The 17 Best Restaurants In Manhattan Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"When it comes to Greek food in Manhattan Beach, Petros is uncontested. The formal spot is located in a pleasant outdoor mall with a courtyard, where people wait an hour or so for a table on weekends. Much like a large supply of bubble wrap, the lamb chops with fries here never fail to please us. They're filling enough to share with at least one other person. You should also order the grilled octopus and tender beets dish drizzled in olive oil, which goes well with a glass of sparkling rosé on their wraparound patio that fills up on warmer nights." - nikko duren, brant cox, garrett snyder

Petros Kafe is a gem! Authentic, delicious homemade Greek food with the freshest ingredients. The staff is so lovely, and the coffee (La Marzocco!) & Iced Matcha are top-notch. Their sunny, spacious patio is a delight. Highly recommend!

Google
Petros Kafe offered me an amazing and authentic experience! The staff is very welcoming & kind hearted! Service was excellent and everything was prepared beautifully! With the ingredients being imported from Greece, the food was unforgettable and it truly felt like I was at the Greek islands! I would highly recommend to get a nice Freddo Espresso & Chicken Souvlaki!

Parking was easy and right next to the cafe. It’s wonderfully charming, has great vibes. Inside is the cafe with coffee and ready to eat things like pastries, baklava, muffins, spanakopita. I got an iced chai latte (it’s deliciously spiced, creamy, and had a marvelous lil kick) and, per the kind worker’s suggestion, i got the tyropita (feta in a pastry, topped with honey, served with tzatziki). I devoured it! I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Google
Really cute local spot for coffee and Greek food. We just had a late breakfast (that was great) and the food truck smelled amazing… definitely going back for lunch/dinner. Friendly staff (thanks Bree!) Really nice spot to stop on the way to/from the beach + cool views of the wetlands. Worth a couple blocks detour if you’re biking the beach path 🚲. Edit: we went back for a late lunch today… the food was fantastic (thanks Roberto)! We really enjoyed the meal. Great menu. We had the filet mignon skewers, chicken pita, chicken tacos, and prawns. Definitely would recommend all of them as everything was cooked perfectly… meats were super tender and seasoned well. Veggies + sides were awesome. We’ll definitely be back, thx.

Best coffee in all West LA! Super cozy, very welcoming atmosphere, stunning views in the back patio and delicious Mediterranean cuisine, I’d return there only for view like that😍

Google
This Greek cafe hits! They have a great outdoor space that actually utilizes the view of the wetlands, no other restaurant along Culver does this. I came here for lunch with some girlfriends and enjoyed a Caesar salad with incredible dressing. Their fries are delicious!! Alongside their lunch and dinner menu that you can order from the food truck parked on their lot, there’s a full cafe inside! You can purchase their house made fetas and Greek olive oil, these make for perfect presents around the holidays. The employees here are beyond kind. They helped my friend who needed a place to change her baby, thank you for making this a safe and comfortable place for moms!

Google
Petros Kafe is a hidden gem in Playa Del Rey! I absolutely love their kouroubiedes (butter almond cookies)—they’re so buttery and delicious, you won’t find better anywhere. All the drinks are fantastic, especially the chai, matcha, and coffee, which are always perfect. I’m Greek so I really appreciate that I can pick up authentic imported products like oregano, olive oil, and honey here. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the view in the back is a lovely bonus. Perfect spot for a relaxing drink and snack!

Google
BEAUTIFUL local business! Stopped by bright and early in the morning, Bella is super welcoming and full of friendly vibes! Amazing lattes and croissants, I even bought their sealed honey. Loved the indoor setup and outdoor patio! Definitely will be back to try the food such as the pasta, tacos, and pita. I

Yelp
Recommend the Freddo espresso & Freddo kappuccino. Strong bean. Rich blend. All around quality

Yelp
Well, well, well.... Petros Kafe. Wooohoo!!! I'm still smackin my lips from the gyro I just wolfed down. Btw, they closed at 7 and not 8pm as the to-go menu shows, but nevertheless... i made it in time. Maybe weekdays they close at 7, and weekends it's 8. Not sure, but either way, get your butt over there and check it out. The FLAVUH, OMG.... THE FLAVUH!!! Btw: kudos to the penmanship on the chalkboard. Sometimes, its the little things that stand out

Yelp
Petros Kafe includes traditional Greek coffees and imported ingredients from Greece (feta, olive oil, honey, oregano) which are used in the food from the food truck and sold separately to use for your own cooking! The service was fast, the employees feel like family, and the location gives a great ambiance of a Greek island! I had a Freddo Kappuccino & the chicken souvlaki! The price is super affordable, I highly recommend to stop by!

