"Perino’s Boiling Point is a Westbank staple, a gold standard for boiled seafood since 1972. Family-owned — Sam Perino has been in the business for more than 40 years — this is a friendly spot for fresh seafood, fried platters, and po’ boys." - Clair Lorell, Beth D'Addono

We visited during the Sunday before Mardi Gras ... and it was packed ... around 7:00 pm. Very crowded seating inside and a little outdated interior. As the name implies, they are serving seafood here. The food was very good! I had the fried shrimp basket and I also highly recommend the seafood gumbo! Despite how crazy busy it was, we had one of the hardest working waitresses that I've ever seen. She was non stop taking orders, delivering food and bringing out drinks! The wait staff here was friendly and worked hard to bring out food out quickly. I highly recommend you give this place a visit!

Google
This place is awesome!! Delightful staff, fun family/neighborhood atmosphere, food was delicious, hearty and did not scrimp on sumptuous portions! Highly recommend the roast beef po boy and hush puppies, shrimp and curly fries also out of this world, highest recommendations!!

Nothing fancy, just dive your fingers into some great Louisiana seafood! Incredible oysters, the sausage has a nice spice to it, and the 5 lb meal is a great deal! Great place to bring friends to feast!

Google
Amazing food with very good prices. Mom and Pop place with Mom and Pop serving you! Great, fast service. The charbroiled oysters are better than a more well known restaurant here in NOLA - and close to half the price! The crawfish boudin is wonderful. The owner and his wife served us and are the sweetest people. My wife and I were blown away by this local gem.

Went to Perino’s with my lover and friend! We were not disappointed… The oysters were to die for, the crawfish was amazing! Great music and beer with a laidback atmosphere and good music, thank you for the experience!!

I recently ate here with my family after getting a recommendation from a friend and the food was amazing! We ordered: Charbroiled oysters both the original (Cheese & garlic butter) and the seafood (Seafood stuffing, cheese & garlic butter). The original was a 4/5 it was well seasoned. The seafood was a 5/5 the seafood stuffed highly enhanced the flavor. If you have to choose one go with the latter. It also came with slices of French bread. The flavor was very robust. Seafood Gumbo, this was very delicious. The rice was well cooked and the gravy/soup was seasoned in a delicious way. You can't go wrong with this. There was a decent amount of meat and shrimp in it too BBQ Shrimp with potatoes, sausage and corn. This was very good. The shrimp was huge and a good portion sized. The accompany sides that was added was good. The sausage wasn't spicy just to note. The corn was boiled and flavored well Stuffed crab, this was crabbed stuffed with shrimp and seasoning. This was very tasty and was surprisingly enjoyable and so delicious. You get two servings with seasoned fries. Kids Meals Popcorn Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, and Chicken nuggets. The kids loved their meals. The shrimp has a great flavors and all the kids loved the seasoned fries. The tenders were plenty full about 6 the nuggets were about 8. More enough to stuff you child full. The popcorn was plentiful as well. Service started off string but faltered as the dinner crowd came in. Other than that this would be a 5 star review. I would come back here and I recommend the food strongly.

Google
Absolutely amazing dining experience at this Louisiana-style seafood restaurant! The flavors were authentic and rich, capturing the essence of true Southern cuisine. From the perfectly seasoned crab clusters to the deliciously spicy sausage, every dish was a culinary delight. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, enhancing our dining experience even further. If you're looking for genuine Louisiana flavors and outstanding service, this is the place to go. Five stars all the way!

Yelp
Always a great meal here https://blainerestaurantreport.com/2023/02/17/perinos-boiling-pot-harvey-la-report-552/

Yelp
Perino's is one of our favorite spots for crawdads. These were so flavorful and juicy. The oysters were super as well. Service is always friendly and attentive. You don't have to wait long for the crawdads, they just keep them coming. It's over the bridge from the city so best visited if you have wheels. Call first to make sure they have crawdads as the season is limited.

Yelp
Most recently we tried their charbroiled oysters. They were some of the best that i have had. I can not wait to go back and order some more.

Cristen M.

Yelp
The boiled and fried seafood here is SO good. Always perfectly fresh, seasoned and cooked.

Amy L.

Yelp
A cajun gem! Service is slow af but it doesn't matter. Plan in extra time. Get the fried crab claw basket and some hush puppies. Then marvel at the mountain of tasty fresh-fried claws. Side note: don't sleep on the cajun salt and Louisiana hot sauce. Srsly. Do NOT miss this! Thank me later.

