Great meal, excellent service, & wonderful ambiance! The band was lively & complimented the space well. Perlot is great for both special & everyday occasions. The food is really outstanding!! Soft shell crab, fried oyster, raviolo, brussels sprouts, & strawberry shortcake were all top notch. Kudos to Chef Patrick McKee!

I’m apprehensive about posting this because it is in my neighborhood and I love that I can walk in and get a table on a Saturday night, but alas, give credit where credit is due... the food is of high quality and the preparation is phenomenal. A three course is affordable, and the drink selection is top notch! I love this place and I highly recommend it. Oh, and there is live jazz!!

My wife and I came in on a Saturday night for the live jazz and dinner. This place is unique in Portland for its live jazz--the musicians were amazing. If you're a fan of jazz music, or really any live music, don't miss this place. We were shocked there was no cover, the quality of music would certainly justify it. The food was very good. I would say some of the negative reviews on food miss the point--this place may well be the best value right now in the Pacific Northwest for live jazz and food (together).

We have been to Southern several times and really enjoy it. The ingredients are fresh and local as much as possible. This last time we had a beer salad that was great. Raw thinly sliced beets were flavorful and crispy. The cornmeal oysters are excellent. Actually, we have enjoyed everything we have eaten here. We will definitely be how back.

Absolutely great! We had the best time. The food which was part of the Portland dining month deal, multicourse meal at special price was great. They had paired wines for a price too which were fantastic and the wine maker served us! So good. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Highly recommended! I went here for dinner with my husband and a couple friends last night and everything was amazing! The food was absolutely decadent! The drinks were delicious and the staff was extremely attentive and wonderful to interact with! We will definitely be coming back soon!

First things first, have the asparagus with crab and prosciutto. It's amazing. I also really liked the sweet potato bisque and that hint of chocolate powder was tantalizing. I can't speak to some of the staples because I'm GF, but when I asked I was given honest answers about what I could eat and I loved it. We descended with a large group. The bar was hopping. The bar tender remained in really good spirits. Everyone was comfortable and happy. My friends who had the other dishes really enjoyed them... and those Brussels sprouts smell insanely good. They have a great selection of bourbons and ryes; I had Basil Hayden's. Others had cocktails and seemed pleased. Considering I had two dishes and a nice drink, I felt that the bill was very reasonable. And I really did enjoy the decor/ambiance. I will certainly come back

Delicious. A bit pricey and a stiff atmosphere. But food is amazing. Service was less than ideal, but manager stepped in to help. Sign of well run establishment. Unique drink menu has a bit of everything. Bar is back of house has great atmosphere but limited seating. Make reservations if you can.
