Three dogs and five adults had a blast here. Their flight of fear lettuce taste for delicious beers. My mom got her own flight, so we were able to sample eight of their beers. Everybody loved the food. It goes from heavy to really light delightful salads. The dog give five paws to their pulled chicken

Outdoor seating with a view of the river. Good burgers, I liked my Betty burger. Burgers are a little small since smash burger. Sweet potato and beer battered fries delicious! Love the Blueberry cream ale beer! Non alcoholic options too! Parking options surface lot for free. Outdoor music during summer. Staff were friendly and kind. Vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options.

Had the patty melt, it was very good, but the patty was much smaller than the bread. Need to put it on smaller bread or use a larger patty. Ended up not eating (approx 20%) of the sandwich because it was just rye bread. Drinks were ok. I had eaten there before and got a hamburger which was very good.

Google
Nice brewery and location. Hubby enjoyed the Hopsessed brew. Their house made root beer was really good too. Food was okay, nothing to brag about. The bar was very small but they did have a small outdoor area.

We stopped here after a morning at Petoskey State Park. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. The food was also great. I got a vegetarian burger. And last but not least the beer was also great. Very light and crisp!

Google
Excellent! A must stop, especially if you appreciate history. This building was originally a brewery back before prohibition! It was shut down (because of prohibition), and was restored, relatively recently. Excellent beer, and good bar food. So glad the building is still standing and being used for its intended purpose, the large brick building itself is a highlight and worth the visit! The covered beer garden in the back was so nice and peaceful before all the baseball/softball players (kids) crowded it, but that’s ok, it’s for the locals too. We were at the beer garden and the service out there was excellent, very friendly. Definitely give this place a visit if you’re around.

Google
This has to be my favorite brewery in Michigan. I love the building (which has an interesting history and is pretty). The server me and my girlfriend had was super sweet and great at her job. On top of all that the beer was good and the food great. Can't wait to get back to Petoskey for this Brewery.

Google
This is an awesome brewery, with some great history. Great location on a local rail trail. The beer, food, and service are all top notch.

Yelp
Brewery#271 We stopped in here on our way from the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore to Mackinaw City. When we pulled into the parking lot, I was immediately excited because I loved the look of the old building. When we walked in, I asked the hostess if we could just get beers at the bar. She said sure. Well the bar was full but we ordered flights then were told that we couldn't bring the flights to their back patio because the samples are glass. I thought this to be odd because I have been to 270 other breweries almost always get a flight and almost always drink them outside. Well the bar was full so we tried to sit at a high top table in the bar area. That too was a no-no because you have to ask the hostess to sit there. I ask the hostess and she tells me we have to order food to sit there despite there being plenty of tables open. We weren't hungry so we stood at the edge of the bar with our flights. Seemed like i had a better chance of breaking the glass this way. It was an annoyance but we persevered. Anyway the beers are actually good. I got the S'mores Dark Lager, Dornish Summer Hefeweizen, Wanderlust IPA and Space Filler (American IPA). My favorite of them was the Hefe. The people were nice, The beer was good but my experience was kind of a pain in the ass.

Yelp
While vacationing up north, we popped into Petoskey Brewing for dinner. We were able to quickly get a table on the patio and were greeted by a very friendly server. I never pass up soft pretzels for an appetizer. I really enjoyed the spicy brown mustard. The PBJ sauce really wasn't for me. I asked our server for some recommendations. He immediately suggested the smash burger taco, which happened to be what I had my eye on. These were packed full of flavor and now I want to try to make them at home. It started POURING rain while we were on the patio. We were able to stay outside but got moved to another table with help from a very accommodating staff. We will return the next time we're in the area!

Yelp
Stopped by for an afternoon snack after a day on the road. Chicken tenders and delicious Parmesan fries paired with a pumpkin beer and Juicy IPA. Very nice place with bar, table and even outdoor seating (enclosed in windproof plastic shades) Great ambiance, clearly a popular place with the locals.

