Nice hidden gem. Off the beaten path for a tourist. Not a large seasonal list but they do the basics very well! Recommend the iced mocha.

Super cute little cafe. Cozy vibes and friendly service with high attention to detail. The barista used a scale when extracting the coffee which is usually a good sign. And it did not disappoint. Delicious specialty grade espresso. I recommend you check it out if you’re around.

This is a cafe in midtown east. The staff is nice and I got 4 pastries. I would recommend the almond croissant. There are quite a number of customers with computers working in the cafe, for which I guess the cafe provides a nice and quiet environment. There are a variety of coffee and snacks too.

This place was recommended by a friend to visit during our trip to NYC. It was right by our hotel and was the perfect place to grab a quick coffee before starting our day. I love how small and quaint it is. With the limited seating, it has a cozy atmosphere. The staff was nice and we got our drinks quickly. They didn't have any GF treats but that's ok, our coffee was really good. We stopped by here a few times during our trip. We were so appreciated to our friends for the recommendation.

I'd highly recommend Perk to any NYC locals or anyone visiting NYC for the first time. The service at Perk is fantastic. It's an amazing local shop if you want to stop in and just get a really good cup of coffee for the road, but Perk also has an amazing atmosphere. If you're looking for a coffee shop that has that vibe of a NYC coffee shop that you'd see in Friends or a movie, Perk is definitely the coffee shop to go to. It's an awesome place to sit down and read a book or get work done while having some of the best coffee in town.

Came here for a coffee and got what I came for. Cheaper and better and not the least much nicer atmosphere than your *bucks. Coffee well brewed of a Colombian medium roast. So if you know you like that profile, this is a good choice. Free wifi.

Almost perfect cappuccino, and it is very rare outside ITALY! Very nice pastries (almond croissant is special) and good choice of oats and yogurts. During the week is always full of nice people and music playlist is always ok! Nice to spend here part of your working day or starting here your day around NYC.

The coffee here is AMAZING! I'm from out of town and this was so worth the walk. Great way to start the day in NYC. Got the 5 oz espresso with milk and lavender syrup, yum 😋

This is one of my nyc happy places. There's not many cute & cozy cafes around midtown but this cafe is perfect for when I'm around the area. Great coffee, fun pastries, cozy ambiance, and friendly service. It's the kind of cafe that you get regulars at, which is refreshing because the surrounding area is super corporate. A very lovely little cafe :) I would say prices are standard nyc coffee prices. Also if you're looking to sit down as a big group, I would note that the there's limited seating inside.

Found this quaint little coffee shop on the east side. Inside there's a decent amount of seating, especially like the large table in the middle, great to get some work done there. I ordered a classic caramel iced latte, flavor was quite good. Solid coffee spot in the city.

Got an iced honey latte, and it was pretty solid! Not much of an almond flavor so I am assuming it is almond milk and not flavoring in the drink. Cute little place for a coffee with a few seats inside. I would definitely stop by again to try their rose latte, but nothing out of this world.

My friend and I stopped by after lunch this past Friday since Perk Coffee was conveniently a block away from where we were. There isn't a lot of seating, but we were able to find a table to enjoy a pastry and coffee while catching up. My friend got a chocolate croissant that he enjoyed. I got the HONEY ALMOND LATTE (hot) which was smooth and creamy, but I found it much too sweet. The nuttiness of the almond milk was enjoyable though.

Perk Coffee is a very nice little shop on 37th, near where we were staying at the Shelburne Sonesta. It is not marked very well. It seems like a very friendly place, with several people working in it. I had a chai latte and a cranberry scone. The chai latte was very good while the scone was just kind of OK. Others order the mochaccino and a regular latte. They both liked them. Service was friendly and pretty quick. It is worth a visit.

I stopped here to but a hot chocolate with an espresso shot sinc eit was a cold day and i needed a but of a pick me up. The inside was clean and well lit considering it a a par-basement location. The staff member was nice and easy going. He was able to get my drink out quickly with out issue. You can have the drink to stay which they will put in the mugs or in to go cups if needed. The hot chocolate with the espresso shot tasted great and it did perk me up. It had a bit more of the espresso shot flavor than the hot chocolate but it was still sweet and delicious.

Standard lil coffee shop with standard lil selection of coffee! Coffee is good, and the guys behind the counter are always super friendly. There's a couple of seats where you can work or study (+ free wifi), but I recommend coming with fully-charged devices (or a long charging cable). Not a lot of table space as well, so wouldn't come with too many things.

Review is only for their matcha latte. Sadly, this was a very milky drink, with rarely any hints of matcha taste in it. It was very telling when I received the drink and saw how pale the green color was. Starbucks has a stronger matcha taste than this. For $6, I expected better. They have a mint matcha latte, but it's only offered in the hot form.

