"This time-honored Houston steakhouse has an outpost in a quiet corner of Sugar Land’s Town Center, and serves as a hot spot for happy hour, special occasion dinners, and private dining. Start with a glass of Perry’s own reserve wine, and splurge on the famed pork chop, presented on a sizzling cast iron plate and carved table-side." - Megha McSwain, Rebecca Deurlein

Great experience here! We got a private room, waiters were attentive, food was delicious and flavorful. Ambience in the building is luxurious and warm. It was a great choice to celebrate here!!

Perry's is a beautiful restaurant that offers fantastic food, and the staff is incredibly pleasant and attentive. This was our first visit, as we celebrated my daughter's 17th birthday. She loves steak and was thrilled with her meal. My wife and I were so impressed with the food, the staff, and the overall atmosphere that we decided Perry's would be our go-to place for special occasions

We tried this restaurant yesterday evening for my husband’s birthday dinner . He had the ribeye with a peppercorn reduction and I had the redfish . Both dishes were perfect . The mushrooms , au gratin potatoes and roasted veggies side dishes were perfect for three people to share . The atmosphere is nice and there is a small outdoor patio . Great service , great presentation . I will go back .

We love LOVE LOVE the food here!!! On another point though I think that the music was too “pop” for my ideal eating experience at a fine-dining restaurant. When I sit at my table, taking in the mood, atmosphere, the smell of great food all over the place… I’m imagining live music (piano, violin, cello), not “pop” music being played loudly. So firstly, the food is worth the money. I would recommend a Michelin Star for the quality of the food. However, I believe live music would take it up another level.

Perry’s has a great ambience for any occasion. The spaces between tables are perfect. The restaurant gets busy during dinner time. My family got the escargot and 1/2 dozen grilled oysters as appetizers. I would get the oysters again. As for entrees, my partner and I got the Symphony Kabob and the 6oz Koji filet mignon respectively. There was a short warming up food show when the Symphony Kabob was served. The filet mignon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The loaded whipped potato and the sweet sriracha Brussels sprouts were delicious. We ended our meal with the rocky road bread pudding. I loved the texture of the toasted homemade. marshmallow. The bread pudding was dense and when paired with the caramel sauce, the dessert was heavy. My server was Brandon and his service was excellent.

Google
Service was great no complaints. The kitchen was surprisingly slow, my wife's steak was cooked perfectly medium unfortunately mine was cooked on the well side even though I asked for medium. Pretty disappointed. Brussel sprouts were excellent. Sausage good, turtle gumbo was more of a chilli than a gumbo.

Phenomenal service! Juan was exceptional and made sure our cups stayed filled. Our meals came out faster than we thought. We went to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday 🎂

Yelp
I've visited Perry's Steakhouses in several locations and have always enjoyed my meals. The Sugar Land location is no exception. I'm not sure why but the current rating isn't reflective of my experiences exceeding fifteen plus visits. The valet is the first to greet you opening the door leading to the host stand to where an even bigger greeting waits for you. The upscale casual setting of the bar is perfect. I'm usually satisfied with the Bar Bites on the menu and the drinks are fairly priced. My favorites are the Pork Chop bite and the Sliders, both are excellent. Yes you can find a lower price happy hour and bar experience but when food, service, and ambience are considered, Perry's is very high on my list.

Yelp
We made a reservation about 3 weeks in advanced for the day before Valentine's Day. It wasn't for anything romantic, in fact, it was for a business meeting dinner for 7 of us for 7pm. It was super busy and the wait for walk ins was 1-2 hours (I was eavesdropping lol). They sat us as soon as we got there. It was a nice round table near the entrance. Our server was so nice, sweet and patient with our large group. We each ordered 2-3 drinks and 2 bottles of wine, all of which seemed tasty to everyone. I absolutely appreciated how our server poured wine for the ladies first. She didn't make a huge fuss about it, as us 3 ladies were across the table from each other. We ordered the larger seafood tower and pork rib skewers to share - highly recommend. The seafood tower was just enough for all of us to get a little bit of everything. Complimentary bread was also provided. The skewers were tasty, but not for me. Everyone ordered their own entree and we shared 6 sides, all of which were fantastic. My favorites were the brûlée'd corn, Brussels sprouts and and creamed spinach. I split the prime ribeye with my coworker and it was perfect for the two of us. They were kind enough to cut it in half so we each had our own hot plate. Her and I also shared the beets salad and WOW. This was a stunner. If you're a saucey gal like me, get the sauce trio/sampler for your steak - worth the $7 so you get to try all of them. They're all good!! Of course we had to get dessert, so we all shared their famous bananas foster and cheesecake. Everyone took a few bites and it was the perfect ending to our long work day. Also - the little town center area that Perry's is in, is usually our go-to when in Sugar Land. We stay at the Marriott around the corner and it's been a great location for our work trips. We'll definitely be visiting Perry's again soon!

