Peruvian Fuego Review - Palm Springs - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Residing on the quieter, northern edge of Palm Springs, Peruvian Fuego is an all-around solid Peruvian spot with tasty versions of fish and shrimp ceviche, lomo saltado, and yuca fries. But what sets this tiny strip mall spot apart is their pollo a la brasa. This is some of the best Peruvian rotisserie chicken we’ve eaten in Southern California. It has perfectly crispy skin with a moist, meaty interior and comes unaccompanied with thick French fries and aji verde sauce for a nice kick of heat. If you’re by yourself, the quarter chicken makes for a great solo lunch, but if there’s a group of hungry friends and family waiting back at the house, grab a whole chicken and call it a day." - Brant Cox

Google
What a find! My wife and I stopped by Peruvian Fuego in Palm Springs yesterday, June 7, 2025, after shopping at Cabazon Outlet Mall—a quick 22-minute drive that was totally worth it. This hidden gem blew us away with its delicious food and spotless place. We met the owner, Jairo, who was incredibly warm and recommended the ceviche—absolutely fantastic, and everything we tried was great! El Arroz con pollo, los Anticuchos, la Chicha Morada, el Helado de Lucuma Highly recommend this spot for authentic Peruvian flavors and top-notch hospitality. I can't wait to comeback and try the rest of the menu.

Whether you’re visiting or lucky enough to live in the area, Peruvian Fuego is a must-try if you enjoy authentic, flavorful food. Tucked just a few minutes from the main strip, this small but spotless restaurant delivers big on taste and hospitality. I ordered the shrimp ceviche—perfectly marinated, incredibly fresh, and bursting with flavor. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken with rice was another standout—juicy, well-seasoned, and roasted to perfection. The vibe here is warm and welcoming, with staff who genuinely love what they do. I had a great chat with the chef/owner, who was incredibly kind and humble. On his recommendation, I tried the Lucuma ice cream—a unique Peruvian treat that sealed the deal for me. Simple, delicious, and fairly priced—can’t recommend it enough. This place has heart, flavor, and soul. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Service was amazing. The waiter was very tentative. Food was good. chicken salad burger was humongous, fish ceviche was delicious to me, but my BF said it was too salty. I got yucca fries and they were real good, I just wish they gave me more than 6 sticks of fries… presentation was cute tho lol.

Google
We went to the Aerial Tramway, and we were looking for a place to eat afterwards cause the food up the Tramway wasn’t really calling us. We found this Peruvian place and it was the best decision. The attention was awesome, place was clean, also we were the only people there, which is expected for a Monday. And the food was so good, we ordered, fries Yucca, Ceviche Mixto, Chicken, Choufa, honestly everything was so good. Definitely would come back.

Stopped by for lunch on the weekend. When we finished, the restaurant was booming with customers. The two chicken sandwiches were delicious, packed with flavor and satisfying. We will definitely return to try other items on the tasty menu.

Google
I had a great meal. Warm, personal service. I've been to Peru many times so it was fun to speak with the waiter and the owner about Peru and the food. I had the arroz and pollo with an interesting aji hot pepper sauce. For dessert I had the Yuca ice cream, which was delicious.

Google
It’s a fun little restaurant. Was able to get right in and have a table. The food was great and traditional. There were a few families dining when I went and the staff was able to get my order out quickly. They used good cuts of beef.

Yelp
Celebrating a graduation for one of our oldest and stopped in this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation . Quick sitting and great service. This location provides great music and fun environment. The food was excellent Restroom clean Plenty of parking

Yelp
Glad we found this small Peruvian spot in a big plaza. The shrimp ceviche was a generous portion and deeelicious - a must try! The beef for the Lomo Saltado was unfortunately on the dry side, but the flavor was there. We placed a large order for pick up and the waitress was super friendly and attentive, everything was correct when we brought it back. Will def stop by again on our next trip out here.

Yelp
They serve really good Peruvian food here! If you want to try something different then give Peruvian Fuego a try. They have really good ceviche and anything made of potatoes is good here. Potatoes are a front and center ingredient in Peruvian food. So if you are jonesing for carbs, come here for delicious carbs. Park in the lot out front. Recommend.

