Loved the laid-back vibe here. The place wasn’t crowded, which made it super relaxing — just what I needed. Great beer, chill ambiance, and no rush. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to enjoy your drink in peace, this one’s a gem.

The bathrooms are gross. I went to Pete’s a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and someone had thrown up all over the bathroom… next time I went a few weeks later, it looked like it was not cleaned up yet. Right after they opened around 6pm, the restroom had odd stains and gunk stuck to the walls, no toilet paper, and long hairs stuck to the sink. The beer on tap isn’t very cold and something seems off about the carbonation. The bartender was friendly but sat at the bar looking at his phone most of the time. I was thinking of getting something different since my first beer didn’t taste right, but he gave me another of the same beer as soon as I finished my first, without even asking me if I wanted another or if I wanted the same. I have given this place a few chances but they have not impressed me yet. Lizards down the street is a much better and cleaner spot with great service. Pete’s needs a visit from John Taffer ASAP.

One of the best bars on the North side of Chicago. The staff is amazing and atmosphere is always top notch. Whether it's Mikey, Jessie, Kevin, or Brock... you will always have a great time.

It really sucks when you have a FAVORITE bar, but one bartender can ruin your appreciation of the bar! I am a regular at Pete's Place, and I know every bartender. But tonight, one bartender in particular ruined how I felt about this place. He was on his phone. The customers almost had to scream to get his attention! And when he wasn't on his phone, his attention was only towards his favorite people! I had ONE drink and left to go to Lizards because I can NOT be in Pete's Place when that bartender is working! So disappointing!

We love Pete’s Place!!! It was my mom’s birthday a week ago and we took her there for some after-dinner drinks. Michael was so attentive, kind, funny and helpful! We were all so impressed by his incredible work ethic and genuinely caring demeanor. Pete’s Place is a local gem in our neighborhood of Irving Park, and they deserve to get tons of love and support! Definitely one of the best local bars I’ve ever been to in Chicago. (Also, we can’t stop saying “Don’t be a Malaka!”😂💕 )

A decedent experience of local personalities. Each bartender is more charming than the next. The owner is such a stand-up guy, I doubt he is ever caught laying down. 10$ pizzas are a happy addition.

Excellent local (and destination) bar. Exceptional hospitality makes for a welcome feeling whenever you walk in. In short, a strong sense of community, which begins with the ownership, extends through the management and staff, all the way to any customers, all of whom are friendly.

Best dive bar on the northside. Amazing service, games, and atmosphere! A can't miss!

This neighborhood bar has quickly become one of my favorites in the city. It has a great vibe, plenty of options for drinks and the pizza is fantastic. If you're looking for a bar to watch a game, Pete's has plenty of tv's and the staff is very accomodating. The service rocks - every bartender I've had makes you feel right at home and they're always friendly. You know it's a great bar when the crowd is diverse and everyone seems to be having a good time. They have darts, touch tunes, a nice side patio for the summer and they are located across the street from Hoerner Park in case you're looking for a drink after a day in the park. I love this place and highly recommend anyone stop in if you're in the neighborhood. Ask for Michael, he's the man!

Awesome bar and attentive bartending, I wish my softball team all lived closer so they could sponsor us! But I'll give them all the advertising with all the hats I've bought over the years. Nice dark lighting, great merch

I hear the pizza is fantastic but I've only stopped in for cocktails. Super nice local neighborhood bar. Fast friendly service from Michael. Lively joint seems like it's always got something going on.

Service was great, patrons were friendly, but unfortunately, had signs that not everyone was safe or welcome there. The jukebox has reggaeton and other music in Spanish blocked, including ALL of bad bunny. And, there's a thin blue line flag hanging from the ceiling. Unfortunate cuz would otherwise be a great neighborhood spot.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Pete's place is steeped in rich family history. It may look like the new kid on the block, but's it's reclaiming its place as the spot to play darts, Mrs. PacMan, and to have a delicious cocktail. They have lots of craft beers ready to serve your summer, but they'll make any cocktail your heart desires. I loved the 90s music playing and was excited to eat Burger King after my night out.

Came for my first visit to celebrate a good friend's bday. I enjoyed myself and I would return. Good street parking on side street. The bar itself had ample space and was clean. Pete and team were warm, welcoming and accommodating! Solid craft beers be they on tap, bottle or can. Drink specials are offered. Only thing holding up the fifth star was the very cozy mens room... the lock on the door locked but the door didn't lock, the water coming out the sink was more a trickle/had no pressure despite how much you turned on the cold/hot water, the hand dryer barely worked (no patience to stand there for the extra time while I'm drinking and other guys are waiting) and there were no paper towels to dry hands. All of which can be addressed and make this a 5-star location. Yes, I know, a guy writing a review about washing his hands = shocking; but, we do exist. I now have a solid place to visit when I am in the area or to suggest for a gathering. I hope to see my recommended mens room improvements during my next visit! Thanks Pete and team!

Great neighborhood bar. The bartender (Reece) and the owner (Pete) are friendly, welcoming and kind. Great bar, bar games and atmosphere. Definitely the "at home" neighborhood bar that you know you have been looking for.

Love this bar! Great staff, affordable drinks, and a good vibe. Its a classic Chicago Tavern - the bar has changed ownership, but been a local pub for generations. Pete, the owner, is an awesome guy and he and his staff do an excellent job. I even hosted my birthday party here, and he helped coordinate both a "Special Drink" for the night and a karaoke lead that night. As bars open up again in Chicago and we get vaccinated, I can't wait to come back.

I went to this bar a week ago just as a random stop heading home one night. The drinks were affordable and good. The main reason I enjoyed this bar was because the bartender Michael was extremely welcoming and even took the time to come outside where we were sitting and introduce himself personally. We will definitely be back

This place is awesome. Pete is really great, introduced himself to the bar. Really awesome kind people that get to know you. Nahba was our bartender, he treated us extremely well and took care of us! Really great place, strongly recommend to all!

Pete (owner) is an exceptional guy as well as Kristine and Daniel (weekend bartenders) if your looking to unwind after long work week or drown out some sorrows:) This place, like the staff is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended! Anndd karaoke is back!!

Awesome bar neighborhood ! Pete the owner and Nahba the bartender are super friendly! They always welcome our kickball team after our games and have great drink prices! Pete came to one of our first games and gave us free drink business cards. Pete's even offered to sponsor us next year in our league at Revere Park. If you and your friends like playing sports at Revere Park I suggest you hit up Pete's afterwards for a fun time!

Amazing, attentive owner and bartenders. An excellent neighborhood bar with good drink selections, dart boards, and plenty of tvs. Super clean and great space.
