

Peppino's Dosa is a gem! The service is warm and super fast, we barely had time to settle in before the food arrived. The dosas are crisp and flavorful, and the Punjabi dishes are just as delicious. Great variety, great flavor, and a really welcoming ambiance. We've been there many times and if we lived closer it would be a whole lot more! Can't wait to go back!

Achari soy chaap is really good. Definitely try their Mysore masala dosa, dal makhani, mushroom saag and more! All of their food tastes amazing with great service and nice ambiance.

They just recently opened up a non-vegetarian side and it's delicious! The lamb biryani with raita, curry leaf chicken, and gulati kebab were all fantastic They really upped their game with the ambiance as well. The plating, table cloths, and decor were all very nice.

We are Dosa lovers. We go restaurant to restaurant in India looking for who has the best. In Waltham Ma, is a Dosa pilgrimage that we recommend. We had the Mysore Dosa and the Bhaji Dosa. Over the top! So excellent and colorful.

Fresh and flavorful food. As a non-vegetarian, I didn't miss the meat. Staff was very welcoming and pleasant.

I could write pages about how great this restaurant is... but I'll synopsize my experience there. My partner and I are Indian food nuts. We've been to India 7 or 8 times. We've been to every Indian restaurant in Cambridge and Somerville. I cook almost only Indian food. I'm partial to South Indian cuisine, eg Tamil Nadu and Udupi. I had lunch with a friend here and opted for the buffet, even though buffets tend to be dried out or a bit old. BUT this buffet was stunning. The made-to-order masala dosa was just like I had in Tanjore, the gobi dish was the tastiest cauliflower I've ever had. The other dishes were amazing, and their paneer dishes were awesome. The naan was super fresh. Every dish was a winner! The service was friendly, the ambience was very nice. One of the nice things about dining in Waltham is that parking is easy and free.

We have been to pretty much all of the good Indian restaurants in Boston and outlying areas. This is the best one we (my husband and I) have been to so far in terms of food quality and taste, which is saying something! I am veg so I love that the menu has tons of vegetarian and vegan options only. The restaurant has a slightly upscale ambience. FYI, we have ordered the Punjabi/North Indian dishes only and haven't tried their dosas. Every single entree/curry we have tried has been delicious, from Hyderabadi baingan to kadhi pakoras to Chana saag, all recommended. The food can also be quite spicy/hot but I have a high tolerance for spice so I like it! Service is pretty good/decent, but the food here tops the list

We had planned to go to Peppinos since quite a while, yesterday it finally happened. So, let's get to the food part! Pav bhaji - not sure what spices they used, but it was just wow!!! Hot, perfectly spicy and amazing!!! Mysore masala dosa - the masala in the dosa was perfectly cooked and flavorful ! The dosa itself was so red and crispy. Sambar was good too, chutneys were not so impressive. The only bad thing was that the dosa was not hot, but that's probably coz of the poor service. Dahi Bhalla chat - mmm, lots of dahi, so I liked it. But I would have liked a bit more chat masala in it given the quantity of dahi. Service is a bit slow, and poor. So minus 1 star for that. But food wise, I really enjoyed the stuff we ordered.

Pepinos is an enticing place with it's pleasant new interiors and a drool worthy menu. I tried their Mysore dosa and Masala chai. Tbh I was a little underwhelmed. The chai was quite mild and average. I was also surprised they don't serve Madras filter coffee! The dosa itself was good but sambar was served cold. They did replace it eventually but it still wasn't hot enough, needs to be piping hot! I could taste the strong flavor of tomato puree which was a bit weird. Chutneys were nice though. Some work to do Pepinos! Hope to have a better one next time :)

I had malai kofta, naan, and Punjabi Sweet lassi. The lassi was bland, the naan was burnt in the center and the malai kofta came with 3 koftas + rice. For a $30 meal, I was disappointed by the taste of the food. The cheap plastic glass (which was not cleaned properly) also ruined the vibe of a sit down meal. The service was great though as the server was attentive and the lassi came in a nice cup; the background Bollywood music was cool too.

