I've been buying Pete's for years! Since they've moved haven't been the same. I was told the family sold the business. The O.G sausage was so flavorful the hot sausage I would use for my gumbo and sandwiches. Guess I'm going to have to order Pattons online now.

We’ve been getting sausage from Pete since I was a baby, maybe even before I was born, now 36 years later and I’m getting it for me and my kids. I’ve since moved to Florida but I still get my Pete’s. Grateful I can order online and get it shipped to my house.

Sad day I'm having😭😭😡. Just went to buy some links for father's day, we all know you have to get them early. Pete's are closed on Jefferson Blvd. A developer bought the building according to the neighboring businesses I communicated with. Plz post if anyone has a new address for beloved Pete's Hot sausage 🌭.

We have only bought Pete's Hot Sausages for over 30 years!! It's not only the best, the recipe is still the same. We drive over 50 miles now to pick up our bags of sauages......it's worth the drive! Pete's has moved!! They now are on Central Blvd in Los Angeles right across the street from a boys catholic school. Their sausages are sold in a little market and their production is right next door to the market. I will write back with the address!! Verbum Dei is the name of the school. I drove down here all the way from Long Beach. There is a note on the door that says 'be back at 1:50' It is now 2:20 What a waste of my time. Completely unprofessional will never ever come back again and my family has been coming here for years. GET IT TOGETHER!

I came here back in 2016, it was the best Hot links ever, but my recent experience wasn't so good, I mean the food was good and the links were good, but they weren't great like last time. I was told the owner changed and everything, either way the links aren't as hot as they used to be and the old recipe was way better than this new one. The staff were very friendly and outgoing and made sure to explain everything too us, we loved the environment and the staff, the only thing was the links they weren't as hot as they should be and they old recipe was way better. Yes, Just like I remember them form years ago. A Creole cuisine staple. If you have a fix for some amazing creole sausage you have to check this place out and take home a few lbs of each flavor. I had to get them all, great flavor and man when they are smoked on the grill it's the best. The chicken Andouille was fire, the bayou blend yeah buddy and you can't leave without the classics. They got the OG's in extra Hot-Mild. Get a little crazy wrap them in bacon, layer them with sauce and a few smoked Santa Fe Chilies and let the flavor bomb explode in your hot dog bun, red beans,chili,Stuffing, gumbo or crab boil. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to get some more

Came here for some of their famous hot links and they only had one type left. I don't 100% remember which one it was but we got a couple pounds of it. The man who took our order was very friendly and helpful. The links themselves were packed with flavor but the consistency of the inside was almost mushy. Didn't have much bite to it (we made sure to cook it for a long time) and was more of a cornmealy texture than the sausage bite we're used to. I ended up opening up the sausage and cooking the inside straight on a pan to get it as crispy as possible, which wasn't so bad! I'll probably come back to try different types - hopefully the texture is better because I want to try their andouille in my jambalaya!

The only way to make Gumbo's with Petes Hot Links and jambalaya as well The best of the best I live in the inland empire but drive all the way to Pete's to get links for gumbo jambalaya or grill .

I have been eating Pete's Louisiana hot links since the 1970s. My daughter and I went a week ago to get some cuz we live in San Fernando Valley and we go down there to get them. When we got back and we cook some it is not the same the quality is different they don't taste the same since this pandemic I find a lot of places have downgraded their quality. I will not be going back there until the pandemic is over because the ones that we ordered are not of the same quality they taste different they look different. I'm very disappointed

Arrived at this location after taking a long drive to get here only to find out that they closed early. There was a man locking up and he asked that I turn around and leave the lot because they were closed. Very disappointed

My family and their friends have been living in Los Angeles over 75 years, having moved from Louisiana. Every special Sunday dinner, holiday and celebration in my life & community has included Pete's Louisiana Style Hot Links. My great grandmother use to get it from the man who taught Pete! We buy and take these links with us whenever/wherever we are making Gumbo, Jambalaya & Christmas Spaghetti. It is a food staple for our community at large. I know over the years it has changed ownership. And the recipe has been modified unfortunately. But the taste hasn't changed too much, UNTIL I tasted the sausage before I made my Christmas spaghetti this morning. There was no flavor, just heat. The links are riddled with chili flakes and seeds making it almost impossible to eat. Whatever has happened to the recipe...please change it back! This was awful and not synonymous with the "Pete's" name. We need the old recipe back!! That was five stars!!

