Definitely found our favorite Indian food on the Coastal Bend! Spacious, updated space, full bar, large dining room, GIANT menu to choose from - a struggle for us! We went with Laccha Paratha and Butter Roti breads to start, both buttery yummy. My Chettinadu Lamb was savory excellence with nice kick (mediumish) without adding spice. Her Goat Korma also outstanding and our Palak Paneer was loaded with chunks and creamy with nice kick too. Also a boatload of rice to share! Plenty leftovers for later! Was dubious about service as it took a while to get drinks, but then we realized the servers are familiar with the entire GIANT menu and offer suggestions to everyone, so worth the wait…plus, more time to study the GIANT menu! Great dining experience. No lunch specials and they close midafternoon, so a quick cheap lunch may not be an option, but Persis is definitely worth the time and money!

I am vegan and its hard to find good tasting vegan dishes. This was my 1st time to this restaurant. The waitress was not honest with me when I asked if "paneer" was a type of cheese - she immediately said... "no its tofu"! I ordered it - and ate it - I knew something was very different about this "tofu"! I later dicovered - its NOT tofu - it is a type of cheese! Lucky for her I do not have an allergy to cheese products! Why LIE to your customers? Just be honest. What else are you lying about on your menu? Is the lamb really lamb - or some other meat substitute? That is not okay! I thought I would go back - but that was very dishonest. The one good thing was that the manager was very accommodating in making our dishes less spicy to our desired taste.

Wow. The food was exceptional! Service was pleasant and attentive. Relaxing atmosphere and delicious cocktails ! A bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Will be back!

I visited this restaurant yesterday hoping for a good experience, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the special chicken biryani, but it was very dry and lacked flavor. It didn’t taste fresh or well-prepared. I also ordered Afghani naan, but what I received was something completely different. When I asked the staff about it, they insisted it was Afghani naan, but I know it wasn’t. It felt misleading and dishonest. Overall, the food did not meet expectations, and the service was not helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

Google
Ordered egg curry and chicken dum biryani medium spucy( but hardly any flavor) The egg curry was nice. The mango lassi was ok too. Location is easy to find. Staff are good too

Google
Worst bhiryani I had in my life The rice is not at all a bhiryani rice this is something mix up of low quality Worst worst worst to the core Chicken has no flavor. Poor thing is they fooling Americans with low standards and not providing authentic Indian recipe… Prices also very expensive I don’t recommend anyone

Had lunch with girl friends at this place. The inside is beautifully decorated. The food was marvelous! We ate everything family style, and had so much fun.

Google
Excellent food quality, the taste was authentic and service was absolutely amazing despite the restaurant being full. They have lot of vegetarian options specially for people craving cheese butter masala and kaju curry. I would highly recommend this place if you are in Corpus Christi.

Yelp
The best chicken tikka masala I have ever had- and I am always trying new Indian restaurants. A must go.

Yelp
We loved it. Very clean and attractive The food was good and the price reasonable Although I'm not in high school so I'm not sure what makes yelp think every review has to have 85 characters. Probably my last

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Food was pretty flavorful - fried papad appetizer, navrantna [veg] korma, butter chicken masala, lamb Rogan Josh, plain naan, & mango lassi. We had all our food spiced "medium" because the young lady said "it's really hot ma'am" when I was going to order the lamb vindaloo. I guess I should have explained my creole roots to this young lady & that food isn't seasoned unless it clears your sinuses. Hence, the only thing that was a little spicy was the Rogan Josh which saved the meal because the other entrees were too mild. But, again it was tasty. As for the service, it was odd... The servers were courteous but not really friendly. The two young ladies waiting tables did not seem to be communicating with each other. A young man brought out food to the table- he was pleasant, smiled, cordial. But the young ladies: The first took our initial order; then the second came to check on us and brought out our lassi, brought the to-go boxes, & processed our payment. She then moved over to the table to our left to close out their bill. Next, the first came over and asked for our payment again. We said "we paid her" (indicating the young lady next to her) & showed her the receipt for payment. Still, she proceeds to put the payment machine on our table to ask for payment again. We showed her the receipt again & explained again that we'd already paid. She read the receipt & asked if something was wrong, then searched her machine & said "oh, yes I see it. You're right... you already paid. Sorry sorry. So sorry." No duh!!!!! And the whole while the young lady who took our payment is standing within ear shot, directly to her right at the other table, not saying a word. That was a strange experience. Overall, I can recommend the food. Just make sure you get the spice level to your liking. Yet, I haven't decided if I want to spend money there again because the service was uncomfortable.