Yelp
My significant other and I were in the area and wanted to find a tasty spot! This one didn't impress me much in the end, but it sufficed. The inside seemed small and cozy in a quirky way. We got the Parmesan Garlic Fries to share. These were Beer-batter fries and they were served with a side of ranch dipping sauce. They were $9.00 and they ended up being good. I ordered the Pesto Chicken for my main food item and it was $16.00. It had Smoked pulled chicken, sun-dried tomato, fresh sliced mozzarella, basil pesto and garlic aioli on a hoagie bun. It was served with potato chips & a pickle spear. The sandwich sure was tasty, but it was small. I expected it to be bigger for the price it was. The chips and pickle spear were both decent. For my first drink, I went with the 1898, which was a Lager - American Light. It was 16oz for $6.00. It had a crispy taste and I enjoyed it. We shared the Red Brick Hard Cider, which was a Cider - Traditional. This one was 16oz for $6.00. The flavor was smooth and it made for a calm drink. We also tried the Michigan Cherry Hard Seltzer. It was 16oz for $5.00. I thought it was simply alright. It didn't throw off too much flavor in my opinion. We had to try the Michigan Cherry Spritzer before we left. It was made with Petoskey Brewing vodka, dash of bordeaux cherry juice, Petoskey Brewing Cherry Seltzer and a Bada Bing Cherry for $8.00. It was okay. It wasn't anything special! The service was good at first, but slowly declined. It ended sour with false pricing! Overall, this was a nice place to try, but not worth another visit. The portion sizes didn't match the prices. Date of visit: 3/18/24

Yelp
Wow. Petoskey Brewing is so great! Yes, this building captures your attention from the outside, but what is inside is just as impressive. The menu is killer, and the staff are super helpful. Definitely a great place to check out when in the area.

Yelp
We make it a point to stop here when we are in town for business. This is one of my favorite breweries in MI. The blueberry waffle cone beer (Blueberry Crush) is a must. The horny monk and pumpkin blaster are great as well. Great menu and the staff is always awesome.

Yelp
Enjoyed a hard cherry seltzer and classic burger with Parmesan garlic fries at this historic brewery. The smashed burger, cooked medium, was tasty with added lettuce, pickles, purple onion, tomato and a slice of melted cheese. It came with a side of crunchy Kettle chips. Expected a little more flavor from the Michigan cherry seltzer. It was more seltzer than cherry. The only major disappointment were the Parmesan garlic fries. While they were crispy on top, the potatoes underneath the top layer were soggy and limp. We ate only half of them. Service was great. A cheerful server checked on us several times. And the atmosphere was typical brewery with plenty of talkative patrons.

Yelp
We were in Michigan for 11days and ate here twice. The food and beer selection were excellent and both times our server was friendly, efficient and made us feel welcome.

Yelp
Great service- Server offered up a taste of beers before I committed which was wise. The fig jam burger was excellent, Caesar salad was good, but would prefer it to be cut in advance. Overall would recommend for quick good food.

Yelp
Food was fantastic! Classic Rachel Reuben was one of the best I've had! Beer was cold and the staff super friendly! Their service was fast and the ambiance was very relaxed and comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great looking building, good service and our food was good. Had the "juicy" beer it had a great finish of citrus. Menu is typical bar fare was hoping for a little something more but the taste didn't disappoint. First time here and enjoyed it.

Yelp
The food, the service, and the drinks were all outstanding! We loved every minute of our time there. It's going to be a regular stop now anytime we are in the area. My husband and I stopped in for a small meal around 4 on a Saturday. It was decently busy but our server never neglected us! The food came out perfect, Caesar salad was ice cold and fresh, parm garlic fries were hot and delicious, and the best part of all was the burger. The Smokin Betty with the best onion rings ever. I would order this again and again except I want to try everything!

John S.

Yelp
I'd give them 6 stars if I could! The beer was awesome. I had the Octoberfest and my wife had the Horny Monk. Both were so good we bought a 6 pack of each to go. We shared a French Dip & Cheese Curds and both were amazing. Service was great and everyone was very friendly too. Cool atmosphere to boot!!

