CR7 Hotel Funchal – A Fantastic Stay with Great Hospitality|We just returned from a week in Madeira, and staying at the CR7 Hotel in Funchal was an absolute pleasure. Our room overlooked the harbor, offering a peaceful and beautiful view—especially in the early morning, when the calm waters and gentle sunrise made for a perfect start to the day. My son was delighted to find a thoughtful welcome gift waiting for him upon arrival.|The dining experience was excellent—we sampled several dishes from the menu, all delicious, with my personal favorite being the CR7 bowl with prawns. Breakfast was impressive, with plenty of choices, including sparkling wines. The chef went above and beyond, preparing my egg white omelet packed with proteins and vegetables every morning on request. Contrary to some reviews, the breakfast selection was more than satisfying, rivaling what we've experienced in hotels worldwide. If you prefer à la carte, simply ask the chef—he’ll make it with a smile.|The rooftop pool and hot tub provided a relaxing escape, never too crowded, and the sauna was just a request away. Watching people in the square below taking photos with Ronaldo’s statue and shouting “Suiii” added to the lively atmosphere.|From arrival to departure, the staff were exceptional. Eduardo, despite being busy with check-ins and check-outs, took the time to give us recommendations and even arranged a CR7 tour on the spot—an experience we truly enjoyed. Adriano stood out as well, always taking the time for a friendly chat. The housekeeping team ensured our room was refreshed daily and greeted us warmly in the corridors.|Cristiano Ronaldo has been my son’s idol since he was little, and being able to visit the place where he was born, stay in this hotel, and go on a tour of where he played was truly unforgettable. This hotel added an extra sparkle to the entire experience, making it even more special for us.|With the CR7 Museum located in the same building, this hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that blends comfort, great service, and a bit of football magic. If you’re looking for a welcoming and well-managed stay in Funchal, this place delivers!

My stay at Pestana CR7 Funchal was an incredible experience from start to finish. The hotel has a vibrant, modern vibe with stylish interiors and a sporty touch that reflects Cristiano Ronaldo’s personality—perfect for fans and non-fans alike.||The location is fantastic—right on the marina with beautiful views, close to Funchal’s old town and key attractions. The room was clean, cozy, and well-designed, with great amenities and a super comfortable bed.||Breakfast was one of the highlights—fresh, varied, and served with a smile. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The rooftop area was also a gem—great for relaxing or grabbing a drink after a day of exploring.||Whether you’re visiting Madeira for adventure or relaxation, Pestana CR7 offers a perfect blend of comfort, location, and unique flair. I’d definitely return!

- [ ] Great view from our room (once tbe cruise liner had gone!). While the cruise liner was there (for the first 1.5 days of our 3 night stay we were completely overlooked by the liner).|- [ ] Our room was VERY small - room 149. Try not to stay in that one if you can. Every time we sneaked a peek into one of the others, they looked a lot bigger!|- [ ] Service in the restaurant was SO slow. Every single time. It takes at least 15 minutes to get drinks, and ages to even be noticed by the wait staff to be given menus. Conversely, the food comes out really really quickly once you’ve ordered.|- [ ] Reception service is excellent, they are probably the most positive thing about the hotel to be honest. |- [ ] Museum entry is NOT included. It’s only €5 each but annoying when you’ve been led to believe it’s included |- [ ] Our main meals were not great at all. Beef chewy, tuna dry, chips dry. I left most meals tbh, I was thankful we were only half board and not all inclusive. The starters (bolo de caco and chicken wings) were nice. The fruit choice at breakfast was limited but okay. They aren’t so great at replenishing food so quite often you’d go up and there would be just an empty platter. |- [ ] The waiting staff are nice enough but lack the basic gestures like asking you if everything is ok with your meal or commenting when you send back a full plate. |- [ ] Hotel feels run down / in need of TLC. Strip lighting not working in places, our balcony door could only be opened by pulling it towards us and then pushing it, the carpet looks a bit worse for wear, our bathroom door didn’t fully close, the menus are dirty and in places illegible because they’re so worn the lettering has rubbed off. Just replace them! |- [ ] It was my son’s 18th while we were there, I let the hotel know in advance and they told me they would help me to make it special for him. They did precisely nothing other than bring the cake that I’d paid €45 for to the room. No balloons, no Prosecco or similar, none of the things we have previously experienced from other hotels for special birthdays. And on top of that, I’d asked for the cake to be brought to our room by 8am, I had to phone twice (unanswered) and then email them before they brought it up to us.|- [ ] We booked the hotel knowing its location and that it had a rooftop pool, thinking we would use that to watch the fireworks of the Atlantic Festival on the Saturday night. Unfortunately there was a pool party going on from 4pm-1am. Whilst guests got free access, it meant the pool was not useable in the normal way for 20 hours of our stay (from 4pm one day until 12pm the next day for cleaning).

Located by the sea, centre of Funchal. You can discover all the city by feet. Room is big and well decorated and clean. All the team was very polite and attentive to all your needs. They also suggest the best local points you can’t miss. Food was delicious: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you !!!

Small almost boutique hotel in Funchal marina. Very good breakfast, excellent staff willing to help in case of any issues. They help me with rescheduling the flight and let us stay in the hotel until midnight to wait for Uber. There is small pool on the roof so do not expect really to swim. There is also a jacuzzi and sauna on request. Hotel is offering a parking in garage downstairs for 15€/day which is cheaper than garage price list. Hotel restaurant will provide you with good menu for a fair price. Expect to walk cca. 15 minutes to city center. About the rooms: do not expect and luxury or big size space. Interesting is that hotel has no connection with the CR7 museum next door. What is missing to the hotel is more personal CR7 touch. Except some CR7 jerseys and drawings in rooms you could not tell it is CR7 hotel. Should be more football oriented to show off why has CR7 in its name.

After our stay in Lisbon, we visited the Pestana CR7 Hotel in Funchal (Madeira) – and it was absolutely worth it! 🇵🇹 The hotel is much more affordable: we paid €293 for one night (family of four). As a special surprise, we received free tickets to the CR7 Museum, along with a handwritten welcome note in our room – such a personal and thoughtful touch! 💌 This place is a true themed hotel: The room and hotel are full of clever CR7 design elements and details. The pool – amazing! 💦 The gym/fitness area – also fantastic and well-equipped! 🏋️‍♂️ In the evening, we watched the Nations League Final, and Portugal won – the atmosphere was incredible! 🇵🇹🎉 The food was top-notch, and the location right at the harbor is just beautiful. We would definitely love to come back – highly recommended for CR7 fans and anyone visiting Madeira!

The room is modern, nice view to Funchal Bay, hotel is small but cosy. Perfect to small stays and for who wants to explore the island. Really nice breakfast with a lot of options, food is also delicious and well presented. Swimming pool is fantastic and jacuzzi and sauna as well.

Very good hotel. Excellent breakfast and they serve good food. Staff is very kind and open to help. Pool is not that big but it’s worth to try it. It’s about 10-15 min walk to city centre