Yelp
Went for date night, service was great. They checked up on us every 10 min or so. Food was amazing. I'd recommend the steak flight and the lobster thermidor. Perfect for date night or special occasion. Valet is only $5 which is convenient because parking sucks. Overall, would recommend and visit again.

Walter R.

Yelp
This is a top tier ambiance, with very decent food. All of the decor is special occasion, and we felt special being here, However, our last visit was a few years ago, in the "pre COVID era ", and this experience is not nearly as impressive as the previous visit. Currently, it's very, very good, but before COVID, it was mind blowing excellent. Overall the service was very good , but we could tell they were a little short staffed, and it was not the 5 star service they used to have. I plan to return because I really enjoy this place, and I want to see if a different day, or different menu choice, will bring back the old magic.

Yelp
We came for Houston Restaurant Weeks and for a $55 dinner, this was well worth that price! Everything overall was delicious, I just had a couple of things that caught me off guard. The anchovies on top of the Caesar salad was not expected at all and kind of seemed unnecessary. It was my friend's plate, so I offered to take the bait and try it because we had no idea what it was at first! I've never had anchovies before so I was definitely not expecting the potent sourness that overwhelmed my tongue. And yet, I freaking love sour so, it worked out. The chocolate crunch tasted just like Ferrero chocolates!! It was sooo good but OMG THAT CUCUMBER BLUEBERRY MARTINI!! Now that's my favorite drink ever now. Steak was good but, could do without crab. Or lobster. Whatever I'm not big on it. Not their fault though. Overall service was great, food was delicious and the vibes were hella romantic.

Yelp
Got the Ribeye Steak I mean it was alright.... Mac and Cheese is good , Fries are decent & Mash Potatoes are creamy. Overall it is alright ladies and gentlemen. Edit: We just received dessert, OMG the Rocky Road Bread Pudding was AMAZING.....

Shatoni B.

Yelp
Went to perry's to taste their famous porkchops and it was very delicious. I also had their warm spinach salad which was tasty also. Perry's has always been a good place for lunch and dinner dates. The ambience definitely sets tone, and the bar server was also great.

JIll C.

Yelp
Fantastic food , excellent menu selections , outstanding service , delicious experience every time Our go to place

William O.

Yelp
Not a great experience. We stopped in at 4:30 before a concert and ordered several appetizers. Bacon wrapped shrimp were just OK, calamari was dry and heavily breaded with no sauce accompanying, service was inattentive. Unfortunately we will not be back.

Ashley T.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service was great, just disappointed in the Mac n cheese. All in all would definitely go back.

Elicia D.

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Perry Steakhouse and it will not be the last. The service from the start was phenomenal! The door was held upon entry where we were promptly checked in and escorted to our table. The decor and mood lighting are stylish, and the wine storage area was one of the best I've seen. It was the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. Our server Michael was a stand out! Making sure that all of our needs were met. We started with Perry Berry Mule and Bourbon Bloom. The Perry berry was not our favorite (2/5) but the Bourbon Bloom was so unique and flavorful (4/5). For our starter we had the French Onion soup and potato, leek and artichoke cream soup. Don't walk, run for the soup! It was truly an exisite puree of flavors. The French onion was also very good. For Dinner we had the 6oz filet with lump crab meat, and the famous Perry pork chop. Now I know what your thinking a pork chop is a pork chop. You have NEVER Ever had a pork chop like this. I cannot say enough about this flavorful hot cast iron slow-smoked pork. It was easily the best pork I have ever tried. The filet was equally divine and we were elated about the perfection in our main. Finally for dessert we have the chocolate crunch and the lemon bar. I wouldn't get the lemon Bar if you don't really, really like lemon as it was not to my liking, however the chocolate crunch was note worthy. Overall Perry gets a perfect 10 and our favorite of HRW. Thank you so much, you have life long customers.