J M.

Yelp
The food was amazing!!! Our favorite was the Charbroiled blue crab it was the best I've ever had. Great family meal at a decent price. We are visiting from Southern California and we loved every bite.

Kenny O.

Yelp
It's a Monday around 7. Dinner rush left, only a few tables of folks. Brenda greets us and quickly gets out drinks. We order and are very hungry. In 6 minutes we get the best onion rings ever! Everything else gets to our table in 9 minutes. Food is perfect. Brenda is perfect. A perfectly tasty dinner.

Kevin S.

Yelp
I mean...what can I say? I love crawfish and I love charbroiled oysters! It's high quality food for a good price!! Perino's is one of the best crawfish boiling restaurants in the area! They nearly win the ICS cook off every year! Tonight was a seafood night for us. We enjoyed great food and service! Restaurant ambiance is a little out there, but not bad. Smaller restaurant and bar with animals and fish along the walls.

Jose G.

Yelp
Food and service was great especially food. Food food food. Will be back . Food was exquisite. God bless

Liz J.

Yelp
This was a hidden gem we were recommended too. The food was so delicious. We got some fried alligator, bomb worthy gumbo and mouth watering oysters. This was a special place we are so glad we got to try. The service was top notch, they were ready to help order and add items if you needed. If we come back to new orleans we will be coming back!

Sandra J.

Yelp
My husband and I went on a busy Friday evening, and we were not disappointed. Service was great. Heather was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed at our table. My husband had the roast beef po-boy and I ordered the catfish platter. Both were delicious but the star of the show was the Chargrilled oysters. We ordered 2 dozen. This was hands down the BEST oyster I've ever tried and that says a lot. I've had Dragos, Neyows, Half Shell oyster, New Orleans Food and Spirits & Acme oysters and none of these spots can touch them! The garlic butter with the grated aged Parmigiano Reggiano was chefs kiss! Very rich and flavorful. I'll be back sometime later in the month for more. MUST TRY!

Yelp
I came to New Orleans for vacation, and if I ever returned or knew anyone visiting I'd send them straight here. The folks here are so incredibly kind; they were the definition of Southern hospitality.the sweetest waitress and young gentleman waiters that seemed like they were a very closeknit family business which I loved. The food was delicious and super filling, my waitress gave us tips left and right and she was on the dot for all of them. Would highly recommend getting a beer to wash down your food too, it was only $3! Loved this place and had an overall great experience

Cecee G.

Yelp
Haha Delicious gator just came from seeing them in the swamps to eating them. And man both ways are great but seriously. The gator is very tender the crawfish was great the beer was great. Our waitress was sweet and was great. My guy kept saying they gave him a whole lot of gator and that is all he wanted while visiting in Louisiana. Very very hospitable people here. I like a good restaurant with good conversation and good food and you can't go wrong. With all of that. I like giving 5 stars where 5 stars are due but they deserve a + 10. And not pricy at all. Good amount of food for a good price bravo. I forgot to take photos of the food because we were too busy eating. I can't wait to come back in May. My family will love this place. See you soon

Jess C.

Yelp
Went today for lunch. Split the 3lb boiled shrimp with my boyfriend, $39.99 mind you, and they were dry and gross. Definitely not fresh. They probably just had them left over and Reboiled them. It is our last time coming here. We most definitely won't be back. What a waste of $60 after potatoes, sausage, a coke and tip. Just pass, HARD PASS!

Carlos C.

Yelp
Amazing food & service . HIGHLY recommend... We were visiting from out of town and went twice while there ..

Theresa M.

Yelp
Let's start by saying seafood is good but at Perino's it was wonderful!! The service was excellent friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was typically New Orleans comfy. Well worth a trip back.

Arianna M.

Yelp
The service is fast. We ordered pick up and it was ready in 15 minutes. We had fish platters and the fish was fresh, but they were cut in strips. I would've preferred filets. It seemed that the strips make it seem like it's more food. Overall it was a great experience. If you're interested in dining in, it has a cafeteria feel or a pizza shop.

Brittany P.

Yelp
Amazing! Just what this Tn Girl was looking for when in New Orleans! The buckets were AMAZING!

Jay C.