Yelp
Delicious, delicious, DELICIOUS!!! Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch and it was amazing. Parking is ample, and there was no wait to be seated. I've had this place bookmarked for a minute and glad I was able to try it. Staff were super nice and pleasant + extremely attentive. They had music playing to add to the vibes, which we loved. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I live live in Japan, and in Japan there are a lot of Peruvian restaurants because of rhe diaspora of Japanese to Peru 100 years ago. This restaurant is great, authentically re-creating the dishes we wanted to eat. While the main Peruvian dish people should know about Pollo à la Brasa, spit roasted chicken with french fries on the side, our favorite is lomo saltado. This is basically delicious beef with stewed tomatoes, and french fries, served over rice. Every time we have it on the menu, we eat it, and we love it.

Yelp
Simply the most flavorful food we've had in Palm Springs. Punches of flavor in the mouth - the must (to me) is the Causa, a delicious cold mashed potato with avocado in the middle, with ceviche on top. PUNCHES IN THE MOUTH WITH FLAVOR. No extra limes cause none are needed. The chicken has a great smoky flavor as well, and shouldn't be missed. The side-sauces almost steel the show. Will be coming back for dessert next time. Great service, friendly staff, passion is evident...An amazing addition to Palm Springs!

Yelp
Great service! Ample amount of parking. Food came out fast and very fresh. Would highly recommend for authentic Peruvian food in Palm Springs. Had the lomo Saltado and the beef was tender. The sauces provided were flavorful and highly recommend to be eaten together.

Yelp
I stumbled on this place during a trip and it's now my favorite place of all time. The food is so delicious and healthy. And it's all very elegant but home style. And very reasonably priced. The fish ceviche is fantastic. Don't miss it. Chicken saltado is perfect with perfectly seasoned vegetables. The waitress said I should get the Crema Volteada for dessert and, Lord, I'm glad I did. The service was extraordinarily friendly and generous. I wish I lived in Palm Springs so I could eat here all the time!

Yelp
I went to Palm Springs for the weekend and to my surprise, this Peruvian Restaurant was 5min from the hotel where I was staying! I LOVE Peruvian food and I love the country (mi segunda patria ) I'm Colombian, but I've visited Peru a couple of times. The service was wonderful‼ Alberto was great in recommending what to eat. He spoke so highly about all of their food. I tried their empanadas and alfajores. I had to try dessert in the desert . Their alfajores were delicious too! Everything was great...especially the Salsa play list! ALL of my favorite songs played while I enjoyed my meal. I felt like I was back in Perú :) Thank you for the great food, excellent service, and fantastic Salsa Play list! Will visit again when I return to PS! Mil gracias :)

Yelp
Peru here we go! Just kidding, but I'll settle for this restaurant in the states for now. Fuego it is!! Location: Located inside of a large plaza on Sunrise Way. Plenty of parking spaces. Interior: Not too many tables and chairs inside the restaurant. They do have some tables and chairs outside. We sat inside as the weather was over degrees. Service: Quick and friendly employees. In addition, they gave us a lot of attention and making sure that we got our food and anything else that we needed. Food: We couldn't decide on what to get so we pretty much ordered a bunch of food. Mixto Ceviche (fish, shrimp, mussels, and calamari): $20 Pan con Chicharron (pork belly sandwich): $13 Empanadas Tallarines Verdes (pan seared steak with spinach and basil linguine): $17 Bisteca a lo Pobre (pan seared steak, fried egg, plantains, French fries, and side of white rice): $17 Can't forget to order their plantains: $6 (sweet and delicious) Drinks: They have all sorts of soft drinks and alcohol. So I tried their Inca Kola ($3) and it was pretty good.

Yelp
The food here is so delicious! It was four of us total and we all shared amongst each other. We ordered sweet plantains, ceviche mixto, tallarin saltado with sirloin, and a whole rotisserie chicken. Oh my gosh where do I even begin! Everything was tasty. I would recommend to get their ceviche mixto and rotisserie chicken for sure. The ceviche had a good variety of seafood and it was fresh and light. The rotisserie chicken was cooked perfectly with tender meat and a slight crisp outer layer of skin. The flavor was amazing as well. It's a small restaurant with top notch service. It felt like as if we were eating in our own home because the vibe was just comforting overall and the food hit the spot.

Yelp
What a fantastic discovery! After moving to Palm Springs, we tried several trendy spots downtown but were left unimpressed. Then, we stumbled upon this hidden gem, and it exceeded all our expectations. The food is absolutely top-notch--bursting with flavor and quality. The service was impeccable, and the owner adds a personal touch that made our experience even more enjoyable. This place is a true standout in the area!

Yelp
Best food in the desert! I love the causa, pollo a la brasa, lomo saltado. They make fresh drinks in house. I loved the chicha margarita.

