DELICIOUS VEGAN FOOD! Need I say more? This quaint little restaurant serves up some delicious, filling meals! Even my non vegan boyfriend loved it! The portions were so big! I loved my penne pasta dish! And the brownie was enough for four it was so dense, decadent and sweet! I would recommend this place vegan or not!

Google
The best vegan restaurant we've been to. A simple and small place on East Broadway.. Everything was precise, fresh, and special. A unique variety of dishes with wich flavors. The service was excellent, the restaurant wad clean and tidy. Highly recommend even to those who are not necessarily vegan.

This is my first time to a vegan restaurant and wow the dishes were soo yummy. I started with a almond milk cappuccino and it was on point. The enchilada was so tasty and made me fee like i have to go back for that dish again. The indoor seating and ambiance os perfect.

Google
I am not vegan, but I went to brunch here with my sister and friends who are mostly vegan. I had breakfast burrito and it was delicious! I also had a vodka and watermelon cocktail (can’t remember the name) that was very refreshing! If all vegan food tasted that good, I’d strongly consider becoming vegan! Our waitress was also on top of things and very attentive despite the place being quite busy.

Google
This place has a delicious vegan menu and the coconut chicken sandwitch is sooo good! I ordered the falafel and it was soo yummy! The feel in this resteraunt is cozy and romantic. I will go again :)

Google
This is one of my fav vegan spots. My fav dish is mushroom galore tacos with the italian salad. I love it love it love it. Such a cozy special place that feed you with kindness and wellness. Everytime i go there its a upscale food presentation with a warm welcoming atmosphere. Cheers to wellness, food that not only taste good but is also healing.

Google
A cool LES brunch spot that is cash only. The crowd is hip and sexy but the food is the star. Enjoy the Mediterranean style dishes and craft cocktails at Cafe Petisco.

Google
Great location for a weekend brunch. Unlike most locations in the city this restaurant is cash only so don’t forget your wallet. If you order a Bloody Mary is half a meal right there. It comes with grilled cheese sandwiches and olives and only for $7. Recommended dishes are the Malawah Combo ($15), the Jerusalem Nested Egg ($14) and the Schnitzel ($15).

Yelp
Petisco became Petisco Vegano prior to the pandemic. Unfortunately this place has been permanently closed for a few years already. They are sorely missed...

Ashley Z.

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent service, romantic vibe. Their enchilada casserole is 10/10, must try! Pass on the strawberry shortcake. They serve delicious complimentary bread at the beginning of the meal. Plenty of gluten free options.

Moshe H.

Yelp
They recently turned 100% vegan so this is already a good reason to give them 5 stars!! And then, their food is another reason! We had 3 plates that we shared: The muffuletta panini, with delicious artichoke and eggplant- yum!! the soup of the day, that was thick and full of vegetables - amazing! And the highlight of the meal - the Laffa Shawarma, which was perfect in the combination of flavors and I can't stop thinking about it! They have s brunch menu that I want to go back and try!

Savannah W.

Yelp
This is my third time visiting petisco vegano and it never fails I've gotten the Schwarma laffa everytime just because I liked it so much. The only thing is it's extremely hefty and filling due to all the soy protein and curls on the inside it leaves me feeling a bit heavy. However, I went in today for their brunch/breakfast menu and opted for the malawach and oh boy, it was AMAZING. The filo dough was perfect as usual but the fried "egg" on top was extremely realistic and super tasty! The only difference was that It was a bit chewier than normal fried eggs. The tomato sauce(shakshuka), zaatar, and the creamy white& orange sauces on top really tied the whole dish together. I left feeling full and comfortable. I highly recommend checking out the malawach !! It had great middleeastern flavors. You won't regret it

Frances G.

Yelp
Grand Opening of a great vegan restaurant in the LES! Things we had off their menu were all delicious Mushroom tacos Check pea flour omelette Shawarma Laffa I paired my dishes with a Sauvignon white wine from New Zealand.

Yelp
MY FAVORITE Vegan Restaurant of all time!!! I have brought family and friends and celebrated Birthdays and the like here. Why is it my favorite? The staff was ALWAYS spot on, helpful, and friendly. The Food was ALWAYS consistently delicious - from apps to dessert and cocktails - there was never EVER a miss at all. The absolute best!!!

