The Best Restaurants for Affordable Dining in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Portland State University students often pop by this Persian cart for a kabab koobideh, an Iranian kofta-like ground beef skewer served in a wrap with vegetables and a choice of sauce (tahini, toum, or chipotle mayo). The wraps are an absolute steal, considering the flavor in both the koobideh and the yogurt-marinated chicken-based joojeh kebab. The plates, which come with sumac and saffron-scented rice, are similarly priced, which makes it easy to double up on meat or add a blistered tomato." - Katrina Yentch

I’ve been to many restaurants but none of them had such great Kabab! Best koobideh and chenjeh ever!

Extremely delicious and soooo much better compared to restaurants that serve kababs. Tender and flavorful, you cannot go wrong with this gem. My friend got me addicted to this spot and ever since we have been consistently coming back. 100/10 and service is quick and always polite and welcoming. Currently I am waiting for my food and there’s 4 other people waiting on theirs while the other food carts are not busy at all. That says so much about their food! Best of all it’s not overly priced — $13

I really enjoyed it The chicken was awesome comparable with best restaurants in Iran even , Kabab was good , the same as other good restaurants which is logical due to meat here.

Stopped by for lunch, and not disappointed. The guy working was super delightful, and kind. I got the chicken royal kebab sandwich and the single beef kebab plate. Both had excellent flavor but I liked the beef better. The sandwich is pretty big and the bread wrap is awesome. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Persian kebab food truck in Portland!! Delicious Persian food served in a to-go box. We tried the beef kebab, which was very tasty. It came with basil, onion, and tomato, the signature sides for a Persian kebab. The staff were very friendly.

Just stopped by on a whim and so glad I did. Very friendly service and THE FOOD is phenomenal. I got a combo plate with beef and chicken(joojeh) with rice. The flavor is so good and soaked into the rice a bit, which is always yummy. There were fresh veggies and herbs garnished that paired well with the meat and rice. Fresh and hot and homemade and healthy. All perfect when you are hangry downtown.

$12 for two koobideh over rice in 2024? Yes please. Best koobideh in Portland, hands down.
