The bartender was super cool with a big smile on his face & gave us a warm welcome. It's a cool bar to hang out what friends for beers and cocktails....Especially on weekends there are live bands. You should check it out!

Amazing Bar offering so many drink choices for you to choose from. The Bartender Mateo is not only Friendly but, Knowledgeable about making you the drink you want but also suggesting something better to sooth your pallet. Very lively place. In terms of nightlife, I'd say it's in the top 3 places in Downtown HB. It seems like there is always something going on at this place even on Weekdays. In fact, I stopped in on a Monday night at around 10pm and there was a band playing inside. As one imagine, the atmosphere is quite upbeat. The prices are about what you'd expect for a place like this right downtown. Certainly not a bargain, but nothing outrageous. Overall, this place is worth the visit if you are looking for a good nightlife scene.

For a long time standing local bar (just off the beaten sandy Huntington beach path, but still close enough to feel the cool ocean air on your face) this the place to be. From local bands to broadcasted tunes this is a wonderfully welcoming and friendly watering hole for both locals and visitors. Happy hour specials keep patrons from going broke and drinks are delicious, be advised some bartenders have heavier hands than others, but all are worth generous tipping. It's the perfect spot to celebrate a long time frequent flyer or fade into the shadows, for all are welcome. As a visitor I feel as though the customer service reciprocated what I gave (not based on who I knew or sat with). So if you're 21-101 yrs old and wanting to engldulge yourself in an eclectic environment this is where the festivities begin and end. Celebrating America's birthday-I'm glad I stopped into this local bar and was welcomed like a local.

Fun place to hang our for some drinks and to people watch. Lots of different motorcycles stop here and across the street and they are fun to see. There were also a number of classic cars and even an old guy with his C8 Corvette who kept trying to convince others it was worth admiring. He even bolstered his pitch with a model RC Corvette he would drive around on the sidewalk. Apparently he is a regular.

I've not eaten the food but if it's Anything like the drinks, you will be thrilled. This place is fire. Best band, drinks, energy in the area. Karaoke night offers fun and acceptance. Come get you party on with this place

I've been here a few times now but my most recent was last weekend and my longest visit. (The first couple of times were for a quick shot or 1 drink then we bounced). This time my friend and I hung out for a couple of hours and caught up (we hadn't seen each other in a month). The bartender that was working was super sweet! They have a fantastic deal of $5 jäger shots!! (It's our favorite). *heart eyes*

Came here on a Sunday. Walked in with the upmost best vibes. Cody at the door was an actual doll. The dude behind the bar was the least interesting entity in that place. So rude. His service was so slow. More worried about his girlfriend and her friends. Not going to lie on the review I 100% took a lime out the tray after asking for it but not receiving it, I did not contaminate THE ENTIRE FRUITE TRAY. I ONLY TOOK LIKE A LIL FINGER TO TAKE THE TIP OF A LIME OUT OF IT. I bartend myself I'm not an idiot. Wish for the best from you guys. I come here when I want a cool divey feel. The dog friendly environment makes me loves this place. Please do better on who you employ. Totally understand my fuck up on touching the service tray and grabbing my own lime but never would have felt the need if your bartender was adequate at his job. Had to remind him to serve us even after we ordered . God bless

I am a repeat customer, this place is amazing! The staff has been nothing but nice to me every time I have come in here. They have every drink you could want for a great night out. The live bands that have performed here have been outstanding. This place is always a great vibe, best place to party at in Downtown HB

