"Venturing away from Detroit proper, this Pontiac institution was founded in 1929 by Pete Traicoff, who immigrated from Macedonia. The spot started off as a peanut stand that sold coffee, sandwiches, and hot peanuts and went on to enjoy wild popularity. This coney has changed locations several times over the decades. Pete’s grandson Tom eventually took over the Pontiac location, while his brother Ed Zull, opened Pete’s Coney Island II in Clarkston and Orion Township. This place has been here ever since I was a kid and it is a Pontiac Michigan Institution. Even through a pandemic, they are still operating and serving nothing but the best food to quench your lunch appetite. Try their navy bean and ham soup and also their gumbo soup. But you can't go wrong with a good old-fashioned Coney Dog with everything on it. In crazy times like we're having these last couple years, don't forget to support your restaurants and your service Industries. Without them America would be in a sad state of affairs.

I bring my cousin here when he has a Dr. appointment early in the day. He's a huge fan of Pete's! Not sure if they cater to vegetarians, else I would try them!

I got two chili cheese burgers and coke and a bag of chips I really enjoyed the food it took me back to my childhood. I found out that they are still under the same ownership family and will be celebrating 100 years.

Not too salty chilly, not too strong onion, not too greasy or salty dog, hint of refried bean?. Perfect tast for me. Buns gets little soggy couse they wrrap with wax papper for take out. I tried there burgger too.

Small building that is currently take out only. Staff is very quick and friendly. Food was delicious, one of the better Coney dogs in the area. It's definitely a must stop if you're looking for a quick delicious bite to eat.

Food is great and prices are reasonable. Fast and friendly service. Couldn't give five stars though because they no longer have dine-in. It is to-go only. What a disappointment.

I've never had the opportunity to taste your food, your doors are closed by the time I get off work, my question is how do you keep your doors open let alone your lights on, I represent a very large group of people that have never tested your food because you close your doors at 4:00 p.m.? Obviously this is only a hobby to you and not a livelihood!

The food here is incredible! The best burger and awesome onion rings! The place is small for dine in and I have not idea about how they handle covid. Take out is all I have ever done.

They have really good chili. There hotdogs are absolutely delicious and they have the best chicken gumbo on Tuesdays and Thursday's. Just wish the burgers taste the same.

I Love Love Love Pete's Coney Island I have been going to Pete's since I was a child for over 50 years. Wow! I moved to Illinois about four years ago, I miss their food so much. When I go back home to visit I will stop and eat at Pete's!

Don't expect no fries with your coney if you stop in! Do expect a great coney and some great burgers! You can also expect to be able to order your burger with the famous Pete's chili sauce on it. Which my friend is a good way to go if you're feeling greedy. My fave though is the loose burger

This place has been a family favorite by 3 generations. This is THE BEST PLACE TO GET A CONEY DOG! I would go here before anywhere else, the atmosphere is just perfect for this little place and the people are always so friendly. The chili cheese burger never disappoints either and have eaten sure there 3 times a week in some cases. Introduced my wife to this place and she loved it. I hope to see this place going for another 50 years!

Favorite coney island around. Very comparable to American Coney Island, if you're familiar with the Lafayette vs. American debate. Small place with only counter seating but usually no wait.

This is a top-notch coney, with food as good or better as the downtown Detroit favorites. Plus it's been there forever, your coney is served on wax paper, and the girls serving are super nice. If you're in the Pontiac area, be sure to stop. And take a quart of their great chili home with you.
