Okay, the atmosphere is a little whacked with an industrial zone, loud music playing, a bar that's a bit too high to eat off of, and more. But the food is fantastic, and the people are awesome. If you're curious about Peruvian food, do not miss this place.

Very friendly service. The ceviche de pescado was good. Favorite was the Seco de la Norteña, which has a fantastic cilantro based sauce on top. Chica was also great!

Truly an unforgettable experience at Peruvian Taste today. The owner Jose and his team cook authentic Peruvian food with passion and love! We had the lomo Saltado, Pan con Chicharron (reminded me of El Chinito’s in Lima)!!, aeropuerto, and piccarones!!! Muy delicioso!! Thank you so much Jose we will be back again very soon!!!

I’m a food lover from Japan. At first, I felt a bit intimidated walking through a dark, quiet neighborhood to find this place, but the restaurant was welcoming! The food was incredible—I had never had such dishes before and was truly impressed. The staff was attentive, constantly wiping the table, but I’m sorry to say the restroom was gross. Still, I’m looking forward to coming back!

Google
Visiting this place on my first day in Boston was truly amazing! The food is incredibly satisfying, and as a Peruvian myself, this is by far the most authentic restaurant I’ve come across. The service was excellent, super friendly and understanding. My friends and I love this space, and we hope to come again! ** great recommendation to anyone who is looking to get Peruvian food ** PERUVIAN CERTIFIED 🔥🔥🔥

Google
All the dishes that I have tried have tasted delicious and authentic. Never disappoints!! The owner did a great job of making the atmosphere feel like we’re right in Peru. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Edit: I’ve noticed that the service and quality seems to be inconsistent and mostly depends on whether the owner is here or not. When the owner is there I always have an exceptional experience. When he’s not the experience is mid.

Google
Hands-down, the best restaurant around Cambridge area. It might be a little corner, but it’s the best. When it comes to authentic food They got it all even street food that you can find on Peru not other restaurant has the same as here so if you really want a little taste of Peru just come here!!

Google
Que rico!!! This Latina says the food here is super authentic and unbelievably delicious! Very flavorful, but not over the top, down to the white rice. It’s just like the food my grandmother made. We had Lomo Saltado with egg and maduros. And that includes the jugo de Maracuyá o jugo de parcha (passionfruit juice). Brought memories of drinking my grandma’s juice on her porch. The service was so nice and kind with a smile! I’m so thrilled we stopped at this unassuming corner neighborhood restaurant. It’s small, but nice and clean inside. Man, I’d like to come back for dinner!

Yelp
Honestly DELICIOUS, the best example to delight the Peruvian flavor is Peruvian Taste. My family and I order the marine trio every time we go and it is the best. Honestamente RIQUISIMO, el mejor ejemplo para deleitar el sabor peruano es Peruvian Taste. Mi familia y yo pedimos el trio marino cada vez que vamos y es lo mejor. El ambiente es super acogedor.

Yelp
AMAZING Peruvian Restaurant in Charlestown, MA. Food was super authentic, both in flavors and in preparation. The Papas A La Huancaina and the Anticuchos were absolutely PERFECT appetizers. The ceviche and the chicharron de pescado were amazing main dishes to share. The staff was lovely, the Latin music playing added to the authenticity of the place. There are beautiful pictures on the wall that are clearly important to the owners and likely from their home. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Peruvian flavors!

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Friday night. This place is a hidden gem in Somerville, right at Sullivan station. We had reservations since a lot of the reviews mentioned the space is small. Inside it's cozy and has about 5-6 tables. The interior and decor is on point. Their menu has a lot of options and specials and if you're a vegetarian, do not hesitate to ask them for veggie options (they have many!). I got the Lomo Saltado and my friend got a rice Nd bean dish. Both tasted amazing, the flavours and spices hit the spot.

Michael W.

Yelp
The food was delicious. My wife is from Peru and it tasted like home. I had the Lomo and it was amazing, very very similar to how it is served in Lima. While a small location, the inside had a very Peruvian look and feel to it. AC may make it chilly for some so being a jacket if you are sensitive to AC. The staff was polite and prompt. They were accommodating to substitute for other options in the menu. I was worried initially about parking but when I arrived I was able to park right in front without issue. Well with the visit if you want authentic Peruvian food.

