12 Best Cafés and Coffee Shops in Istanbul | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of Istanbul’s best-known roasters, Petra Roasting Co. has several locations with distinct vibes: the Petra Café in Topağacı is noted for time-worn tiled floors and plush leather booths, the Bebek spot offers a coveted outdoor garden with low-lying chairs under foliage, and my favourite, Petra Café Şişhane, embraces refined minimalism—steel surfaces, glimmering silver cups and countertops, seating on rows of sleek white steps—and sits a two-minute walk from Şişhane Park with tiered seating and panoramic city views." - Amelia Dhuga

The 38 Best Istanbul Restaurants | Eater

"Petra Coffee Roasting is a big player in the coffee business in Istanbul. The cool, buzzy Gayrettepe HQ — which also operates as a production space for the coffee brand — is the perfect place to hang with drinks, amazing pastries, sourdough bread varieties, and a hip all-day dining menu: eggs, tartines, steak and fries, an awesome chicken schnitzel, Waldorf salad, and a diner burger. Sit awhile to enjoy the music and the people-watching, then visit their General Store in the back for hip clothing, home goods, and other designer items (and stop by the other Petra branches in the city as well)." - Tuba Şatana

Petra Roasting Co. Gayrettepe is much more than just a coffee shop it’s an experience. The coffee is consistently excellent, roasted and brewed with real craftsmanship. Their French omelet and fresh breads are perfect, simple yet refined, and make for one of the best breakfasts in the city. But what makes Petra truly special are the evenings they sometimes host intimate cocktail nights reserved for regulars. These gatherings feel like a secret shared among friends: creative cocktails, a warm and familiar atmosphere, and the sense of belonging to a community. It’s rare to find a place that combines world-class coffee, delicious food, and such a unique cultural vibe. Petra Gayrettepe manages to do it all effortlessly.

Petra Roasting Co. is a very nice and cozy spot—perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. They offer a great variety of desserts and pastries that pair well with their coffee selection. I tried the Chemex, and it was smooth and well-balanced. Highly recommended for coffee lovers and anyone looking for a comfortable café experience!

Flat white 10000/10 Cappuccino 9/10 Schnitzel 100/10 Cannele 0/10 First you have to know why you going to this place and for what exactly: For a coffee yes definitely!! Food and breakfast yes of course!! Desert : we sorry that we had a very disappointing experience, maybe an other choice could be better! But to enjoy the company of someone while sipping you coffee or enjoying reading a book unfortunately it’s not your place!! Super noisy , not cause of the crowd but the very loud music that seems everyone is complaining about it and they still not doing anything about it! The service was nice and fast even that it was a weekend and very crowded! Prices are high yes , but that’s the new Istanbul I guess! We will definitely go back again to try different food and for the coffee for sure! Thank you for the experience

Petra Roasting Co. is truly one of the gems in Istanbul. I visited for breakfast and absolutely loved the experience — the place feels like a museum with its unique design and cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, fresh, and felt like everything was handmade and natural. Their coffee? Probably the best pour-over I’ve had in Istanbul! I even took some bags of their coffee home with me — that’s how good it was. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a coffee lover or just looking for a special breakfast spot.

Great spot with consistently delicious food — you can count on the flavors to hit the mark every time. It’s usually crowded, which says a lot about its popularity. The only downside for me is the music: it’s way too loud. Feels like it’s turned up just to move people along quicker, which kind of kills the vibe if you want to stay and enjoy your meal. Still, worth a visit if you’re okay with a fast-paced atmosphere.

The food is amazing, the seating is not bad, but the music was too loud, I had to shout to my friend next to me to hear me! The staff is helpful but because of the crowdedness the response is a little bit slow.

We have had the best speciality coffee in Istanbul here and the breakfast and brunch options were so good too. A special thanks to Metican for amazing service and his attentiveness. My friend accidently spilt her drink he brought her the same drink in a to go cup for free, it’s those kind of things that make a place memorable and somewhere you want to come back to.

Yelp
It's the best coffee I had in Istanbul, incredibly flavorful, you can in fact taste the floral tones. The interior design and atmosphere is incredible, extremely modern yet has the odd telescope or oldtimer to add a bit of flair. Like some other coffee joins, it gives you a card so for buying 10 coffees you get one for free. The only drawback is the location. It's not very easy to get to and the there isn't much of a view. The desserts, while seemingly healthy, you know no glutons, no sugar, no fat, basically anything that makes a dessert tasty, resulted in one of the most dense brownies I've ever tried to eat. So as long as you stay away from the desserts, you should be fine.

Yelp
I visited this place and this place is just marvellous! Nothing like any other coffee house I have seen before. I also purchased coffee beans (Kenya karinga) and the espresso I made with them was so tasty that I forced every person in my office to taste it! Seriously, you should visit this place.
