I ordered the famous Lentil soup and a dish named Petra Royal that was tagged as Owner’s favourite. The soup was good and flavourful. BUT, the other dish was a let down. It had no flavours at all, everything was bland. I wish it tasted better because it definitely looked good. 🥲🥲

Google
I ordered the beef Kabob and it was very tasty! The lentil soup was delicious too! Very well seasoned. Service was good.

Google
Amazing food. Large share plate was unreal $25 and would feed 3 people - probably didn't even need to order and entre but we did and also amazing

If you’re a person of color, save yourself the embarrassment and discrimination. I am new to town and decided to try this place out for lunch. It’s 5:30 pm and there’s barely anybody in the restaurant. The host tells me he has to sit me on the outside of the restaurant and not in the main dining area because they have a lot of reservations. I was a little uncomfortable and it didn’t seem right. But I agreed, after all I didn’t have a reservation. A few minutes after I sat, a Caucasian male walked in as asked for a table. He also didn’t have a reservation. The host proceeds to take him inside the main dining room, no questions, no hesistation. I was seated right next to the register so, I heard the whole exchange. But to confirm, I asked the man while he was being led in, “excuse me, do you have a reservation” he responded no. the host then jumped in to say yes. Realizing that they didn’t want me sitting in the main dining area, I said thank you, stood up and left. He waved goodbye to me on the way out. It’s actually sad that a restaurant that claims to cater to diverse audience is actually discriminatory and practicing segregation in the 21st century. Save yourself the pain, stay away.

Great place for mediteranean dishes! I really enjoyed their spanakopita, one of the best I’ve had in Seattle! Overall the experience was great.

Google
We absolutely loved everything here. It all tasted so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is nice, a little dark but cozy and nice. The lentil soup was so very tasty. Our server Catalina was a joy. Highly recommend

Google
Great Mediterranean decor sets the mood. Cozy atmosphere. We walked in off the street, less than 10 minutes waiting. We ordered Beef Swarma ( a combination of seasoned beef and vegetables), prawns both served on a bed of rice, with a choice of salad or lentils. We selected lentils... great choice delicious and seasoned to perfection. Wine and a glass of beer. The food was seasoned well and delicious. The portions were reasonable, filling without feeling we ate heavy meals. The service was great. Paid roughly $65 for two meals, drinks, and a tip.

Google
Nice place for a Mediterranean meal. I got the beef kabob plate. The beef was a bit dry for my taste but it was tasty. It came with a red bean soup or salad. I liked the salad. My wife got the salmon kabob plate and she really liked it. The decor is quite nice with the hanging lamps standing out.

Yelp
Finally found this place after years of searching for it. We had eaten here about six years ago, but hadn't reviewed it, so it was lost in the back of my mind. Thrilled to have found it. We arrived at 1:50, ten minutes before lunch was to end. The two of us shared the simple, and most delicious appetizer. All of our favorites with a large basket of warm Pita. Wonderful service too! Until our next long layover at SeaTac!

Yelp
I was riding the E line bus and it stops in front of this restaurant. I was hungry and wanted to try this place., was there about 1:00 pm. The initial contact was not good. I stood waiting for about 15 minutes and then someone came to help me. They acted surprised that I was there requesting lunch. Was led to a table and a lunch menu presented. Started with the tasty sounding "SMALL MEZZA TRAY Have it all mix tray. Assortment of Hummus; Baba Ghanouje; Labnie, Olives; Falafel; and Dolmathes. Perfect for party of 1-2ppl . Served with Two warm Pita." This was really good. My preference was for the baba Ghanouje and Dolmathes. Also had the prerequisite Middle Eastern lentil soup. An enjoyable lentil soup, however not special. Next this sounded delicious to me. PETRA ROYAL (OWNER'S FAVORITE) Tender Chicken Breast charbroiled with a Veggie Kabob and Zahra (Fried Cauliflower) Topped with sautéed garlic, onions and tomatoes seasoned with our house Mediterranean spices. Served over a bed of rice, topped with sautéed Pine nuts, Almonds, and Garlic sauce. $26.95. This was really good, however more a vegetable dish than a chicken one. You will pay close to 30.00 for little chicken and lots of vegetables. Seemed overpriced to me for what I got. Overall, not bad but underwhelming for the food and price I paid. For 100.00 for lunch, I want my taste buds ideally to be tantalized. Or at least tickled. Unfortunately, I could go to a number of Middle Eastern restaurants and find food much beyond this caliber. Great location, nicely decorated. Poor service and subpar food for the expensive price.

