Perenn - Review - Franklin - Nashville - The Infatuation

"The almond croissant at Perenn is untouchable. No one’s making a better pastry in Williamson (or Davidson) County right now. And the line out front is a testament to just how good they—and pretty much all of Perenn’s housemade pastries—are. Flaky pain au chocolat, crisp flutes of just-out-of-the-oven bread, buttery kouign-amann line the bakery case, with an Art Deco espresso machine by its side, just waiting to make the perfect macchiato to go with them. There is some seating, both indoor and on the patio by the river, so it’s easy to spread out to enjoy some of the heftier stuff on the menu. We’re talking about a lunch of avocado or ricotta toast and an heirloom tomato sandwich, but also for dinner, where you can take down a bavette steak or Sunday roast." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Best croissants and baguettes in Nashville, hands down. I’ve been here many times and each visit the staff is kind and welcoming. The pastries are fresh and made with simple ingredients. My recent visit, I was wanting a baguette, but they hadn’t arrived yet. I asked one more time after getting my food to go and the manager (I believe his name was Mike) grabbed me one right off the truck. When I asked if I can pay, he said it was on him. I was so taken back by the gesture and I will be a forever customer. Super welcoming atmosphere, family & children friendly, and amazing food. My fave are: baguettes, croissants, breakfast sandwich on croissants, berry danishes, iced vanilla latte, or seasonal brown butter marzipan latte. My husband loves their drip coffee and says it’s the best he’s had! Their coconut cloud coffee is good, but on the stronger side! So happy Nashville has a European style bakery 🥰🥐

Google
Perenn Bakery was remarkable - the true highlight of our trip to Tennessee. I’ll be dreaming of coming back to this place again. Beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients of the highest quality, great coffee, elegant decor. Their croissants are absolute perfection and what I call “out of this world”!!! Lots of mouthwatering options that make your choice almost impossible. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. A group of beautiful people that truly cares about their customers. We had the sweetest server Jasmine, who was absolutely delightful and who made sure we had the ultimate best experience. Can’t recommend this place enough, check it out yourself!❤️

Visiting Franklin for the first time & came here for breakfast. We made reservations ahead of time and had a short wait to be seated. Breakfast was delicious! We ordered off the menu & purchased from the bakery, all delicious!

Probably the best brunch I’ve had recently. Even though it was a Monday morning, I still had to wait about 30 minutes, and the sun was quite strong while waiting outside — but the clean and lovely surroundings made it enjoyable. I ordered the Turkish eggs, a BLT, and an iced cold brew coffee, and everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely planning to come back with a friend!

Google
Ok…this is the best Latte I’ve had in Nashville/ Franklin metro area. Such a fun French Bakery vibe- and the smell is enough to overwhelm the willpower of the staunchest low-carb believer! I’m in awe of just how well they captured the traditional city bakery 🥐 atmosphere and THEN matched it with quality! Just WOW. New favorite spot!

Loved everything! The Turkish breakfast has such great flavors and the croissants taste like the ones we get in Europe. Beautiful location and staff was so on top of it.

Google
First time visit. We celebrated our anniversary with brunch. We have tried to go several times since it first opened but it has always been so crowded. Luckily I checked online and saw that they took reservations. This was a great option because it was packed. Once we arrived we were seated almost immediately. Our server Lola exceeded all our expectations. She was very kind and professional. She went over the entire bakery menu by memory and made several recommendations which we took advantage of and weren’t disappointed! The food came out very fast and was all delicious! Lola was very attentive to our needs and even presented us with her favorite cookie at her own expense after knowing we had a difficult time deciding which pastry to choose!! What a kind gesture! The Perenn was a great experience and we will be back!

