I debated between a 3-4 star rating, but ultimately decided to go with 4 stars as I would give Perc another try. However, our 1st visit was less than perfect.
First, parking can be a bit tricky. We drove the block before noticing the ally behind the coffee shop and deciding to give it a try. There is a lot behind the coffee shop. However, when we pulled in, the only available space was marked "staff only". I'm not sure if the whole lot is staff only or just that space. Because we had 2 vehicles in our party, and had followed in another car, getting all 3 of us turned around and out of the small lot was a bit tricky. We each had to pull into the empty space to turn around and leave the lot, which we all did one at a time. However, as I was pulling in to turn around (the last of the 3), the female employee working that day, rudely approached my car to read the sign to me. Then followed me to close the gate behind me. A closed gate or sign at the entrance of the ally would have saved us all this annoyance. We however circled the block again and found street parking just off the next street.
The coffee shop is super cute inside (well and slightly creepy with a baby doll hanging from the rafters. ) We ordered for a group to go and the man at the register was extremely helpful and kind, recognizing that it was our first visit and that we were ordering for a group. (Side note: we let the couple behind us go ahead since we had a large order.) We ordered 5 pastries and 4 coffees, 3 with Oatmilk. However, when we arrived back home we realized we had only 1 with oatmilk, which was disappointing. (They were busy, things happen, but I will watch the process next time as I was unable to drink mine.) Overall the consensus was that the coffee was good, not great. However the pastries were all really good.