A few years ago, I wrote a review praising the food at this restaurant, and my thoughts remain just as positive today. Over the years, my wife and I have dined here many times, and we've never been disappointed. After our visit last night, my wife encouraged me to share an updated review--and I'm happy to do so. The food is still absolutely delicious, and it remains one of the top reasons I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. However, last night reminded us that dining here is about so much more than just the food--it's the entire experience. And at the heart of that experience is the people. The staff here is exceptional. They work seamlessly as a team, creating an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, and truly special. Every team member we interacted with paid close attention to our needs, was readily available, and radiated genuine kindness. Their demeanor and interactions go far beyond routine service; there's an authentic warmth and thoughtfulness in how they engage with guests. Each person who stopped by our table made us feel like we were their top priority for the evening. Looking around, I could see other guests enjoying the same remarkable hospitality--smiling, chatting, and savoring great food in an equally great setting. If you're looking for more than just a good meal, this restaurant offers a complete dining experience that will leave you feeling happy, cared for, and thoroughly satisfied. It's truly a gem.

Solid five stars. We did not have a reservation but after a reasonable wait we were seated. The service was stellar. The servers were attentive and friendly. We order dahi puri( a tad bit sweeter for my taste), mirchi bajji and soya chaap. The latter were nicely prepared, very delicious. We ordered paper dosa, chole bhatura. They brought us complimentary naan and rice for the table. The chole and the batura were really tasty, very homey, authentic taste! We very much enjoyed our experience here. Do not go by the name, they serve beyond dosa!

Phenomenal vegetarian alternative to typical Indian cuisine. The buffet is phenomenal options wise, and I'm never disappointed with whatever I have tried. A must try!

I didn't realize Peopino's was vegetarian until we arrived and I saw the menu. So I was slightly disappointed as I was hoping for a chicken dish and I don't care for potato, and many of the dishes have potato. We had paneer tikka masala (medium) which comes with rice, garlic naan and a mysore masala dosa. The paneer was excellent, and the naan was good but small and not as doughy as I am used to. The dosa came with dal and sauces and was almost all potato which I didn't expect. Our waiter was nice and efficient and the food came fast. It was about 70% full at 8 pm on a Saturday and had outside seating on Moody Street too. It was $50 including tip. I would return.

Peppinos Dosa on Moody St Waltham got a glow up! The restaurant has doubled in size with twice the dining area, which is beautifully appointed with art and colorful chairs and clean crisp table cloths! The menu now includes meat dishes as well as the vegetarian and vegan options we love! The kabob appetizer platter was a mixed grill of several different spiced and grilled meats, I will be dreaming about that one until we return, which will be soon! The chicken tikka masala was also exceptional and our guest got the seafood birany which he enjoyed as well! I can't wait to return!

IMHO the first non greasy dosa I've ever eaten. Usually after eating a dosa I'm lethargic and dehydrated. The Onion rava was good, as was everything else we ordered. Quick service and a well laid out restaurant.

I'll keep it simple. If you're going to offer your services via UberEats, follow the directions. Not asking for anything exotic - I checked the box to include silverware, I added a note to include silverware. I am in a hotel and guess what I don't have readily available? If you can't be trusted with something so simple, I can't endorse your eatery.

If you want metal pieces in your food or dishes as hard as rocks to break your teeth or put you in an ER, this is the place to visit! Beware, owner takes very minimal responsibility for unsafe quality of food and offers complementary dishes instead of offering refund and is barely apologetic! Never eating from here even though we are local

Alright, ambience looks good but the smells inside not so much. The entree portion was laughable, extremely tiny for the tandoori menu ( sizzlers) the platter could have been larger. For the price, the quantity is too less, taste not that great, will not recommend.

At first glance at the restaurant's name, you might think that this is an Indian fast-food place, or one that only makes dosas--but it's a full, inviting restaurant. The menu is very extensive, which can be challenging for someone who only knows a couple of handfuls of Indian culinary terms. But that just means that you'll need to visit a number of times, in order to try everything! The portions are very generous and the quality is top notch. Though we've never been to India, my husband and I have Indian food in some Indian-food hotspots like Belfast, London, and Glasgow; and my husband declared the paneer tikka masala at Peppino's dosa the best he's ever had. I'm looking forward to trying the weekday buffet, in order to try a number of other menu items!