Google
Visited Perenn for the first time for a brunch date with a friend, and everything was perfect. I had the Salmon Nicoise with a cloud matcha. The salmon was cooked to perfection, so tender it literally melted in my mouth, paired with crisp greens, creamy potatoes, and a light, fresh dressing. My friend’s Turkish eggs with cappuccino were just as amazing. The service was warm, the atmosphere cozy, and we ended on a blueberry danish that was perfectly sweet without being too much. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Yelp
This was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised! I really like the aesthetic! I felt like I went back in time to the 1920s or 1930s! The bakery is as soon as you walk in and the restaurant is to the left. I ordered the Crispy Brunch Potatoes and was able to sub the fried egg for scrambled. It was delicious!! The crema and bacon jam on top of the Potatoes were chef's kiss! I also ordered OJ, which was freshly squeezed. Everyone was nice and I would definitely go back for those Potatoes! Tip: If you park behind the restaurant in the lot, prepare to pay for parking (Even if you don't see a sign, look for one) or you'll come out to a parking ticket. :(

Yelp
We ordered pastries at the walk up counter, and even though the line was long, we were served quickly and the staff was very friendly. We sat outside and the patio was nice and had plenty of seating for various party sizes. The pastries we got were delicious and we look forward to returning and trying more food options. The only downsides are the restrooms are shared with another restaurant and there was always a line wrapping into the dining room. That would be very disruptive and uncomfortable if I was seated inside. They also have plastic cups outside to refill your own water, which is a great option, but I wish they had an option to recycle. Seems like a lot of unnecessary waste. Overall, we recommend and will return to try more of their food and drink options.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Perenn. But that won't stop me from trying: I'd enjoyed their coffee and breakfast several times before (coconut cloud Americano, holla at me!), but yesterday my adoration hit a whole new level. My sister-of-a-friend was in town for one day only, so Perenn, with it's timeless interior & wafts of fresh baked wonderfulness filling the air, was the obvious breakfast choice. We went splitskies on the Turkish Eggs and the Ricotta Pancakes. Both were complete and utter perfection. I've been curious about Perenn's weekends-only dinner service, and with my girl in town for her birthday, I thought: Why not make it a double-feature and try it out with her!? I'd left notes on the reservation, explaining the birthday-ness of the occasion and I was hopeful it would be a sweet night. What I did not know was that the night would become a dream sequence, movie montage, of divine bites and the best service I've ever received. It was magic - I could see the memory forming in my mind's eye as the meal played out. Over drinks, appetizers I could write songs about floated our way... Bright & acidic gilda, potato pave which we decided is "the best potato chip ever", a fresh & crispy salad, and a cut of the most tender, fragrant, deeply flavorful beef imaginable. For my main, I ordered the salmon, which taught me the true meaning of "melt in the mouth." It turns out I'd been using that phrase all wrong - nothing has ever melted in my mouth quite like that. Pure bliss. We were delighted & surprised at every turn. It was just so, so special. I will always remember our evening of laughing, lingering, and luxuriating at Perenn. You must go & see for yourself!

Yelp
Cute! To-go order. Service was fine. I needed a quick little breakfast. The rosemary potatoes & egg soufflé got the job done and the potatoes were so good. I will say two people can probably split the side order of potatoes because they are rich & hearty. Will be back to try other things & the coffee.

Yelp
I love Perenn. Their pastries are unmatched. If I am in the area, I will always pick up a pastry because I am always in the mood for a nice flaky crispy and soft croissant that is perfectly made. I highly recommend this place and trying their pastries. It is definitely worth finding parking and taking the time to stop by if you're in the area. The best is their breakfast croissant with egg cheese and bacon jam or sausage. It was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had.

Yelp
The croissants and crème brûlée were easily the highlight of the entire visit and honestly worth coming back for. They were fresh, perfectly done, and exactly what you want when you walk into a bakery. Unfortunately the rest of the menu fell flat. Most of the pastries tasted like they had been sitting out for a while and nothing else came close to the quality of those two items. For the prices they are charging, you expect consistency across the board, and it just was not there. The space itself is beautiful. High ceilings, great light, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to linger. But the beauty also comes with a cost. It was crowded, noisy, and a little chaotic. Parking is another headache. There are only a handful of spots. The outdoor seating is a nice touch and if you manage to get a table it is a lovely place to sit, especially with a coffee and one of those croissants. Just be prepared to wait because the line moves slowly and service has been so-so. Overall, it is the kind of place you want to love because it looks the part and has a couple of standout items, but once you get past the first impression, most of it is average at best. I would go again for the croissant and the crème brûlée, but not much else.