Yelp
We have a party of 15+ everytime we stay in palm springs and it's not always easy to feed us via restaurant. We ordered take out and the restaurant was SO FAST in preparing our food. The food was not only correctly labeled and organized, but it was DELICIOUS. The green sauce had a kick which was nice. Portions was perfect. Everyone loved their order and we're definitely going to keep this in the rotation. Peruvian Feugo ‍

Yelp
Chaufa was very very good. Five stars for this. Just get this to go. Lomo Saltado was completely underwhelming with super tough leathery poor cuts of beef. Also was over salted. Ceviche had good flavor but I'm not sure if the fish's pieces were supposed to be raw?? Usually ceviche fish protein has been marinated in the lime juice till it turns white, and the acid has denatured or "cooked" the protein. It was not the case with this ceviche. It was definitely still raw or under-marinated.

Yelp
We ordered the Choros a La Chalaca (green mussels) and Ceviche Mixto (had shrimp, fish, squid, octopus, mussels). These dishes were refreshing on a hot summer day.
google avatar

Shirley M.

Yelp
I ordered Ceviche Mixto and Choros a La Chalaca. The order of choros a la chalaca comes with 8 mussels. I liked that that mussels doesn't have kelp inside. The ceviche comes with shrimp, mussels, fish, octopus, squid, white potato, and sweet potato. It was a little spicy but delicious nonetheless. They gave us sauce for both dishes. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. There was a strong putrid smell when I walked in so I decided to sit outside. The plates they gave us to eat our meal was dirty with grease stain.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible Peruvian ceviche in a strip mall. Everything is amazing, and I strongly recommend getting out of your comfort done and trying this place if you haven't had Peruvian food before. The sweet potatoes and ceviche are covered in citrus and salt and taste amazing. The yucca fries are crisp and starchy but slightly sweeter and crunchier than a potato. The lomo saltado has tons of flavor and balanced textures between the crunch of the French fries and the cuts of meat and veggies . The chicharron was great and the green and red hot sauces have unique flavor Ratings: Ambiance: 5/10 Ease of seating/ speed of service: 10/10 Vegan options: 5/10 Gluten free options: 10/10 Low carb options: 5/10 Overall deliciousness: 10/10 Pricing: $$ Parking: big lot Liquor License: yes

Yelp
The ceviche from here is delicious and the tallarin verde with the papa la huancaina was good but what ruined the plate was the chewy steak which is one of the main parts of the dish it had so much fat I couldn't even eat it I was pretty disappointed.Everything else was good. The service was good except for when my husband asked the girl for the bread we ordered, she looked at him with a stinky face like we can't ask her for anything it gave weird vibes.
google avatar

Ruben H.

Yelp
The food was excellent especially the Papa Huacaiana, the Tallarín Verde with chicken was good, but the chicken could have been more moist. Despite the good food, the service could have been better. The waitress appeared to be standoffish, acted very arrogant, and it seemed like she didn't want to be there, thus ruining the vibe. The busser was much nicer and attentive than she was. To call her "sangrona" was an understatement. Four stars for the food, two stars for the service. Might come if their customer service improves.

Carlos C.

Yelp
Don't ever profile a book by its cover !! Unfortunately this place has a good food and that's the reason i when for the first and last time. The waitress who profiles me from the beginning I just walk in. I ask her for couple things and extra beer never show up with it I left with half of my meal with out utensils or bag to carrier my food. horrible to be honest for a $50 meal Sad to share but the table next to me who pretended to have money no even pay the bill and got free dinner. Left with out questions. Can I call this immediately KARMA ?????????? Delicious but never again 4/21/2024. 5:05 pm

Yelp
Service was good. I dined outside. Pollo saltado was good the lomi saltado was ok. The shrimp ceviche was ok. This place did not impress me but was a decent bite to eat while in palm springs with very polite and courteous staff.

Yelp
I'm still salivating after our lunch here! We got the causa con shrimp soltado, chicharron con yucca and choros a la chalaca! Yum! If you're in Palm Springs and are looking for Peruvian food, you have to try this place! The food was so flavorful! It made me so happy! One of the best places we've been to during our trip in the Palm Springs area.