Yelp
The only good thing was the cheese naan bread. Service: for my wife and I, we ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, and naan bread. That's all. Took over 45 minutes to get the food. Ive had this exact dish at three different Indian restaurants in the past 2 weeks and by far this was the worst. When the food did come, food was lukewarm, and the chicken was tough as if it was old and reheated. The rice was exceptionally dry, and they buried the chicken way at the bottom of the rice bowl. When I asked about the wait after it had been 40 minutes, I was told they were working on it. No explanation or curiosity about what we thought of their food. The worst Indian dining experience I've ever had. The vibe of the place was decent. My wife and I thought the mural was gorgeous. Friends had warned us against coming to this place because "there is no good Indian food in Corpus" but we saw the high Yelp reviews and were in the mood for some Indian food. We should have listened to our friends. If you're coming to this place because you are craving Indian, make sure your expectations are really low and that you have at least 60-90 minutes for a party of 2, closer to 2 hours for 4+.

Yelp
Good for Corpus. It's great when we are craving Indian food, and unfortunately there aren't many options in the area... My only complaint is the lack thereof meat in the biryani... every time we order this, which is most of the time since it's my husband's favorite, I kid you not there is only 4-5 small little chunks of meat. For the price that we pay, I don't want to have less than 10% of it meat then the majority is all rice. A bit unfair in my opinion. My favorite is the Chicken Korma, the flavors are good. We always get the Vegetable Samosas and these are a staple, they're perfect almost every single time we order them. We only tried the Vindaloo one time, but I remember it being good. If Mango Lassi is on the menu, then there is a chance we are ordering it.

Yelp
This place is top notch authentic, we destroyed our food and I have zero regrets. Will continue to eat here when in town.

Yelp
Corpus has a world class Indian restaurant. Persis brought their "A" game when they served us the best Chicken Tikka Masala we've ever had. The spice level was medium just like I asked for, the chickeen was moist and tender, lot of places the chicken comes out dry. My wife got a bowl of chicken lentil soup that was very tasty. We shared a couple amazing samosas. We also shared a rice kheer dessert....yum.....by shared I mean she took 2 spoonfuls. I ordered a plain naan, also very good. We're trying to low carb it and she's doing a better job of it. We'll be back for more of these goodies.

Yelp
Omgoodness the best food and atmosphere. I honestly always enjoy this experience no matter the time of day. Service was exceptionally amazing, since Sreya helped us out. She remember all our special requests and just was a pleasure. Thanks Persis... for always comimg in clutch. Also, compliments to the chef (s)

Yelp
Food was great as always. However had a glove or piece of rubber in our food. They took it away and didn't take it off the bill. They told us it was a piece of fat. We cook lamb regularly and it was rubber. Things happen but whoever the manager or chef was that sent the waitress with that flimsy excuse should be ashamed.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. Prices are on par as well. Highly recommend trying this place - it's my new Indian food "Go-To" in the Augusta/Aiken area. (Save room for the ice cream dessert!!) Saturday just after opening allowed for quick service, quiet atmosphere, and very fresh, expertly and artful prepared food. Butter chicken was divine and a healthy portion. Aloo mutter perfectly spiced, and not mushy. Recommend.

Yelp
I was apprehensive about trying Indian food in Corpus and I was pleasantly surprised! I've been here several times and it never disappoints. They are able to make about 6 entrees vegan and they're delicious! The Veg Chettinsdu is incredible. Service is good and ambiance is nice. Def recommend if you're in Corpus and craving vegan.