Yelp
We just loved this place! It reminded me of this small cafe in Jackson Hole WY that we ate at everyday while we were hiking. The interior is a French style with sit down service or take away available. I recommend a reservation because I didn't make one and we had to do takeaway they were fully booked for 8am breakfast. However, the outdoor patio is wonderful and breezy this morning. The breakfast sandwiches were literally perfect. The croissant was baked perfectly. You could feel every layer and the butter was excellent. The soufflé eggs were extremely fresh and wonderful. I recommend adding the chipotle mayo because it really elevated the sandwich. We had light roast cappuccinos and they were great. I doubled back for the black tea cookies and fresh French bread. Super excited for those takeaways. This is a great spot and has parking in the back which is a plus for downtown. If you're on the fence, climb over this place is well worth it.

Yelp
We walked here on a beautiful day, but I suspect parking may be difficult for those driving. There was a long line inside but we were served quickly. I eat gluten free and low carb so it's hard to imagine what I would get at a bakery, BUT I had one of the freshest salads I have ever had, it was delicious, but it was undoubtedly the most expensive salad I have ever had. My comrade had the grilled cheese which looked super gooey and delicious, and she said the fries were amazing! One downside, it seems the only seating inside is a counter at the window, not good for conversation. Outdoor seating is great in good weather, but Franklin had its share of bad weather. They do share the space with a pizza restaurant, but I was told we could not sit in their space.

Yelp
One of my neighbors suggested this bakery, and I am so glad she did ! I intentionally worked out before coming to the bakery so that I would be hungry. I ate the breakfast egg and croissant sandwich with avocado, and it was absolutely delicious. My friend and neighbor ordered the apple pie. Bake and I took the cinnamon roll to go. Service was excellent, and the ambience is great for intimate gathering such as dates or quality time with friends and family.

Yelp
I was so excited about this spot opening in Franklin, and first impressions did not disappoint! It is truly a lovely space, and the servers were quick, friendly, and attentive. Parking process was simple, and it was fairly quiet on a weekday morning! I have seen comments about the pricing -- and yes, it is a consideration if you want a full meal, but there are options for keeping cost down and honestly it's all high quality and well worth it!! We had coffee, split a sweet and a savory breakfast item, and then took away some pastries to try later -- everything was phenomenal and I enjoyed the dining-in experience. Overall, I'd designate this a must-try food destination in Middle TN

Yelp
I'm giving this place 4 stars but only for the takeout. If it were just for dining alone, I would give it 3 stars. We really love the bread and the pastries, especially the chocolate croissant at Perenn. The flour is not your usual white bread, but a nice dark wheat flour. The seeded bread and the sourdough are simply amazing toasted with butter and fresh tomatoes and salt. It tastes healthy, and delicious. Reminds me of the bread and pastries we had in France. We actually stood in line when it first opened behind the person who was funding the place as well as the pizza place next-door, and he was very kind and spoke with us for a while about how he came to be involved. The service at the takeout area is professional and fast. However, my advice would be to just take food to go and not sit down service. I went there with my two sons for breakfast on a weekday. The sitting area is lovely, but it is a crowded. We were seated at a table meant for two people and they pulled up an extra chair for me on the side. I felt like we were pretty much on top of the people next to us. I'm not sure why they didn't just put us at a table for four. It felt like it was a bit of an afterthought. The food was good, but it is very pricey. We got a kids breakfast, an egg and cheese croissant, hot chocolate for the kids, cold brew for me, crispy potatoes and a chocolate croissant (I did not even order a breakfast dish for myself). It was close to $70 including tip. There were lots of upcharges I was unaware of. The waiter also looked at me oddly when I asked for Stevia with my coffee and said "we have none of that here". Stevia is actually a plant based natural sugar source so I'm kind of not sure why she said that to me like that. I think they may need some improvement in the service department area, if they are going to charge these prices and make seating limited. In summary, good place to go to support a local business, but advise going there for takeout only.