Easy to miss if you're not paying atttention but upon finding it, it's totally worth it! Perk Cafe is perched on 37th aand 3rd in Murray Hill. I was in the area and craving a fall flavored drink (i.e. caramel, apple or pumpkin spice) that wasn't from a chain. I stumbled across Perk and was recommended the Brown Sugar Latte by the kind barista! I like especailly sweet drinks at first sip it caught me off guard because it was giving REAL coffee but a few swirls and 3 sips in, I was addicted! Friendly, warm, cozy coffee shop to stop by!

Huge huge fan of this coffee shop. I come whenever I can from work. It is quaint, light filled, and peaceful. The coffee is my favorite in this area (the homemade brown sugar cinnamon latte especially) and I enjoy the little collection of books they have in the corner for customers to enjoy while sitting in the cafe.

Perk on East 37th Street at Third Avenue has been on my to go list for years. I'm a huge fan of the Perk across the street from my apartment. Today I decided to take the train down to get my early coffee. I was not disappointed. It's the same laid back atmosphere with jazz playing this morning. The barista was familiar as he used to work at the Upper East Side location. My coffee was delicious while I sat at a clean table. There's a unisex restroom which I didn't need to use at the time. I did get a look inside and it's clean and cute. It's a great choice for coffee when I'm in this neighborhood. They serve the same pastries as the UES location. Everything is priced reasonably for Manhattan. I'm highly recommending!

Great place! We went there on a Saturday morning and it was bustling yet with a great vibe. I loved my cortado, and my wife loved her mint matcha latte. The staff was great! Very welcoming and helpful about making a selection. The croissant sandwiches were delicious. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Such a cute and warm spot. The counter staff is really kind, and the coffee is solid. I also enjoy the large table they have in the middle (often shared) and they have a good internet connection to send a few emails out while enjoying breakfast. My fave coffee spot in NYC.

The coffee is amazing. So flavorful and my decaf was divine. We also ordered a ham and cheese croissant and cheddar scone. All was delicious. The scone was a little dry but may be better warmed up. But overall the service was quick.

Great place to stop by and catch up with a friend. The space is small though so your conversation will carry easily to people studying nearby. But, bathroom, wifi, outlets and good coffee are all checks. Small space though so you may have trouble finding a spot. Quaint little coffee shop that gets the job done. I was staying a couple blocks away at the Pod hotel, and I had already tried some other nearby shops that have more of a social media presence. The morning I was heading out of town, I just wanted a place that was convenient and would get me caffeinated. This place checked both boxes. I went for a pumpkin spice latte, which is one of their seasonal flavors. Some places will overload PSLs with sugar and flavoring, but this one was quite a light flavor. Much appreciated I don't know that I would make a special trip to go here, but if you're in the area, it was a quick in and out with prices about what you'd expect for Manhattan, maybe a bit less. It looked like they may have some seating, but it's a small space, so I would treat it as a grab and go.

Grabbed an everything croissant and almond honey latte - both were excellent. Service was great, very accommodating and friendly. Plenty of seating, very nice setup.

Came here to wfh on a Friday and I loved the space! They have wifi and it's not too loud. The barista was super friendly and very helpful in helping me choose a drink, considering I'm very early in my coffee connoisseur journey. I also did not think it was too expensive compared to other coffee shops in the area. Will for sure be coming back!

The coffee is great (especially the cold brew) and the staff here are very nice and make a real effort to say hi to regulars. The vibe is also great, and there's a good amount of seating for how small the cafe is. Will continue to come in almost every day!

The best latte we've had in NYC, hands down!!!!! We've decided to give Perk a try after reading so many great reviews about this place. Upon walking in, I was a bit disappointed to see how tiny the place is, thinking we might have to look for another coffee shop that's bigger, where we can actually stay for couple hours to do some studying. Lucky for us, there was an empty bench by the door. We decided to sit there while I searched for the next coffee shop. Well, that plan didn't last long when we both took the first sip of the latte and agreed it was freaking delicious, enough for us to wait it out for someone to leave just so we could order another cup later lol. The whole coffee shop probably has about 15 seats altogether. There's one big community table right in the middle, maybe 2 small tables that could fit 2 people, and couple stools facing the street. Even tho the place is tiny, everyone from the owner to the patrons are extremely nice and friendly. We all knew not to take up too much space with all our stuff laying out, and no one was taking a whole small table to themself either. .5 star for atmosphere We got to try a couple latte plus pastries. I can't say enough how good their latte is. You just have to try it for yourself. The pastries we had were also good. They don't offer any savory options, but that's really not a deal breaker at all. 3 stars for quality and latte art. We did stayed for a little over 2 hours right until 5mins before they closed. The owner was so nice to offer my SO an almond croissant free of charge right before we left. He said they were closing for the night and weren't going to keep any of the pastries, but turned out, my SO expressed interest in an almond croissant earlier, but decided to go with a healthier option instead. We were both surprised he kept notice and so nice to offer us freebie. 1 star Don't let the small shop deter you. It really is a hidden gem and offers the best coffee in NYC (at least out of the 3, 4 places we have been to so far here). We will definitely come back next time we are in town again. Definitely a cute coffee shop atmosphere where I might cozy up with a book or newspaper. Sadly, the barista wasn't the friendliest when it came to asking for suggestions and also didn't seem to put much care or effort into making the drinks such as when he pulled the espresso.