Yelp
3.5 stars overall. I did a walk in with a friend during weekday lunch time and we were seated quickly. My friend ordered a gyro beef salad and I had the chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma was very generous on the chicken & sauce and had a great presentation. I wish there was more rice! The taste was acidic and different from other chicken shawarmas I tried too. I'd come back to try something new.

Yelp
My partner is from Jordan and he approves!! The mezza tray, beef kabobs, and house baklava were unbelievable. "Next level" - my partner. The service was quick and the ambience was traditional. It was really nice to indulge in his culture with authentic flavors.

Leah W.

Yelp
Food was excellent and I think we received some of the best service we'd ever had being in a restaurant. Loved the seasonings soup app was great and overall had a great time!

Greg C.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The food was good One of our party is gluten free which was accommodated easily. Overall a good meal and experience.

Yelp
Got the Taste of Africa dish for take out, and it was ready so fast. The website said it would take 30-40 minutes but it was ready in like 15. When we got there, mg first thought was "wow we should dine in sometime" the interior is very ornate and well thought through. Seems like a great dinner destination. I got the Taste of Africa dish and while it tasted really good, I wish it was a few dollars less, which would've been more on par with similar dishes I've had. But the chicken and veggies were flavorful and I like the spices in the rice.

Alana N.

Yelp
Bomb! Flavor Bomb! Spices are not too overpowering with the right amount of flavor. 1) Ouzi comes with rice, peas and carrot topped with crunch pine nuts and tangy creamy Tzatziki sauce. (10/10) 2) combo Kabob comes with veggie, chicken, Kafta and lamb Kabob. Lamb is the best!! Chicken would be my least fav. A little dry with not a lot of flavor but the Lamb is But surprisingly, red lentils soup stole the show!! It's the best I ever had! Would definitely come back just for it.

Yelp
What a special place. We discovered Petra Bistro searching for a healthier dinner choice when we visited family in Seattle. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and great for dinner with friends and family. Although we had to take our food to a friend's place blocks away, Khal (owner) treated us to an appetizer and gifted us special spices when he discovered how much we enjoyed Mediterranean food. We encouraged him to franchise his wonderful restaurant in Hawaii. The Chicken Shawarma dinner was the best we've ever had -- you can discern the garlic, lemon, spices, and tahini flavors; Beef Shawarma was tender and veggies grilled to perfection; and the Veggie Royal -- perfect for vegetarians with a discerning palate for fresh ingredients and quality seasoning, delicious!

Yelp
Excellent mezze platter, especially if you love it garlicky. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The decor was more period than modern, but I especially loved the camel lantern holders, I want some for my home!! I had the Perea special with chicken and souse had the vegetarian version since that's how he rolls -- we are so much of the starters and lentil soup that we had to take most of our entrees to go, but they were delicious as improvised brunch the next day. (though we did enjoy the house made baklava later the same night!)

Craig M.

Yelp
We had a group of 8 people... great food... great service. I was concerned as the group was originally going to be 5 people and then it grew... Enough said. Go here.

Bobby T.

Yelp
The food is great, and so is the service. The combo was really good to try as you can have a taste of almost everything. The chicken salad was amazing, but the best part was the soup.

Amina S.

Yelp
Best Mediterranean food in Seattle!!! Love dining in and their catering. Can't be beat!

Robyn G.