Yelp
This place is the cutest shop ever. The details are amazing. You can make a reservation and sit to eat or grab a coffee and pastry in line. I recommend getting a reservation and ordering some pastries to the table, specifically the pecan pastry. I can't recommend it more. The coffee is not the best for latte connoisseurs. Skip the avocado toast it's not the best. The potato's and croissant sandwich were the best food parts! Love love love

Yelp
10/10 recommend Perenn but please book a reservation so you can enjoy the view and food. The European aesthetic is everything. They have a steady flow of traffic and the customer service is great and fast. I ordered the grilled banana bread topped with butter and honey and of course a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious
google avatar

Yelp
They did a beautiful job with designing and renovating the space. But they have some definite operational issues to figure out. We have been multiple times and we find dining in to be frustrating pretty much every time. After you check in at the host stand near the back, the service is not great and certainly not up to par at the prices they are charging. Most recently we waited 20 minutes for iced teas and an additional 20 past that for the banana bread we ordered. Simple food items (basic breakfast that they manage to overcook eggs on every time) take crazy amounts of time. Their wait staff seem very inexperienced and confused. I don't think managment is doing a very good job leading them or setting them up for success. We enjoy their pastries. And it's nice to have a place to get more elevated breakfast options in Franklin. We will return as I think the products they offer are overall good and to be honest, we don't have many riveting options in middle TN. BUT... their prices are crazy high (by any actual big cities standards) and the service has much to be improved on. The soft scrambled croissant w/bacon jam is nearly $27...it doesn't come with anything. I'm sorry, that's criminal. Also, if you like matcha, don't even attempt to get it here. I attached a photo of the yellow nonsense I received. It's offensive they would serve it a paying customer. I sent it back it was so bad and we didn't notice until we left but she never took it off our bill like she said she would. My advice would be to grab some of their pastries to go and enjoy at home.

Yelp
Perren is a beautiful new addition to the Nashville pastry scene and it's clear they take their craft seriously. The pastries are truly top-tier: buttery, crisp, and flaky AF in the best way. Every bite feels intentional and elevated. The kouign-amann and croissants alone are worth the trip. The aesthetic inside is minimal, warm, and inviting, with that clean, modern European feel. It's the kind of place you want to hang out in, especially if you can snag a table. Great vibes, natural light, and thoughtful design. That said, a couple of small things made the experience feel less seamless: coffee took quite a while, and I do wish they had separate lines for pastry pickup vs. coffee orders -- it would help the flow and reduce the wait. Pro tip: Come early or make a reservation -- this place fills up fast I'm sure they are working out the kinks of just opening, but still worth a trip to try it out for yourself!

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing pastries! We've stopped in several times since they opened, and it is always a good experience. The Tuna Conserva sandwich is a winner, and the pastries are always amazing. The service is friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is very pleasant, with options or both indoor and outdoor seating. You can also get coffee and food for takeaway if you don't have time to sit down for a meal. I have enjoyed every single morsel I've ever gotten here.

C C.

Yelp
We got an assortment of 7 items - they were all delicious! The croissants (butter, ham & cheese, almond) were crispy on the outside (they heat the pastries in an oven) and layered, soft and fluffy inside. The "vanilla crème brûlée kouign amann" had a delicious caramelized bottom crust. The molasses cookie was soft and chewy and the "Snack Cookie" had perfectly caramelized bits. Loved this cute bakery! We didn't eat breakfast there but the breakfast menu looked good also.

Yelp
Delicious croissants, got the almond and prosciutto/ham. Light and buttery. Service was friendly and efficient. Ambiance was busy but cute, well decorated place. Outdoor seating available Indoor seating is by reservation

Yelp
Stunning! Loved the ambiance. Pastries and food were delicious. We really enjoyed everything we tried and even went back the next day for two boxes of pastries. We will definitely continue to visit but didn't have a great experience as far as service. The girls at the counter were sweet but I can't say the same about the hostess or manager. We had hoped to eat in the restaurant but were told they didn't have space and it was a 30 minute wait. The hostess was a bit snarky which is disappointing. When walking to the bathroom we noticed five servers chatting and maybe three tables seated. Maybe they were behind? Either way it seemed odd. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our lunch just the same. When the manager brought our food out we asked for flatware but we were told to get it ourselves-it's by the door--plastic silverware. Not the easiest to eat with so we asked someone else for some real silverware. Those were our only complaints so we will continue to give them a try. So make a reservation if you want to eat at a table with real silverware and don't forget to validate your parking.