Listen, I used to work in food service. And then, after that, retail. I've experienced the full spectrum of humanity, and it was often unpleasant. I learned fairly quickly that I lack the temperament to handle people en masse, particularly when they're inebriated. The female bartender here is long overdue for a similar come-to-Jesus moment. Her name escapes me but she's racially ambiguous, dark-haired, and filled with all of the warmth and hospitality of unsanctioned CIA torture. Seriously girl, why are you here? During the 4 hours my friend and I were there I watched her snap at people on the dance floor, snap at the bouncer watching the dance floor, snap at her fellow bartender, and then, finally, snap at actual paying customers. It was so unpleasant that my friend and I left despite wanting to stay. And I thought you know, hey, people have off nights, maybe we caught her on a bad one. But I mentioned my experience to someone else, someone who frequents this place with his friends often, and he said it's a regular occurrence. I awarded two stars, as opposed to one, because the TouchTunes was fun and I enjoyed the people there. Many of them are in town for the air show and I hope this lone, excruciatingly unlikeable bartender doesn't color their opinion of the city. Pro tip: Killarney's down the street is plenty busy with none of the attitude. 2nd Floor is cool too.

I come here all the time. Marcus, Kyle and Malory are the most attentive bartenders. They create relationships with the locals and treat everyone with respect. I love this bar because of these three!

My boyfriend and I stopped here Tuesday night and had an oddly unpleasant experience with the female bartender. He ordered a Long Island and I ordered a Vodka Cran with a splash of soda. My boyfriend then asked if it was too late to change his order and if she had already started his Long Island. She snapped back "I can't make a Long Island that fast. Rude." She then began up a glass with soda. I reminded her it was a vodka cranberry with a splash of soda. She was pretty irritated by this. I decided to leave and will not be returning to this place. Looks like I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with her.

Super cute little dive bar in Huntington Beach. We were on vacation in Cali and this place was awesome We didn't get food, only drinks. There is definitely karaoke and good vibes. The bartenders were awesome and efficient. This is a neighborhood hang out for sure if you live in the area!

Incredibly blessed to walk in here on Thanksgiving. I was welcomed with open arms, a beer and a potluck. Instantly felt like I belonged and will be back the next time I'm in town. Much love and appreciation to everyone I met!

Bartender was nothing but utmost disrespectful upon first interaction. I simply moved a trash can with a seat to sit next to my friend and got greeted with grief from the bartender. Instead of letting me know respectfully with a "Hey you mind leaving the trash can there it's my well", I was informed with "that's there for a reason, and not leaving it out on the walkway" (which I didn't by the way) and gives me a smirk laugh. Gives me a bold idea of the customer service here. Definitely not earning my businesses ever again. Whichever bartender there that had dollar coined-size ear piercings is better off as a dmv employee.

This is a really cool spot and if you are lucky enough, the front window seats are some of the best in town. That said, we had a bad experience with the touch tunes. We wanted to hear a little country, connected to the Touch tunes and paid for our music. Well the male bartender had other plans, lowered the music and eventually bypassed the music selections we made and paid for. What's the point of a touch tunes? I guess he said the music reminded him of his ex man. Bro get over it.

Just DONT! We live 3 blocks from this dive bar and we wouldn't go here if it was the last place on earth. The bartender "Jay" is so so rude. She makes her $ trying to turn it into a bikini bar catering to 3 or 4 of her "regular" old men and dissing everyone else. ‍ Way overpriced, dead bar, horrible atmosphere. To be fair, this is not a review of the music venue. But I can give the bouncers that work here a 1 as they too have proved to be unfriendly a-holes. HB has so many great options to this s**t hole. Love this place. Music is great. People watching is great. Generous pour. Everything you want out of a dive bar. Older crowd vs rest of Main Street which is nice.

The worst bar in Hunting Beach! Terrible food and even worse drinks. Had a great night last time, but whoever was there the next day was unbelievably rude. Will not go again even though we live 2 blocks away. Hard pass.

We waited forever for a drink. There were less than 20 people there and it looked like the bartender was more interested in flirting with the regulars than pouring us a drink. We left without ordering food because it felt like we were an annoyance to the staff.

