We came here to celebrate our lil bro's birthday. But, we expected more from this place, since it's a high end steakhouse.
When we entered, the interior was dimly lit and spacious. It wasn't too busy on a weeknight. We already made reservations here via OpenTable. Here was a breakdown of our experience:
Customer service for a steakhouse (2/5): the hostess was rude. We asked to be spaced out from others, and she replied, "I know." Then, we asked to be seated in one of the booth seats (as I already requested in my OpenTable reservation) and she seemed annoyed and walked back to check. Our waiter was nicer, and refilled our water quite a bit. However, he was just kind of slow with getting the food ready, especially dessert, which was already prepared ahead of time. It just needed to be brought out. We also had to ask him for more bread, instead of him replenishing it when he saw we were running low on it. We also specified on our reservation that we're celebrating a birthday. I'm not sure why our waiter had to ask us why we were here.
Food:
Prime Ribeye (4/5): For the price of this meat, you'd think we'd get a decent amount. But, this was a small cut of meat. However, it was delicious and cooked to medium rare, like we asked. It was saltier than we'd like it to be.
Creamed spinach (3/5) and Loaded whipped potatoes (4/5): For the price of each of these a la carte sides, we got such small portions. As far as taste, the whipped potatoes were fluffy and the creamed spinach not too rich. Both of these sides were a little under seasoned. But, I just added more black pepper to both. I didn't add any more salt, since the steak was already salty.
Flourless chocolate cake (2/5): This slice was soooo small. I mean, it's flourless chocolate cake. It wasn't a special cut of meat. For the price we paid for this dinky slice of cake that was just ok in taste, it wasn't worth it. This just tasted more like I was eating a ganache instead of a cake.
Pumpkin cheesecake (4/5): This was surprisingly good. The portion size was small, but not as minuscule as the chocolate cake. It tasted like a pumpkin pie, but it was creamy too. I enjoyed the graham cracker crust, which balanced out the cream cheese. I felt this was a rich enough of a dessert to share.
Overall, I wouldn't say we'd come back here again, unless someone invited us to eat here. Just don't come here super hungry. You'll just end up eating elsewhere.