Yelp
I've been anxiously awaiting their opening and went on soft opening day. This space is absolutely beautiful. They have turned it into an oasis inside. It was soft opening day so of course the staff was still training and figuring it out but they were all so lovely and kind. Full of smiles and you could tell they were happy to be there. Now on to the important part - the food! I ordered the ricotta toast, an almond croissant, and a hot chocolate. Omg. That ricotta toast was brilliant. The almond croissant has gone to my top 5 (and I've had SO MANY, all across the world). It's a little pricey, I will admit. But Franklin really estate isn't cheap and the aesthetic is pretty and the food is delicious. Support a small business - I will definitely go when I'm in the area!

Yelp
This place is just beautiful! From the aesthetics, to the service and to the food. Everyone greets you so nicely. They're so patient and kind, even with getting 600 people a day the first few days they opened up. The food is incredible. The croissant was huge and so buttery and flakey. The BLT sandwich was so juicy and the aioli on it was perfect. Their matcha was delicious and refreshing. I've already been back a couple times since they opened. And I will definitely be a regular here.
google avatar

Zachary H.

Yelp
I asked for a ham and cheese croissant. When I got it, I was confused because there wasn't any ham or cheese-- just a croissant. Then I bit into it. The ham and cheese were INSIDE the croissant. Mind. Blown. I'm not sure how they do it, since the croissants don't appear cut in any way. But the chocolate croissant is the same way. And the croissants taste amazing. Fluffy and warm and flaky-- absolutely delightful. The service is friendly and professional, the inside is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and they have some lovely outside seating.

Yelp
franklin totally didn't need another bakery, but I am very happy we got Perenn haha! this place is great! it's decorated beautifully, lots of seating, and friendly staff. we got pastries and they were all really good. let me tell you, the matcha cloud drink, is a 10/10 on its own. this drink alone gave this place 5 stars in my book. i have been dreaming of this drink since I had it. I bought matcha and coconut water that same day to make this drink at home. i will be back 100%

Yelp
Had the pastries as take out before but decided to get breakfast today. Yes, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for and I will say, the staff from the door to our table friendly, polite and efficient. Literally the best service we've had in Franklin in years and our server, Haley, was superb. I had the Soft Scrambled Eggs in a Croissant, excellent with just the perfect amount of Gruyère and fresh chive. My wife had the breakfast croissant which she rated as great. We took home a Vanilla Crème Brûlée Kouign Amann and an Almond Croissant, both excellent. I don't usually rant on service so much, but it was refreshing to get great service.

Yelp
Perenn is a beautiful space that is covered in soothing green colors promoting a calming vibe aesthetically and their branding/merch is perf! Their espresso machine is GORGEOUS. There are fresh flowers arrangements scattered around adding to the beauty. While, this spot definitely has those dreamy, picture worthy vibes that make you want to linger, our experience was a bit disrupted by how crowded and overwhelmingly hot it was inside. It's a relatively small space with a lot of foot traffic and we did not know that you cannot sit down in the back to eat without a reservation. We were able to snag one of the few bench seats near the windows in the crowded ordered area, which truly felt like eating in a garden - meaning there were flies and unfortunately, some unwelcome visitors (a lot of ants and even a wasp) during our meal. I hope they consider treating the windowed areas. The covered outdoor patio is also for reservations; however, there were some uncovered seats in the blazen sun available. As for the food, the presentation is stunning and everything was equally delicious! We both got the breakfast sandwich croissants (flaky, buttery perfection). I added the bacon jam to mine - it was a bit too sweet for my taste. We also split the Almond Croissant pastry and Earl Grey cookie - incredible textures and flavor. We also tried both the hot and iced version of the Herbs de Provence lattes and it's very herbal, so make sure you like that kind of thing. It reminded me a bit too much of essential oils. I'm glad I tried it, but wouldn't order it again. Important things I wish I had known before coming - there's no table service or guaranteed space to eat unless you reserve ahead, it seems like it may be better to pick up and go, which was a bummer bc we were meeting to catch up and spend time together over a meal. And, the location is difficult to access with parking that is very minimal - if you're not one of the few lucky ones who snagged a spot up front or in their tiny back lot, you will need to park and walk. We ended up walking from the Second Avenue parking garage. Overall, a lively place with lots to offer, be prepared for the crowds (esp. on weekends) and some challenges if you're visiting without a reservation.

Yelp
Very cute new spot! The day we went was the weekend after they opened so it was very very busy, which isn't bad! Took awhile to get our food and drinks, but both were delicious. I love the authenticity of it and charming decor inside and out. Will be back!