Yelp
Food is really good, really spacious restaurant but tables can be pretty tight and close to each other. Full open bar menu. The chargrilled oysters are a must as well as the boiled crawfish. If your a true New Orleanian and suck the heads of the crawfish it can get spicy at times but if you much cheat yourself by only eating the tails you'll be fine. Perino's is a locals favorite and if your from out of town it's a must you eat what the locals eat.

Todd N.

Yelp
It was pretty tasty. It's 5 star for north Louisiana but down south it's pretty average at least for the charbroiled oysters

Brianna H.

Yelp
Food was descent. My husband was more excited than we were. We ended up getting chicken which wasn't bad. Oysters had a lot of cheese and were okay, not our top favorites. The boils looked much better, just not a shrimp fan. Our server was really sweet, took care of us and gave us great recommendations. Loved being able to watch the fame too!

Joe B.

Yelp
First time eating here , oyster po boy was absolutely the best I have had oyster's were perfect , service was good , clean and orderly.

Andre G.

Yelp
VERY good food! The shrimp was hot and fresh, and the gumbo was amazing! Will be a Return visit!

Tamer A.

Yelp
I have family, who live out of town. This is the first place they want to go, when they come in town. Everything is fresh. They have raw and BBQ oysters, crawfish, shrimp and crabs when appropriate for season. Most I want to rave about is their fried shrimp, the best I had anywhere because they make it thin and crunchy coating and the shrimp is cooked just right.

George M.

Yelp
The best charbroiled oysters I have ever eaten. The only con was the waitress confused my bill with someone else's but it was rectified fairly quickly. Will definitely return.

Cindy S.

Yelp
Waiters are very friendly food taste is great but it sort of but it's sort of expensive. I love to go there when I have the money I love the way the bar a restaurant looks

ReBecca K.

Yelp
Lots of work eating the crabs...BUT worth it!! So good!! whole fam loved the shrimp and corn the best!

Jerry R.

Yelp
Great place to visit when in the New Orleans area. This place is where all the locals go. I was actually recommended to go by a local. It had a large choice of items to order. Mostly Cajun style food. It was amazing my friend had a build your own poor boy and it was huge. We ordered the chargrilled oysters, calamari and assorted boil. It had crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and crab legs. Everything was amazing and the service was as well. The place was busy and you can tell a lot of people knew everyone. They have two separate areas one for dining and an area for 18 and up. It's a bar area. This place is really friendly. Your food comes out fresh and delicious. One of the best places I've been to in all Louisiana.

Alison K.

Yelp
My group of 4 had rented a car to go out to an airboat tour and oak alley so we stopped on our way back. We came specifically for the crawfish! Luckily we went to NOLA when they were in season. You could tell this is a spot for locals. We got the 5 lb platter of perfectly seasoned crawfish and chargrilled oysters to share. Server was really friendly, very casual atmosphere. Great experience, great food!

Tim P.

Yelp
Was in town for work in the area. Stopped by to try the crawfish and though I don't eat them often as I live in Clearwater Florida and not so easy to find. I mother may not agree with my review. I was not impressed by the quality of the crawfish or it was how the cooked them. Not much flavor and we're not steamy hot but cold and more mushy then another placed I visited the week prior. I just thought they were more expensive, not cooked as well, more mushy and were not hot when served. Much more expensive and sides were not that good. I will not be back and compared to another place I went to the week before there is no comparison. I am not here to bash anyone but u can read another posting about the other place. Keep in mine I am no expert to eating crawfish.

Mallory D.

Yelp
My dear friends from Louisiana made this our first stop on my trip down to visit, and I can definitely see the appeal. Between about 8 of us we must have tried everything on the menu and it was all fabulous. Never in my life did I ever think I'd eat a crawfish but I'm happy to report they are delicious here! Gumbo was great as well. The biggest appeal for me were the oysters. We opted for the seafood stuffed chargrilled oysters which were absolutely delicious and addicting. I love me some oysters and these definitely topped the list. They also have a lot of fried seafood which was tasty but I think the real draw here is the oysters and crawfish. The place is super cool and laid back which was perfect for a big noisy group. I loved it here and would come back any time.

LaShawne T.

Yelp
Janelle and Chester were amazing last night! This is my go to restaurant for lightly fried shrimp, not crazy about the french fries wish there was a substitute. You get huge butterfly Deveined shrimp fresh farm raised. I know many people have a problem with some of the waitresses they are a little snooty, borderline racist, not really sure what the problem is maybe they are just not happy with themselves. I haven't been there in a while because my husband doesn't like this restaurant for the above mentioned waitresses. However I've gone there a couple times without him and last night again I enjoyed myself thanks to Jenelle and Chester the kept me entertained while dining alone. Can't wait to go back!

