Good food and Friendly staff. Service was very slow, however. The cooked foods came to us piping hot and everything was delicious. The Mongolian beef is very good! I’m accustomed to raw sushi being very cold but mine when I got it was almost room temp. It was odd but nothing that would keep me from going back. Overall, I recommend giving Peter’s Sushi Spot a try.

First time here today and loved it! The outside looks underwhelming, but please go in! The decor is really nice and professionally done. Looks very upscale inside. We sat at the sushi bar and the waitress immediately brought waters and edemame. They have quite a lot to choose from on the menu, as well as sushi specials behind the bar. Kept it simple for our first visit. I had the Best Friend Roll ($14) and it was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend trying it. It is huge, stacked with crab meat, and I barely finished the 8pc. My wife had the crunch roll ($13). We both agreed it was one of the better crunch rolls we have had. I recommend sitting at the bar to watch! On top of everything, the staff was all very friendly. (I forgot to take pictures of the dishes themselves, but we will be back)

Amazing sushi! Everyone should try this place! Oysters were so fresh. And our waitress was great! This is our date night spot...

One of my favorite sushi spots in town. Friendly staff and great food everytime. Ordered Jalapeno Bombers and a Gangnam Style Roll, both delicious.

Had a great experience at Peter's Sushi Spot. Peter serves up a "torched" nigiri that was as excellent as the ones I had in Osaka, Japan. I love contrasting a seared piece of fish with it's raw counterpart. The veggie tempura I has was also top notch. Highly recommend this spot for your sushi cravings!

One of the few good places to go here in Anchorage. I've been going here for a while now, and I'm always satisfied on their sushi.

The sushi was good but the service wasn't. There were very few other customers in the restaurant but it took quite a while to get our food, and the waitress never came back around so we could ask to refill my husband's iced tea. My husband really enjoyed the 'spicy blossom' roll. I liked the 'hideaway'. We also ordered the kamikaze specifically because it was advertised as "very spicy" which my husband enjoys, however it was not spicy at all, even I could eat that roll and I can't do spicy food. They do have a lot of nice options for rolls though and I like the variety of tuna options. This is one of the more expensive sushi restaurants in town but they don't do the complimentary miso soup and small salad like other places do. The decor is really nice here though, love the lighting.

Yelp
Overall, my mom and sisters had a good time here. They put in our orders multiple times because the waiter came around twice with duplicate items which we didn't take. Dishes were decent portions for the price since Alaska dining is more expensive than most places. The area we sat in did not allow hotpot which was a bummer but we made do with our sushi options. Weekday evenings are pretty slow and there seems to be plenty of parking as well so we didn't struggle with that. No loud music playing in the back which is appreciated.

Yelp
Kind of low key and casual, the service is quick and the rolls excellent. We had Sun of the Beach, Surf and Turf and Mr Choice, of the three, Mr Choice was so good we ordered a second. Mr Choice contained salmon, crab and tempura shrimp. What caught our attention was the delightful crunch on the top, not certain what that was but it was good.

Yelp
I ordered this through DoorDash so I can't comment on any service I was provided. But the food was amazing. I had the gyoza. The crunch and the crazy devil roll. Omg. Delicious. The gyoza were perfect and I ate them first because I couldn't stop eating them. Then the crazy devil roll. Admittedly I saved some for my later flight. Still delicious. And the crunch was tasty and I shared with my bff because she doesn't do spicy too well. Yeah, I have THAT friend. I'm imagining the service is as good as the food.

Yelp
Thankful for the fresh, fast, and friendly food and service our party received. The sushi and ingredients in our kitchen prepared dishes and our sushi were of fresh quality and delicious! No complaints. Beautiful decor and spacious dining area. Plenty of seating for all group sizes or if you want to dine alone. I'd like to try out the shabu-shabu hot pot next!

Yelp
Very friendly staff that have always made sure we were happy. The special rolls are worth the money, they are large and filling and the ingredients just seem to be a higher quality than what we've come to expect at other places in Anchorage. This is where my son and I choose to go whenever it's just the two of us.

Yelp
I came by for a quick lunch while on a work trip. They offered complimentary miso soup and the edamame was very good - much better than the other edamame I have eaten while in Alaska. I got the Ninja roll which was fantastic. Most of the special rolls on the menu are some kind of California roll or spicy tuna roll with toppings, so not too much variety, but it was tasty. The service was quick and attentive, and I liked the seating area and the background music.

Yelp
Delicious sushi! Great service. Didn't have to wait. Highlights were the amazing sashimi, When Mango Met Salmon roll and Crazy Devil roll (spicy, but not "super spicy").

Yelp
Love this place! Have ordered on Door Dash app many times. Food always shows up hot and fresh, never had a bad experience. First time coming today for lunch, very clean, nice and new. Friendly staff. If you order online direct from their website you get 10% off for pickup. Have recommended this to many family and friends, and everyone who has tried it loves it!

Yelp
Food. Quality very good and well prepped. Service. Always kind and generous. Great vibes! Inside is very cute and decorative. A must try the Kung fu panda. It's enormous and tasty!

Yelp
I've been craving sushi for a week now and saw these guys on my FB thread for an advertisement... So my Son n I came here for a lunch date and it was superb! The server, Mr. Jennings was on point, very friendly and when asked for recommendations, he gave me the best new sushi roll... it was deliciousness . All of our food was fresh, delicious and made with love, you could taste it. Our server was outstanding!!! I truly recommend this sushi spot with good pricing, awesome service and amazing flavors !

