"Walter Manzke’s Mexican restaurant Petty Cash Taquería will close today, October 20 after 10 years of operating on Beverly Boulevard. Opened in May 2013 with restaurateur Bill Chait, Petty Cash Taquería took over the former Playa space serving Baja-inspired tacos, cocktails by Julian Cox, and lesser-known agave spirits such as sotol and bacanora. Petty Cash, which Manzke named after iconic rockers Tom Petty and Johnny Cash, briefly expanded to the Arts District in the Fifty Seven space that is currently Yangban." - Matthew Kang

Margarita was tasty and good quality ingredients - lime juice tasted fresh and tequila had actual flavor and not usual rubbing alcohol.. Fish tacos was really good, octopus tacos was nice flavor combination but little hard

So I get the first review. Here goes; The standard tequila marg was very well made and the rose jose was distinct and perfect. Loved that even the bus guy knew the drink names and that they have a valet button on the register so you can put it all on the card. Great atmosphere but I think I'd book a killer Mariachi band from Ensenada to kick the fun factor up a couple notches because after starting our date night off shooting a 50cal pistol and a glock 9mm it just feels like there's just too many places like this in LA. Give me a reason to love it and I will. But tonight there are too many empty seats for a Friday and nachos are just nachos. Someone needs to take a trip down the street to Yxta.

Really good place, it was a shame it wasn't busier when I was there. All the tacos are all good, the guac is amazing, and the quesdadillas were killer. Their menu is a little limited, but they definitely strive for quality not quantity.