Yelp
Cookies are amazing and delicious, customer service was good these 2 girls were amazing and nice didn't get there names sadly and they were very fast and attentive

Yelp
This is one of Corpus Christi's only Indian Resturaunt and let me tell you it is AMAZING!!! We of course were a little skeptical, but decided to give it a try. The business is easy to find since it's behind the Ross shopping center and parking is vast. Once you enter, the ambiance is nice and has a great India atmosphere, from the various colors to the resturaunt layout and art. We were quickly greeted and seated and helped with the menu. I ordered the Samosa for the appetizer, and for the main course Kadai Chicken with Garlic Naan, and my girlfriend ordered Lamb Tikka Masala with Plain Roti. Everything was phenomenal and the food had so much flavor and spice! We devoured everything! Once done, we asked if they offered Military Discount. The waitress went to ask and the manager came to the table and gave us a 10% discount and thanked us for our service! He was so kind and we stated how great the food was! He stated "Well then I guess I'll be seeing you more". YES! YES YOU WILL!!! So if you're looking for an amazing Indian food resturaunt in the lovely city of Corpus, look no further! This is it!!!

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, great service, and phenomenal food. I have ordered several things from the menu and have yet to be disappointed. My favorites are the Lamb Tikka Masala and the Palak Chicken. One thing I have to recommend to anyone who visits- order the garlic naan! It is fresh every single time and extremely mouthwatering. The perfect side to any curry dish. My most recent visit was extremely pleasant. My server Vyshu was patient and quick to meet our needs. One more thing: the restaurant is always spotless and exceptionally clean. It really adds to the ambiance of the whole restaurant, which is beautifully decorated with parasols and warm lighting. I highly recommend for date nights and birthday dinners!

Yelp
This place was such a great surprise for me and my family!! We didn't know there was an Indian place in CC with such good food! Everything was amazing and shareable. I was so happy to see a beautiful restaurant too very well decorated. The service was amazing too. I really have no complaints about this place, can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Marissa A.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time and honestly was not impressed. Walking into this place the restaurant is well decorated but the service is not very attentive at all. We ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, samosa and 2 waters. Are food took over an hour!!! Are server not a manager came by to tell us about the wait or if the kitchen was backed up ( wasn't busy when we ordered). Our meal came out but not with the naan that took another 15 min. On top of this the food was not really tasteful, it was very bland and has a very strong tomato flavor. Not very authentic.
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Wow, everything we tried was delicious. It's now one of my favorite restaurants in CC. Next time we will order medium spice instead of mild spice for an extra kick. Highly recommend this place if you want to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and tasty!

James B. K.

Yelp
From all the good reviews I thought this place is the best, but my experience was not so great. Long story short, I watched the wait staff deliver my super spicy goat curry, White rice, lamb biryani, roti, and naan to the wrong table the guy took a couple bites of my goat curry jumped up and told the waitress he specifically told them nothing hot... Then they took my dishes back to the kitchen and I called the waitress and told her I would like to pay for my drink and leave and I just watched them take my food back to the kitchen that the other couple were just eating and she told me my food was ready and they were bringing it out. So they took the food I ordered dressed it back up and was going to serve it to me. Not what I call proper.

Yelp
This is a new restaurant as of this year! Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends and got the restaurant week special (4 course meal for $30). It was so delicious and some of the best authentic indian food I've ever had! I got the samosa, butter chicken masala, garlic naan, and gulab jamun. The portions were good sized- we all took leftovers home! I don't love spicy food and asked for low spice on my dish and it was perfect- but you can ask for more spice if you want. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. If you're craving Indian food, go here!!

Yaz D.

Yelp
Great service, food was delicious! Atmosphere in here is relaxing as well! We got a mango lassi to go too!
google avatar

Austin J.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is clean. Service is fast and food is always served hot. We got the chicken vindaloo, the persis special chicken biryani (both spice level medium) and garlic naan. Delicious every time.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
The service was very slow for a midweek day. Half full restaurant and took forever for anyone to come by and say hello or get our drink order. The food was pretty tasty once we got it. I had the Andhra Lamb Curry. I asked for hot and got mild to med spice level and less meat than what the pictures show. Take a look at these pics and then others. The Bullet Naan was excellent. The Gulab Jamun was not as good as expected. Wouldn't get it again. Will definitely be back the next time in town because the other reviews were pretty good and I think this might have been an off night.
google avatar

Crystal N.