Yelp
Checked out Sushi Motto on Christmas Day and tried the hot pot for the first time. The portions were huge and much larger than expected. With four people we did the large size per person and took home lots of leftovers as well. It was fun to cook everything right on the table and eat it fresh. Broth could use a little more flavor and service was pretty slow considering it wasn't very busy but it was still a great overall experience.

Yelp
Yummy sushi, and tasty miso soup! The food was really tasty. We just ordered takeout so I can't speak on the restaurants service but the food? *chefs kiss*

Yelp
Can't believe I am the first to review this fabulous new restaurant in Anchorage! Brought to us from the fine folks at Kumaguro downtown; I've been a big fan of that place for a few years. Walking into what was Peter's Sushi Spot, it has a lot of the same vibe but with added K-pop hits playing. Sitting at the bar, servers were attentive. Ordered the lunch Mongolian beef, lunch crunch roll add chili sauce, and the small shashimi mix plate. Would suggest more sashimi combo lunch options. The Mongolian beef was sweet and plentiful, just enough crispy and juicy, in perfect-sized bites, presented on a bed of crispy rice noodles, topped with green onions/scallions. Crunch roll had a delicate topping and I loved how the wasabi was light & aerated. Sashimi mix plate had cuts of salmon, tuna, and hamachi that tasted fresh and delicate. Check it out!

Yelp
The service was great and fast. We are able to make our out sukiyaki sauce at the sauce bar. The food was absolutely delicious and a great portion for the price. The Small hot pot option was $70 and came with all the meat and veggies in the photo as well as udon noodles. Hidden gem of Anchorage! 10/10

Yelp
We tried the shabu shabu for the first time and it was innovative with a rich broth and plenty of vegetables to simmer. Add in thinly rolled steak, noodles, and gyoza we had a healthy dinner that was plentiful. Our server Ben helped us with the sauce bar. Sushi roll and fried rice also a hit. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Located in a nonchalant strip mall this sushi spot is truly a "diamond in the rough." What makes this place exceptional is the quality of sushi rice they use. Rice was warm and artfully seasoned in the rolls we ordered as well as in the Chirashi bowl. Once you've had good sushi it's one of those things once you know the difference you can tell right away. Amount of fresh fish was more than reasonable for price and service was attentive. In a land where you juggle between value and quality in food choices, Sushi Motto hits the sweet spot.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time, after seeing an ad on instagram. It was absolutely wonderful. The food and the service exceed expectations.

Yelp
Excellent teriyaki chicken-- gyoza excellent as is the salad BUT THE MUSIC IS GOD AWFUL and rap genre inappropriate for Asian dining-- something quieter and appropriate would be a nice addition to the cuisine

Yelp
Sushi Motto: 2.3/5 TLDR: some places gotta do better. Be worth what you charge. The Good; rolls was a good portion, the toro was solid and the sashimi salad was plentiful. Cuts were fresh and thick- rice was solid. However this wasn't the star of the show- if I'm basing the entire visit on the sushi however we'd be at a 3.8- The Bad: at $110 for shabu Shabu I expected a plethora of traditional mix ins- instead we were met with one main protein- and overloaded on "fillers" (bok choy / cabbage) on top of the fact that we were given ONE LITTLE ASS BOWL of udon noodles. The broth didn't have much depth- it was straight dashi. I was so shocked that there was only one bowl of noodles offered that I asked the manager and the serve TWICE if they gave us the right size bowl to which they said that was indeed all you got. Everything else as far as an add on is well over $5. Even accounting the fact that we are in Alaska- if you walked 20 feet next door to Manila stop and shop you could buy your own noodles and sneak them in lol. The sauce bar needed diversity, and there was a huge lack of fresh mix ins in the bar. The servers were sweet but you can tell they need more help. Myself and a couple other tables tonight were constantly looking for assistance and getting anything else after our food was served was impossible. Considering it has been a few months since they've opened it's pretty disappointing. Just speaking from my personal experience; I will say there is a tendency for places to take advantage of patrons in Alaska whilst bringing "new to Alaska" type places. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt they are trying to do their best but just based on the lowest tier hot pot/shabu place out of state it just seems both sushi motto and the other shabu place here are just here to be here. I will be back for sushi, but the shabu shabu to me was a complete rip off. I've gone to countless shabu/hotpot places and this was by far the biggest food to price defecit I've ever seen.

Yelp
Excellent sushi boat-lots of variety, good choice of libations, and pleasant wait staff.

Yelp
2 guests for lunch. One server in the entire restaurant .. got my order wrong. Server was professional if a bit young. Miso soup was watered down with no green onions or tofu in either bowl. Ordered the golden knight roll and son of the beach roll. Golden knight had too much cream cheese and a strange flavor. The son of the beach was ok but had raw white onions on top which made the entire roll taste like raw yellow onion. Also ordered unagi hamachi toro and salmon pairs. Pairs were small in comparison to other restaurants. Salmon was ok. Unagi was ok. The hamachi and tuna were very fishy and didn't finish eating them. Disappointing. Wont be back. Lovely atmosphere if you don't really care about the food. Many more spots around town that are much more satisfying and delicious.

Yelp
The sushi was dry and without flavor. The ambiance was meh. The service was fine. I need a more interesting menu.