Yelp
Food was incredible! My first dip into Peruvian food and the food was delicious and jam packed with flavor. This is a tiny restaurant that wasn't around much. No problem finding parking and because it's so small you definitely need a reservation. The server was so nice and explained all the entrees to us when we asked questions. Lomo saltado is a must order and I absolutely loved the ceviche and arroz con mariscos

Yelp
The flavor of the lomo saltado is very good but the portion of meat is very small but it is very tender maybe it is tenderloin and that is expensive but I don't think so everything is expensive in these times anyway the dish costs $20 the rice is perfect and it's jasmine. I'll have to go back to try something chifa.

Yelp
Small place, Food is definitely worth tasting. Even with such a small place, took forever for one of the two servers to come take our order. Parking wasn't an issue over the weekend. Plenty of street parking. The taste is authentic and generous portions. Cons for the location is the waiters are un attentive and lack of serving liquor. Even with those cons, the food was pretty tasty and worth the visit.

Yelp
I went to the Peruvian Taste Restaurant located on 78 Arlington Ave, Charlestown, MA 02129 to try authentic peruvian food. For appetizers we had the wonton fritos off their Chifa/Peruvian chinese section of the menu. The name "chifa" originates from the Mandarin "chi-fan," which means "to eat rice." The wonton fritos were paired with a sweet red duck sauce. These were delicious and people describe the flavor as having pork rinds (chicharon) and dumplings (siomai) at the same time. When I come back to this spot I want to try more off this section of the menu! Another appetizer we had was the Anticuchos. This was beef heart marinated in peruvian aji panca sauce. These were so good and probably the best tasting meat of the evening. For entrees we had the Mar y Tierra. This dish had fettuccine pasta with huancaina sauce, steak and shrimp. This dish was a unique combination and very tasty! We also tried the Lomo Saltado which was grass-fed steak, onions, tomatoes, rice and fries. The steak was so tender- I will be dreaming about eating it again! For dessert we had a peruvian ice cream flavor known as Lucuma. The best way to describe this flavor was that it had a hint of caramel/maple. We also tried Leche Asada which was very similar to a rice pudding. Everything was so good at this spot! This place deserves a whole lot more LOVE! I recommend it if you are in the area and want to try Peruvian food. Overall Rating: Food: 7/10 Affordability: 7/10 Ambiance: 6/10

Yelp
(English below.) De vez en cuando les sale la sazón peruana. A veces los picarones, el arroz con pollo, el ají de gallina, y el lomo saltado les resulta rico -- a veeeces. Pero cuando les sale bien, les sale recontra bien. Otras veces, no tanto. Plop. (No pidan el arroz chaufa. El arroz no es graneadito, no tiene kión y muy poca cebolla china.) Hit or miss, but sometimes pretty authentic. The outside of the restaurant looks shady, but inside it's cozy.

Yelp
Mejor restaurante Peruano en Boston. Te sirven bueno bonito barato y Taipa!! No se lo pierdan, caminando de la estación de Sullivan Square, orange line

Yelp
This place is under a new administration, used to eat here at least twice a week, after a 3 months hiatus I stopped by and ordered a Chaufa mixto to go, house fried rice, good amount of meat but the rice was bad, they used small grain rice that does not open properly to give the Chaufa its distinct flavor/taste, going forwards I don't know if I will venture stopping by again...stay tune

Yelp
Being married to a Peruvian and living in South Florida I am no stranger to Peruvian food and flavor. This restaurant had the best Peruvian food that I've had outside of Peru. Better than anything I've had in Florida. We had a pan con chicharron to start. The bread was soft, fresh and went so well with the pork, sweet potato and onions. We shared a Trio Criollo, which came with Lomo saltado, arroz con pollo and Seco de Carne. All 3 dishes were incredible. We ordered picarones for dessert and they were also out of this world. Authentic, delicious. Everything hit the mark and exceeded my expectations. Do NOT miss this place!

Yelp
I was looking for something different for dinner after Thanksgiving in the Boston area. I stumbled upon this Peruvian restaurant in Charlestown. What a great find! I just visited Peru earlier this year. This place is what you may find in a Peruvian neighborhood. It's a colorful homey place with authentic Peruvian food. I went for Trio Marino and a glass of Chicha Morada. That was perfect. There are other dishes that I would love to try in the future - this place is now on my list of homey places to have a great meal. The owner Jose and folks who work there were so warm and helpful. Great food and great people - what not to like?