Yelp
The first thing that struck us was the nice refreshed surroundings - great remodel. Then having a table set with roses for our anniversary - wow! Then the food. Perfect! We had the tuna tartar appetizer and that was so good. Avocado with perfectly light chip to put it on. Then the wedge salad cut in two for us. The dressing was to die for. Then the steak. Perfectly medium rare, and a perfect butter on the plate. OMG so good. Thank you.

Bill H.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food was good too. A little pricey but it is a fancy steakhouse. I would go back.

Evelyn S.

Yelp
We always enjoy dining at this location of Perry's. The great service starts with the valet staff holding the door and the front desk staff greeting patrons with a smile. They make you feel welcome. Making a reservation is easy, parking is easy and free in the parking garage close by, and we are always seated within 5 minutes. Our last visit was a 5 rather than the usual 4! While our overall experience has always been good, this last time was exceptional! Our waiter made all the difference! We appreciated the excellent service from Yazan! He was very professional, friendly, attentive and make us feel special! He apparently had a great relationship with the chef and kitchen staff cause our food came out piping hot on the skillet and my husband was very impressed! He said that the pork chop tasted the best that we've ever had there! The chef nailed it and we do believe that Yazan had something to do it, lol! He brought our bread out warm, our mashed potatoes were generous and quite tasty, too. We absolutely felt like Yazan made sure that we were well taken care of! My husband enjoyed his drink as well. We are convinced that Yazan made sure the drink was on point as well! The food is always good, but, there has been a time when my pork chop was a little dry and not as tasty as this time. Service has always been good from other waiters but Yazan was exceptional! The restaurant is lovely, very clean and the bathroom is very clean, as well. It always feels like a treat to eat at Perry's and the Friday pork chop special is great although it has changed in price and portion a bit over the years! It's still a great deal and the overall experience is great! Thanks!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate our lil bro's birthday. But, we expected more from this place, since it's a high end steakhouse. When we entered, the interior was dimly lit and spacious. It wasn't too busy on a weeknight. We already made reservations here via OpenTable. Here was a breakdown of our experience: Customer service for a steakhouse (2/5): the hostess was rude. We asked to be spaced out from others, and she replied, "I know." Then, we asked to be seated in one of the booth seats (as I already requested in my OpenTable reservation) and she seemed annoyed and walked back to check. Our waiter was nicer, and refilled our water quite a bit. However, he was just kind of slow with getting the food ready, especially dessert, which was already prepared ahead of time. It just needed to be brought out. We also had to ask him for more bread, instead of him replenishing it when he saw we were running low on it. We also specified on our reservation that we're celebrating a birthday. I'm not sure why our waiter had to ask us why we were here. Food: Prime Ribeye (4/5): For the price of this meat, you'd think we'd get a decent amount. But, this was a small cut of meat. However, it was delicious and cooked to medium rare, like we asked. It was saltier than we'd like it to be. Creamed spinach (3/5) and Loaded whipped potatoes (4/5): For the price of each of these a la carte sides, we got such small portions. As far as taste, the whipped potatoes were fluffy and the creamed spinach not too rich. Both of these sides were a little under seasoned. But, I just added more black pepper to both. I didn't add any more salt, since the steak was already salty. Flourless chocolate cake (2/5): This slice was soooo small. I mean, it's flourless chocolate cake. It wasn't a special cut of meat. For the price we paid for this dinky slice of cake that was just ok in taste, it wasn't worth it. This just tasted more like I was eating a ganache instead of a cake. Pumpkin cheesecake (4/5): This was surprisingly good. The portion size was small, but not as minuscule as the chocolate cake. It tasted like a pumpkin pie, but it was creamy too. I enjoyed the graham cracker crust, which balanced out the cream cheese. I felt this was a rich enough of a dessert to share. Overall, I wouldn't say we'd come back here again, unless someone invited us to eat here. Just don't come here super hungry. You'll just end up eating elsewhere.