Megan M.

Yelp
Meh... The GNOA disappoints again when it comes to boiled seafood. Granted, I'm a picky Cajun gal... but generally this place was mediocre at best. Hush puppies to start were delicious, but pricy. My grandmother had the shrimp basket. The shrimp were a nice size, but tastes frozen and were not seasoned at all. Nor were her fries, not even with salt. I had the Dungeness crab, which was the only reasonably priced thing on the menu. And it was okay, but under seasoned. I've had better boiled seafood from transplants in Houston. Lastly, the service was awful. Our waitress kept disappearing behind the bar just standing around not paying attention to us at all. Wouldn't waste time or money giving them another shot.

Victoria P.

Yelp
Meh. That's all I really have to say honestly. I came here because this spot was open late and a friend of mine was in town on the West Bank. The atmosphere kind of threw me off as soon as I walked in. There's dead/fake animals all over and the lighting is super bright. The restaurant is set up almost cafeteria style with the big tables and basic chairs everywhere. Not aesthetically pleasing by any means. I ended up getting crawfish and corn, sausage, and potatoes. Crawfish was super bland. No seasoning and they weren't really even hot. I doubt I'll be returning

Jennifer S.

Yelp
It's good for oysters and boiled seafood, but their fried seafood is not great. The fried fish is very fishy and soily. Also, if you have anyone in your group that doesn't like seafood, there's absolutely nothing for them. The atmosphere is extremely casual with communal seating when it busy. Overall not a fan

Anastasia S.

Yelp
Walked in and noticed two groups leaving SO HAPPY I didn't get it until I sat down. Came in wanting crawfish but it was out of season, almost left but sat down anyway. I'm not much for seafood so I planned on eating chicken strips. As soon as our server gave us a basket full of so many lil crackers and butter packets I KNEW this place was gonna be BUSSIN! Quickly switched up my order to blue crab, seafood stuffed oysters, fried calamari and LEMME TELL U I WAS IN HEAVEN. Mona was an excellent server! She taught us tricks on how to eat it right and gave us tips on what to use as dip! The whole staff was in on it too! They were soooo helpful and you can just tell they were all happy to be there. BOMB A-- place to eat! 5 star meal right there! SOOOOO BUSSIN! Taste so good makes you wanna slap yo mama Bussin!!!! 10/10 would recommend

Em L.

Yelp
I ate my friend's leftovers from this place two days after she brought it home. I have gotten sick from almost all New Orleans/Louisiana food, but I did not get sick from eating 2 day old chargrilled oysters from this place. And they were freaking delicious by the way.

Tracy R.

Yelp
What a spot! Went out for an air boat ride and they recommended perinos. What service. They ladies were all so friendly and prompt. The oysters were tasty along with the gumbo. Forgot to take pictures of all the deliciousness, but none the less you have to go. Thank you all the way from OHIO.

Roland R.

Yelp
Awesome place and good food. Friendly staff and the service is great. Feel free to grab a table. Alway busy, crawfish and oyster plates are popular. I enjoyed the fried shrimp, but the fried soft crab looked good. Everything looked good. Enjoy!

Thomas X.

Yelp
A few months ago, we went to this place with our parents from China and we all loved it! I just happened to think about this place today and wanted it soooooo bad but I'm in houston. :( The place isn't a super fancy one, maybe more family and tradition oriented but the food is good. We had 5-pound crawfish, a dozen chargrilled oysters, and fried alligator. The latter two are AMAZING! I swear I never had this delicious alligator meat at any place. Their fried food/sauce/ingredients tastes sooooo good! Now I really miss it. Someone please let us know if you have had similar quality and taste food in Houston so that I can go. I may have been just so missed it so that I sound like Houston has no better food... I believe Houston does but I just didn't find out. Nonetheless, this place is amazing. If I ever go back to New Orleans, I will definitely go back to Perino's!

Charles P.

Yelp
Good seafood, GREAT Grilled Oysters and boiled Crawfish. Check out the Animal Trophies.

Taura E.

