The cutest fully stocked fur baby shop!!!! We ran out of Inaba Churu treats so we went here to get some and they have all the most delicious flavors in stock!! The Meownager tabby came up to check if I needed any assistance 😹😹😹😹 as he has his hooman working at the counter. Really well priced too. I like this place. It’s crammed but has everything. And the shop cat likes dogs. I mean, that alone surely is the reason for a visit no?

Cute hole in the wall pet store with fairly reasonable prices! You certainly could get a bigger bang for your buck online or at a Petco depending on what brand you buy, but they have much higher quality stuff and a wide assortment of products for such a small space. Kind employees. Super fun to watch all the dogs that come in and around it! They have free treats for dogs that come in with their owners I believe.

There is a wide variety of options to pick at this place but it is a bit pricey than chewy or petco. The only problem I had with this place was the food cans I brought were expired and there was mold inside I had to throw away 3 cans. But other than that I had no other problems

I am not sure what is wrong with that guy Calvin Ho who wrote a review because the owner of Pet Bar is one of the most pleasant and helpful people you could wish would own a mom and pop pet store. He is super knowledgeable and speaks English just fine. I would spend my hard earned money on my babies here over and over.

I have been shopping here for 20 years. They have the best selection of high end food and a ton of great products crammed in the store. The home delivery is super fast! Love these guys.

The staff here is genuinely so sweet. I had to stop in while I was traveling from out of town and the staff was helpful and friendly. They helped me try numerous sweaters on my dog for size without rushing us. They were incredibly patient and even gave my girl some extra treats in between. You can tell the local dog owners love this spot and I can see why!

Great pet shop in the village. Responsive, priced and stocked well. Delivery is a breeze. Happy to support one of the last small independent pet stores . Glad they are here!

Great if you like getting ripped off. Place I usually go to was all out, so I was forced to go here for frozen dog food. $14 more than my usual place! $35.90 instead of $22.00! Guy was a creep when I mentioned it, too. Ah well, see ya never

Thank Goodness for independent pet supply stores! This shop has been around quite some time. The current proprietor, Sammy, is such a pleasant man. And the employee Freddy is a sweetheart. There is a great selection of food, toys, health products, sweaters, & so forth-all at a fair price. It's my first choice for shopping for an animal friend. Definitely a gem of a business.

This is the cutest little pet shop and I am happy to have found it. They have a good variety of leashes, collars, toys and treats. I am not sure if the older gentleman was the owner but he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me find the perfect harness for my fur baby. The only downside is that some items are pricey. I really wanted to support a shop v. amazon but I know that the 4 items I purchased would have cost around 40 opposed to double the price. Also, one of the teeth cleaning toys came apart in 10 minutes which was disappointing.

I regularly buy dog food here and always bring my miniature labradoodle. The owner is responsive and knows pets. Plus the cats that are here are mellow and wander around freely in the shop.

This place was great. Local independent shop, stocked with a huge variety of top line and healthiest foods and pet needs. I was very happy I had such a big selection when I walked in, a lot of options here that I can't find at petsmart, whole foods, and some of the other stores you may turn to. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was buying for my first adopted cat and asked a ton of questions, they were all answered for me with in-depth knowledge on food, accessories, and other needs. The owner recognized me the second time coming and I even gave him an update of how my cat liked the toy I bought. They also do free deliveries in the area by phone, which is super helpful if you have an restock emergency or if you're too busy to go pick up in person. And for food they also offer a 10% discount when you buy a set of 24 cans, they can be mixed from different brands and flavors. I enjoy coming here to support the local independent businesses in this neighborhood, and encourage you to as well if you're in the area.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. I usually call Called them up at 6:50 pm on the Saturday before Easter. Was pretty sure it was to late to order dog food, treats and wee wee pads for delivery but figured I would give it a shot. When I asked the woman that answered the phone if it was possible to get a delivery she said it was no problem. She was patient and went through sizes and prices for everything and I didn't get even the slightest hint that I was bothering her. My order came within a half an hour. Great selection of pet food brands. Nice people. Convenient.

Wonderful neighborhood store that has us returning. We'll be minimizing our trips to the "big box" pet stores because they have just about everything you might need at reasonable prices. Staff is great.

Jimmy helped me ween my cat off of an insanely expensive RX food, helped me change her to an affordable litter that doesn't irritate her skin, and get her hotspot to begin healing. He doesn't just try to sell products, he genuinely listens to your pet's concerns and recommends products and food based on years of experience. I don't buy the most expensive food and litter from him but I am now a customer for life... I feel guilty now getting my pets supplies anywhere else.

I love this place. It's run by a family who's run this and another pet shop for a few decades and they're always very helpful and friendly; it also has a surprisingly wide selection of products for such a small shop. The cats-in-residence Lulu and Princess make excursions to the Pet Bar something to look forward to!