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. A true feel of a European bakery. The cinnamon roll croissant is delicious. The croissant is so flakey and light with perfect sweetness. The drip coffee was smooth not too acidic or strong . Nice people serving. Very busy at 9:00 am do go early or enjoy the hustle.

Faith J.

Yelp
Delicious coffee & authentic good food. It doesn't get much better than that! Everything came out very quickly As well

Yelp
YUM!!! The pastries are really so beautiful and incredible! I mean they are large and filled with so many delicious different fillings! I tried one with vanilla cream and chocolate chips, a cinnamon roll, and a croissant filled with Crème brûlée filling! Everything was incredible! I tried the black tea and it was also great. Service was good as well! It is pricey so that's why I took off one star but it's a nice treat!

Yelp
I was really excited for this bakery to open since I love pastries. However, I have to say I am really underwhelmed, especially given the hype. First off, the prices are absolutely insane. And I am willing to pay more for good quality ingredients and great taste. But one pastry and a coffee should never cost $20 in Franklin, TN. That's the price of dinner at many restaurants. I have now tried five different types of pastries, the ricotta pancakes, and their baguette. Not sure if it's the flour they use or the lack of skill of the bakers. The pastries were very dry, which was surprising given how early I came in each time. The baguette is hard as a rock and completely inedible the next day. The pancakes were fine, but nothing overly exceptional. Anyone who says the baked goods are as good as what they had in France clearly hasn't spent enough time in France. The service is chaotic and confusing, especially on weekends. The parking is fine since there is a free parking garage about five minutes away by foot, but would be nice if the parking lot in the back was free for the first 30 minutes if you are just quickly running in to grab something to go. All in all, very overpriced for what it is. The design of the place inside is lovely, but I personally care more about the taste of the food. There are much better and better-priced bakeries even in downtown Franklin, and certainly in Nashville, Dozen Bakery being one of them. I hope this place can improve with time, but it seems like they are expanding rapidly at the cost of quality.
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Make a reservation through Resy, it's worth it! If you don't have one, it's going to be really hard to get in and you might have to stand in a long line even for the baked goods (even though it's honestly worth it). The atmosphere is very cozy and beautiful, not to mention quaint! It definitely has that French feel to it. My husband got the smash burger and loved his. I got the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with the carmelized onions and sausage with the chipotle mayo. OMG! I would honestly get it again, but I'm also excited to try other dishes as well. The coffee here is TRULY delicious. I had the latte and WOW. They've definitely perfected their process. I normally add a little sugar to mine but nope, not this time. It was perfect without it! TIP: Ask your waiter for things from the bakery case so you're not having to stand in line and grab them before they sell out. They'll box it up for you to take home. Make sure to try the Earl Grey cookie and croissant. YUM!!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of croissant since I used to work at the best croissant bakery in the whole United States Gosh can't forget that taste, and it's was a little close to it for sure it's the best croissant in Nashville now and I'm so happy about that :) very cute ambiance and loved the costumer service! I definitely coming back ^^

Yelp
Had lunch here on a Tuesday. It was a 45 min wait- it's a hot new restaurant so I planned accordingly and knew I'd have a wait. I'm a local and frequent downtown so also knew parking would be paid- no surprise there. Lunch was phenomenal. My friend and I both ordered Cobb Salad with chicken- the ingredients were fresh and delicious, the dressing was so light and refreshing. And the griddled banana bread was OUT OF THIS WORLD. If you go for one thing or one reason- go for that!! Worth the wait! Service was also great! Atmosphere is a 10! We will be back!

Yelp
Easily the best thing to happen to Franklin in the past decade. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are hands-down some of the friendliest, kindest people you'll ever meet. The restaurant serves consistently delicious 10/10 food from their menu, and the pastries are truly out of this world. Aubrey and Tyler have created a space everyone loves to be in where the food is just as good as the feeling you get being there.