Yelp
such a pleasant experience eating here! food was definitely top notch and super flavorful. I was also pleasantly surprised trying the mango lassi for the first time :) The chicken dishes were medium spice and I wish I got the spiciest level but other than that, everything was great. super spacious interior and lovely decor :)

Yelp
I was so glad to hear of a new Indian place in Corpus Christi so we tried it shortly after they opened. Pro's: Samosas were fresh and the sauces were great. The employees were friendly. My husband asked if he could get the mango curry with lamb and the chef agreed to make a special order for him, which was very nice. Cons: I ordered a MILD Tikka Masala and I could barely eat it. My nose was running and my ears were on fire. I understand Indian food can be spicy, but when they let you chose your spicy level, I expect mild to be mild. I have had many tikka masala's from different restaurants and I have never had one so spicy. I'm not sure if the waiter and I had a miscommunication or that's just how it comes. Secondly, they charged us for another person's ticket, which was near $90 and ours was $50. They gave us back the difference in cash, which was fine, but it's something to beware of: make sure you ask the total before they take your card, because they have handheld machines to process your payment. Another con is that we had to practically beg to get waters refilled. Overall: I had really high hopes and I'm glad there's another Indian restaurant in town, but I am afraid to return due to the sheer level of spice they use in their food. I love Indian food, but not if it's inedible. f you like spicy - you'll love it here!
google avatar

Rey Y.

Yelp
One word... amazing. The staff is very professional. The portions are perfect. And the food... perfectly authentic! You cannot find a bad dish on the menu. I suggest the lamb boti masala, mild still has a very satisfying spice to it. The garlic nann bread is essential.

McKenzie C.

Yelp
I have never had authentic Indian cuisine, or even un-authenic Indian cusisine... but this food is SOOO tasty. Flavorful, filling, freaking great. We've been three times in a row, so may options to choose from, to keep from getting overwhelmed, just go back so you can order something different next time!
google avatar

Hazim M.

Yelp
Amazing authentic Indian restaurant that would hold up even in SA and Houston. The ambiance is casual with the nice umbrella decors. The food is top notch and the servers are attentive. We had pani puri, butter naan, paneer tikka masala, and malai kofta. The food was full of flavor and there was enough for us to take home and eat the next day. They also give VERY generous portions of rice if you don't want to eat naan. 10/10

Yelp
After a very long time, visited this restaurant. The service was great, very attentive, the food was delicious. I was shocked, arrived just after 6PM and the restaurant was packed, was not expecting that. The servers had great recommendations, and we loved the food. I give this place a full five stars.
google avatar

Freddy M.

Yelp
I placed an order to-go through the Persis Indian Grill website today and as I went to pick up my order, after driving 20 min from home, i left empty-handed and deeply upset. I was told they did not receive my order, which had been placed an hour before, while I received text messages that my order was ready for pick up. Very disappointed and hungry now. Stay away from this place.

Yelp
Super good food! Awesome Service! Much needed for Corpus Christi. Everything I've had is super good! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Some of the best and authentic Indian food we have ever had. Clean, nicely appointed atmosphere, great food, great service and affordable. Highly recommended!

Jenn B.

Yelp
Wonderful food. We tried several dishes that were chicken, goat, and lamb and garlic naan with a mushroom appetizer. We also had dessert. All the portions were large. All of the family enjoyed everything and we were pleased with the selections. We had a great server, Vyshnavi, that answered all our questions and made great recommendations. We have already recommended this restaurant to friends and we plan to return.
google avatar

Sanjit T.

Yelp
Food Was delicious. We ordered Cashew Curry and Palak Paneer. Hospitality was awesome. We were driving from south padre island and was running late closer to morning closing time. Staff made an exception today and allow us to dine in post closing hours...Real Made our day...Hats off to Customer Facing Staff

Corpus Christi Vegan V.

Yelp
There were several vegan options and everything was delicious! The servers were very polite and thoroughly informed on what was vegan. They had different spices levels, which was also great. The restaurant is very clean and has these beautiful umbrella decorations. Will definitely go back.

Juan F S.