Sure I'm walking distance to both PetSmart and Petco...but (for me) we need many more great small shops like The Pet Bar. It's a rare shopping experience in these days when you're short a few bucks and the owner says, "Just pay me when you're back next time." It's also an almost romantic of-times-past experience to overhear a phone-in delivery order for PET FOOD/ SUPPLIES! My Jack Russells love the "premium" treats behind the cashier (not like the cardboard cookies they snub at Petco)...and are happily befuddled by the wandering dog-friendly resident cat--great for inter-species relations (though misleading because they now assume they can safely walk up to any strange cat for an innocent say-hi sniff).

I've been going here since I moved to the neighborhood! Owner is friendly and has the food my picky cat with lots of food allergies will eat. He's been open during the pandemic as well! Great service! Wish I had more pets to buy for.

They probably have "inside" knowledge on animals here...all the right products and very helpful staff. Pets are funny ....remember thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.

I just moved from LA to NYC with my 7lb Maltese, Oliver and was worried I wouldn't be able to find to find the specialty food he loves. I Yelped The Pet Bar and figured I'd give it a try. It is a cute little store with a great selection of healthy and natural food, treats, and toys. The prices are great (actually cheaper than I paid in LA) and the service is amazing. They carry Honest Kitchen dog food, a great all natural brand, that is usually hard to find. Mike was super cool and when I told him I just moved to the neighborhood he gave me a "welcome gift" for my little guy, a bag of mini tennis balls! He also sent me off with a bunch of free food samples and treats. Super nice guy, great service, and affordable prices. What else could you want! I highly recommend the Pet Bar oh and they DELIVER :)!

After looking for a pet place by my area, i decided to come here for the first time today. I recently got a puppy and being a newbie to anything animal/pet related i popped in here. Yes the place is small but i didnt mind it. I walked in and there was a large array of items. For someone who knows nothing about dog supplies i was a bit overwhelmed. A gentlemen came over and asked if i needed any assistance. Im assuming he was the owner (?) he was very understanding and helped me out a lot. As i tried to explain to him my new pet and my non understanding of the different leashes, to which chew toy is better and which cute sweater i should pick up, his patience to explain everything thoroughly made me feel at ease. I walked out with a cute sweater and some toys for my dog ( all for 30 bucks!) The guy even said if the sweater was to big or too small he would gladly exchange it for another size! *bonus points* i will go back on Tuesday when they are bringing in more Christmas costumes ( yes i know, i just got a pet and im dressing him up lol). great local place. definitely recommended.

I always loved the façade and sign for pet bar and just got a dog so I'd have an excuse to shop there. Of course when that day came I didn't know wtf I was doing and these guys were there for me and then some. It's tempting to buy everything online these days but if you live in this area you know how much small businesses appreciate (and need) your business. Super knowledgeable staff as well. Last time I went I didn't hit the cc minimum and the guy just told me to take it and pay for it later. Can't put a price on service like that imo.

Cute little pet store that happens to be between work and the 1 train if I decide I don't want to transfer from the R at Times Square. It's a tiny place but they have a ton of stuff packed in there. They carry the semi fancy food I feed my cat (Nutro) that I can't find just anywhere. The first time I grabbed a big bag of dry food the guy at the cashier excitedly told me that they offer free delivery in Manhattan. me - "really? even all the way up to 193rd st.?!" him - "oh...uh...well maybe if you buy like $100 worth of stuff." one day I will really stock up and see if he'll really do it! not too bad of an offer really!

Great place! They have everything you might need for your furry best friend! Picked up some essentials...dog t-shirt and breathe spray/ dog mints. The staff is very friendly. Definitely stop by and pick up something special for your pet!

we love the pet bar! the owner is so kind and the selection is wide and they have everything we need. i don't know what we would do without them in the neighborhood and our dogs love visiting the store as often as possible, but they also are our go to supplier for all we need to keep two dogs rolling on a day to day basis. they are the best!!!

These guys are the best. They are very helpful, very warm and they have great advice. I pull up and park next to the hydrant and they have my order of dust free litter, preservative free cat food, squeaky cat toys and other what-not eady to throw in the trunk. I think they are wonderful!!!!

Pricey compared to my shop in Hoboken (few bucks more per item I noticed), but the staff are very friendly, but not overbearing and have great suggestions! Solid.

I've been going to this store for 7 years. I used to live a block away, so it was super convenient, but then I moved away (by NYC standards ... maybe it is about a half-mile), and I was sad it wasn't convenient for me to shop there. I was so happy when I found out they have free delivery! Now I'll stop by if it's on my way, and if it's not I'll just call and they have my stuff here within an hour. The staff is always very helpful, and somehow they have a great selection of food, etc. (including organic) in their tiny shop. If you don't see what you need, ask them - they have ordered stuff for me in the past, and I think they have some stock in the basement (extra large bags of food, for example) that they don't have room for on the shelf.

