"Petiscos are as much a cultural reference as they are a small snack accompanied by drinks. They're fun and approachable—designed to be shared among good friends and family—so it goes without saying that this spot, complete with a bar, knows how to welcome guests. Authentically prepared dishes highlight the flavors of Portugal and feature imported ingredients. The rustic, home-style cooking includes favorites such as broa, a traditional cornbread, and lupini beans, codfish croquettes and a tender octopus salad that is a meal unto itself. Slivers of braised pig ears are tossed with a lively citrus and herb dressing and perfectly paired with cilantro and parsley, and the golden-brown grilled sardines are a pleasure." - MICHELIN Guide

Generous potions at a great price. The menu is quite large so we will have to go back to try other items we wanted! **Update** We went here twice in our stay in Lisbon. I have to say the octopus was one of the best dishes I have ever had in my life. The fried sardines are also very good.

A wonderful, local, super authentic, little restaurant in Barrio Alto! Lots of charm, great tasty food!! Friendly, generous service. It's the second time I come here (while visiting Lisbon) and again it was a great experience! The fish of the day was super fresh and made perfectly. Great local wine as well! Highly recommended!

We ate at this restaurant in 2016 and had the most delightful dinner. When we returned in 2018, we were not as impressed, sadly. First of all, I booked a reservation online via Facebook Messenger to get their sole window seat. Upon arrival, the server asked, "You have a reservation for here" in disbelief and said I must have made it at their sister restaurant. (Nope, I contacted the location on Rua da Atalaia on Facebook - the same one I was at.) No problem though, as the restaurant, including my desired table, was empty. We started by sharing mushroom stuffed with sausage. They were good but not great. I ordered the pica pau as an entree because I learned last time how large it was (and it's on the starters part of the menu). Aside from the beef being tough and chewy, I cannot pinpoint it, but it just wasn't as good. It didn't grab me. In 2016, I thought it was one of the best things I had ever had. My wife ordered grilled tuna, which she also had 2 years ago. Despite asking for it to be cooked rare, it was medium well. A fine piece of tuna was ruined. I also ordered chorizo, which was enough to serve 4 people. It didn't have much flavor. We had a bottle of Muralhas – Monção & Melgaço vinho verde, which we very much enjoyed. Our server was very nice, however. The owner was cooking and I don't remember if she did 2 years ago or not. But something was wrong. Our meal at Pesticos no Bairro two years was without a doubt the best meal we had in Lisbon. This time it was just mediocre. I guess I should have been concerned when I saw the restaurant was empty aside from one table unlike the last time when it was slammed. So if you want mediocre, traditional Portuguese food and can't decide between all your options, there's this one, too, to add to your list.

What a hidden gem! If you want to experience local delicious food with cozy, homy atmosphere, this spot is for you. Friendliest, nicest hosts will be almost as much attentive as your grandma! ;) It is not expensive and portions are very fulfilling.

Wonderful little place with welcoming staff and great food. Everything we tried was amazing: don't miss their tuna steak, the stuffed mushrooms, the grilled sardines and the tavern-style chicken. Make sure you leave some space for their desserts.

the waiter should master his service. for example: he shouldn't give iced tea in a can without opening it first. Serving wine: waiter should pour it. The food is delicious !! I trully recommend!

Very good food (we had steak stripes, cooked in a very good sauce, tender), goat cheese and other cheeses and lemon meringhe pie. Very good prices and very nice and smooth serving. Recommend!