Yelp
Wow, what an exceptional dining experience at the best steakhouse and grille in Sugar Land! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and top-notch customer service set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our server, Juan, was truly outstanding. His attention to detail was impressive, and he was always available to answer questions and make recommendations. But what really blew us away was the incredible food! Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, with flavors that exceeded our expectations. Juan's vast knowledge of the menu and wine pairings enhanced our meal. We left feeling satisfied and impressed. Kudos to the entire team for delivering an exceptional experience. We can't wait to return!!!!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Went for 18th bday celebration. Total up-sale on menu items that were not worth it. Although majority ordered filet all the same type and cooking temp, they were inconsistent as far as quality and cooking temperature. Mine tasted like liver, my granddaughters was rare and tough. Normally the sides are the best but brussels were cold, dry. Banana's foster tastes like propane and salt. 800 for table of 5 - nope! Used to be our go to but no longer.

David N.

Yelp
My family loves Perry's, especially for their Friday pork chop special! For $19 you get the lunch serving of the pork chop with mashed potatoes and apple sauce, that deal is hard to beat! We always end up adding on calamari and sides of course. My go to sides are Brussel sprouts, corn soufflé, and the fried asparagus with lump crab! We can never finish it and usually take home the leftovers for a whole full meal. My only complaint here is the parking. It's almost mandatory valet.

Karen M.

Yelp
From appetizers through to desserts, everything was made perfectly and tasted fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, food and service. The variety on the menu is refreshing in comparison to other fine dining steakhouses we have been to. You can come here and not have anything twice for a very long time! I look forward to coming back and switching up my choices! Great evening and staff!

Ashley P.

Yelp
Favorite two items hands down, brussel sprouts alone is absolutely devine. Mouth watering pork chop is an understatment and by all means does not give this pork chop any justice. 100% perfected in every way, thank you Perrys for the great deal in this mind blowing chop!

Gary S.

Yelp
We had made reservations for a party of 9 for the day before Easter, as our group arrived we were immediately seated. After the initial ordering of drinks and appetizers things went down hill. For one of our party she never received the gumbo that she ordered. Our waiter wasn't seen for another 20 minutes when he finally took our orders for the main entree's. Finally about 10 minutes later water glasses, ice tea and drinks were refilled. This was the last and only time during the evening that we had any refills. When the meals arrived one of them wasn't for our table, apparently it had gone to a different table or had been entered wrong when the order was taken. When the order was straightened out we asked for ice tea and drink refills, none came. The food was delicious and absolutely of first class quality! After we were finished we asked for the check, after 20 minutes it hadn't arrived and we asked if there was a problem, we were told that management was reviewing it and it be out shortly. One of our party couldn't wait and had to take an Uber to go home because he had to get up at 4:00 to be to work in the morning (Easter Sunday). From the time that he was picked up until we received the check was another 15 more minutes. It took a total of an hour to receive the check, after that we paid and were finally able to leave. The food is fantastic and first class! The service though was absolutely 3rd rate and I won't be bringing my friends and relatives back for a LONG time if this is their new norm.

Laurie K.

Yelp
Mr.Romance and I arrived in Sugar Land ,Texas at dinner time. Walked into Perry's and immediately the front staff welcomed us with warmth and smiles. We ordered the lobster bisque Mr.Romance had the "pork chop" their speciality. I had a prime ribeye. Did not disappoint one bit. They didn't mess around with flavor and the portion. The flavor made our mouth happy. Bathrooms were spotless. Waitstaff amazing. Banana Foster just take a look at the pics. Come on in tell them Laurie from Yelp sent.

ami F.

Yelp
Treated my father and Auntie to the Friday pork chop deal. They loved the food, ambiance and the service was great. I will definitely go back. Only negative was our waiter never came back out with out apple sauces. Had they not left our apple sauces in the back I would have given 5 stars. Hopefully they will get it right the next time we visit.

Mitch R.

Yelp
I come in for the pork chop about once a year when in the Houston area. Incredibly good. They fumbled the start of the meal as I literally had to walk down wait staff to get a water and cocktail while I waited for everyone else, but they made up with excellent service the rest of the meal - maybe I came in on a shift change.

NaVy B.