Yelp
Visiting Boston today for the Knicks vs Celtics game, coming from Westchester there are plenty of great Peruvian food so had to check this place out. The place is easily the cutest I've ever been to! The food was decent we had beef heart, halea for the table, and two orders of lomo. Lomo portions are small compared to what we are used to. Food was 8/10 service was 8/10 ambiance 10/10

Yelp
The only Peruvian restaurant on GrubHub in Boston area, Peruvian Taste serves up the classics. Was skeptical about takeout ceviche but thought I'd give it a try, why not? There's a snow day tomorrow, if needed I could recover lol. Anyway, the ceviche was delicious, along with other dishes I ordered lomo saltado and seca de carne. Don't be try, try this place!

Siddharth P.

Yelp
Loved the food! The service was friendly- the ambience was great! I went here with my Peruvian friend and got a good taste of Peruvian culture- 100% recommend the Ceviche!!

Yelp
Peruvian Taste is amazing! Every bite took me straight to Lima. The ceviche anticuchos, ají de gallina, and seco de res were off the charts delicious. And don't even get me started on the causa, papa a la Huancaína, and papa rellena! Felt just like abuelita's Sunday dinners. Some of the best Peruvian home cooking in the US, hands down. Check it out!

Latonya V.

Yelp
The squid and ceviche is impeccable. The ceviche. Gorgeous. The employees were incredibly sweet, quick and efficient. 10/10 restaurant all around.

Neha K.

Yelp
One of the few Peruvian restaurants I've seen in the Boston area - this was my first time trying Peruvian food so I didn't really know what to expect. The food was amazing and definitely exceeded my expectations! We got the Papa a La Huancaina, Aeropuerto, Aji de Gallina, and Alfajores for dessert. All of the dishes were so flavorful and tasted fresh. The prices were pretty reasonable as well.

Yelp
Great food, Great Service, Great taste! The closest you'll get to Peruvian Style home-cooking. Try the Ceviche, Leche De Tigre and pretty much anything else you crave.

Yelp
This restaurant is relatively new and in a little section of Charlestown near Sullivan Square that I had never explored even though I live in Charlestown. Admittedly the location is a bit off the beaten track but it's definitely worth checking out as it's the best Peruvian restaurant I've found in Boston. We tried the ceviche, the carapulcra, and the lomo saltado. The ceviche was the most authentic Peruvian style ceviche we've found in Boston with sweet potato, and two types of corn. The portion was large and flavor was absolutely delicious. A little aji chile on the side to mix in made it even better. This is one of my all time favorite dishes period, and I was so happy to find a place that can make an amazing ceviche in my neighborhood. The carapulcra (daily special) is an interesting traditional Peruvian dish that you don't see too often. It's a stew made with dried potatoes and pork. It was really good and hit the spot on a cold day. Finally the lomo saltado was also perfect. The meat was so tender rand seasoning was perfect. At the end we tried 3 types of ice cream made from fruits from the amazon which were delicious. Best of all, it's a really small place run by a friendly Peruvian family and we really felt like we were visiting friends and they were making us dinner. That made the atmosphere very different from any other Peruvian restaurant in town in a good way. I highly recommend this place and I will be back soon.

Yelp
We picked up takeout from this place last night - Aji de Pollo and Lomo Saltado, with Wonton Frito and Churros just for kicks. I'm a sucker for Aji chicken - it's just down home comfort food, whether you're Peruvian or not. This did not disappoint. Complete with the hard-boiled egg, olive and potatoes, the shredded chicken in mild sauce was JUST what I was craving. The portions are neither too big nor too small; I finished it up and was satisifed. My husband had the lomo saltado. It was hard to get an opinion out of him until he finished because his mouth was always full. He said it was perfect, and finished it up. The wontons were crispy and not greasy, with just a little bit of chicken inside. Some might complain about wanting more stuffing, but I liked it for the lightness of the appetizer. The duck sauce for dipping was unusual and really good. Now that I know they fry stuff without making it greasy I'm dying to try the chicharron de pescado. The churros were filled with a caramel sauce and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Mmmmmmm. I am planning to go back and try the ceviche, which I fully expect to be just as good. I think this place will become a regular stop for us!

