Ok, it's a dog themed bar, so already super amazing. But the staff here, the vibe, the rituals, and again the Incredible, Amazing staff have made this HANDS DOWN the best bar I've ever been to in my 39 years of life!!!

I've been several times, but it's usually hazy recall until I see it again. I was sober this time as this was my reward for helping a friend move back into the area. Good selection of beer, plus they make a mean cocktail. The crawfish we had were excellent. Maybe it was because these were my first of the season but they were so good. Really spicy, and I've never had crawfish boiled sweet potatoes before. This needs to be more common. We just sat at the bar, but there's seating outside and I think out back. It's also super pet friendly and had me missing my pooch. I'll be back more often as I have a base of operations off of St Claude now.

Came in on easter with my dog to kill some time between errands. Had been here a few times before with and without my dog and had an enjoyable experience. Bartender was extremely curt, borderline rude upon "greeting" me. No worries I thought, it's a holiday/early/just their personality. Then it starts drizzling so we come inside for a couple minutes. Went to go back out and the seats were a little wet. So I ask the bartender for a bar towel so I could wipe it off real quick. They go, curtly "for what" and then "it's raining so it's just going to be wet". I just asked to borrow a used bar towel to wipe off one seat. The kicker is that when I went to order another drink, the bartender goes from very friendly small talk with the couple from out of town (the only others in the bar) to a straight up rude "what else?". At this point I'm just wondering if I did something wrong. They go right back to super upbeat small talk with the couple. I'm a veteran of the hospitality industry and this is only the 2nd or 3rd bad review I've ever taken the time to write and post. Deeply disappointed.

COULD NOT RECOMMEND MORE! First time in New Orleans and this is the place to be. Owners are absolutely the best and Richard has amazing recommendations for food and makes the best crushes! Nicest people and a dog friendly bar!

Google
Incredibly friendly owner and service, and what’s not to love about a pub dog?? The malört gimmick is a gimmick, but it’s done well and it’s impossible not to enjoy it. Great place to stop in; it’s a bit out of the way of the usual Nola tourist haunts but so worth it. Loved it here and would come back in a heartbeat.

Google
Great” dog friendly human tolerant” dive bar. Fun place to watch a Saints game. Pizza pop up on was fine. Friendly staff.

Google
Great vibes, very welcoming atmosphere, diverse clientele. We dropped by on a Wednesday and was able to make it to the last two rounds of trivia. Katie made sure we had a great experience. Tried Malort for the first time and was surprised it tasted like pomelo pith. We had fun, very laidback atmosphere - who wouldn't want to hang out with Pepper. Would definitely come back

Google
Great neighborhood bar. The staff was very friendly and attentive to their patrons' needs.

Yelp
Lovely bar in the Marigny. Pepp is the dog who "owns" the bar. The walls are covered in Polaroids of people's dogs. What I mean is that it is very dog friendly. The bathrooms are gender neutral. The bar tender was friendly (if a little slow), they have Touchtunes. It's a bit of a locals bar (at least when we were there) and they were in high spirits, very friendly. I could see if I lived here, this would be a regular hang out. No food.

Yelp
This little local pub has recently become one of our favs to belly up and hang. Friendly people, lots of dogs, food popups, good bartenders.

Yelp
Sorry, but no. The bartender was not friendly at all, and there were only 4 other people in the spot; ignored me for the first 5-6 minutes, didn't ask what I wanted, just looked at me, didn't ask me if I wanted to start a tab or not, just took my card and kept it. The music was not for me, no biggie, not docking a star from you for that, everyone has different taste in music. Grabbed a seat outside, went back in to ask for water glasses (regardless of whether they are normally near the cooler or not, there were none there at the time), and was told "over there", fine, I get it, i've worked in the industry before. But, there were no glasses there... So I said F it, and grabbed plastic cups off the bar for myself to get water to drink alongside the two beers I ordered. Drank the beers, left, will not be back. The place is absolutely dog friendly, has a water bowl for any dog there or walking by.

Yelp
Not my first or last time at this bar. First time much more pleasant experience than this past time. I got the vibe I wasn't welcome. Likely because I looked like a tourist which I am In fact not.

Yelp
Everything. The owners are awesome. Dog friendly people tolerated. Just a good vibe. Lots of friendly people and dogs.

Yelp
Great bar! Happy hour every day all day!!!!The best drinks are "Crushes" with fresh grapefruit or oranges. Hand pressed for each drink. It's dog friendly and the bar tender Richard is the best ever. Great conversations with this guy. Must visit!

Yelp
Went to the Malort party at Pepps, I had never been to Pepps but we had just returned from Chicago and wanted to join in on the Malort fun. A good neighborhood bar especially if you are a cubs fan.