Yelp
I don't write reviews often, but this is the worst meal I've had, 300$ dinner but not good at all. Bad food! Lobster very salty, steak very dry, food took a long time... take 1 hour wait. Very disappointed

David K.

Yelp
Went last night for Birthday celebration and the service and food were exceptionally good (Pork Chop-AMAZING) But, no Bacon Spinach Salad= What the heck Perry's and beer selection = Crap! No Stella, no Corona and warmish Lovestreet IPA = not good at all. I love Perry's but please get the spinach salad back

Justin B.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was exceptional! Our server very attentive. Parking took some figuring out when it was my first time.

S T.

Yelp
1st time there I love it and will be going to the location in Dallas. I'm definitely trying the pork chops on Friday

Sneha W.

Yelp
I appreciate how they reach out to you if you post a lie rating review, but hate when they're just being fake concerned. But they don't mean it. I was texted to reach out to someone on an email. But no one ever reached out back to discuss the concern. We used to be frequent diners at the restaurant.

Sergio G.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great! Located in Sugar Land Town Square. Our server Juan was the best! And the Cowboy Ribeye was made to perfection.

Candi R.

Yelp
Parking is a full on disaster. I wanted to pay $20 to park in front but they didn't take apple Pay and wanted me to type my card info into a random cell phone... lol yea right. That obviously didn't happen. Valet was only $5 but I like to keep my own keys. The drinks were great. The food was amazing and with very large servings. I had the crab cake appetizer and the short ribs with pasta as my entree. Everything was delicious. I didn't get pictures of the ribs unfortunately but they were everything lol. Our waiter provided exceptional service and was very attentive. I've actually been here before but didn't do a review the first time I came.

Fern A.

Yelp
Pork chops are a must. I was told this place had the best pork chops and they did not disappoint. I was surprised to get my plate as it also had ribs. Great surprise. The ribs were phenomenal.

Roslyn B.

Yelp
Sarah R. was excellent server. very pleasant. she attended to our needs there was no wait time and she had some very good suggestions about the food and the drinks. Very pleasant very attentive very welcoming with a warm smile. Very professional.

Rasheda L.

Yelp
I tried it and I am so glad that I did! This steak house is tucked away in the sugar land town center. I do suggest making a reservation for the best dining experience, however I thoroughly enjoyed my bar experience with Adrian and Alisa! There were a variety of menu and drink options to choose from. I decided to try the wedge salad paired with a new york strip steak. The steak, i will say was prepared to perfection! Wondering why 4 stars, well the hostess was not welcoming at all! When I entered the restaurant she met me with "Do you have a reservation"? No good-evening, No welcome to Perry's. Easily scripting will alleviate these types of interactions in a fine dining establishment. I am glad I did look past the initial greeting because the bar dining experience was a pleasure with Alisa and Adrian. I must also mention as i left the restaurant one of the valet attendants asked if I enjoyed my supper. Kudos to him for taking the time to ask even though I did not valet.

Sophia D.

Yelp
Ethan was our server and he was great! We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food and the drinks were delicious.

Lawerance P.

Yelp
Dropped more than $300 for three of us. Banana Fosters was a failure since it was not Flambeed! Wish the server would have told us. As a regular fan of your Steakhouse - this was unacceptable. Merely putting slice bananas on ice cream does not cut it! Would have given you 5 stars if not for this.

Brandi C.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary at Perry's and multiple stopped to say Happy Anniversary. They also put beautiful rose petals on the table and treated us to a dessert! Miriam was a very friendly and attentive waitress who made sure we had a lovely dinner! It was a nice treat to eat in such a beautiful restaurant.

Daniel F.

Yelp
One of the best damn burgers I've had in a long time. Patty was cooked to perfection with cheese and bacon, what could be better? The French fries were also cooked and seasoned perfectly, and they were paired with a really good side of Ranch. I have zero issues with the service either, our service was really really good. Can't wait to come back here next time I'm near Sugarland

Brooke R.

Yelp
Perry's has definitely been a great date night or birthday dinner spot U would choose every now and again. This time was no different but I would say the quality of the lobster Mac and cheese was not to my liking this evening. Whatever crunch thing (I think Parmesan) is a no go. In addition, the crab cakes were ok for an appetizer. The crab cakes themselves was not bad it was the garnishment that came with it which was extremely crunchy and pointless. But as usual the ambiance was sheer, posh vibes with a splash of Great customer service from my waiter Johnny. He was pleasant, attentive and on his game tonight. Thank you for the experience.