I just learned today that Pete's Louisiana is not on Jefferson anymore. They have relocated to Turner's Poultry Market 11123 S. Central Ave. L.A.

Now this is a sausage company that specializes in homemade Cajun style sausages. They're only open a few hours of the day so I suggest if you're interested in picking up some freshly made sausages, that you set your alarm clocks early. They make the sausages fresh everyday. Once they run out they run out! I drove over three and a half hours to make sure I brought some of these sausages home. Today I purchased four of the beef sausage links and four chicken links. I must say the spices that they use in the meat is very strong. I always try and double bag the meat in a ziplock bag when bringing it home or else your whole car will smell like garlic onion and spices. Overall this place can do no wrong. This would be my third time getting sausage is here in LA and it is my regular stop before I leave.

My grandma been using Pete's sausage for her gumbo and dishes for YEARS!! We don't use anything else!! This is worth it, but extra to keep in the freezer you will be so happy later!!

If you like hot links, you must try this place. Little spot where you walk up to a window order. The kitchen, which you will see from the window is spotless. Handmade links with a wonderful flavor all its own. We got the beef and chicken links in mild and hot. So far we've had a couple of the mild links and they're really good and rich. Tip: They're located next to the Ice House. If you're buying links for a BBQ, might as well pick up some ice!

Just bought some links to add to my gumbo. All of the comments about the taste is true. Grew up eating these but my grandfather made them; straight out of Nola. Once he passed then everyone began buying links from Pete's. They do taste different from years pass. Not the original owners that's for sure.

I was introduced to Pete's Louisiana Links at a friend's dinner. They tasted very good and I decided to get some for our family. After checking with their website to see what they have to offer, I emailed Pete's Food Products Inc. with my order. The order consisted of: Beef Louisiana Links Hot, 5 lbs. Beef Louisiana Links Mild, 5 lbs. Beef Louisiana Links Extra Hot, 5 lbs. On April 16, 2015, I drove down to their plant to pick up my order. I noticed on their board they also offered Chicken Louisiana Links Mild. The manager informed me that the chicken links would take another hour to finish. I decided to wait in their lounge. I purchased Chicken Louisiana Links Mild, 5 lbs. All sausages were freshly made. In the evening, we tried a little bit of everything I bought. We grilled them on the BBQ. They tasted awesome and delicious. I am glad I made this purchase. For whatever was left, I packaged everything to go to the freezer. The staff was very cordial and helpful, especially Megan, the Office Manager. A few pointers: 1. They sell out of everything very early. In order to ensure availability, email them with your order a day or two in advance. 2. The area is safe in the daytime. However, I would not venture there at night. Results are unpredictable. You can park in the back and someone will help you. 3. To ensure freshness, I strongly advise that you bring a cooler with ice. On a hot day, meat products, can easily spoil. 4. They accept credit/debit card payment. I paid with cash and cash is always King. Hands down, a five stars is awarded to Pete's Food Products Inc.

I moved into the area several years ago. This is one of the best Hot Links place in the entire country. I constantly see BBQ joints all over Southern California buy hundreds of pounds of links from this place. I have tried all of their links (my favorites are the Hot Beef and Chicken Jalapeño) and I have not had a bad one at all. I have cooked them in the smoker, on my charcoal and gas grills. I have even cooked them in the oven. Very delicious. They are so fresh that they won't last long in the fridge. You either have to cook it almost immediately or freeze them.