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's on N sunrise way and E vista chino in Palm Springs. In a big shopping center. Ambiance: casual Menu: good variety Service: you order and pay inside first. Then they'll bring you food. Parking: plenty - Gluttony Expedition - Ceviche mix: homey taste, good portion, great. Lomo saltado: great! Good sauce, enough vegetables and French fries. Great! Ceviche w mush potato & avocado: surprisingly those combinations - ceviche, mush potatoes and avocado worked! Refreshing. - Conqueror's Deduction - Homey yet solid food! Great flavors, great portion - 2 items for 2 adults were enough. 3 were too We want to come back for more! Love here!

Yelp
found this place bc we wanted some ethnic food in palm springs and this made the infactuation la list. of course got the lomo saltado and the pepe and WOW. my friend is peruvian and he said this was a 9/10. great flavors, good portions, cool staff. i was impressed. they ran out of the traditional corn drink my friend wanted but just shows how popular it is. cool for a place where there's not a strong peruvian community, this place really stands out. $30 after tip for 2 people too. would come back.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
OK; please don't tell anyone about this hole-in-the-wall with the best chicken EVER. Many people do takeout but you can also dine in (inside and outside but limited) where it's counter service and friendly begging for more of their delicious sauces. The Lomo Soltado was some of the best I've ever tasted (along with their chicken) and the salad was very fresh. Some fluency in Spanish an advantage. Very casual.

Yelp
One of the best Peruvian restaurants I've ever been to! We stumbled upon this restaurant during our visit to Palm Springs. It was so good, I had to come back twice during my visit. The restaurant is located in a plaza, so parking is easy to find. They do have 2 parking spots in front of the restaurant that are saved explicitly for people who will be dining in. My friends and I ordered: - Papa A La Huancaina: $7 - Choros A La Chalaca: $13 - Lomo Saltado: $15 - Causa with Shrimp Saltado: $17 - Tallarin Saltado: $15 - Mixto Ceviches: $17 - 1/4 Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken: $14.50 Everything was delicious and extremely fresh, especially the ceviche. The mixed ceviche had shrimp, mussels, calamari, and fish. There was no fishy taste to it at all and they were generous with their portion sizes. I haven't tried many Peruvian restaurants yet so this was my first time trying Papa A La Huancaina. The sauce was delicious on top of the potato and had a pretty mild kick to it. The more you ate it, the spiciness lingered in your mouth! So good! I tried a bite of my friend's Tallarin Saltado, and it was probably one of the best dishes I've tried. The linguine was super flavorful and had lots of sauce. The portion size for this dish was also huge. The next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be ordering this for myself. My Peruvian rotisserie chicken was super flavorful and juicy. It's one of the best rotisserie chickens I've ever had! You also get to choose between light meat or dark meat, which I liked. This dish also includes two sides. Side options: fries, salad, or rice. Overall, the staff here is extremely friendly and patient. They took the time to answer all of our questions and were nice to let us try some samples. The prices are very reasonable and they were accommodating to my friend's small dog. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in town!

Yelp
Highly recommend it everything we ordered was delicious we came to visit palms springs and found this Peruvian restaurant

Yelp
Great service. Super friendly. Great plantain and sauce. I love how they cook their linguine, but the food is slightly too salty to my taste.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: tasty Service: provincialy polite Ambience: fefinitely not Peruvian Peru is known for it grilled meets, sausages and offal. Throw it on the grill and the meat does the rest.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Alberto greeted us warmly and walked us thru the menu. We loved the ceviche! We ordered his recommendations and were pleased with them all! Casual atmosphere, cold beer, delicious food and wonderful service! Thank you! We were so busy eating forgot to take photo

Yelp
When I lived in Los Angeles, I was blessed to be close to several excellent Peruvian places. Coming to the desert, I was saddened that there weren't any. Until now. My friend had suggested this location. I had heard of it, but was scared to try it. The three of us went in, a little after 6 on a Thursday evening. There were two ladies seated inside. I guess you typically order at the register, but the kind waiter came and took our order at the table. I am a huge fan of papa a la huancaina, so I had to order it. Excellent flavor, but the portion was a little small for the price. I ordered the tallarín verde with chicken saltado. One friend ordered lomo saltado and the other ordered tallarín saltado with beef. I think I got the best dish of the night. I was brought a good sized platter. I'm used to the tallarines being spaghetti, but they used a fettucine type noodle. Flavor was excellent. The chicken was even better. What made me really happy was the inclusion of two pieces of potato. I very nearly licked my plate clean. The guys also emptied their plates. As we ate, many other people came in. Most went straight to the register to order, others sat down. The inside is pretty small. A few pretty decorative objects on one wall. A TV had a rotating show of pictures of the food. Why not five stars? No fountain drinks/tea. Everything was bottled. I hate bottled/canned drinks. There is a small self-service water dispenser, but it didn't look cold. If they add in fountain drinks or fresh-brewed iced tea, I'd be back for dinner a few times a month!
google avatar

Cary L.

