14 Best Bars in Savannah

"The Peregrin is set on the roof of the luxurious Perry Lane Hotel. With views of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge and St. John the Baptist Cathedral, the bar is an ideal place to sip Champagne while watching the sunset. Frośe leads the way on the drink menu, along with other frozen cocktails, wine by the glass, and draft beer. Food feels like an afterthought, though—there's a limited menu with bite-sized options. The view and the drinks are the main attraction." - Barbara Skidmore

The Peregrin Rooftop at the Perry Lane Hotel is an awesome place to grab a drink while taking in a great view of Savannah. The atmosphere is welcoming and the vibe is cool whether you are sitting at the bar (which is beautiful) or sitting at one of the booths/conversation pits that come complete with a fireplace feature. The place was recommended to us by our server at The Collins Quarter (another Savannah gem and must visit) and my wife and I have been twice now, once at night and once in the late afternoon. Both were great. Richard, our bartender during our most recent visit, was welcoming, knowledgeable and makes a nice craft cocktail. Richard also made recommendations of other places to visit and was just a solid friendly bartender/host during our time at The Peregrin. Thanks, Richard. We had just eaten at Sorry Charlie's prior to our visit, but the food we saw come out of the kitchen looked appealing and worth trying. We'll definitely be back.

Visited 3+ times so far in 2025. This rooftop bar is located at the top of the Perry Lane hotel in downtown Savannah, GA. Service is excellent, and the bartenders pride themselves on quality drinks (they checked in with us on taste + quality). I was a fan of their mint drink. We’ve had some of their small plates, which are worth getting (or hold off and go downstairs to the hotel restaurant for an awesome experience). The views of Savannah from this rooftop bar are some of the best we’ve seen. Highly suggest you pay this spot a visit.

Among other things, I was told I needed to have rooftop drinks at sunset during my visit to Savannah. Peregrin was suggested by a few folks and it was walking distance from my hotel. There were pop-up showers just before I decided to walk over and I wasn't sure if they'd be open. There are some covered areas and I was told the bar remains open unless there's lightening. There's lots of space on the rooftop and I suppose it was easy for me to get a spot to look out over the city because of the rain earlier. The bartenders were very attentive and because it was dark and stormy earlier, I ordered a dark and stormy. And as a self proclaimed expert, it passed the test. I also thought, or assumed, they had small bites; but maybe they're available a little early.

Overall good spot! The atmosphere and views are great! The hard part is they only had two bartenders working on a Saturday night. It took a little while to get drinks. Lots of good options for mock tails. Didn’t order food but the menu looked very good!

Google
The views here are absolutely gorgeous, and that's what you're paying for. $20+ cocktails with not-so-generous pours that you order at the bar, but on a beautiful day, it's a lovely place to sit and take in some sun and the breeze.

Has to be one of our favorite rooftop bars in Savannah! The drinks were super yummy and the tropical decor was outstanding. I loved that there were plenty of seating options so it didn’t feel too crowded. Also the views were a great addition to this experience!

Google
The service was great. They were very busy but any of the servers could help you. We had a couple cocktails and a watermelon salad. The cocktails were a good size but the prices here felt like a money grab. Some cocktails were up to $25 which maybe at a NYC rooftop would make sense. The watermelon salad was ok. Two cocktails and a salad with tip was over $70. We had a good time but definitely won’t go back.

I had a great time at Peregrine — the atmosphere, service, and overall experience were top-notch. However, there was a noticeable smell of gas during my visit, which made things a bit uncomfortable and definitely took away from the otherwise enjoyable vibe. Hoping it gets addressed soon, because everything else was truly excellent.

Yelp
As several others have said, I was shocked by my bill, but you're really here for the view and the vibes. Aside from a pleasing aesthetic, the Peregrin has three large industrial fans overhead which makes for an absolutely delightful breeze, which kept me cool while I sipped my cocktails and admired the skyline. I enjoyed all of my cocktails, though some more than others. The peyote, made with Jamaican rum, tiki bitters, orgeat, pineapple, and lime. Refreshing, not too sweet, perfect for the mood. The sakura blossom, made with Tito's, st. Germain, basil-mint simple syrup, lemon, cranberry, and lime yuzu is so light and easy to drink! I also had the root runner, made with mezcal, anejo tequila, Campari, aperol, carrot, and lime. It had more of an earthy taste. I closed with a to go cup up frose, like a rose and aperol spritz had a baby. So cool and perfect for a hot, humid Savannah stroll. They also have bar bites. The bruschetta was just okay, but I wasn't expecting much. Next time I'll probably get the kielbasa and fries. I think they also have some handhelds like tacos. Service was great. Three lovely ladies made sure I never wanted for anything. No crowds and laid back vibe on a Sunday afternoon. I think this will probably become one of my regular places while in town.