Lauren D.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot with delicious food! I normally don't go to Vegan restaurants but I've been wanting to eat here because of its beautiful outdoor area. Not only is the food delicious with so many hearty and filling options, the people that work here are so lovely and accommodating. Working in the restaurant business can't be easy, especially during a pandemic, but these guys/gals go out of their way to put their guests first!

Paulina L.

Yelp
Everything from Petisco Vegano is amazing. I had the breakfast sandwich with Mushroom bacon & Half order of sweet potato fries and salad to go. It was delicious and filling. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu! I'm so glad this place transitioned to an all vegan menu This sandwich comes with avocado but I took it out hehe

Dom R.

Yelp
Everything from Petisco Vegano is delicious. I'm planning on trying everything from the menu. My favorite is currently the Hangover Part II brunch plate. It comes with 3 pancakes, scrambled vegan eggs, 3 flavorful soy sausage links, and assorted fruits! Their Breakfast Sandwitche is also extremely tasty and comes with a choice of fries or salad! Besides the great food, Petisco Vegano also has amazing service. I have ordered delivery a lot during the quarantine, and they are always the fastest to deliver!

Mirjam G.

Yelp
Cozy place - delicious food and so many options! A true gem in Chinatown! I can't wait to be back and try more.

Anya L.

Yelp
This is my favorite place in NYC. This food is so delicious, the stuff is always welcoming and nice. I come here all the time with my vegan and not vegan friends. MUST VISIT place.

Bryan M.

Yelp
I've been Practicing a vegan lifestyle over four years now and in the beginning it was very hard to find good vegan food. Thankfully, Petisco is reinventing delicious vegan food and bringing it to the new up-and-coming part of the lower East side. Whether or not you're a vegan you will absolutely love the dishes here, lotsa flavor, lotsa love. It takes me 20 minutes to walk here and it's worth every step!

Sophie F.

Yelp
Don't go there. The food is overpriced, the ingredients aren't from a high quality and the service is bad. I got sick 30min after I ate it and beeped throwing up everything for the rest of the day.

Cindy T.

Yelp
I'm surprised more people don't know about this INCREDIBLE vegan restaurant. One of my top 3 vegan restaurants in the city. Located in LES near Jajaja, Petisco Vegano is (I think) a newly veganized establishment. The inside reminds me of a cafe in Paris or Lisbon - neat, subtlety yet artfully decorated, and very cozy. Service is nice and helpful, but bit slow when it gets busy. I went when it first opened so it wasn't too crowded, but may be smart to make a reservation during busy brunch and dinner hours. The prices are very reasonable (~$15-20 per dinner entree) for the quality and quantity you get. My friend and I shared the flatbread app, which is fresh, fluffy, and flavorful even without the dip. My friend got the enchilada lasagna while I got the laffa shawarma as an entree. Both were fantastic but the shawarma definitely wins! All of the reviews raving about it are spot on. Flavorful, juicy soy protein wrapped in flaky dough makes for a very hearty wrap, so you COULD share, but you might not necessarily WANT to... Petsico Vegano also carries some amazing sounding desserts and a weekend brunch menu. I'll definitely be back to try those. :D

Cierra M.

Yelp
This vegan place is the spot! it is very cute and the food was amazing. my non-vegan mom really enjoyed it too. definitely recommend and not too pricey, kinda average. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was the cheesecake compared to the other vegan cheesecakes i've had in the past but it still wasn't too bad!

Dave D.

Yelp
Flat out five stars. Had the Veggie enchilada lasagna- it was beyond amazing. Service is as good as its original version and this time they accept credit cards...win, win, win. By the way, wifey got mushroom tacos and she can't stop talking about them either. @DivesAndDrinks

Jolette C.

Yelp
What a beautiful stumble! Working today in the lower east side and came across this vegan restaurant on yelp! I had the enchilada, the soup of the day and the mac and cheese to go! The flavors, the portions and the service were great! When I got home to try the mac and cheese it did not disappoint! Recently vegan and while I enjoy cooking its such a pleasure to come across a delicious vegan restaurant

Courtney C.