Yelp
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Charbroiled oysters were my first ever, that I've tried. They were ok. Nothing to right home about. The crawfish were overcooked and didn't have a ton of flavor. Same for the shrimp- they were like rubber, left those on the plate. Alligator was nothing interesting either, bland batter. Had to buy potatoes and corn separately. Corn had some decent flavor /heat. The potatoes were plain, no butter. Nothing. I went on a local's recommendation so was expecting a bit more. Consider $30 round trip for the Uber and $95 for dinner for two with a couple of beers, water and a sweet tea, it's not a place I'd return or recommend. The staff were friendly. That's what the 3 stars were for. I left a 20% tip. But for a night out with $145, we might have well gone to the French Quarter for those prices.

Endya H.

Yelp
I visited Perrino's Boiling Point for the first time, back in 2011 and i really enjoyed their crawfish! They were fresh, juicy, and just spicy enough. The decor was pretty interesting at first, But reminded me of my childhood, because my grandfather was a hunter. Felt nostalgic and extremely casual. But the BEST thing they have to offer is their OYSTERS!!! So, i go around trying oysters all over because i wasn't the biggest fan and wanted to find some i could truly enjoy. I just happened to see that they sold oysters here. When i tell you, these are some of the best oysters I've ever tasted!! The seafood stuffed ones are awesome, but so are the charbroiled! I can't even say which is the best! The charbroiled cost about $18 for a dozen and the seafood costs about $21...a little more, as expected. Totally worth your time! It's a must for oysters!

Madison N.

Yelp
Went there to get crawfish and they were extremely over cooked and seasoned horribly. Which really sucks because the staff is amazing and and their fried food is great.. the name of this restaurant should make people think their boiled seafood is amazing but it's quite the opposite. Plus the crawfish has kept me on the toilet since I ate them and I eat crawfish all the time and that is not normal for me.

Paola N.

Yelp
I had to give Perino's Boiling Pot a "meh. i've experienced better." THE AMBIANCE: Perino's Boiling Pot ("Perino's") is a fairly large restaurant. I was there with a group of about eight (8) and we were sat at two (2) tables placed together. They have these large crawfish and alligator statues in the front you can take pictures with; I thought they were fun. THE FOOD: We ordered a bunch of different seafood and the seafood came in double-tier trays. The seafood came with slight seasoning. I felt like, that's it? Most of it came with no seasoning, which is fine. The seafood also came with some salted crackers in-wrapper. We all ordered large beers because beer is a necessity with seafood, as is lemon/lime. I wish Perino's had butter on the side I could dip my seafood in. The side potatoes ($2.79/lb.) were whatever. I did enjoy the Dungeness Crabs (2 clusters for $17.50), which you have to take apart as they come whole. In all honesty the winner was the new item on the menu: Charbroiled Oysters!!! I saw them on the menu and my spirit lit up with joy. We ordered the Charbroiled Oysters - Cheese and Garlic Butter Sauce ($18.98 per dozen/$10.98 per dozen) and they were delicious! I would come back only to eat these and the whole Dungeness Crabs. The rest was not worth it for me, including the regular oysters (not the kind I like; fat and slimy). THE TIPS: Charbroiled Oysters, Dungeness Crabs, and Beer. That is all.

Chris K.

Yelp
No Gimmicks, just good food all around. We where traveling from California and tried all the other hype places on bourbon st but they did not compare to the real taste and flavor of here. Staff is beyond friendly and this was a recommendation from some locals who we met at the Gator tour.

Codie Nicole A.

Yelp
First stop off the plane with my friend who's local. I said crawfish and this is where I got taken, and was not disappointed. Ordered 3lbs of crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and corn. A whole mound of food and for not that much $$! Delicious hot seasoned steamed crawfish packed with meat! There isn't much to say, its crawfish, if you know you know. I really wish I was closer right now. Guess I should've wrote this before leaving the parking lot.

Kailey W.

Yelp
Perino's didn't really stand out to me in any above-average ways. You get a good amount of food with your order, but the prices are a bit steep for the quality of the food. Nothing seemed seasoned beyond a bit of salt and pepper, which is a shame because the seafood was fried well. We ordered po' boys, the bread of which could of been a little fresher. The condiments, like lettuce and tomato, came in a little plastic container. It was a build-your-own type deal, and it kind of felt unnecessary since we weren't eating it to-go. The wait staff seemed to do a whole lot of standing around and avoiding eye contact or just flat out ignoring diners. We just weren't impressed. I don't see us coming back to this location.