Yelp
I visited Perenn with a reservation and, despite having one, still had to wait a few minutes for our table. They offer a parking lot in the back with validation, but spots fill up fast. We got lucky with some street parking nearby. The Matcha Cloud is a must-try, especially if you're a fan of coconut water like I am. It's super refreshing and creamy, with organic coconut water and electrolytes, all perfectly balanced with lightly sweetened, whipped matcha. For food, we ordered the Tuna Conserva with salad and the Croque Madame, subbing the prosciutto for mushrooms. The fries on the side were crispy and came with a tangy mustard that complemented them so well. The bread of the sandwiches, though, could use some improvement. Both dishes had edges that were a bit hard, and they were served cold. That said, the aroma from the contents still elevated the flavors of both sandwiches, and I really enjoyed the taste. Also picked the Vanilla Crème Brulee Kouign Amann from the pastry case. The cream inside was wonderfully custardy and not too sweet, which was a nice surprise. The pastry itself was flaky, soft, and delicious.

Yelp
At no fault of their own, Perenn was extremely busy when my friend and I went. So busy, we couldn't safely fit my stroller with my two kids inside. So we didn't dine but the outside was very much telling. First, there's no easily accessible ramp for people with strollers OR wheel chairs. In fact, I couldn't even navigate the outdoor seating area after I asked around to find out where the ramp was. I had my friend and one other woman help me lift my stroller with my two kids onto their patio to see if we could go inside. After finding out every inch of the restaurant is packed and there was no way I could fit my stroller comfortably anywhere on the property we promptly left. We ended up talking to other women and families who were very frustrated at their lack of ramp or easily accessible entrance for those of us with strollers and babies. You would think that a brunch restaurant would cater to SAHMs or SAHWs because that's what we do... we brunch! After finding out their menu prices we, again, promptly left. They are charging more for a brunch meal than extremely nice dinner places charge for an entree (Kayne Prime, Sojourner @ Southhall). We ended up going to the Bakehouse right across the street and they were way less packed, reasonable prices, AND we could actually enter the building with strollers without the help of 2 other women. As of right now we wouldn't go back but maybe we would try again in 6 mos.

Yelp
Every time I come here I leave with no less than 6 pastries. Everything is incredible and the coffee is great too. If you go on the weekend though be prepared to wait or try to go when they first open.

Yelp
To say I love Perenn is truly an understatement! It has quickly become my favorite new spot in Franklin, and I honestly don't know how we ever lived without it. I've been going every week since they opened--sometimes twice--because going more than a few days without the best pastries in town just isn't an option. (I've accepted that extra gym time is totally worth it.) I've heard they use only organic flour, imported from Europe, which makes a big difference. I really value quality ingredients, and I'm so grateful to have a place in town I can trust to serve food that's both clean and delicious. I usually bake my own sourdough, but with my schedule lately, I've been picking up theirs--and it's amazing. At around $8.50 a loaf, it's a steal compared to the $20+ prices elsewhere. The service has always been top-notch, whether I'm dining in or grabbing takeout. The staff is consistently kind, helpful, and quick to make things right if anything is missed. Pro tip: If you want to dine in, definitely make a reservation--weekdays are usually easier to snag a spot. There can be lines for pastries, especially on weekends, but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. After all, high demand is the mark of something truly great!

Yelp
I've waited until 5 visits to offer my review of Perenn. I always prefer to allow time and training to settle-in prior to giving my honest opinion that I hope will help the establishment and patrons. I don't know why I waited so long in this case to offer my thoughts. Our first experience was within opening week and it was exceptional. We had a lovely brunch in the dining room. (Reservation through Resy.) The line out the door was a little unsettling but we were through the line and seated at a beautiful table within a minute. We ordered a Cobb salad and a ricotta toast on their country sourdough along with a delicious cold brew finished table side. While we waited for brunch we took in the sights and sounds of this elegantly casual restaurant. The colors, the artwork, the soft music, the flowers, were all curated with an anticipation of enjoying your company and delicious food. Both entrees were beautifully crafted and delicious to eat. Our server was fun and helpful. The dining room and the retail bakery were busy but orderly. We had several questions about this site and were given generous time to chat with the GM visiting from Reno. Franklin has been our home for almost 30 years after a longer time in North Jersey and in my opinion, Perenn, Aubrey, and Tyler have been the best neighbor to come to Franklin in memory. We've sampled most everything in the bakery and have not once been underwhelmed. The baguettes are Parisian, the large croissants are amazingly delicious, especially the almond - direct from the bakers oven. My favorite is the chocolate Bouchon. It's become our celebration pastry. While we'll be back to the bakery weekly I've made a reservation for brunch in a couple of weeks to celebrate my birthday with our family. We can go anywhere, I choose to go to Perenn. Dinner service is scheduled to start next month. I am waiting with great anticipation. A Herculean concept delivered magnificently.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this delightful restaurant and continue to recommend it to everyone that will listen! The food is unlike anything we had in Franklin prior and it's all delicious. Additionally, Perenn has the best croissant (and pastries) in greater Nashville. Period. Their staff is extremely kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is beautiful. A jewel in the heart of Franklin that keeps us coming back just about once a week.