Yelp
I love the food and the cafe , amazing staff and wonderful outdoor setting. This is stage one of the build with a restaurant via premium food truck experience , and wonderful cafe for coffee type drinks and desserts (awesome desserts) . The quality of the meals is excellent

Yelp
I am very excited for Petros to come to Playa Del Rey. We love their MB restaurant and were very excited to see the cafe and a food truck in our area. We went to get lunch at the food truck and the food was delicious! It is definitely one of the best tasting spots in Playa! They have bunch of outdoor tables overseeing the wetlands where you can eat. They are definitely just starting out here and I can't wait for them to expand and become one of the landmark places in the area.

Yelp
So excited to see a new coffee shop in Playa del Rey!! Right on Culver blvd, this will make a great new addition to the neighborhood. Cute coffee shop, so far it appears they have coffee, tea, matcha, cookies and pastries. The barista informed me they will have food in the future (the Petros catering food truck is parked outside) likely inspired by their Manhattan Beach restaurant menu. There is also lots of outdoor seating and a great view. Latte was great, I didn't try any food. Very friendly service, it was not crowded while I was there. Parking is only street parking or the paid lot further down Culver.

Christine C.

Yelp
I had the BEST spanakopita and coffee today at Petros Kafe! The Kafe is clean, cute and the staff is also very friendly. I will be back again soon.

Yelp
Excellent food and coffee. Love the view too. There was a breakfast burrito, scramble and omelet available- not pictured in the menus I took photos of.

Yelp
This place is my favorite! It's the perfect little undercover gem in playa. My mom and I walk almost every morning to get a morning coffee and matcha. The lady at the counter is so sweet, and our drinks always come out super fast. The drinks are amazing, I love the matcha here. I usually get a soup when I come and they are so good, definitely recommend. The place is decorated adorably. My favorite part of this place is the compliment jar I think it's such a nice addition that I've never seen before.

Yelp
Tasty food in a nice setting. We sat outside in a picnic table setting. We were told there was inside dining too. Food is ordered from a food truck and brought out.

Yelp
Best gyro in America! We were all over Greece last summer and had a gyro from a different place every day. This is the first time we have tried food at Petros and it did not disappoint! The gyro and fries were very authentic and the tzatziki sauce was perfect! Well done Petros! I hope more people begin to notice this spot.

Melanie G.

Yelp
Delicious gyros and sautéed shrimp. Really cute outdoor area with twinkle lights. Only issue is parking.

Vivian J.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and pastries!!! We went early so the food truck wasn't open yet but I can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
A cute Cafe with a food truck and patio! We went there for dinner on Friday and food was really good! We will go back to try their coffee and brunch for sure!

Yelp
With so many places that offering food in the Mediterranean category, Petros is decidedly Greek. The grilled meats have a more pronounced herbaceous flavor and the Avgolemono soup - Greek lemon chicken soup - is lemony and has just the right amount of body to appease a cool evening. The accompanying grilled vegetables are also well seasoned with herbs as well. Service is unique in that the cafe is pretty much for sitting and enjoying a coffee, while a food trailer parked along the side is actually where the food is prepared, paid for and picked up. The cafe is nice and cozy. I was there after dark but would feel that any outdoor seating would be nice with the southeast and east exposures. I only touched the surface of the menu but with how good everything was, I will be back to try more.

Yelp
Amazing little cafe in playa del Rey. I usually get a cold brew coffee or iced coffee. It's always delicious & strong! I recently tried the tiramisu & baklava. Wow, both are absolutely amazing. They are a must try. They make most items fresh in store or they come from their other location in Manhattan beach. I love the staff as well. Always very welcoming, friendly & great conversation. They even have a nice area to sit out back which overlooks the wetlands. It's a much try spot.