Yelp
Went there with the family for something light. Kid got wings and the battered fries. Kid liked the meal. Had concerns about beer battered fries but realized they were pretty good. Old lady got the pretzel and dip. Dip was peanut butter and jelly and their bar cheese. Not bad. The highlight is their lemonade. Great choice year round. I had the 1898. I must say, it reminded me of how good beer use to be. Before "light" and "ice" and low carb. Real beer. Decent atmosphere but seemed light on staff.

Yelp
Stopped in early on Wednesday and it wasn't overly busy. I was thrilled because I could find a seat, order and take my time. Enjoyed a few beers, cider and cranium crush and topping that off with some fish and chips. There were 5 slender pieces of cod, fries, tarter sauce and coleslaw. The fish was delicious and not super greasy and the fries were perfectly done and not soggy. They also sell merch if you are interested. Overall cute little place inside and cool history building on the outside. The waitress was super nice and friendly. Stop in for a beer or food and check this place out.

Yelp
Came to this place for lunch! We were greeted when we walked in and we're seated quickly. We loved the environment and the style of the building. Was also cool to see the history on the menus. After being seated we ordered appetizers. Our appetizers were the pretzels and buffalo cauliflower! I loved the three sauces that came with the pretzels!! The cauliflower was good as well. Our main entre items were delicious. My spicy burger was incredible! Loved the flavor and the bacon on the burgers! Fries were crispy and the sauces were very good! Over all we really liked our food and service from Jen was decent. Over all would come back! 8/10

Yelp
This review is for their satellite location in Cross Village. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the outdoor beer garden was pleasant. We were there for the Oktoberfest specials and left quite disappointed. The food was definitely not up to par or of the same quality as what you receive at their restaurant in Petoskey. We ordered the chicken schnitzel that was served with German potato salad and sauerkraut. Sauerkraut was fine. It's hard to mess up sauerkraut I suppose everything on the plate appeared to be reheated. Maybe even in the microwave. The chicken schnitzel was dry and rubbery and and pretty much not edible. It wasn't even crispy on the outside, even though it appeared to be deep fried . The potato salad had a strange chewy texture. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food was quite lacking.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere , great sandwiches , fresh salads, , friendly staff, good beer, cocktails and mock tails Beautiful settings on the back with the River and garden.

Dominic T.

Yelp
Excellent beer and the atmosphere is awesome! They also do specialty beers that are really good!

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner here on a Tuesday evening. The food was delicious. The drinks were great! Good atmosphere! They were very busy but seemed to be efficient!

Yelp
Great place to grab a burger and good beers. Really cool, old building. Burgers top notch. Good for the guys golf trip.

Mary Ann G.

Yelp
After a rough start(was ready to hunt down management) with new server, Stefan came out to take our order and made up for it. He was great. Beer is fabulous!

Yelp
Good beer and food. Good service and nice ambience. Planning on going back before the end of the week!

Yelp
We went on a little ski staycation and soon realized that almost no restaurants had seating of any type due to current quarantine restrictions. After eating meal after meal in our hotel room, we were so excited when we drove past Petoskey Brewing and noticed that they had a blazing fire and cute little tents set up out back for diners. They closed at 9pm and the last call for ordering food was 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:25pm and they let us place a quick smashburger and onion ring order at the bar inside. We also ordered two lagers and headed out to the back patio. Side note -- there was plastic hanging between you and the bartender and it felt very safe. All staff were masked up and social distancing was enforced too. There was luckily one tent available, although I'd recommend calling ahead if you're set on dining in one. Our little tent had twinkle lights hanging in it and it was adorable. You could zip it up or down and then the server would pop in quickly to drop anything off. There was a big group seated around a massive bonfire and it looked like a blast too. We'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Good food in an exposed brick brewery with Edison bulb warm lighting. Kelli, our waitress, killed it with our group of 7. Great musi

Nick W.

Yelp
We had seven people and it was less than twenty minutes. The food was very good and it was not that expensive. It was a great experience to be there.