Matt is HORRIBLE. I have been a loyal customer at Perq's for 10 years and he literally and physically shoved me out of the way for no reason. I had been at the bar for about an hour, listening to my favorite band "Those Guys"! I absolutely love Katie, their lead singer, and I brought a friend for the second time to enjoy the music. I was hanging out with Eric (the old bouncer/door security) and enjoying the band. Out of nowhere, and for no reason at all... Matt decided that I was in the way, and he made a huge scene. He was rude, disrespectful, and an absolute asshole. He needs to be fired. Dave, if you are going to employ people like this, then I have no respect for the business. I am in the industry, a restaurant manager, and I know how all of this works. If you have people like that, employed by you, it will not go well. Matt, you're an absolutely unhappy person. You don't deserve the job that you have and you have no business being in the industry. Any man that pushes a woman for no reason, deserves no respect. It's no wonder that you're in the situation that you are. I highly advise any woman that goes into this bar, to not deal with Matt. He's an egotistical asshole and male chauvinist pig. He will treat you like shit for no reason, no matter how long you have been a faithful customer. He doesn't give a crap about anybody. Avoid going into Perqs when he is working. Take it from a local who's been going there for 10 years.

We wanted to car watch the Main Street on Huntington Beach so we tried Perqs. It's just a bar, they don't serve food but the bartender was great. We snagged a table that looked outside but the bar had plenty of seating that was great. We ordered a draft beer and bloody Mary's. The beer was cold and the Bloody Mary's were very good. Pricing was a plus! Would definitely try again

I luv Perq's however today 6 -4 -23 at around 12 pm iI got totally cheated. We went there after breakfast at wet dogs , excellent drinks and food . We then proceeded to perqs orderd drinks paid the 42 dollar bill with a hundred got 8 dollars back complained and got kicked violently out the bar wtf. Really .. Watchch out for cheaters. Sorry just pussed....

Tall dark skin bartender is literally MENTALLY ILL, we wanted to order drinks and it was crowded , Suddenly out of no where she screamed at us to leave ,but that was not enough for her , then she did a drama show telling the bouncer we need to leave screaming like a psycho,the bouncer knew she was being crazy , he didn't agree with her but stil told us to leave, we told the bartender that all we wanted to do is order a drink, Does the management know she is mentally not their?like this is not normal , I am sure 100 % that she is mentally I'll becouse we did nothig Rong, it's not ok that they have mean bartenders she literally had a public tantrum out of no where ,

So there was 6 of us who went to this Shi! Hole bar. There was a guy at the bar who kept bothering us. We totally kept our back to him but he would not leave us alone. The low life manager came out and said this is a regular here and asked all 6 of us to leave. We said we have done nothing. He said my regular has an issue with all of you. Fine we left. This place is a trash bar. Would not recommend. Please go out of business. Total losers here.

I read reviews and visited. I'm beyond sad...I'm 50yo...front doorman with a long beard plowed me! Heart breaking...not sure what the angle is, however, I'm too old to have a young door man be mean to me. I'm the person who loves HB, Bars, and fun...

First time being here. It was not busy when I came here, so we were serviced right away. The bar was pretty clean and there were plenty of seats. Drinks were good and the bartender was nice! Good customer service!

You guys got to check out the hourglass effects when they come to Perqs. They make whole night fun and play old school music.

Bouncer on Weekends is aggressive towards women and the bartender Jay think it was served wrong drinks and gave us attitude. She seemed like she was on some upper if you know what I mean. She was all over the place and so unprofessional and rude. Worst bar I've ever been to

Bartender "J" or Jay... Asian lady who thinks is the best looking in the world is rude AF. I come here for Tim the bartender. He is a friend but every time I come he has the worst attitude. I just over heard her say something nasty about me and my friend and said "I'm don't play games". Too bad, Because I am a great tipper. Women like her need to be checked. Killed my happy mood just with one little word of hers. She knows who we are and cards us every single time. I never argue, I am happy to prove I'm of age... I am a woman in my thirties. I can't stand her, and I wish management would take action. However, like a lot of other bars in Downtown HB they don't support their customers. Thats okay, I will always make sure never to order from her. Never ever. Never. She is the rudest girl ever in this place.