These guys rock. They are simply the friendliest, most pet lovin' people in the business. The story is cozy, but the service is top notch. The store cats kick butt too.

These guys are amazing! I'm new to the city, and I just adopted a cat from a shelter. These guys patiently walked me through everything I needed--without trying to push extras. The next time I came back, they remembered me, asked about the cat, and helped me find a food that she would eat with a cold (sure enough, she got sick as soon as she left the shelter). They even threw in some super smelly fish flakes on the house to try to entice her to eat. The store itself is tiny, but it kind of enhances the experience. These guys know what's good, they know what's the best deal for the money, and they're super friendly and full of good ideas and advice. And they love pets.

It's scary being a new puppy-mom. So when I came in here to buy my pup's first harness and new food, I was, as one can imagine, overwhelmed and nervous. There are so many brands, so many diets, so many things people say their dogs (especially puppies) should avoid... All that being said, these guys are great! They're really knowledgeable, and answered all my questions for high quality grain-free puppy chow, as well as durable yet edible chews for a vigorous chewer such as my pup. Leaving the store, I felt relief-- like I had made great choices for my pet based on their advice. And the cherry on top: their prices are super reasonable. If the food costs within a dollar of the price at Petco or Petsmart (as I found that day) why not patronize your local petstore?! I will definitely be returning!

I'm very happy to have this place in my area. Yes, its a small store, but unlike the giant commercial pet stores like Petco and Petsmart, The Pet Bar stocks Orijen dry cat food. This food is the best for my kitteh so I will continue to shop there. Also, their staff have always been nice.

Very helpful. Extensive supply of grain free foods. And they have just as much inventory for cats as they do dogs! Best place in NYC. I don't go anywhere else now.

This is my go to local pet store. Yes, it's small. Yes, sometimes they don't have exactly what I need. BUT, they have amazing customer service, they deliver, they're a small local business (you have to support that!), and they have the cutest resident cat that sometimes is sleeping on the computer keyboard by the cash register. Unfortunately my 90 lb. dog likes to try to chase the cat, but the cat is one cool customer and doesn't seem to care. If you live in Soho, I highly recommend you go here! I think they only carry dog and cat supplies, but I'm not 100% sure. For the size of the store, they do have a broad variety of brands and items for cats and dogs.

Pet Bar is a wonderful neighborhood pet store. Once I attempted to call them several times but my cell phone reception was terrible and couldn't get through. The young lady who works there actually texted me to see if I needed anything and I was able to place my order via text. I couldn't ask for a better service. I will always shop there over Petco.

This is really a functional boutique for your dog or cat. Every dog walking by this trendy (if you are a dog) Soho shop filled with specialty items is mesmerized.

When the Petsmart opened on Broadway, I was sure the Pet Bar was doomed. Fortunately, other people also appreciate friendly, personal service from a local store. Free delivery, too. Call them up, and they'll bring kitty litter to your door.

I just had the worst experience with the owner of this store. I purchased a cat feeder that is suppose to open with a timer since I would be leaving NY this coming weekend for my brother's wedding. I was hesitant to purchase it because it wasn't packaged in plastic within the box, like you would find on a new item. Considering that the wedding is soon approaching, I just figured I would go for it and asked if I would be able to return it if it didn't work. The owner assured me that I could. After placing a battery in it, the timer did not work. I attempted to bring it back yesterday, and was told the owner was away and only he could do the return in exchange for cash and not store credit. I said I would come back then. I came back again today and was told he wasn't in until later. They took my number and said they would call me when he was in. The regular employees there, I must say, were very nice. I received a call, stating he was in and they handed the phone over to the owner. From the beginning, he was aggressive. He then told me he would not give me my money back and only give me store credit because it has been past ten business days and then accused me of tampering/using the item. It has been about two weeks since I purchased the work, which is as long as it took for me to get a hold of batteries to see if it operated. Of course, I exploded at him because I was not told of this ten-day policy when I specifically had asked him if I could return it. He then told me I had claimed I was going to be coming right back in that day if the product didn't work, which I never said. Why would anyone tell a random store owner their schedule? I did, however, say I would test it to make sure it worked before I needed to go away. After some hostile exchange, in which I was consistently accused of using the product and trying to return it, I wavered and said I would accept the store credit. When I went in the bring the item back in shortly after this phone conversation, he opened the box, smelled the product, and started in again with accusing me of using the product. I suggested to him then that he probably sold it to me used. While on my way out, he said to a neighbor outside that people think "he is Macy's," suggesting again that I used the product and was then returning it. The product was broken, so I am not sure how anyone could use it if they wanted to.... Major a**hole. Beware.

serving the soho animal community is no easy task. these guys are the best--super friendly and helpful. sometimes i take advantage of their free delivery, but mostly I like to go in person. they carry the specialty diet food that keeps my cat looking so svelte. so happy to have them as part of the neighborhood!