Yelp
We normally have a great experience here, but last night was very disappointing. We felt ripped off. Nine dollars for five stale Yucca fries? Are you kidding? All of the food tasted like it had been sitting in a warming tray for several hours. We might go back eventually, and if they are back on their game, I'll modify this review.
google avatar

Paully L.

Yelp
My wife and I love trying new places in the valley! This place was recommended to us by a neighbor and let me tell you that we were not steered in the wrong direction. As soon as we arrived we were quickly greeted and sat at a near by open booth. The server was extremely friendly and welcoming. He asked if we have been here before we replied no and he was very exited to tell us about the menu items. Long story short the food was great the customer service was expertise the environment was amazing! We will definitely be going back soon as well as recommending this location to family and friends!! Good job to the team at Peruvian Fuego..
google avatar

Rosinha A.

Yelp
This is a worthwhile casual stop. If nothing else, they are playing some of the best traditional salsa ever... Willie Colón, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Frankie Ruiz, La Sonora Carruseles, Grupo Niche, La India, Marc Anthony... and the food is good. Not cheap, but good. I had the fish ceviche ($16) which was very tender and flavorful (except the sweet potato, which may have been canned). You order at the counter, then your order is delivered to your table. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. They offer Lucuma ice cream, which is handed to you in a little white carton ($6.50). Enough for two people. I'll be back, but i'll bring a friend to dance with (and share my ice cream with!).

Amy W.

Yelp
Top quality food and service. Left with full and happy belly. Very authentic style that is favored by local and visiting Peruvians.

Yelp
I'm definitely adding this place to my "Must Visit" places when in Palm Springs. I've had Peruvian food once before and didn't think I liked Peruvian cuisine. Turns out I do! This place had amazing food. I wish I had a bigger appetite because we sat by the counter and every dish that was coming out looked like something I wanted to try. I had the roasted chicken and my husband had the pork sandwich. Both were amazing!
google avatar

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Look no further!! Peruvian Fuego is one of the best Peruvian cuisine restaurants in Palm Springs. I tried there pan con chicharrón, Tamale, Causa with Lomo Saltado. 10/10 recommended if you like Peruvian food or if you enjoy trying something new everyday just like me!

Jungmin R.

Yelp
5/5. Highly recommended. I have tried a couple highly rated restaurants in the Palm Springs downtown area and this place my favorite. Amazing flavor, excellent price, friendly staffs, and cute interior. I ordered Ceviche Mixto ($16), Choros A La Chalaca ($10), Yuca fries ($6), and 1/4 Chicken ($4.5). Everything was super delicious. Seafood was fresh, sauces were flavorful, chicken was moist, and yuca fries were hot and crispy. Three sauces that come with yuca fries were super flavorful, especially the orange one. Wonderful. I will come back.

Yelp
I'm not from around the area but I was into town for a concert, so I wanted to stop by somewhere to eat before. I'm a big fan of Peruvian food so this place was nearby and decided to give it a try. I ordered the TALLARINES VERDES w/ LOMO SALTADO. WOW!.. everything was mas amazing and great savory. Staff was very friendly as well and will def come back here whenever I'm around the area!

Yelp
Finally had chance to visit ;good menu with many options. Loma saltado very traditional and tasty , chicken brava tasty rotisserie chicken with two sides . Very friendly staff and chef does all dishes well. Wish we had the restaurant back home in San Francisco !!!

Yelp
Walked in and it was clean and the employees were very welcoming. They were informative and gave great recommendations, that we will definitely be trying next time! My boyfriend and I got the Lomo Saltado. It was so delicious that we forgot to take a picture before we dug in. Portion size would've been perfect if it was a little more. We ordered takeout or else we would've ordered something extra. Only reason for 4 stars because it was not filling. Other than definitely recommend when visiting Palm Springs!

Yelp

Yelp
I noticed this place on the map nearby. Being a fan of Peruvian food already, I was very excited to try it. We ordered the soup which was a special for the day, not part of the regular menu. Large portion and SO tasty. I ordered the tallarin verde with chicken saltado- the chicken was tender, the pasta and sauce were divine, and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chaufa with chicken, and it was also a large portion that was delicious. We'll only be in town 3 nights but the likelihood of us eating here again before we leave is highly likely.