Yelp
The red lentl soup was so delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the Baba Ganouje. I almost stopped with those 2, but luckily I ordered the garlic chicken. The best all around meal I had in Seattle. This is a must go. Service was outstanding.

Tripti B.

Yelp
I have been to Petra a handful of times and have always had a remarkable experience. The food, ambiance and service has always been too notch. Do check it out. You will not be disappointed!

James L.

Yelp
Great food! Great food! Great food! Friendly staff and good service. Let me put it on capital letters, GREAT FOOD!

Fay Y.

Yelp
My co-workers and I (6 total) came here on a Friday evening to do an after-work hang out. The restaurant is big and has many seatings (I saw a big group of people (12) sitting in the back). We ordered Mezza Tray -a combination of hummus, yogurt, falafel, cucumber, tomatoes, and olives. The olives are very salty, despite that, the dish is amazing with the pita bread. Falafel is crispy. Ouzi with lamb meat - super delicious! the Tzatziki sauce over the rice was on point! Combo Kabob - it came with all the meat options (kafta, lamb, chicken) and the veggie kabob are super yummy. The servers are friendly but the service was a little slow, I need to walk to find my servers a couple of times - but it's the holiday season, and I saw they had many take-out orders, so they must be busy. One of my co-workers is from Jordan and she ordered for all of us, and she approved the food here! We all enjoyed ourselves and left with a full stomachs. I will definitely come back!

Spence R.

Yelp
Myself and my office colleagues (Amazon), literally cannot get enough of this amazing food and top notch service. Always on time with deliveries and never run out of food. If you're looking for top notch mediterranean catering for yourself or your office, this is the spot! Never disappointed.

Joseph L.

Yelp
I went to Petra Bistro last week on a Friday night, had a reservation through Yelp. Check-in was very convenient, and we were seated speedily. I ordered the Taste of Africa, which was an extremely flavorful, well seasoned chicken, vegetable and rice platter with a North African flair. I would definitely go back for the delicious food, excellent service, and ambience.

Eric S.

Yelp
Food is amazing! Great flavor and not overwhelming spice. Service is always super friendly and attentive! Love the food and service!

Andrew Z.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday night and the place was almost completely empty to my surprise. The interior was a bit dark, but otherwise decorated super uniquely. The waiter was quite friendly, but was a little hard to understand due to his accent. I'll give them a pass though since their food was absolutely delicious! I got the Garlic Lemon Chicken with a side of Lentil Soup, and a Mango Lassi to drink, which was more than enough for me to eat due to the large portion sizes! First off, the lentil soup was really tasty, perfectly seasoned and very creamy! The soup had a nice creamy texture with little chunks of soft vegetables scattered throughout. My entree, the Garlic Lemon Chicken, was plated pretty nicely and had a ton of flavor. The star of this dish was easily the sauce drizzled on top. While on their own, the chicken was a bit dry and the rice was good but not phenomenal, the sauce drizzled on top gave each bite an explosion of flavor. It had a sour, creamy, salty flavor reminiscent of a lemony alfredo sauce which really just made each bite a pleasure to eat. Finally, the mango lassi was also super enjoyable to drink. It was a bit on the sweet side for my tastes, but this didn't pose a problem as long as I didn't drink too much of it at a time. Quite nicely done!

Jordan F.

Yelp
It really doesn't get much better than this if the Mediterranean food experience is something you crave! The lemon garlic chicken and lentil soup is something I'll never forget! There should be a line out the door for this fix!

Jules X.

Yelp
Ordered the gyro salad to go. Everyone was super nice and the smell inside the restaurant was divine! It made me want to sit down and try a lot of different dishes but I want to hungry tonight. I'll have to come back and try more of the dishes. The gyro salad was really good.

Lisa D.

Yelp
We had the Mezza appetizer platter and several entrees. The dishes were tasty and I was able to order gluten free options. Would recommend.

Anne S.