Yelp
Authentic Peruvian restaurant with reasonable price. Ordered chicha, beef heart appetizer and trio criollo. Trip criollo include pollo fried rice, Lomo Saltado and stewed lamb. Quite authentic family style food. Reasonable portion fed us well. Will try other dishes in the future. Keep an eye on their daily special.

Yelp
Authentic family owned Peruvian Restaurant. Loved the interior, the music, and the service was attentive. The Jalea Peruana was bomb, loved that there is Yuca frita here

Diana A.

Yelp
This is my favorite authentic Peruvian spot. It is a small establishment with about 4 tables. Once you're inside you're literally transported to a spot in Lima, Peru. The food is amazing and authentic. Give it a try!

Yelp
Tiny little restaurant in Charlestown with only 5 or so tables. We came for a late lunch and the owner served us. We ordered the fish ceviche and the three-ceviche starter along with the Ají de gallina. I was really impressed with the portion size of the fish ceviche, indeed it was fresh, tender, and full of flavor. The sweet potato was a great contrast (wish there was one more piece) and the roasted corn was especially good in this dish for the textural contrast. I also loved that the ceviche wasn't too sour, it had the right balance and I just wanted to keep eating. However, we took a break for the Ají de gallina and I was impressed. The flavor was fantastic and it tasted rich and comforting. A few pieces of the roasted corn gave me some crunch I wanted! We loved the dishes so much my dining partner ordered the ceviche and chicken to take home to his family! We had great service, prices were fair, and overall it was a fantastic experience.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here before a theater performance around the corner and I'm so glad we found it. The food was excellent (I got the Aji de Gallina, my husband got the daily specia, and we shared a leche asada for dessert), and well priced with large portions. Definitely will make the trip from the South Shore again!

Yelp
Delicious food and warm hospitality! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend the yuca with guacamole, ceviche mixto, and freshly made churro!

Yelp
Good and decent menu, i tried the "lomo saltdo" the meat was tasty and great flavor. The portions are a little small, but probably is because the food was so good and we want to keep eating!. We went on a week day so they were out of desserts!. Is really tricky to arrive, but there is plenty of parking around it

Paul H.

Yelp
I've not eaten this much in a long time. Food was delicious, and big portions. Our favorite was the tamales, Jalea with the green sauce. The picarones were sooo good. And make sure you drink chicha morada. As a peruvian foodie, I enjoyed this restaurant. The atmosphere also brought me back home (Peru) if felt great. Will definitely recommend it.

Mike B.

Yelp
Great food and service! Hidden gem! If your in Charlestown and looking for Peruvian food try this place

Yelp
I am new to Boston and we were looking for a mix of something to eat. It was delicious and served warm. The app is perfect to keep me posted on the delivery. The order was perfect and the delivery driver was professional and courteous. It was a nice meal to settle in to my new location and not have to cook. We will definitely recommend them to you....

Yelp
OMG, Peruvian Taste was truly incredible. Delicious menu items at good prices, fantastic atmosphere to unwind at. Everything I've tried so far has been marvelous. The team was extremely helpful and service is outstanding. Definitely will come to Peruvian Taste again.

Yelp
I live in LA now but raised in Miami where I was able to learn about the amazing Peruvian food culture and I was so impressed and grateful to find a great family restaurant with the best variety of tasteful dishes!! Super recommend this restaurant to everyone!! Def a hidden gem ! Already ordered 5 times in a week! Thank you to the owner and staff for an amazing experience!!

Eryn S.

Yelp
Ordered Lomo Saltado through Ubereats and was very pleased with the packaging! I was a bit worried since I'm ordering all the way from CA for my bf whos at Boston rn, but they wrapped it really well to prevent any spillage. The only thing that docked 1 star off is the portion was small for $18. Other than that, he enjoyed his food.

Lucas J.

Yelp
one of the BEST 'Aguadito' soups I've ever had, followed by an OUTSTANDING "Seco de Carne, ", superb family atmosphere, great service, very friendly staff. Highly recommend this new entry

Bob P.

Yelp
Delightful spot! Breakfast tamale was hot, fresh and delicious. Coffee was bold and free flowing. Service kind and friendly. We hope to go back on a weekend for their additional Peruvian specials.