Yelp
Definitely a yuppy bar. It's a extremely dog friendly bar. So much so it feels like the dogs are bringing their owners here. When we arrived there was a huge part sectioned off for a dog having a birthday party. Total barf. If that's your thing then sure -- if not don't bother coming. Weirdly, the bartender was extremely funny while the rest of the crowd was cold. I guess because we didn't have a dog? It's an OK bar, I'm not the clientele but I can appreciate what they're doing. They do a cute thing when you order a shot of Malort. They take your polaroid while you're shooting it back and caption it with your first impression. Then they paste your photo on the wall. Very cute. If you're in the area pop by, if not -- I wouldn't go out of my way unless maybe you had a dog birthday coming up.

Yelp
Pepp's is great place! Bartenders and the owner are all friendly and welcoming. There are always dogs to pet. We really enjoy the excellent drinks and bourbon selection, but it's really a no-frills neighborhood bar, so we usually have a beer and a shot. It's one of favorite places in all of NO, and we try to visit at least once each time we come down. Just a great place, all around. Try the Malort. It's awful, but it's a great experience. Say hello to Pepper when you visit!

Yelp
A variety of beers and liquor, which I like. They even had tvs on with the NBA playoffs on (major plus to me). Anywho, my Sunday funday was here with nice staff and good beer. And some cute furry friends (dogs lol) as well

Yelp
We are visiting from NYC and spotted the dog on the sign, knew we had to stop in. Not only is the joint hoppin' with cute pups, the walls are adorned with photos of furry patrons. Great vibe, and the owner Sam is super friendly with great reccos for us tourtists. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A great neighborhood bar! I had [several] fresh squeezed lime margaritas, I highly recommend them. The bartender was chatty about where to go in the neighborhood and I loved that people kept stopping in with their dogs.

Yelp
I've been a handful of times. Twice for trivia and twice just because I was in the area with friends. Never met the owner until my most recent visit. He was not pleasant initially, and kind of rude. I don't drink alcohol personally, but I'll buy a couple of cokes for myself and treat the other patrons to a drink on me. During trivia, he waited for me to finish writing an answer and said that since trivia was free, and the pizza was free, I HAD to buy a drink and waited for me to get up and go to the bar. I bought coke and two other drinks for a couple at the bar. But that will be the last time I spend money there. He tried patronizing me after, thanking me for coming and buying drinks for some other people...but as a Black man, there's just ways that you don't like being approached when you're alone and having assumptions made against you. I'll get my malort and play trivia at another bar.

Yelp
We are everyone in NOLA's favorite thing: *Transplants*. But I love this city and its history and it's quirks and I also love this transplant-owned bar. If you're looking for a tiny piece of Chicago in New Oreleans look no further. They fly the W (and the fleur de lis, no worries die-hard Saints fans) and will gladly put in Chicago games if you ask. If you are feeling brave, you can have yourself a shot of the famous Chicago liqueur Malort. Famously described as "biting into a grapefruit and then taking a shot of gasoline", it's worth a try so you can get a photo of yourself up on the bar wall! Their drink specials are interesting, they host some fun and delicious pop ups each week, the regulars are friendly, and their bartenders are fast and personable. What more could you want in a neighborhood bar tbh.

Yelp
The best dang bar that ever was! Pepp's Pub is our all time favorite spot to frequent. Dogs galore, friendly bar patrons, excellent selection of drinks, and even better staff + owners. They've truly built a neighborhood bar with thoughtful Pepps perks and community-building events. Our dog absolutely loves it here and we do too!

Yelp
This is a friendly neighborhood bar with a good mixed crowd. They've often got pop-ups for food or crafts and have drink specials. During baseball season it's a Cubs hotspot, complete with Malort.

Yelp
not black people friendly .. weird energy, weird bartender on 9/27 @ 11. & my does that suck ..

Yelp
Had me at Malort. Great people here giving it an old Chicago neighborhood bar feel coupled with keeping the spirit of a New Orleans bar alive and kicking.

Yelp
Great beer selection, helpful bartenders, and we enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the pups come and go since dogs are welcome.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood bar done right. Step outside of the cheesy touristy establishments of the French Quarter and meet the real people that live in the city. Patrons of Pepp's Pub are a family and you're reated as such when you're there. You can come by yourself, but you won't be by yourself. What I loved the most about this bar (other than the outstanding margaritas) is the amazing variety of people you'll meet there. This cozy gem made an introvert like me feel like I belonged there.

Yelp
Wonderful wonderful neighborhood dog friendly bar. Cute, friendly staff. Cute friendly owners. Go if you are in the neighborhood or make a special trip if you love dogs.

Justin B.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. The owners and their dog are down to earth folk that want you to have a great time at their establishment and not get stuck in the tourist traps. Take them time to see them. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Ummmmmmm orange vodka crush 5 stars. And the fact that they love dogs and allow them indoors.....not enough stars for that. Great hidden gem in NOLA.