Yelp
Twice now they've sent me promo codes for future orders, and then I take the time to build an order only for the code not to work. The expiration date on the code isn't for 2 full weeks, so it shouldn't be expired. It's very frustrating to put together an order expecting a discounted price, and it makes me cancel the order and not want to return!

Rick B.

Yelp
I had a delicious lunch here! The soup and salad combo was perfect - the house red lentil soup was flavorful and the house salad was fresh. The warm pita bread was a great touch. Service was good. Highly recommend! Will likely return.

Michael T.

Yelp
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Theme decor - make sure to check out the photos in the hallway to the restrooms.

Allison P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food! I had the salmon kabob and the fish was so fresh and flavorful. My partner had the Orzo with chicken which was incredible as well! Our wait made great recommendations and was helpful and attentive. Try the house baklava for dessert and the Turkish coffee is very strong but delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Seattle!!

Karl S.

Yelp
Uncommonly delicious. The red lentil soup was flavorful. I was worried the salmon kebabs might be too dry, but they were perfect. The rice wasn't just a filler but so tasty. The baklava was just right, not too sweet. Everything worked well, and the service was top-notch.

Nicolette K.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service - all around a wonderful experience. Hummus is some of the best I've had - happy hour portions are great!

Marsha M.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and was blown away by the food - loved the chicken shawarma, the portion sizes are huge and the chicken is so tender and flavorful! The staff is really attentive and welcoming as well, service was quick. The ambiance was great, would definitely come here again!

Kelly M.

Yelp
We've been going to Petra for years and the food is always excellent, as is the service. Love the dressing on the house salad! Highly recommend--we even had Petra cater our rehearsal dinner!

RR T.

Yelp
This restaurant is a definite must, if you're near downtown Seattle. They have vegetarian and non vegetarian options, both of which we tried. I had salmon and rice (salmon was moderately over cooked) and my husband had veggie royale. He loved this. But we were both enthralled with their mezza tray which had a combination of cucumbers, tomatoes, hummus, yogurt, dolmathes, falafel, and olives. And with their warm pita bread, we honestly stuffed ourselves before the main entrees could come. Next time, some wine, this tray and good company, what a great evening.

Charlie M.

Yelp
Wonderful people gave me a warm welcome. Ordered the lemon garlic chicken for my main course and red lentil soup as starter. Delicious! Full of rich flavors that really show they care about what they are doing. I felt lucky that an earlier lunch plan fell through and I stumbled "by accident" on Petra Bistro. I am marking it as a favorite for return trips whenever I'm downtown. Check it out! Many diverse plates to choose from...

Preethi G.

Yelp
Im visiting Seattle from California. Got recommendations from a friend for authentic Mediterranean food and was very excited seeing reviews and was hoping close to Dish Dash Mediterranean restaurant in California. This food is no where close to Mediterranean food. Very horrible chicken shawarma and spicy chicken. Highly disappointed

Sheri T.

Yelp
Wonderful salad followed by dolmades for me and lamb shawarma for my partner. Service was speedy and food was good. Lamb could have been a bit more tender but it was tasty!

Kathy V.

Yelp
Ordered some dinners tonight. It was such a bad mediterranean experience I want you to know. Spiced horribly. Too much garlic and burned. Love mediterranean food, eat alot of it, cook alot of it. This was a huge disappointment for my sister and me.

Vaibhav S.

Yelp
Service: The server was quick to seat us, bring us our food, and the check. Food: I had the veggie royale. It had plenty of cauliflower, rice, and flavored hummus topped with sauteed almonds and pine nuts. But, I found the food quite bland. There was a lot more rice than there was hummus which was quite bland. The pine nuts and almonds saved the meal.

Diane J.

Yelp
GREAT portions and service. We went around 6pm on a weekday and were able to sit immediately, with friendly staff and quick service. The food tasted so authentic, with the dressing being just enough for my liking (flavorful and not drowning the food) and the rice cooked nicely. The baklava sampler was great as well, being light and sweet.

Krista Rene N.