Yelp
Food and beer are decent, but management and on-site management are non-existent. Been there dozens of times over the years, but would not return if it was free. Visited three Tuesdays in a row with erroneous billing and service errors galore. To summarize.....Tuesdays is advertised as Locals Night with $15 burgers and beers. On the first Tuesday, we were overcharged by $8 and one order was wrong. We wrote it off as our server was on her second day. On the next Tuesday, we were overcharged $10 and one burger was missing bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and onion. Spoke with the manager (arrived from Wyoming two weeks prior) and she promised to credit our VISA card. Days later without the correction, I got a return voice mail from the General Manager. When I called the restaurant the next day, I was told that she left for vacation and quit. I emailed Tyler, the owner and did not get a reply for five days. When I spoke with him by phone, he said that he got my email, but assumed someone else would handle it. I also asked him if he was aware of the fact that their guest checks suggest gratuities INCLUSIVE of Michigan taxes. He admitted that he set this in effect, rather than raising food prices. Trying to mislead patrons to tip a server on a pass-through tax is unprofessional and dishonest. He asked me to return and rather than a free meal, he wimped out and offered $20. So, the next Tuesday we returned, had inattentive, nasty service and when the check arrived - it overcharged us by $12. The bartender corrected the errors. Tyler has lost control of his establishment. We loved Petoskey Brewing and have spent hundreds of dollars here. It's gone down the tubes with respect to integrity and ethics.

Yelp
This place was SO great. The food was so delicious, the fish and chips are definitely my recommendation, but we loved the fries and ranch too! The beers were unique and delicious! Our server, Colin, was so attentive and willing to deal with how needy I was and just overall a gem. Would go back just for him. It had a great patio as well as a great bar area, was super happy to have found this place. 10/10

Yelp
This is a great place, scenic setting inside and outside- fun to hang out at any point of day and year- really good food, it goes up and down in quality a tiny bit but always at least good- they have some alright brews- overall not my favorite place for their drinks. But all in all this is a must stop for travelers or beer and food lovers

Stacey S.

Yelp
Had a great meal here. Kitchen was very accommodating and made me a chicken ceasar gluten free sandwich on a gf bun which I really appreciated. Husband said the beer was good...very friendly staff. Our server Max was great.

Yelp
Great food, beer, and service! We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Being dog friendly was definitely a bonus.

Yelp
I would have given 5 stars if they allowed dogs (non service) in the non-summer seasons. Since we had our small pooches with us we left them in the car to quickly sample beer and bring home some crowlers (big beer cans). They bartender was awesome, she left us sample as many as we needed to make a decision. We chose the Czech beer - taste REALLY similar to the original Budweiser from Czech Republic and we wer so excited to finally find a beer in the US to get close to crisp full flavor beer. Then we chose the 357 Ale which is a red amber. Again full of flavor and very smooth. It was awesome to be at the brewery and see all the cool merch they have. High quality guys!! We got a winter hat (which proved its worth about 30 min later!! Full protection from the wind!) and an awesome clay mug. It's beautiful and fun to drink out of. Please allow dogs in the winter. Update: We went back and ate there. It's mostly burgers or other bar food but I'm not totally in to getting burgers but gave in and ordered the blue cheese turkey burger. It's been a few months now and I STILL CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!!! It was THE best burger I've ever had. So juicy. Great bun! Yummy fries. And again, the beer is amaze balls and I wish we lived closer.

Gerry B.

Yelp
A great place to stop for lunch and a beer! Horney Monk is my favorite beer! Bread sticks with PB&J too! Back soon!
google avatar

Sasha G.

Yelp
This place is super nice, great clean atmosphere. Gives you the option to sit inside or outdoors. The staff is very friendly and prompt. The service was fast and we got our food in good timing and it always taste amazing. It's also a place where you can bring your children. Every time I've went, there's been families with their kids and that's always a good feeling when you're at a place that includes everyone.
google avatar

Yelp
Wowza!!!!! We stopped in for a beer because of course you have to stop at Petoskey Brewery while in Petoskey. They also had quite a long wait so we headed out back for a beer on the patio. We were finally seated at the bar, which we enjoy, and ordered some burgers, which was a suggestion from the beertender. I can still remember the delicious flavor of the burgers. We both looked at each other and smiled without saying a word...We were in hamburger heaven! If I recall, they are not in the passport or part of the TagaBrew trail, but that shouldn't stop you from trying out this awesome brewery.
google avatar

Kristina F.