Yelp
Delicious! Went here for brunch with my boyfriend. Had the malawach and everyone should try this!!!!! It is delicious. Flavorful. Familiar tasting although I have never ever had malawach. I got a very sad photo of it while halfway through eating it-sorry about that. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito and it was soooo good. Definitely check this place out!!!!

Juan R.

Yelp
This place is very tasty. The starter bread and chutney was delicious. My wife had the enchiladas casserole. We are both from Southern California and can attest to it being that style. Very good. I had the Beyond burger. It was really juicy with sweet potato fries. Dessert was the halva which was a delight. We used to be regulars here when this place was not vegan. It was a tough transition but the chefs really got good at cooking this food too . Definitely recommend

Yelp
I came here with a group of 6 at 6:30 on a Friday night. It was empty when we arrived but was pretty full by the time we left. Decor: So cute and cozy with lots of plants and wood details. On the dimly lit side with lots of candles burning to add to the cozy vibe. Drinks: There were so many yummy sounding drink options. I ended up going with the Heatah, which features jalapeño, aperol, tequila and (I think) grapefruit. My friend tried the cocolada and she loved it - it was full of coconut flakes! Food: After 5:00, they provide delicious freshly baked flat bread and a few dips to go with it. Another friend can't have gluten so they brought her some gluten-free toast. Very nice!! I decided to order the enchilada casserole and wow! This was so delicious. Layers of corn tortillas with sweet potatoes, kale, black beans, cashew cream, enchilada sauce, plus pico and fresh avocado on the side. This was a great experience and I can't wait to go back.

Carol B.

Yelp
This is my favorite vegan restaurant in the neighborhood. Hands down. Will return often!

erica s.

Yelp
Was very excited to try the new Petisco - and they certainly did not disappoint! Kudos to them for taking an already popular neighborhood spot and making it more ethical and in my opinion making the menu far more tastey and interesting. They've kept some of their usuals' favorites - like the Bloody Mary's with grilled vegan cheese. The table next to us were firstly dismayed by the change but were pleasantly surprised with the tastiness of the grilled cheese. My husband and I had the tacos which were delicious and the chickpea flour omelette - Also very tasty. Can't wait to try everything on the menu!

AmirReza O.

Yelp
They served a free hot bread before the foods which was VERY delicious ... It was crispy and juicy at the same time... Very near to ideal bread taste/crispiness for me It took them more than 45 minute to prepare the food for our party of 2 people and the server wouldn't even walked to us when we were trying to ask about it... (0/5) The shawarma laffa was also pretty tasty 5/5 but the quesadilla was mostly sweet corn which ruined the other tastes for me (3/5) The ambiance was calm and nice and somewhat romantic, if they had better service I'd definitely consider going there again ....

Dali L.

Yelp
I just tried this place a few nights ago with a vegan group. I loved it. There were many options to be tried on all ends of the menu. I had the cauliflower entree over quinoa which was delicious. The table service was attentive and the wine selection was solid, for those who want that. Next time I think I need to explore the appetizer menu and dessert menu more.

Vee B.

Yelp
I've eaten here four times now, twice for brunch and twice for dinner, and I'm still blown away. Everything I've tried has been cooked and seasoned perfectly and the menu has ingenuity. Also, I really appreciate the amount of gluten-free options with labels! I highly recommend the Oat Pancakes during brunch, and for dinner you have to order the Mac & Cheese and the Enchilada Casserole. The Pear Arugula salad is a nice balancer for some of the "heavier" dishes. And of course, the brownie a la mode :)

Neeta M.

Yelp
Most amazing vegan breakfast/brunch! Everything we ordered was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Veggies were fresh and tasty. I am so happy I discovered this place and will be back often. Best vegan breakfast burrito I have ever had, the tofu was so well flavored and the sauces on top were so tasty as well- comes with a side salad and a healthy portion of avocado- very well priced for what you get! Most places are very stingy with avocado. Nice outdoor seating. Water with fresh mint and lemon. Can't wait to try more things on the menu

Ricky B.

Yelp
Amazing vegetarian food in nice ambiance. The staff/owner is very caring and personal. Beautifully designed space, cozy and full of fresh cut flowers.