Great spot beers are the cheapest on Main Street downtown Huntington Beach. The Pier is very close by you can enjoy live music as well

Perqs is your standard dive bar. It is probably the diviest bar on Main St. During the day you'll find the older regulars sitting at the window watching the passers-by. They often have a live band performing at night, and when they don't you can use the modern jukebox to choose your own tunes. The good is that the drinks are really reasonably priced. I ordered a Titos and soda and it was only $7. They do have TVs and it is almost always really loud inside. Happy Hour runs M-F, 3-6pm, and all day on Wednesdays. Domestic pints are $3, premium pints are $4, and all liquor is $2 off. Not a bad deal!

My boyfriend and I met up with a few of his friends the last Saturday of February to celebrate his birthday. They had a live band for the evening, which was nice. I would say it's a bit of an older crowd. I'm pretty sure our group was the youngest there, but that was fine. We got there at about 9ish and it was already pretty packed, so we weren't able to get a table or anything. They were having some sort of going away shindig, which took up a corner of the bar. I don't remember the bartenders name, but they were all pretty friendly and quick with their service, despite the busy night. For being our first time there, it was pretty chill. The guys enjoyed their time, the beer, and the music, so I can definitely say I would make a second visit.

Love this place. Fun times, great music. Jake made us feel at home. Cold beer, Strawberry Vodka!? Who knew. Band was fantastic. Those Guys Band Katy Brezden rocks. Right by the beach. We'll be back.

When I first moved to Huntington Beach, a friend warned me: Don't go to DTHB on Fri and Sat nights. A lot of people from 909 come to escape the heat, they can't handle their liquor and they start fights. I had to check this out for myself. I found out most of the idiots were from 714 and 949, and surprisingly right from Huntington Beach. I still don't hang out in DTHB much on Fri and Sat night, but at least I know its the locals who actually cause the trouble and blame it on a few of the out of the area peeps. Perq's is usually one of the stops for me and my friends in DTHB. We prefer it here compared to Fred's or some of the other "bro" bars. Although, you can find another type of clientele that rhymes w/ "bro" here too - LOL!!! The bartenders and servers are nice. The ambiance is pretty basic: A bar on the left, tables on the right and a floor in the back for the band. The bathrooms are also clean: 3 Stars for both. What I like about this place vs the "bro" bars is that it is more low key and there are no a$$holes in here. In DTHB, that is a small commodity at times.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! It's so dirty and the entire bar smells like PUKE. The bar tenders are super rude, when I asked the african American bar tender why it smelled so bad she was really incredibly rude, and called me entitled. Obviously she doesn't like white people and after reading all the bad reviews about her on Yelp I'm puzzled as to why she still works there. They also have over 7 health violations. Disgusting.....

So I came in with my pit bull because it used to be one of my favorite places to go On Main Street the guy bar tender was completely f***ing rude and disrespectful. Told me that I had to leave because me dog was off leash ..... though she was in my lap ? When I went Up to the bar to order all the customers were happy to see my pet and wanted to pet her but the male bartender told me I had to leave because she was "off leash " But happy to see small dog owners are perfectly welcomed to have their dog off leash and walk around . So it's clearly a breed discrimination got it . But it's fine to take pictures with the small dogs behind the bar but pit bulls clearly are not welcomed got it . Mind you my dog is a service animal . I did not feel the need to even argue this point because I would not want to continue spending money in a place like this .

Perqs is one of my favorite spots downtown....The staff is always friendly and fun. Lots of rad music too!

Limited capacity? That's a joke. They packed this place the other night while a band performed. No masks. No social distancing. But it's Huntington Beach, so what can you expect.

Location means so much. Great spot and great people we met. Service... not so much. Didn't feel the love, that's for sure.
