Boston Gay Sports Bar Cathedral Station Is Still Here | Eater Boston

"A small neighborhood park located across the street from the South End gay sports bar where a manager often hangs out with his rescue dog, Bates; it functions as a casual gathering spot where local conversations frequently touch on the nearby bar’s status." - Nathan Tavares

I’ve been taking my Husky puppy to Peters Park since he was 3.5 months old. It’s in South End on Washington St and it’s a medium sized fenced park (not a huge space for doggos to run and get tired but they can chase & run, fetch the ball and play). This park has water fountain for dogs, few cube sized stones for them to hop on and pose and 5 seating area for hoomans! This park gets lots of dogs b/w 7-8:30AM and 4:30-6:30 PM. DRS is separated into two spaces one for all dog sized (this has a larger space) and other exclusive for small sized puppies and dogs(the ones that could fit in a woman’s handbag lol)

This specifically is in regadd to the dog park. The small dog side is well kept up- most parents I encounter there are polite and dog savvy. The larger dog side often has dog fights break out and I've witnessed an incredibly large amount of dog owner disagreements too. This side frequently has many areas of dog waste that are not picked up.

My Grandchildren were visiting from Philadelphia, they LOVE THIS park... My 10 year old grandson can ALWAYS find a basketball game with the fellas (& ladies) older than himself which he LOVEs.

This is a very large park with many activities to partake in. I love how there are rows of benches near the basketball courts so people can sit and enjoy. Great place for tournaments. There's also a large tennis court, a mini dog park area, and a kids playground as well. Great place to take the kids or your pets to have fun

Peter's park is cute -- but it could be better. During the week it is mostly dog walkers (who are, thankfully, pretty responsible). Over the weekend, specifically a Sunday when I experienced this, there was a HORRID group of owners and their hyperactive, untrained, unsocialized frenchies for a frenchy meet up. They all huddled into the small dog section and their dogs were clearly miserable and reactive, attacking each other, and went after my dogs completely unprovoked. Call me a snob, but I stay far, far away from those "meet ups." It is a recipe for disaster. The gravel is terrible and is only friendly to giant dog paws, like labradors or bernards, etc. I wish it was finer gravel or dirt or fake turf like the ARL park. My dogs can't enjoy it because of the gravel alone and do a lot better at the ARL park. However, the rocks are really cool! They love those. :)

Great dog park with ample space considering it's in the middle of the city. There's a separate play area for smaller dogs. The surface is round gravel which is great; hygienic and not muddy but also soft on their paws. There's water and plenty of benching to sit. Wouldn't necessarily be worth a big journey to go here, but a really lovely park to have in the neighborhood.