Yelp
The lemon garlic chicken here is pretty good. The garlic sauce is pretty tasty but different from ones I've had before. They also have a unique hot sauce I've never had either. I also had a baklava and it was very tasty. This place is good but a little pricey for the serving size, in my opinion.

Candi K.

Yelp
This place is an institution in Belltown and whenever I come here (mainly to go) or even for catering the food tastes fantatic. My favorite thing here is the garlic chicken, i'm the type of girl who doesn't think too much garlic is a bad thing, it has a hint of lemon and the rice it comes with is super flavorful. Can't go wrong with pita and hummus as well. I'd sad the falafel can be a bit dry but just cover it in tzatziki sauce and hummus and you're good to go. Service is great as well. Would 100% recommend this place.

Erica Z.

Yelp
Appetizers - 9/10 For appetizers we got a salad and soup which were great. Main course - 5/10 For main courses we got shawarma and a beef & rice dish. The shawarma was drowned in sauce and too salty to finish. The beef dish was also quite salty and sour and we couldn't finish it. Otherwise the flavors were great, it's a shame it was over seasoned. Service - 10/10

Tara H.

Yelp
Petra is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Seattle. They have a wide variety of food options to choose from. On my most recent trip, I ordered the combo kabob plate. It included 3 meat kabobs (chicken, beef, and lamb) and 1 veggie kabob. I enjoyed the beef kabob the most and enjoyed the yellow rice that the dish came with. My fiancé ordered their spice chicken, which also came with garlic sauce and rice. This dish was also very good. Overall, another great experience at Petra and I would highly recommend trying this place out if you're in the area.

Taylor J.

Yelp
Delicious place to grab some takeout for a quick lunch if you are around SLU. The gyro meat combined with sauces and fresh veggies hit the spot without making me feel heavy while finishing the rest of my workday. Add some hot sauce if you like spicy, it's delicious!

Johnny L.

Yelp
Fries and pita the best for Mediterranean.. thin cut strings of potatoes and this gyro wrap, I'm like I don't see many people ordering or even talking about at all when looking at this page so let me be the tester originally besides the wrap, I was debating on which to do the sharwma or wrap.. waiter wasn't helpful at all as he only described what comes with what, but he still offered good service back to the gyro, the only things it is not a 5 is.. the meat was dry and wrap needed more tzatziki

Sravani D.

Yelp
I was here few months ago for dinner and my review was long due. Super nice staff, awesome Mediterranean food and nice ambience makes this a good dinner place. The appetizer platter I ordered was so so good. Especially the dips and spreads. Hummus, baba ghanoush and the tzatziki were creamy and full of flavor. My 2 year old was engaged by their decor and lighting which allowed us to have a peaceful dinner. My biggest ask is their bar menu, which can be expanded. I ordered the only Mediterranean-ish drink which was ok.

Marie I.

Yelp
Came here for an early dinner just in time for happy hour and before the crowds rolled in. The happy hour drinks were good, but the happy hour appetizers wasn't really a good deal for a party of six. We were better off getting a full size appetizer for just a little more $. However, the food was delicious and the service was great!

Angel C.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Petra because I see it whenever I go on any walks around the belltown area. I've seen it has stellar reviews so I had high expectations. I wouldn't say it's a bad restaurant or the food is bad at all! It was just mediocre and nothing stood out to me. The chicken kebob had great portions and I loved the veggie kebob that it came with, I was able to save half of it for lunch the next day. All entrees come with a side salad that was very good. Also tried the Ouzi and thought it was great. I guess for the price point, (~$20/entree) I was expecting a little more flavorful and robust food but I am still happy with my experience nonetheless! Will go back as much as I can :)

Sara I.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals on my trip to Seattle! If you like middle eastern food, definitely give them a visit! The ouzi was so good and the staff were very kind and helpful :)

LaFatima D.

Yelp
I think the food was pretty good. It was reasonable price and the ambience was definitely pretty. I think I had a very good server. The food was good enough that I might go back again.