Yelp
To wrap up our Savannah trip, we were looking for a rooftop bar to enjoy the vibes and views. We read about Perry Lane Hotel's rooftop before, so we wanted to give it a shot. The views are great. The cocktails are amazing. I had the Road Runner and it didn't disappoint. As the day was hot, we appreciated the nice breeze from the rooftop. We didn't bother to get any food or enjoy anything else with the hotel (we didn't stay here), but loved the final drinks on our final night.

Yelp
Beautiful rooftop bar with views on views! We came on a Thursday night and it wasn't crowded at all. We tried to go again Friday night but it was totally packed and less enjoyable. Their drinks were tasty and they offer some delicious mocktails as well. The sunset is beautiful from up here! They have a bunch of fans so it never got too hot. I saw several bachelorette parties so add this to your list if you're planning one of those! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Rooftop bars are expensive. You are paying extra for that access and those views. But this rooftop is one of the best, most inviting, and prettiest I have ever visited. I visited twice in the 4 days I was in the Savannah area, that is how great it was. I ended up here initially via a recommendation from my server at Collins Quarter in Forsyth Park. They had just opened for the day when I arrived, but I was in no hurry and happy to laze about reading my book while they got truly set up for the day. The bartender on the first day was a delight! Great conversation for both of us, him for a slow open and my for a solo sit-down. He suggested some nearby bookstores, and gave a great drink recommendation. But the rooftop itself was so lovely, utterly welcoming, and the views were great, all made even better by the spectacularly perfect weather! My first visit was so nice that I decided to spend the time between my Airbnb check out and getting to the airport for my flight home once again at the rooftop. I had stopped at the nearby bookstore and bought a couple books to come home with me and to keep me company during this visit. The staff was different people from my previous visit, but were just as lovely and friendly. My drink was tasty, and when I opted to get a bite to eat before going to the airport, my 'Basa and Fries were delicious. I don't know if I could afford to stay in the hotel that Peregrin is a part of, but I can visit the rooftop bar and fit that in to my vacation budget the next time I am in Savannah. And you should too!

Yelp
I loved everything about this place from the views to the drinks to the food!! Stunning place to get city views and a few drinks. 10 out of 10! It gets busy after 6pm I would say so go early if you want a good spot.
google avatar

Yelp
OMG this rooftop is beautiful. I would say it's the nicest rooftop we tried in Savannah. Unfortunately there was a thunderstorm so we had to leave right after we ordered our drinks to no fault of the establishment. Try the Propagator. It's amazing.
google avatar

Morgan M.

Yelp
Peregrin was a great place for a girls night. Dinner and drinks were amazing, and the backdrop of the skyline with the sun setting was perfect. It's nicely done with decor and the staff were very attentive. I would recommend going and may be back myself on this trip!

Yelp
the view from this rooftop bar is beautiful. my friend and i watched the sunset here, and it was picturesque. there's plenty of seating, from cabana-type booths to high-top tables and bar chairs. every part of the ambiance seems well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. the bartenders are quick to engage, and the drink menu had sufficient options. i did not try any food items, but the menu was definitely enticing.

Yelp
This is such a great rooftop to go to! We had the best bartender that was attentive to our needs and our order we placed. We got a couple of old fashioned and the "Tea on the Lane" and loved the flavor profile this drink had. We also got some food (the whipped feta and the Quesa Birria) and both were AMAZING. The birria had this amazing flavorful broth to dip the quesadilla in and the whipped feta mixed with the honey was one of my favorite things. I love being able to see the whole view of Savannah from the rooftop as well as the sun was setting!

Yelp
Super cute rooftop bar In the heart of Savannah! the juicy iced frosé and water my lawn cocktails were perfect strength and temperature for such a hot day. appetizers were pretty filling. Looking forward to revisiting next time i'm in Savannah in the evening time

Yelp
Beautiful!!! The decor is stunning. I didn't get a picture of the painted wall by the entrance, which I'm disappointed about because it was so pretty! Most drinks were pretty good. I had the Grandfather's Garden and it wasn't good though. They brought us blankets when it was cold, which was so nice. We had a large group and unfortunately the only place for us was at a large spot with 2 couches. There were big round tables and we all agreed that they needed fire pits there, not giant tables.

Yelp
Great rooftop bar with wonderful view of Savannah. Perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. Espresso martini was so smooth and flavorful!