Yelp
We love this place! What a fantastic addition to Playa with incredible menu items. The food is fresh and good quality-- I love the Greek salad and gyros. The outdoor atmosphere is fun and overlooking the beautiful wetlands, with great service as well. The truck idea is brilliant and keeps it casual and easy. We live close by, but I really hope as they get through the soft opening more people come out to enjoy their offerings!

Yelp
Calm cute Kafe! Finally a nice good Greek place in playa. We walked over and sat outside overlooking the wet land..... lentil soup was delicious! Great spanakopita and souvlaki.... What a great little gem!

Alton H.

Yelp
Fabulous Greek food! We have been twice this week. Outside tables with a peaceful view of the Ballona marsh makes the seem like a transport outside of LA. The Greek salad is a delicious plate of cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, olives, capers and small addition of red onions. The grilled prawn plate reminds me of spot prawn at Providence. High praise. Fillet mignon skewers with onions bell peppers were seasoned simply with salt, pepper, oregano. Chicken souvlaki was the best prepared that I have tasted in years. Great gyro! Rice and the grilled veggies are great sides. Kudos. My new favorite with restaurant!! Friendly service.

Yelp
This place is so cute! What a fun add to our little neighborhood. After driving by the last few few weeks, I stopped in after my beach walk for a coffee. The very helpful woman behind the counter suggested an iced Americano half sweet with hazelnut and oat milk. All nondairy. it came out perfect! The outside courtyard seating looks like a fun place for a Meetup or small party, and I'm looking forward to trying the Greek food truck in the future. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
My wife and I live just up the hill and had been eagerly awaiting the new Petros outpost for months (love the Bacari, Playa Provisions, Boheme, PoW, Cantalini, TC Organic rotation, but it's nice to mix it up). Have come for the coffee/pastries, which are solid, but the lamb - which we've now had in gyro, salad, and pasta form - is what it's all about. Adding in tons of outdoor seating with a view of and directly abutting the Ballona wetlands makes this place a new staple in the rotation! Destined to be a Playa staple for years to come

Yelp
Just what PDR needed, healthy and fresh delicious Greek food! So lovely to have another Petros location, the MB restaurant has the same delicious food & a little bigger menu, but the view of the Ballona Wetlands wins for the Kafe. Thanks for giving us such a beautiful dog friendly place to sit with family & friends to watch and enjoy our local Ecological Reserve. Hopefully people will learn to respect & appreciate it more now that we have a space dedicated to spend time sitting near it. This is where I'd warn people that it's Wetlands, if you're coming to watch the Sunset expect the mosquitoes to show up at dusk, so wear layers. If you're lucky you'll see the South Coast Marsh Vole crawl onto the patio, they are NOT rats - much cuter actually very important to the ecosystem & they only eat plants. So don't try to feed them - they're protected like everything else in the Wetlands, and they're not coming for your food. The coffee shop is also lovely, and all the crew is so welcoming. All the pastries I've tried so far were fantastic. The current setup with the food truck outside is great for an outdoor meal or take out. Looking forward to the future restaurant expansion! Excited to try everything on the menu.

Yelp
looooooove this new spot! the best food and holy crap the freddo kappuccino is my new go to coffee!! Bri is always such a delight too and they have dog treats for my girl! the back patio is perfect any time of day to hang out

Katelynn T.

Yelp
My first time visiting this place, came all the way from San Diego and was looking for a nice place to study. Sotiria was so sweet and amazing! She recommended the Freddo kappucino, I asked for extra vanilla in it. And I got to try a greek chicken pie too. Would definitely recommend this cute Greek cafe :) thank you Sotiria for your hospitality

Roger S.

Yelp
I've never even heard of bougatsa before and it's so good! The latte was great. The location is cute and the atmosphere is very home-y. The woman who helped us was so friendly too! Very homemade Greek treats!

A G.

Yelp
Such a cute spot and great atmosphere! The cutest seating and they have a compliment jar. The coffee is a 10/10 too!

Kristin P.