I've enjoyed these "Beef" links for many years I was really taken by surprise to learn that casing is made from PORK, I'm pretty sure it was a questioned I asked years about was told no pork?!, needless to say I won't be consuming their products any longer I'm very disappointed by this?!, never understood why the meats are mixed with so many of us who don't consume pork products

These are the best NOLA hot links you will ever have!! I fell in love with these years ago and would always ask for a five pound bag when someone was coming into town from the hood. I also had them when they changed owners and tasted like a watered down version, but they are back to original now. Less than $4 a pound for all that flavor is a bargain in my book. I've had Patton's and Pete's makes them seem like hilshire farms. Be prepared to burp these up for a couple hours later as well. My friends get jealous when I do because they know what I ate. lol

I've had these for over 40yrs! My family comes from out of town looking to by these and take home. Now they can order online...yippee!

Not the same. The recipe has definitely changed, the texture was extremely "MUSHY" from last years visit. We traveled from Pasadena Ca to Los Angeles for the memories of our "last" purchase. I'm in search of a new place

Petes had some of the best sausages in the world, but for some strange reason they decided to add a bunch of cereal to the recipe. i grew up eating this sausage fifty years ago, so I know the difference. Please guys, I know you want to get more bang for your buck, but please ease up on all the fillers, and bring back the original recipe.

Before being introduced to Pete's sausages, I wasn't a huge fan of sausages due to consistency and that random pop of gristle. The small batches are so consistently better than any other sausage I have had. These are a staple for every camp trip I go on and have become a huge tradition in my family. It's worth the drive!

With one notable difference, this is the traditional, New Orleans-style "chaurice" AKA "hot sausage" that is indispensable for making Creole-style gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans and rice. In New Orleans this sausage is made with pork, while Pete's is a beef link (which I prefer anyway). My family has been patronizing Pete's for almost SEVENTY YEARS, since relocating to Los Angeles after WWII in the mid-1940's. The stretch of Jefferson where Pete's is located was an area that was once populated by many Louisiana Creoles of Color, who came to Los Angeles for defense jobs during the second Great Migration from the South. In those days, the Red Line street car had tracks down Jefferson; and that neighborhood was the "Westside". There were lots of little Creole markets in Los Angeles. Much like the Latino markets that are everywhere in the city today, there were once Creole markets that sold house-made sausages and special cuts of meat for preparing traditional Louisiana fare: veal "7-steaks" and grillades for "pané meat" and "grillades and grits". Pete's Louisiana Hot Links is the only place in Los Angeles where you can purchase authentic, Creole Chaurice Sausage for Creole Gumbo. These sausages are also great for grilling. Traditionally, the red color is from the paprika. These sausages are slightly spicy. True Louisiana food is NOT burn-your-face-spicy, but just highly seasoned.

Best links I've ever had. So good that I've taken them to New York and Hawaii! Once frozen they transport well and are just as good on the grill.

Sadly, I didnt enjoy these sausages at all. Less tastier than even the italian sausage they sell at Ralphs. The sausage meat is strangely soft and not chewy. It has a strange texture to say the least. Also the hot beef links tasted very artificial to me and grainy. I tried various cooking methods including steaming, grilling, and baking.

$1/link Ordered the spicy and regular heat sausages. I preferred the spicy, but still feel like there has to be something better out there

My family's been coming here for over 20 years. We usually get a 5lbs bag of extra hot beef links and a 5lbs of normal hot beef links. The extra hot you usually have to order a day ahead. Just call in and leave a message on machine. They never answer but will call you back. These are the only sausage we use for our gumbo that we make twice a year. They also taste bomb wrapped up in a slice of bread. #fire.

So you know it takes a lot for me to be happy, but Pete's has the best service, best product hands down. I go by and pick up the beef links, chicken links and you must try the BBQ sauce. A lot of local restaurants use there products; and you thought it was the seasoning. Nope it's Pete's sausages.

I was a tad underwhelmed by the sausages here. I built it up too long on my head and in the end they just tasted average. I had the hot beef and the pork links. By the time I arrived at the store there wasn't much left in the way of selection. I really wanted to try some of their other links like Bayou blend, and Jalapeño, and habanero. Some sadly you have to buy in bulk as special order and the others it appeared they were just out. Staff member was a bit cold but cordial. Took a while to be attended to. He was in the back so who can blame him. I had emailed the store the night before and they were super responsive. I'd love to try them again.

