"There’s something special about having an ice-cold pint in an establishment with such a rich history. Perseverance Tavern has been around since 1808, making it one of South Africa’s oldest pubs. The establishment is still as relevant as it was back in the day, holding onto its traditional routes but also housing multiple flat screen TVs for great sports viewing. Drinking and eating go hand in hand and Percy’s serves up some great pub food to keep patrons going into the night." - Infestation
We love this spot!!!!.... Barman is super..... The chef is outstanding... 2x pizza for R180... Was not expecting much, we both ate the whole pizza... Absolutely delicious 😋... Thin base, fresh toppings really one of the best pizzas in Cape Town!!!!
Windhoek draght special 2 x beers for R65!!!!
Would love to see more people support the oldest tavern in South Africa!!!
It's ou second time here, will definitely be back.

Cold beer, great ambiance and hearty food!
The glasses are chilled in the fridge so you know for sure that your beer will remain nice and cool!
This has become my new favourite place!
Come early (as I did) to secure your place.

Had some great fish and chips there at a more than reasonable price. Good selection of draught beers, including Guinness and Windhoek. Very friendly service by bartender Daniel. Had the opportunity to have a chat with new owner Marteen. Would definitely visit again, and wish the place much success!

Owner (Martin) trying very hard to get it back to "lekker" pub status. Bangers and Mash was awesome. Was quiet when we went there on Saturday afternoon. Will definitely visit again, especially with a rugby game on tv.

Nice pizza, the base is nice and thin.
Tastes great.
There was a dog walking about, think it's another clients', which was so nice to see.
The BBQ Wings was nice as well.

We went as a group, for a lunch booking, kindly accommodated by the owner despite a large pre-booked evening meal. Food was fresh and tasty, service very good. Definitely worth a visit, with all the history attached to the Tavern.

It was nice that they allow dogs but limited food menu, no Castle Lite on tap, fireplace not lit.