Yelp
The hype is real! Yes it feels shi-shi but it's honestly a fantastic place. We've been twice and the food and the service has been outstanding. Crowds during weekdays are minimal now, but if you want to do a sit down meal it's best to get a reservation. Beautiful setting inside and out! Smash burger is perfection, garlic confit grilled cheese was to die for (add bacon, trust me) , croissants and coffee are on point! Next to try is the ricotta pancakes- they look so good! A totally jewel for downtown Franklin.

Yelp
We got 3 baked goods, a matcha, and a rose lemonade and it was $60 including tip. That seems way too over priced for what it is. The pastries were good, but not incredible. The main thing I will praise here was the matcha cloud!!! That was amazing!

Yelp
Best almond croissant I've ever had in my life. The coffee is good too. The lines aren't as long as they were so it's your time to go!

Yelp
If you've ever wondered what it's like to spend $48 on five pastries and still leave hungry, disappointed, and mildly offended, this place has your name written all over it. We walked in with high hopes and started by ordering five pastries from the counter (yes, $48 for five and no, they weren't diamond-encrusted... though one did have gold leaf on it). Then we tried to get seated in the café to order more, but that plan quickly unraveled. There was a hostess stand but no hostess. We lingered awkwardly, waiting to be acknowledged, while staff repeatedly passed by without so much as a glance. After several minutes, we gave up and left pastries in hand, wrapped in wax paper inside a perfectly fine shopping bag. Credit where it's due: the bag was decent. Speaking of the pastries they were a disappointment. Despite being truly hungry (which usually makes anything taste better), these were dry, greasy, and lacked flavor. One pastry tasted like it had been fried in old, burnt oil. The gold leaf on one was the only thing fancy about it; the taste was forgettable. We couldn't even finish them and I wouldn't feed these leftovers to any pet of mine who always gets a nibble. Adding to the off-putting atmosphere, the place was uncomfortably warm with loads of fruit flies buzzing around not uncommon in Tennessee but it definitely stood out here. Plus, a woman who seemed to be the manager (not in uniform) was openly rude to a young staff member in front of customers. Awkward and unprofessional. We left feeling like Julia Roberts walking out of that fancy store in Pretty Woman telling the place "Big mistake. Big. Huge!" We're big foodies who usually sample most of a menu, so this was definitely a big mistake. Bottom line This place is less French bakery and more faux pas-try and that's a hard pass from us. Pastry regrets and dry croissants XOXO, Gossip Crumb

Yelp
I've eaten here for brunch and loved it so much that I made reservations for my sisters and I when they were in town. The hostess tried to seat us on the outside patio (with NO heaters) when it was 40 degrees out! She was less than kind about it so we chose to leave. There were open tables inside but she wouldn't even consider letting us have one. It'll be a while before I go back.

Yelp
The pastries are worth the wait, but the dine-in experience is otherwise overhyped, and especially overpriced. Ran into quite a few kinks while ordering takeaway, adding context to the long wait. It is beautiful in there though. Good spot in Franklin too.

Yelp
Pastries are delectable! 3 stars for the lack of parking for a loungy patisserie. Parked up front, no mention of payment for the stalls. I stroll out 90 minutes later with a ticket stating that I "overused the free parking". It did state on the stall "1 hour," but when you're enjoying a nice cup of coffee with friends, it's easy to lose track of time. Maybe next time tag a car with a warning instead of a fine. To top it off, the parking company charges a $4 online fee added to the $6 fine.

Yelp
Deposits foodie food. Great customer service. A little over priced but that's a normal thing now I guess. Cute decoration.
