The 21 Best Restaurants in Marseille, France | Eater
"The latest address from the team behind La Mercerie is a cafe-cum-bakery in the heart of the city that’s a nonstop hitmaker from breakfast to 7 p.m. The bakery prepares loaves from organic flour using natural yeast, and the kitchen serves up excellent shakshuka, egg-and-mayo sandwiches, sausage rolls, focaccia, brownies, and cookies with chocolate from the city’s only bean-to-bar chocolate producer, La Baleine à Cabosse. Stop by to pick up supplies for a train trip or on your way to the beach. The coffee’s really good, too." - Alexander Lobrano
Best coffee shop in Marseille!!
The speciality coffee is excellent. Perfectly made. Best cup of coffee in the area, for sure! The team make delicious bread (including sourdough) on site. And also a great range of cakes and pastries. I also recently had one of their sandwiches- a chicken harissa mayo sandwich on sourdough. It was incredible!
There's a very small indoor seating area but plenty of outdoor seating. Very friendly service. Highly recommended.

We had delicious sandwiches for lunch at this small counter service restaurant with shaded patio seating. I loved the chicken harisa sandwich's light spice, crunchy greens, and soft bread.
This place was a convenient meal stop when exploring the city near the harbor. We enjoyed seeing the adjoining historic hardware store next.

Best flat white we had in Marseille!
The pastries were amazing, we also had the bacon sandwich but it was not something wow.
Also the square the cafe is located is so nice to sit at.

Cute cafe with nice outdoor terrace seating to rest and watch people 😍 good selection of drinks, cakes and pastries, too bad I could not drink coffee but hope to try that when I come back some day! :)

My experience with coffee and bread was forever changed; no matter where I go, this place remains the best. Be mindful of what you order and keep it simple: no croissants, no pain au chocolat—just real, honest, and heartfelt bread and coffee.

Petite cafe with tasty cold brew served in a glass with ice! Based on another review I ordered the monster cookie and it was an experience in itself!

As a coffee lover that’s always on the hunt for the best coffee whenever I travel, Petrin Couchette is the best coffee I had in Marseille and they are also a lovely cafe with lovely outdoor seating.
Just wanted to note that they didn’t have decaf coffee available, but the coffee was quite good. Very much recommended for specialty coffee lovers!