Veronica G.

Yelp
This place NEVER disappoints. Every out of town guest we have we for sure bring them here and they leave talking about how amazing this place is!!! We love it every single time it has been a great experience. Sometimes my husband and I go and other times we bring our young children. The customer service is great they are always very attentive and if anything comes out wrong they fix it right away. I can't believe people have bad experiences

Aliah A.

Yelp
I went here to celebrate my anniversary with my husband, we were having such a great day until we stepped foot into this restaurant. This red headed hostess did not greet us and rolled her eyes at me when I requested to sit at a booth and walked very fast ahead of us. So not only was I immediately greeted with such severe attitude when I was being nothing but courteous, but it also appeared they were extremely short staffed. Our food was cold and the wait time felt like forever. We will not be returning to this restaurant ever again.

Peter C.

Yelp
Austin served us. The food was great and the service was better. We had the platter for four and almost finished it.

Sophia M.

Yelp
Our NYE tradition is to eat here. We love it . Good is flavorful and portions are great. Atmosphere is great for date night. Staff is kind and always greets you with a smile.

Hue D.

Yelp
Below is the issue I emailed the General Manager, Kris Harrup, but 5 days have gone by with no response from this person. "Hello Kris Harrup, I dined in at the restaurant this evening with my mom and sister. The hostess kindly asked my mom to remove her cap because of the no hat policy which we respect and gladly complied with. However, in the middle of our dinner, there was a group of 9 folks that were seated a few tables away. I heard one of the hostesses announced to the table of the no hat policy as well. But after she left, a couple of the men did not remove their caps for the entirety of the time we were there. Oddly enough, I never witnessed anyone else approach them again regarding their caps (the same style that my mom wore). In addition, I've watched, what seemed like the manager, walk past that table many times. Therefore, I am curious why the inconsistency in enforcing the no hat policy at your establishment. I appreciate your time in addressing this matter. " Must I add that we were three Asian women and the other table was a group of Caucasian folks (and the men were the ones that kept their hats on). (I was sat at a position in the restaurant that has a view of almost everything and I happened to be also facing the table in question hence the keen observation of the situation at hand). Also, we were asked to take it off at the lobby area before we even entered the dining area, the other folks were all sat down at their table first before the host said anything about the hats. So if you're going to have a dress code and implement it, then maybe executing it consistently would be a better look on your business practice.

Yelp
We went for our 10th anniversary. Ordered the Porterhouse for two, corn brulee, whipped potatoes fully loaded, roasted brussels sprouts, Stag's Leap Cab, bread pudding and an orange (yes, orange) cheesecake. To be honest, we were kind of disappointed. We ordered the steak medium rare and it came out medium well. Dry and relatively tasteless. The sides were really good. The bread pudding was horrible. It tasted like burned popcorn. We didn't ask, but they comped it. Lastly, the orange cream cheesecake was the BOMB! Service was excellent.

Eric T.

Yelp
Absolutely a horrible experience. Steak came out raw in the center. While a 10 oz filet is difficult to cook given its size they are a steak house. It just went from bad to worse. Ended up leaving with out my steak. Manager argued the steak wasn't wrong and just became excessively combative. Dont waste your money here. The food is mediocre at best and the service and management are completely full of themselves. Again, a horrible experience I will not repeat and I urge others to steer clear of.

Yelp
Ordered the snapper on the menu and it came out dry as a bone. Service was delayed and subpar. Had to cancel second drink due to having finished majority of food before it was even poured. Condiments never made it to the table. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Had dinner last night at Perry's and the service and food was excellent. Unfortunately, the steak was not prepared properly and the manager corrected the issue. Waiter was attentive and provided a great service.

Yelp
I was taken here for my birthday, believe, several years ago, and I have to say this is a sugar land gem for fine dining. The food is fantastic. I had the lamb chops, and my goodness, it was mouth-watering. Service was on point, and the ambiance was perfect. Sadly I've only gone once, but I will jump at going again when the opportunity presents itself
