We stopped into Perk Coffee with about an hour to spare before our evening ghost tour, and it turned out to be a great decision. My wife wanted a specific drink — tea made with steamed milk and the teabag dropped in espresso-style — and the barista executed it perfectly. She enjoyed it so much that we ordered a second round. The café itself has a very cozy, comfortable atmosphere, with a creative studio-like feel that makes it a pleasant place to relax. We loved the vibe and the friendly service. Overall, a wonderful stop with excellent drinks and a warm ambience. A great place to unwind if you are in the area.

I had to hunker down here and work on school during a trip. The owner was amazing and kind, the coffee was fantastic, and the muffins I had were delicious. The WiFi connection was great so if you need a place to do some work I recommend this one. Finding an outlet ti charge my laptop where I was sitting was easy too. Would recommend.

Cute little coffee shop across from amstrong park. The seasonal drinks were good and NOT too sweet. Good quality espresso prepared well. It’s a new business so highly recommend checking it out and supporting! Has vegan milk options

Perk is exactly what you’re looking for when traveling to NOLA. Their menu is simple, straightforward, and executed with warm hospitality. The environment is cute without being kitschy, and feels like it has been in the space far longer than 8 months. The a/c is perfect to escape the heat, and the owner is a lovely conversationalist.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The "Cold Start" Sanctuary: Best Quiet Morning Spot Near the Quarter The Vibe: ❄️☕️🎧 Perk is the perfect "airlock" between the French Quarter's tourist chaos and Treme's cultural depth. On a brisk winter morning, the signature red door stays propped wide open—it's fresh, breezy, and designed to wake you up, not lull you to sleep. What I Ordered: Hot Matcha Latte ($5.50): 🍵 Earthy, creamy, and unsweetened. It's a perfect thermal anchor for the cool room. This is real matcha, not the sugary green milk you get at chains. Bearcat Pastries: 🥐 This is the insider hack—Bearcat is the legendary local brunch spot with 90-minute waits. Perk stocks their pastries, so you get the quality without the line. The Space: Seating: Metal Tolix chairs and high communal tables. Not designed for 3-hour laptop marathons, but perfect for focused 45-90 minute sessions. Soundtrack: Curated Neo-Soul and R&B—rhythmic enough to keep you alert, smooth enough for deep work. Art: The gallery wall features moody fashion photography and retro-kitsch prints. It feels like a design studio, not a generic cafe. Temperature: In winter, the open-door policy means you keep your jacket on. It's not cozy—it's crisp, oxygenated, and energizing. Location Context: Right on N. Rampart Street facing Armstrong Park and Congo Square. You get a perfect view of the historic park without being in the tourist flow. Easy street parking is usually available (a rarity for this area). Best For: ✅ "Morning Strategists" planning their day ✅ Solo travelers escaping the Quarter ✅ Remote workers who need fresh air ✅ Anyone escaping the humidity/crowds Not Ideal For: ❌ People seeking a warm, hibernation nap spot ❌ Large groups (seating is limited) The Verdict: Skip the lines on Decatur. Come here to actually think, caffeinate properly, and experience the real boundary between old New Orleans and the tourist machine.

I stopped by Perk during my weekend in New Orleans and loved the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We even got to chat with a friendly local while we were there! The Blondies were absolutely delicious, and the croissants—especially the sausage-stuffed one—were great. Everything was high quality and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Google
Great decor, great coffee, friendly service, a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I think the owner's name is Alex? and we were lucky to go there when it wasn't busy so that we could ask her questions about her recent opening and the really great decor.

Yelp
Lovely little coffee shop on the edge of the Quarter. I had an awesome salted caramel latte that was delicious! The barista was friendly and patient and a master of latte art. Parking is easy enough because it's on rampart on the outskirt of the Quarter, but be careful not to park in a driveway! Def going to stop by again next time I'm getting my nails done next door!

Yelp
Cute little spot right on rampart. Small quaint and homey interior, super fun decor, barista was attentive and knowledgeable. Woman owned and operated. Got a double corridor with lavender and vanilla. Exactly what a cortado should taste like (I know the flavors make it not classic, get off me coffee snobs.) but it was smooth, rich, and just perfect. Partner had an iced coffee and loved it as well. Will be returning. Thanks for the perk-up Perk!

Yelp
Perfect spot to grab a coffee if you are in The Quarter! Buy Local, if you are from out of town, this is the kind of place that makes NOLA different from other places! And in a good way!! LOL

Yelp
Great coffee. Great service. Great vibes. You know what they say right? More espresso, less depresso.

Yelp
Got a latte. It was expensive and not good. Ended up cutting it with the hotel coffee if that says anything! Also I went early around 7 am but they had no pastries yet? Service was ok and place was cute but that's about all I can say.

Yelp
Incredible decor, feels like an art gallery meetings coffee bistro. The owner served me, as affable and hospitable as can be. Great coffee, great service, stunning ambiance. Also, female lead team which always a plus in small business.

Yelp
We came in here looking for a good coffee before our cemetery tour. The lady wouldn't answer my questions and had a sarcastic attitude. She made us feel uncomfortable and not welcome at this place. Decoration is cute, coffee was okay but not worthy the price and bad service. If we waited a little bit we could have gotten coffee at the tour!!!! They had coffee there and it was way better. Skip the bad experience please!

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting from out of town. The coffee is really good. Smooth. Fun holiday specials too.