Yelp
I was walking downtown and noticed this hotel had a rooftop, I asked if it was open to the public and the front desk said of course, took the elevator up and to my surprise, this beautiful rooftop, bar, pool and view for days. The staff was welcoming, and the drinks were wonderful. I had a beautiful lemon drop with a hibiscus sugar rim, of course it was so delicious. They will know me here, the views are breathtaking, ambiance is splendid and now I have to try some tasty bites.

Yelp
Beautiful decor, view, vibes. ALL THE THINGS. Quick service. Amazing drinks. We didn't order food, but this was probably my favorite drink we ordered while on our trip. Just delicious

Yelp
Peregrin is a fantastic rooftop bar on top of the Perry Lane Hotel. Need some reasons on why you should visit if you're in Savannah and need to beat the heat for a bit? -Great views. -Good cocktails. -Breezy, shady, but still outside! I don't always love going from super hot to super AC cold, so a rooftop with a breeze is the way to go. -The hotel itself was one of Yelp's Top 100 Places to Stay in 2023, so it was great to see a bit of it, even if we weren't staying there. -There is a pool!! Now, I do think this might just be for hotel guests, but I am sure you can get a day pass? -We didn't get any, but you can definitely get food here. What's better than lunch on a rooftop? I do think you'll love winding down with a good cocktail here.
google avatar

Brenna P.

Yelp
I love a roof top bar! The bartenders were fast (shock) and willing to answer the million questions our friends had about the cocktail (bless their hearts). A bit pricey, but not unexpected. I like all the greenery making the space feel even more part of the outdoors. Wish the bathrooms weren't all the way down in the lobby though.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
I did not eat the food here. We went for a couple of drinks and they were some tasty cocktails. The view was awesome and the waiters were super friendly. Go here if you want a beautiful view and some pretty photo worthy cocktails
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
The customer service was amazing here. On top of it being such an amazing space, the views of Downtown Savannah are incredible! Pictures do not do this place justice. The drinks and appetizers were yummy. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful very photo worthy rooftop bar in Savannah! Rooftop bar has limited drinks, but that's ok for the view! Love all the tabletop firepits too! Couldnt tell if the roof has table service, so we just ordered at the bar. My whisky & gingerale was a safe quick mixed drink to start the night. Enjoyed the upscale glassware. But most of all loved the vibe and the view and the people watching.

Meg L.

Yelp
The review is the draw here - 10/10! We were planning to have drinks and dinner, but upon ordering drinks we were informed that there is a limited menu during the week which offered very few items. We were intrigued by their "bites" menu online which is why we went so you'll want to make sure that's what they're actually serving if you plan to eat there. Our drinks were fine, but nothing spectacular. The view saved the rating here.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Roof top bar, yes please! We were in town for a girls trip and this was the perfect day stop for us! Drinks were amazing and the view was great!! A little on the pricey side so be prepared for that big totally worth it!

Yelp
The bar tenders are VERY attentive. The froze was a bit too sour. The vibe here is great

Yelp
We heard great recommendations about Emporium and Peregrin so we decided to check them both out for New Years Eve. Dinner at Emporium was amazing. It was a prix fixe menu and everything was delicious. I had the amuse bouche with potato and caviar, the prawns, and the short rib entree literally fell apart it was perfect. Everyone got some different items but loved every bite. Props to the culinary and service teams because they nailed it. We then went up to Peregrin rooftop bar for late night and the countdown. It was definitely crowded but never took too long to get a drink. We got very lucky and managed to grab a small table that wasn't reserved, but otherwise you would have had to get there very early to claim a spot. This was a perfect spot for the NYE countdown because we had an amazing view of the fireworks over the river, and I loved that we could pre purchase a champagne toast which they came and filled our glass right before midnight. Special shout out to the manager, Jack! He was helping at the restaurant and served our wine, and then we saw him upstairs as well and he brought us some beads and topped off our champagne! Another nice touch was they had bottled water for everyone down in the lobby as we left, much appreciated after a night of celebrating! I also loved that they called the rest of their teams up to the roof including housekeeping for a midnight toast, I'm sure they were all working so hard over the holiday and I loved seeing them take the time to appreciate their staff. If I'm ever back in Savannah I'd 100% come back here and try to stay at Perry Lane Hotel as well.
google avatar

Eleanor A.

Yelp
Drinks were great! I ordered a spicy margarita and it was so fresh and delicious. I recommend going when the sun is setting, the view is absolutely stunning. We also got some bar snacks which were amazing.
google avatar

Tay E.