Yelp
Great food menu. However I'm not a beer drinker and they didn't have a good selection of drinks. Totally my fault for going to a brewery
google avatar

Debbie E.

Yelp
Finished up our bicycle ride with brews and dinner. Abigail was our cheerful server. After a short wait, we snagged a table on the deck outside. The warm pretzel appetizers come with three dipping sauces, the peanut butter and jelly was a favorite. I ordered French dip with onion rings. The bread was fresh and the sandwich was full of beef, onions, and mushrooms. Delish! There is a beer garden on the lower deck where no food is served.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Always a must stop for us when we are in the petoskey area. The blueberry crush and cranium crush beers are two of our favorites. The cheese curds and pretzels are always a solid appetizer choice, and for entree? The burgers. Always. With the pretzel bun. SO good!
google avatar

Holly S.

Yelp
Beautiful little brewery in Petoskey. Good very food. Beer delicious. Right off bike trail or main road to Harbor Springs
google avatar

Kirsten S.

Yelp
This place was really cute and the food was great! We were just passing through and decided to pull over and it was definitely the right choice. Our server Collin was a hoot and a half, we had too much fun here. Hope we can go back one day!
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
We went for lunch right when it opened at 1130 and were seated right away. It got very busy by noon. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the smashed style burgers and sweet potato fries. My friends who had the beer were very happy with their selections. Nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Daniel D.

Yelp
We had the blueberry lemonade cocktails, pretzels, boneless wings and fries. Service has always been outstanding and was this visit as well. The interior is what you would expect to find at a microbrewery. Decent outdoor patio. Location is easy to find and it's also conveniently located on the rail trail.

Yelp
Happened to drive by while we were vacationing in Petoskey for the first time. The brewery stands out as it is a huge brick building with hardly anything around it. There is a Habitat for Humanity next door and a tiny lake behind it. We were seated on the patio and the tables are just huge barrels with table tops and bar seats. Simple and perfect for the brewery vibe. We ordered the cherry hard seltzer to try since we learned the area was known for its cherries. Great flavor but it was barely carbonated, so a bit disappointing. We had the kids with us so we ordered chicken tenders and fries and the fried shrimp. We also split a patty melt and the PBC salad. All was pretty flavorful but just took a while to come out. The fries are very good. Come to think of it, we haven't had a bad french fry in Michigan yet... Solid place with good food. I assume the flat hard seltzer was a fluke. The flavor was better than what we've purchased at home. I may try the canned ones sold in the merchandise area if we go to the beach during our trip.

Yelp
Coaster. Best bartender ever, she was attentive fast and informative. Great experience
google avatar

Sherry M.

Yelp
I had my dog with me and they were so friendly and accommodating. The beer ... yummy. Did an IPA flight each beer was very good. Ordered pretzel bites ... surprised by the peanut butter and jelly which was very good. Ordered the signature burger... out standing. Stacey you rock. So kind to me and my puppy. I'll be back!!
google avatar

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Excellent server and delicious burger! Probably the best burger I have ever tried anyplace! The beef was from one of the local markets and was DELICIOUS! The pretzel bun really added the extra bit of flavor, not a dry bun either which was a plus! Everything else from the drinks to the atmosphere this is a great place to eat even if you do not plan on drinking! Close to the state park for sunset watching!
google avatar

Marianne G.

Yelp
The beer here was pretty darn good. The building is really cool looking, and there is some history there. We did not get to order food, but everyone around us was ordering the fried cheese curds, and they both smelled and looked amazing. Wish i had had the chance to try them! The service here was not that great. The servers did a lot of standing around chatting near the bar, and less time tending the tables. It was crazy busy in there, too! Not sure how there was time to stand around like that!

Rozanna N.

Yelp
Colin, our server, was very friendly and accommodating. We each had a smash burger and had a flight of beers. The burgers were delicious and the beer, equally so, especially the IPAs. The setting was fun and inviting and we would return, and would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Stopped in here late after skiing and the service was AMAZING. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was the BEST. The beers are all so tasty and the food is great and fairly priced.