Sara A.

Yelp
The food here is transformative on a spiritual and emotional level! The serving size is huge, the food is seasoned to perfection, and the replication to Middle Eastern food is on point. And the ambience is so sweet!

Andres Felipe J.

Yelp
their dishes are the best in all of lower manhattan, they have great diversity and great flavors recommended 100%

T. G.

Yelp
Amazing new addition to the vegan scene! Very cute and versatile place, with great service and delicious food. We've been twice and enjoyed their dinner (enchiladas and jackfruit crab cakes were amazing!) and brunch (pancakes and tofu Florentine - yes!). So nice to be in a place that's entirely vegan, with so many tasty choices!

Chris V.

Yelp
A gem of a place located in the heart of the lower east side. Few blocks away from the manhattan bridge. Right off the bat, very delicious. The place is simply beautiful and the people who work/own this establishment by far are some of the greatest people ever. Vegan all the way, but even if youre not, and happen to want to "try" or perhaps stumble upon going to a vegan place, this right here will be it. Once you try it, you my friend, may even switch your carnivore ways

Korin B.

Yelp
Holy. Moly. I am impressed. Cutest decor. Hottest Australian waiters (I'm talking to you Matt and Jack). BEST EFFING FOOD. Service, food, everything. PETISCO IS THE REAL DEAL. Me and my girls came in for a loud birthday brunch. We took our time. We weren't rushed which says a lot cuz everywhere else pressures ppl to leave. We had great lattes, yummy cocktails and amazing food. Shakshuka? Bomb. Malawach? Bomb. Huevos Rancheros? Mezze Platter? Chickpea Omelet? English breakfast? Enchiladas? BOMB. Prices are great. Food quality and presentation was everything. I need Petisco to blow up. They deserve LINES OUT THE DOOR. I need them to stay forever. I was ready to kiss the owners feet when we left. Seriously. Best birthday brunch. Ever. Thank you for existing. I love you. I couldn't love you more. See you soon. Go here. Go here. Go here. #imripping

Yelp
One of my favorite vegan spots! Such a nice staff, vibe, and selection of food. Their BLT is one of my favorite items on the menu, as well as their pancakes for brunch! My friends who aren't vegan or vegetarian have also really enjoyed the food which is a huge plus for me!

Melissa H.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of great vegan spots in New York but this place definitely is at the top of the game. We were so impressed by all of the food and how flavorful and creative the menu was. We especially loved the coconut tofu burger, the jackfruit crabcakes, and huge enchilada. Not to mention a great cocktail (cocolada) and chocolate carrot cake that we got as dessert. Overall this is one of our new favorite vegan restaurants in NYC and we can't wait to be back to try more of the menu

Aj K.

Yelp
Ate here last night for an anniversary dinner. The food was amazing to say the least. We ordered the Jackfruit crab cakes. Really good!! for dinner we had the seitan shawarma and thr enchilada casserole. Both were awesome! We were seriously impressed with the food. Definitely try this place!!!!

Kate F.

Yelp
I found out Petisco Vegano is going out of business so I insisted a group of us go to support the staff. I am truly baffled. After standing outside staring at said staff for 30 minutes, while no one approached us to let us know the wait time or even say hello, we had to walk inside the establishment and chase someone down. Not only was this bizarre, but the man working seemed utterly annoyed I had even asked. It was then he said the wait would be close to an hour and walked off. Why would no one let us know 30 minutes prior it would be a 90 minute wait? Normally I'd be happy to wait but the level of rudeness encountered was just beyond. Hope you treat the other customers eager to enjoy the spot better than you did us...

Kellee L.

Yelp
Enchiladas casserole was amazing. Always loved their creative salads but enchiladas was just so good. Must try. Chai latte not so much, tried again cause the waiter said they changed the formula, nah. Can live without it. Red lentil pasta, meh. Cashew cheese on top was good but I thought overall disappointing. Still recommend this place. It's is one of my favorite vegan restaurant in the city.one more thing, they do take quite a bit of time for food to come out so if you are ordering anything additional so it quick. They brought our 2nd fries when we were paying and expected us to eat it then or take it to go. Normally most of restaurants will take it back with apologies and take it out of the receIpt but.. it didn't matter. All fine but thought it was a bit odd and left not the best feeling about the service.