Yelp
The views--truly best view in Savannah. Food and drinks matched the views and made for an excellent team meeting after a long day.
google avatar

Mandi N.

Yelp
Servers were friendly and efficient! The drinks were like a 7/10 but the views 10/10.
google avatar

Dylan H.

Yelp
As a business owner I would fire the entire roof top staff. The bartenders are not attentive and are the furthest from polite. In Savannah GA you should be able to have an elite staff of bartenders. The bar backs stand there and also ignore the customer as I'm sure they have been instructed. There is no designation between the 2 so the bar backs just stare at you while you are waiting for service. The manager is just a butterfly walking around not paying attention to life. How can you possibly have the Kentucky Derby streaming and allow the stream to go off 10 seconds into the race. The entire bar almost lost it. This was a complete joke watching the staff scramble to figure out common sense. This bar has so much potential but clearly the management needs help.
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
One must do a roof top bar when in Savannah, but it's hard to pick which one is best! I had chose one closer to the river for the view, but we were in dire need of a drink when we happened to be walking around nearby. It kinda has a very cool swanky vibe, a la South Beach. I had a Butterfly Lemonade and my husband had something off menu. We also ordered the grape leaves meze which were good. Then we enjoyed the view, took some pictures and were refreshed and on our way. Lovely place, great service!
google avatar

Marqus R.

Yelp
The rooftop of the Peregrin atop the Perry Lane Hotel is a must-go-to when in Savannah. The views of Savannah are the best to be found. The atmosphere is great and the food is very good, as are their specialty cocktails. I loved their Lady Ginger and their Cognac Cream, both with Hellfire bitters. And though their menu is rather small, it has some unique offerings such as buttermilk poached foie gras. However, for me, I just had their Emporium Burger of grass-fed beef, manchego, piquillo aioli, and bibb lettuce which was totally delicious.
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
Peregrin is a cute spot in Savannah. If you're looking for a chill place to have lunch and enjoy the rooftop, this is a good place to stop by. I didn't think the view wow'd me as much as the other reviews. I do think there's better spots in Savannah specifically for thia but perhaps it's because it was daytime. However, the cocktails here were great. I got the Zulu and it was fantastic. I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised at the prices but expect to spend a bit here. Cocktails are $18 a piece. We did some shareables - thought the wings were good. Service was ok, could be better. We were asked to move our seat multiple times to accommodate other guests.
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
Nestled at the top of Perry Lane Hotel, this rooftop bar has one of the best views in Savannah! It has a nice mature vibe with lots of seating and modern fireplaces. They offer a decent cocktail menu with a handful of signature drinks. I personal love their frozé! It's a large portion and very refreshing on a hot Savannah day. =)
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
If I was reviewing just on ambiance and view it would be 5 stars! The staff was also very nice! The drinks were so so and my credit card got charged a $48 tip instead of $4.80. The food service manager for the hotel was very apologetic and ended up refunding my entire bill. Overall bring cash and enjoy the view!
google avatar

Jane H.

Yelp
Awesome rooftop bar at the top floor of Perry Lane for great views of the city. Ample seating, with some areas conveniently shaded from the sun. One corner was wreathed in honeysuckle and smelled amazing. There's a pool section for people staying at the hotel. My aperol spritz hit the spot! They also have food to order but we opted to go across the street to Zunzi's instead.
google avatar

Abby R.

Yelp
Don't miss this gorgeous spot in Savannah! Signage is minimal, so just head to the right of the hotel check-in desk and take the elevator up to the roof. The atmosphere is stunning with beautiful views and breezy fans. Definitely Instagram-worthy for those that care. Otherwise, expect perfectly crafted cocktails and lots of comfortable seating options. If you're hungry - 10/10 recommend the whipped feta with fresh, warm pita. Service is not the best, but they are busy and you'll get your drinks, so just chill out.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
There is pretty much a universal theory I hold on to: The prettier the view the more mediocre the food/service/drink. Peregrin follows the theory. Don't get me wrong the space is drop dead Goregous. Loved the pool and the bar. The views are perhaps the best in Savannah! But the food and drinks....pshhhhhahhh. More punch was lacking punch and flavor. I seriously could not taste any Jamieson. Our Charcuterie plate was pretty forgettable: Really bland cheeses (hard cheeses) served with a plastic fork...like WTF? Meats were forgettable as were the accoutrements I would pass on the food. Visit buy a beer and enjoy the views.
google avatar

Review S.