Yelp
This place is awesome, such a great addition to the neighborhood. They have the yummiest lattés. The food is pretty good too, just a little pricey. Everyone is super friendly and there is a really cute "take a compliment/leave a compliment" jar that will 100% brighten your day. Oh and if you're caffeine sensitive be careful, their coffee is STRONGGGGGG, I get decaf and that's enough for me!

Yelp
Such a great little gem in Playa del Rey! So glad I found this place. Perfect ambiance by the wetlands -

Yelp
Wonderful all around. Warm attentive service. Beautiful outdoor space. Truly fresh delicious food. Will be back again and again!

Ali R.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood! This place is awesome. And delicious. Had an iced americano and it was so smooth. And the almond croissant!!! Fresh, flakey and yummy. You could tell is was baked vs frozen and repurposed. And they are dog friendly! My pup got a pup cup and a cookie! Lots of great seating inside and out. Will definitely be back. :) so happy to have a good coffee place in Playa again.

Rachel H.

Yelp
Cute cafe on Culver near the beach! Really kind staff and great coffee. They even gave my pup a few treats! :) will be back to try the food truck in the back patio next time. Really great atmosphere outside too.

Yelp
Friendly staff, cool decor, good coffee decent prices, what more would you want from a coffee shop?

Carolyne C.

Yelp
This place is gross, found what looks like a bug in the ice of my $11.00 late made with freshly burnt espresso. Save your money and time and don't stop by

Amaris L.

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday morning with my little dog. There were dog treats by the door for my little guy to munch on while I read the menu. The barista was very nice and explained some things on the menu I wasn't familiar with. I ordered an iced latte with vanilla (1/3 sweet) and it was the perfect sweetness if you are used to ordering half sweet at most big chain coffee shops. It was a really good latte! I'm often disappointed by coffee drinks that I don't make at home and I was impressed with Petros. You also get a free little cookie with your coffee! We'll be back!

Adam S.

Yelp
Loved the pastries and drinks I got here! Can't wait to come back and try a full dinner. Great service as well

Anil M.

Yelp
Well done, Petros! Petros Kafe is a really enjoyable spot in "downtown" Playa Del Rey. Courtyard dining right next to the marsh provides a relaxing environment; you order from the "permanent" food truck in the parking lot and you can get coffees and pastries inside. Their lamb tacos are top notch and delicious, and their breakfast burrito has a fusion greek twist to it with gyro and feta (I typically don't like feta, but their home made feta is delicious and creamy!) which I got to enjoy with a side Caeser salad. The fries are great as well if salad isn't your thing. Cappuccino was delicious, and they have a number of house made desserts to choose from. Great service as well both for food and the cafe.

Leah B.

Yelp
Cutest little cafe with amazing Greek food!! I am beyond excited this adorable little place has come to PDR. The staff is so friendly and quick and the property is gorgeous. I could hang out here all day! I almost didn't leave a review because I want to keep this little place to myself but they absolutely deserve success so I decided to be selfless :)

Erin H.

Yelp
We came by for dinner on a Friday night with the kids. The staff was warm and accommodating. The gyro, chicken pita, salmon and lemon soup - were all delicious and as a nice bonus, the sandwiches and entrees came with salad or fries. We went inside to order desert and really enjoyed the pastry, especially when it was warm. It's a cool setup with views overlooking the wetlands. Will definitely be back

Robert S.

Yelp
Saw this place driving by the other day. Picked up a few gyro plates for us today. Excellent.

David H.

Yelp
Just stopped by there for the first time and had a gyro. It was fantastic! And just found out it's related to the Petros in Manhattan Beach. I've been to that location many times and the food is amazing! So glad to have this delicious new addition to the neighborhood.

Haley J.

Yelp
Staff was so friendly! Amazing location with a killer view. Check it out at sunset. Do some work out on the patio!! And the food as always delicious and fresh. A little taste of Greece. So excited to have a new go to spot in the neighborhood!

Andrew S.

Yelp
Fun spot to walk down to and grab a coffee, food is spot on and they make a great dirty chai

Nondas E.

Yelp
Amazing place ,best Freddo capuchino,, while you enjoy best view of Balona wetlands....
