Pha That Luang Vientiane

I would have rated 5 stars but they were in the middle of renovations on parts of the temple. There was a lot to see here, but I'm assuming more to see if half of one side of the corridors wasn't cleared out. Again, I'm assuming renovations because that is what it looked like to me. Definitely enjoyed taking in what was here though. Got some really nice shots of the architecture and sculptures. It's definitely impressive work. I'd love to come back once it's done being renovated and see what I missed the first time. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Wonderful day celebrating the holiday with my family. We went in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, but all the vendors were still available selling local, delicious food and drinks. We had a wonderful time. If you don't know, long pants and full shirts are required to enter the temple itself. If you don't wear that, the proper attire can be rented for a very small fee and deposit just outside the actual temple. See photos attached. Beautiful Buddhist Temple. The entrance fee is 30,000 Kip for foreigners and 5,000 Kip for locals, which is very reasonable. Whether you’re interested in architecture, religion, or Lao culture, Pha That Luang is an absolute must-see when visiting Vientiane — a golden symbol of faith and unity that truly represents the soul of Laos. 🌕🙏

Where the temple is located, there are several other temples inside, all of which you can visit. Specifically, the entrance fee for this temple is 30,000 kip. The rest is free, and I recommend spending an hour or two there, depending on whether you like to take your time. It's worth visiting since there are several other things to see nearby.

A gorgeous gold pagoda or stupa. The surrounding temple area has many artefacts to check out. This a place worth visiting, there is also a statue of a Lao king outside the main complex. A good way to escape the heat of the Laotian weather is to walk under the cool clay tiled corridors - a bit of ancient engineering to battle the afternoon heat.

The architecture at Pha That Luang Vientiane is truly magnificent. 🤩 The golden stupa is a breathtaking sight, exuding a serene and spiritual atmosphere. 🧘 I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the intricate details and the peaceful surroundings. 🌟

30k to walk around it - you could probably enjoy the view from the outside if you're short on cash. The golden reflection is truly stunning in the afternoon light. Be sure to visit the temple to the right of it and see the reclining Buddha and painted ceilings there.

Nice place to visit and be calm at. Take it easy, walk around and do not buy the birds that should be released just to get caught again the next day.