While visiting NYC I encountered this small but cute coffee shop near by my hotel , the customer service was good and friendly. My coffee tasted great and they have a great selection of syrups. I got an iced lavender latte with vanilla syrup , I'm definitely coming back

Every time I visit the city I always take a trip to Perk for a coffee. Their iced caramel oat latte is simply unmatched. I just moved to Manhattan full time and will be a frequent customer here from now on!! Love this spot!

Love this spot. Cold brew is great, staff is friendly and even walked me through how I can brew it at home. Now I come here for beans and a free coffee that comes with them every week

Lovely secret nook, grabbed an iced latte around 2pm and it was perfectly blended and smooth. Great vibe.

A small cafe that may be easy to miss, but I'm glad I stopped by. The staff was very friendly. They didn't have Chai and was apologetic. I switched my order to a latte, and it was nicely made. I think I only saw a handful of seats and a couple of tables. Some people were chatting, and some were studying. I liked the atmosphere. Menu was not expansive, but I appreciated the "no frills" aspect.

This is probably my favorite coffee destination on the upper east so occasionally I'll pop into this midtown location (I think the OG perk) for an americano. They make a great tasting americano from stumptown blends. Their pastries aren't bad, a selection of colson/dough and other outsourced bakeries. The space is cozy, but enough for 15 people so I was able to chill by the window front. I could see myself relaxing here on a day off and people watching in this quiet part of gramercy/midtown south. Now I just need a day off...

Wow after my Yelp post I got a email. Hi Jem, Thanks for reaching out to us and letting us know of the unpleasant experience you had on Dec 27th. I was away for the holidays and immediately looked into this when I returned last week. This was not the first time we had complaints about the barista that you encountered. We put him on a program to improve his interaction with customers and it appears that it is not working. Thanks for letting us know since many employees tend to be on their best behavior when the owners are around but revert to their old ways when we are not. After speaking to other employees here about his recent behavior, we parted ways with him yesterday. Again, I apologize for the poor experience..... Rose oat milk latte here is my go to. Waking up and going downstairs to grab coffee from perk was such a wonderful start to every day. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Small space, but very cozy. Love the glass awning at the entrance. Great place to sit and work all day.

This is my favorite coffee shop in NYC! It's a cute coffee shop and it always smells amazing in there. There's a few seat options but it's definitely a nice and cozy place to enjoy your drink and work if you want! I love their latte and matcha latte.

Came here with a friend for coffee and it was not a pleasant experience. The barista was extremely unfriendly and was half wearing a mask on their face. They did not welcome us or interact with us in any positive way. We felt like a bother to him. There are 20-30 other coffee places in Murray Hill I would recommend. This is not one of them. I won't be going back.

Another cool java joint in Murray Hill. I walk in about 3pm and the small place is packed out. I see a high end espresso machine. I walk up to the counter and ask what different drinks do you serve? We start talking and I chose a small Flat White which is less milk than a latte. Score one for the team! I start BS'ing with the barista, I tell him I'm from Long Island. He said, I knew it from your accent! Damn hipster, gimme my friggin' coffee.. The coffee was on point, I like this little shop. Next time, no talking. A little less talking a little more action here..

Small place with a fair amount of seats. The barista is super nice. Love the vibe there, the sunlight through glass is great to enjoy. And i saw several cute dogs during my 3 hours sit lol I ordered a cup of cold brew, and it didn't rly impress me. Might try something else there next time.

The brown sugar oat milk seasonal latte is what dreams are made of. All the right flavors combined for the best coffee I've ever had in a cup. My kids LOVE the banana nut muffins here. The staff is super friendly, too!

Staff was very kind. I got an expresso with oat milk and a pump of caramel. It wasn't the best coffee I've ever had, but it was good. It didn't have a bitter taste. The vibes of this place is also very cute, however it is very small.

Tiny little whole in the wall making incredible coffee drinks. They only serve beans from Stumptown (a Portland based company). We ordered the seasonal brown sugar cinnamon latte and mocha, both iced. They were not too sweet making it easy to taste the coffee. The mocha had tiny shavings of chocolate, it was reminiscent of a coffee dessert, so yummy! Extra bonus points to Perk for having oat milk and paper straws! I'll be back next time I'm in the city.

This place had probably the strongest matcha latte I have had. My friend said her coffee was strong too. A cute little shop. No line when we went so super quick in and out. They have alternative milks.

Was in the area one Saturday and decided to stop in, as it's one of the most highly-rated coffee shops in the neighborhood. I opted for an iced honey almond latte, which was really good. Not too sweet, which I prefer.

Really cute hole in the wall coffee shop in Murray Hill close to where my spouse has occupational therapy at NYU. Not a super fan of Stumptown coffee ( I like darker roast coffees) but it was cozy and a good place to unwind. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious and they have free wifi if you're into that. Service is friendly and the bathroom was clean as well.