So, my best friend of decades is partly a Broussard, of the Louisiana / New Orleans Creole Broussards. The ones who have a restaurant and a cookbook that is simply named "Broussard" and who have basically secured the legacy of what is now Louisiana. Whew....all this to say that I know people who come from people who have made gumbo what it is today. I'm putting my gumbo credentials on the line here (as much of gumbo credentials as a Russian chick can claim to have, anyway :) Now, a little birdie (my best friend) revealed to me a long time ago that her pops gets some of his gumbo fixings here. Also, he orders some online and I'm not sure which is which and I never really asked him because he likes to do that awesome closed mouth smirk when you try to get a recipe out of him. My only way to replicate a gumbo I have at his house is to ask for seconds. No problem. Years after hearing about it, and knowing my husband was about to fire up the pot to get some roux going, I headed out to Pete's to get andouille and links and other gumbo goodness. Now, when Yelpers like to throw such words as "hole in the wall" around, most of them have no idea what they're talking about. I suggest they make their way to Pete's. It's a small building with few windows and one door hole that opens up into a wall. You have about two feet where you're standing with your nose pressed to the glass where you have to order. The prices are fairly low but unfortunately so is their inventory. I was there on a Friday early afternoon, I think, and I must have come in after some insanely large orders because they were out of a LOT of things. Most importantly, they were out of andouille and couldn't really give me a clear answer as to how I could figure out when they would have more in stock. They told me to just pop in and maybe they'll have it. Ehhhhh, not sure how that would work for me since they're not hyper close. And, unfortunately, they're not fond of picking up the phone regularly, so this is an annoyance. So, I picked up some beef and chicken links and made my way back home. These were DELICIOUS. They were very aggressively seasoned but that was great because they became the backbone of our pot of Creole stew. The punchy flavor spread through all the tasty stock and getting a bite of the sausage on a spoon was like a little fiery explosion. The snap of the natural casings and freshness of the filling was very yummy. In all, this is a great spot to pick up a little Louisiana flavor in Los Angeles. I think I may try emailing them next time to see if they actually smoke their andouille and if they can give me some heads up when I could try some. But if you're making some southern delights and need some fresh links and not necessarily strictly andouille, get your ass in here!

I was introduced to Pete's over 20 years ago by a fraternity brother of mine. Every time his mom and extended family had a BBQ they would always have Pete's links on the grill. Anytime his mom made gumbo, Pete's links were in the mix. I've tried other links and there's some good ones out there, but I keep coming back to Pete's. I love the beef and chicken links respectively. I'm desperately trying to get my hands on the Bayou Blend link but it is ALWAYS SOLD OUT!!! If you are looking for an authentic, freshly made Louisiana hot link, Pete's Louisiana Links is the way to go!

This is THE BEST sausage and authentic. As far as the poor review from one reviewer, she didn't even TASTE the sausage. i'm kind of glad she didn't get any service with her snobby comment about driving to the ghetto. Let her eat cake! It's a hole in the wall, run by 1 or 2 people when they are able so maybe something urgent happened??? But people of her high caliber wouldn't understand such human frailty would they. Pete's is old school and down to earth and SUPERB if you know your "green onion style" sausage. Sid of Sid's Cafe, the BEST CREOLE FOOD EVER IN LOS ANGELES is long gone, but that's what Pete's reminds me of. And if you think we live in the ghetto, PLEASE don't bother coming.