Yelp
While the rooftop venue is absolutely fabulous and the service was excellent, the cocktails were fair and food was good. So, it boils down to what's important. Old Fashioned was "topped" with club soda. Unusual and undesirable. Other drinks were all quite sweet. The appetizers were: Dolmas (A+), Zucchini Fritter (B-bland), Whipped Feta (A-Very interesting).
google avatar

Jacki B.

Yelp
Even though we came on an overcast evening, this was one of our favorite rooftop bars in Savannah! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the drink menu was very extensive (including boozey popsicles!) There's plenty of seating at the bar, as well as additional seating throughout the rooftop and comfy couches for groups.
google avatar

Kristine S.

Yelp
Hubby and I visited the roof top lounge area before dinner while in town for a long weekend. We absolutely loved the view! It was a gorgeous night to enjoy a drink on the rooftop. The weather was amazing that night so we got lucky. We were also able to snag a couple seats by the fire pit. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks. I ordered the Skylark and he ordered the Old Fashioned. I normally don't order vodka drinks but I felt like trying something different. I'm glad I did! The Skylark kind of reminded me of a strawberry lemonade, spiked, of course. My only complaint was that it was a little too easy to drink! Hubby enjoyed his Old Fashioned - this is his go-to drink. I tasted it and I also liked it. Not too sweet and made well. I also liked the layout of the lounge. Not a bad seat in the house! I would highly recommend stopping by for a cocktail and skyline views.

Nicole W.

Yelp
I came here with my dog and first impression of the hotel was 10/10. Everyone was so kind and led us to the elevator to the rooftop. The hostess was also so sweet and handed me a menu and I proceeded to the bar where the bartender made my gin cocktail and took my order. Everyone staff member was attentive and enthusiastic and the view is really nice for an out of towner. Lots of shade for my dog and the staff made sure he had fresh water. Honestly as a solo female traveler who always brings her dog, I approve of this place and will come back each time I visit!
google avatar

Rob L.

Yelp
Beautiful views of Savannah. Great service. A variety of seating options. Just had drinks. Lots of options.
google avatar

Sophie S.

Yelp
So disappointed about our experience at Peregrin. Came in and waited for service at the bar and were not acknowledged until we were leaving. It was empty inside. Staff was rude. I felt so uncomfortable and judged being here.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Great drinks and a beautiful view- can't go wrong! This place has a great view of the water and the city! We were in Savannah just for one night and I'm very glad we picked this bar. Everyone making drinks was masked and there was enough space to social distance. We got the Skylark (I think) and a Mai Thai and both were so good that we got a second round of the same.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Even on a muggy August evening, Peregrin, the rooftop bar at Perry Lane Hotel, made for a nice setting for tasty - if pricey - drinks. Great views & friendly Sam took care of us at the bar & she helped us select a cocktail we'd like, noting that she was adept at & more than happy to adjust recipes to our liking if there was an ingredient in the descriptions that we didn't like. I think we got a pine warbler, a froze', a Chatham Artillery Punch, & something with gin (can't recall).

John R.

Yelp
Great drinks, service and one of the best views of the city. Try the whipped feta as it was amazing.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
After yelping Peregrin, we decided to go in for lunch! It was a really beautiful rooftop location with a nice selection of lunch choices. We decided to go with fish and chips. I would've had better if I would've gone to any fast food joints, like any place along The highway! I cannot believe that for $21, we got such a small portion of fish and it tasted like they grabbed it out of a bag and threw it in the fryer. It was also overcooked. If there were three pieces the size, we still wouldn't have liked it, but what an insult to pay more than $10 for this lunch! We told the waitress, my husband told the manager, and all they did was comp our Valet parking.
google avatar

Yelp
We stayed at the Perry Lane Hotel this weekend and it was great! One of the things that drew me here was the rooftop bar area. We did go up each night for a round of drinks. The area is very nice, however it's way too hot up there right now. So be prepared. Most seating is barely covered and there are no outdoor fans, etc. With the social distancing, seats are limited. The drinks are pretty good but pricey. I did enjoy their sangria very much. Hubs had a margarita and didn't care for it much. We tried a frozen drink one night. It was OK. Service is VERY SLOW. You can expect to sit for 5 minutes or more before you get a server and another 10 minutes plus for drinks. Not the service you expect at a hotel of this standard. The servers are all very nice but just kind of operate on I'll get to you when I get you. They do offer a full bar and bar food. I think in the fall, this spot could be ideal. Service needs to equal what you expect in a hotel property of this caliber.

Yelp
Stunning views, great drinks, fun atmosphere, service can be a tad slow (even if not many people). LOVED the Arancini. 10/10.