Natalie B.

Yelp
This place was so good for so long... and now it's even better. Had the crab cakes as an appetizer which were incredible; chose the planteful bowl as a main (it had Cajun flavors, plantains, and other roasted veggies... so delicious and filling). And to top it off, ordered the berry cheesecake as a dessert - loved the texture and not too sweet. Overall an A plus meal. I'm so happy this place came back with a vengeance!

Vanessa E.

Yelp
It's seldom that I leave reviews, but when I do it's either because I had a very good or very bad experience. This one is definitely the former. Firstly, upon arrival, you notice the dark ambient lighting and fresh flowers abound - can definitely work for a date night! I was greeted by a very nice man behind the counter & ordered the 'laffa shawarma' to go. Let me tell you... It. Is. BOMB! I'm fairly picky about food and usually ask to modify something, but this shawarma needs no editing at all. So many amazing flavors, and LARGE portion! You really can't go wrong. It was delicious, and I can't wait to eat through the whole menu!

Beth V.

Yelp
SO FRESH. Everything we had tasted like it had literally just been picked from the garden. I don't know how they do that! The day I went my stomach had been a little weird, so I opted for the red lentil penne - figured I'd just get some basic pasta... I'm not one to be blown away by pasta but this was so good. The cashew ricotta was amazing. Usually lentil/chickpea pasta tastes kind of weird, like you can taste the lentils, but this was not the case. I need to go back and try more items! My friends also really enjoyed their dishes. We went on a Saturday night and had a reservation for 6:30, but it was not busy at that time. Picked up a little as we were leaving. Definitely recommend.

Fung T.

Yelp
Terrible wait time for the food. I am sitting here with two other people. It's been one full hour. I am not going back here. I haven't received the food yet. Skip this place.

Ivy T.

Yelp
Really tasty vegan food-- this coming from a meat eater. We shared the beyond burger, pancakes, enchilada casserole and the laffa Schwarma. Highlights were definitely the enchilada and laffa. Would recommend!

Kristina A.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. The staff were so sweet and friendly! I Will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Get the tempeh "blt"

Sara R.

Yelp
This is one of a few places where I've eaten during the pandemic, as early as July and it's one of the fewer places I'll return to. So many restaurants seem to be operating at a basic, compromised level (who can blame them, times are tough), but somehow Petisco seems to be as good as it ever was, and their food has always excellent. I shared the mezze platter with a friend and it was $18 and could have been shared by more than two people...falafel, roasted eggplant, tahini and hummus with green sauce that may have been schug. With fluffy pita and what looked liked toasted English muffins with zaatar... I can't eat gluten but it looked amazing; with various crudite including carrots in different colors, peppers and lettuce cups, I didn't miss the bread. Their outdoor set up is nicer than most on a quiet LES corner.

Tina B.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was no wait! Love that there are so many options- Mediterranean/western brunch/breakfast/dinner options! I got an English style breakfast and it was good, not great. My vegan + omnivore friends enjoyed their dishes and the waiter was really patient with how indecisive I was when ordering. Price point was decent- would come back to try their other stuff!

John S.

Yelp
One of the best vegan restaurants in nyc. Stuff are really nice and food is absolutely delicious

Meagan M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, ordered delivery and the food arrived faster than expected. I got the planteful bowl, which changes weekly, and it was amazing, every veggie i could ask for and more, delicious flavor and very fresh veggies (loved the asparagus and sweet potato!) support local restaurants!

Kristi W.

Yelp
A MUST for lunch dinner or brunch. Our party of four ordered 5 entrees because we couldn't decide what too get. All were fabulous!! The menu is eclectic enough to please anyone. This is a tiny neighborhood place so make reservations. I'll be back as soon as I can!!

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Posted about how I was disappointed that this place turned vegan (p. I do go to vegan/vegetarian brunch places occasionally, and even then their menus are better than what Petisco Vegano now has. They honestly had the most solid non-vegetarian brunch food (my favorite being the eggs benedict). Why not just keep the old menu and include new vegan options?