Wowweee! It's been a while since I've been to Pete's but there are simply some things you should never deviate from; Pete's is one of them. I am planning my annual gumbo gathering, although I missed last year :( , and I took the trip to Pete's after calling about the recorded hours open..Saturday was open until 3pm.... Lucky me, it was one o'clock so I head out. Anyway, I'm driving and am saying prayers on the way that they are in fact open since it has been a while since my last visit. But as I drove up, it was clear that they were. No, there was no line (as I am used to dealing with), but the door was wide open as if to say "Welcome!" I walk up to the window and look in and it's the same as I remember for all the years I have patronized Pete's...clean as a whistle inside and only a staffer to assist; Pete is not there as I have seen in times past but that didn't change one thing in the products. Clearly his recipe is one for the books. Once I eyed the menu to check prices ($3.72 per pd for chix or beef, $3.84 for pork sausage), I rang the bell and the butcher approached. "Please say you have a couple pounds of the chicken hot links, and well, 1 pound of the beef ?" (I figure what the heck, I only come here once a year...might as well try the beef in another dish later). The nice guy says, "Yes, we do. I will be right back." I am doing a happy dance in my mind and saying "woo hoo" because I know my gumbo is gonna be off the chain!!!! He tells me the total price.. "$12 and change" I happily hand him $15 and get my change back and skip merrily to the car and head back to the South Bay. Oh, the aroma of freshly made Pete's chicken sausage... I cannot tell you how intoxicating-ly good it is. Look, all I'm sayin' is Pete's ain't popular for his meat for nuthin'...his location has been the same for numerous years, his place is clean, his prices are great and his sausage is the bomb. I have made the mistake of using other sausage in my gumbo a time or two and while it was still good, there is no other sausage that flavors my gumbo like Pete's does. I will not deviate again. I have learned my lesson...

Pete will ruin ya for any other links in the city and all parts east. The decision is real easy,... beef or chicken, mild, medium or hot. And BBQ sauce. That's it. Want anything else, go somewhere else 'cuz they don't have it here. Links are raw - just simmer for 20 min then saute till crispy - or grill as ya like 'um. Worth the trip from anywhere. Don't let the 'hood intimidate 'ya - just run in & run out. The best there is, bar none.

This is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. I first had a Pete's Hot Link at Spring Street BBQ in China Town. I did not think they would tell me where they got their hot links but they did. So I went and purchased the hot links myself in bulk and smoked them in my smoker. The hot links turned out exactly like they do at SSBBQ. They even make an in house spicier one that was a little too hot for my friends, but I loved it. I will be a customer for life. Make sure to punch holes in the sausage before smoking or cooking. The juices that come out of the hot links need to be freed before cutting into them and having them explode all over you.

Alrighty then! These Louisiana sausages are THE BOMB! Sausages are about $4 a pound, you get around 3 or 4 HUGE links, but it's so worth it. I was kinda thrown off by the establishment, you walk into a screen door and a counter hits you right at the abdomen. Tell a guy in the back what you want and he goes into the freezer and grabs it...it's that simple! I put these babies (chicken ones) under my broiler, then add some bar-b-que sauce and mustard...unbelievable! Can't wait to have these on the grill, though!

Pete's links are legendary! I grew up eating them. Nothing compares to their deliciousness. The guys who work there haven't changed a bit. Still friendly and patient, but keep it moving. Easy to take for granted when they're right down the street, but when you're not so close...? My uncle relocated to North Carolina and asked me to send him Pete's links. That's some love when you're willing to wave good bye to some hot links!

Very disappointed... I drove from La Crescenta, putting all my faith in the Yelp reviews. Unfortunetly, I can't review based on the sausages themselves. I got here at 2:30, and found Pete's closed. I called before heading over and got a machine stating the business hours , which stated that they're open 9-4 Mon-Sun. When I arrived I saw a giant sign that said "OPEN SUNDAYS" right over the security gate/front door, with a small closed sign right next to it. I can understand if there is some change in business hours, but come on! You can at least change your answering machine, so that people dont drive over an hour just to be locked out with no sausage in the middle of the ghetto.

Wow...This place make really good links with great flavor...I ordered the beef and chicken. Hit the grill and Bamm everyone who had one was asking where I had bought them from.....Plenty of parking on the street....as you walk in the window to order was right there in your face...Will go back again and again....

Been enjoying these my entire life. Every time a relative comes out to visit or I go to LA I get a bag. Smoked some last night and they came out great. I've prepared them many different ways and they are always amazing. Truly can't find any other link like them.

I love that you can get locally made sausage in the heart of Los Angeles. I've been stuck on Money Savers for years so I wanted to try something new. I pass here all the time and its pretty inconspicuous. But that clean ass kitchen tho. Can't wait to put these babies in my crawfish boil.