Excellent, very professional straight up business here. Busy for good reason. All vegetarian menu, no one can do vegetarian like India. I would recommend this establishment. Eat well.

A gem, with incredible flavors. The Kalonji Baingan is great. The fresh lime soda is great. The dosas are great. Even the weird fusion ones (Thai red curry, falafel). Especially the weird fusion ones. Everything is vegetarian, and the majority of items are or can be made vegan. Spicy, very spicy, or mild requests are well honored. In short, our favorite Indian restaurant.

Had a nice lunch here after shopping at Patel's across the street. Waiters were very kind and quick. Dosa was beautiful and crisp but not buttery. The soup was a bit salty. The ambiance was beautiful and conversation easy to hear.

Got takeout - masala dosa, samosas, lassi... very delicious. I'd say this is a notch or two better than typical Indian restaurants. Also all vegetarian!

Food was delish except the Falooda Kulfi(they used ice cream and frozen noodles). It was not chewable - they forgot to heat up the noodles, I think. We ordered Chole Bhature and they were cooked in rush hour - so not so awesome. We also tried their dosas - masala dosa and that was delicious along with their sambhar. It was authentic taste not sweet like Godavari's. Their service was good too. Good hardworking people who were swamped with crowds on Mother's Day - any other day would be fine to try. I will go spend money here again. I will consider it a good Indian food place. Ambiance was ok too.

It was a family brunch outing .. we ordered a lot of good food. It offers a diverse menu of South and North Indian cuisine. Standout dishes like Gobhi Manchurian, Chhola Bhatura, and innovative twists like Kofta Naan showcase their flavorful offerings. With attentive service and a cozy ambiance, it's a great spot for those seeking authentic and fusion Indian delights.

We had their spicy dosa, mango lassi and dirty lassi. I thought the dosa was very good. It is flavorful and crispy. But hope the restaurant has healthier options (salad) on the menu.

There aren't enough words to describe how delightful my experience was at this 5 star restaurant. Peppinos had undeniably the best service and unbelievably mouth-watering, authentic Indian food I have ever experienced. Our waiter was extremely attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. To our surprise, they offered each of us a salad and soup sampler and two of their best desserts on the house, no questions asked. We were absolutely floored. The naan was perfectly crispy, and the chicken tikka was moist and melted in our mouths. The falafel dosa was the real showstopper, pairing perfectly with the coconut chutney. In the drinks department, please don't skip out on the mocktails! The mint makes their drinks both crisp and refreshing. My friends and I are passionate tiramisu fans, but we were too full to order the chai tiramisu. Then, by an act of god, the waiter brought out a chai tiramisu and gulab jamun, these perfect little pancake balls soaked in a sweet syrup. Both desserts were truly elevated and life-changing. All in all, we had an above average experience at this restaurant. The service, the food, the atmosphere, and everything in-between truly made this an unforgettable experience that will go down in the culinary history books. Go for Dosa and stay away from "Biryani". The dosa were spot on with fusions like bhaji dosa. However the Biryani was literally curry rice. They funk up the Biryani with a dum style cover.

My favorite vegetarian spot. I love their appetizers and curries. I definitely want to try more of their other items. Dining in is much better than take out but they are always timely.

Five stars for my takeout order! I think this place makes the best chole bhature in Boston. Usually I have to go to New York to find really flavorful authentic chole bhature and finally after years I found a place in Massachusetts that does an amazing job. The chole has so much flavor and when you ask for spicy they add in fresh green chili which is out of this world! I also go the pav bhaji and was impressed by the flavor in that dish also.

Best Indian I have had in a long time. The Dosa Paneer was my favorite, the Katfa was also great.

if you are looking for amazing food, great service, and wonderful people, you just must come here. the folks who work here are AMAZING, the music and ambiance is beautiful and so welcoming, and the food is to die for. i have never felt so welcomed by a restaurant in my life, DELICIOUS and amazing experience, you must try it!!

This place is great. A wide variety of vegetarian foods and they can make some items vegan. They also have a weekday buffet available. Be careful what level spice you ordered as even the mild can be pretty hot for those seeking a "true mild". Waiters are nice and overall good service even during busy times.