Yelp
Great Service Excellent food. Learning experience will have to many times before I can know the menu. New experience for Corpus residents looking for new adventure in food. The ambiiance was excellent, could hear hindi, mandarin, spanish and english conversations throughout restaruant. People with good taste for food have discovered the restaruant.
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Had lots of spice and flavor. Their Naan was buttery and flaky and went so well with this dish!
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
I've ordered carryout/delivery several times since they opened but I had my very first dine in experience on what happened to be their 1 yr anniversary. I was greeted by several employees immediately upon entering and was seated immediately. First things first, it's beautiful in there! The lighting and decorations really set the mood. I ordered mango chicken and garlic naan which was DELICIOUS. The spice was just right and the service was enough for me to eat twice. I'm a light eater but you'll easily have at least a little bit left over. I was given a complimentary dessert which I believe was the rice kheer. I asked the waitress to surprise me. It was tasty! If you like rice pudding or anything along those lines you'll enjoy it. Overall my dine in experience was absolutely wonderful. 10/10 I'm looking forward to my next visit!!
google avatar

Ethan T.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambience. A terrific addition to Corpus Christi dining! Have dined in twice, and take out once. Even better each time!
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Love the Butter Chicken! My family are happy with everything they ordered! Always good service. I am thankful for the gluten free options!
google avatar

G. Brandon C.

Yelp
You really don't know until you go. The depth of flavor is amazing but the food actually gets better with every bite. It's a progression of flavor that will amaze you. Great service and very lovely staff.
google avatar

Stacey R.

Yelp
Oh no! What happened, Persis? I usually love the food and have designated Persis as my favorite place for Indian food in Corpus Christi. Today, I was sorely disappointed. The paneer is overcooked and rubbery and the butter chicken is fatty and hard to chew. I truly hope this is just an 'off' day and not a downward trend. Don't let us down, Persis!
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
We've dined here a few times and every time the food is fabulous. The spices are perfect and the menu selection is great. I originally had my first experience with Indian food in Ohio where I worked with several Indian colleagues. They took me to my first Indian restaurant and cooked food for me. This Resteraunt is the real deal!

Isis V.

Yelp
Amazing good and amazing service from start to end. If you're looking for good Indian food, this is the place to go.

Sonny D.

Yelp
Terrible service and long wait times, no planning in to accommodate customers. Highly arrogant management. Food safety is dangerously low. They are running a sweat by exploiting the Indian workers by not even paying the minimum wages. Stay away from this place to avoid food poisoning

Yelp
Our first visit to this restaurant that had newly opened. My husband and I love Indian Cuisine. We were seated immediately and provided with menus. It took a while for the waitress to take our order but not anything excessive. We ordered appetizers, entrees and roti. I asked for a wine list but they had not produced one yet but the waitress indicated that someone from the bar would come and take our wine order. Unfortunately we had to ask 4 more times before one glass of wine appeared. This was a miss for them. Now the food was wonderful and came out quickly. Masala Papad was the first appetizer. It was wonderfully light and very fresh. I highly recommend it and it was a good value priced at $5.99. Then we had the mixed veg pakora. It was good but too much breading and not enough veggies. It was moderately priced. But overall we were delighted with the appetizers and the chutneys they were served with. For our entrees we ordered Lamb Butter Masala and Veg Chettinad. The lamb was super tender and the curry was smooth and silky tasting. The Chettinad was a very deep spicy curry. It reminded me of a dark rue like a spicy gumbo. It was super spicy but in a deep satisfying way. We had roti for our bread option. It was perfect. One strange note was my husband had iced tea and did not know nor was he informed that they did not offer free refills. So our final bill had 3 separate ice tea charges. We did order Gulab Jamun for dessert. It was delightful but overpriced for portion. They serve two for $5.99. We also ordered Indian coffee. It was great. Overall I felt that offered wonderful food and good service especially for a new restaurant. They do need to get a wine list and reconsider the refills on iced tea or at least inform a customer prior to them ordering

Yelp
Great Food and phenomenal service will be back for sure highly recommend great atmosphere

Mark B.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and we can't wait to come back and try some new dishes. Decor is very pretty and unique. They actually carry prosecco which is a huge plus for us. See yall soon.
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated and clean interior, with a pleasant patio and parking. The service was quick and very kind, and accommodating to our toddler as well. We ordered lots of food! It was all absolutely delicious. We had the chicken vindaloo, palak paneer for the table, butter chicken, samosas and sides of butter naan, raita and mint chutney. Will be coming back! My only wish is that they may offer a buffet in the future

Linda W.

Yelp
Wow! What a great place to get superb Indian food in Corpus Christi. We had a very large table of nine people and everybody went away happy and satisfied. The ambience is so special especially the gorgeous mural and the umbrellas on the ceiling! I love this place!
