The 8 Best Pakistani Restaurants In NYC

"Restaurants open until 4am are a rare find in New York these days, so Phalia gets points for that alone. Full disclosure: we haven’t actually been here at 4am, but we've heard there’s a lively late-night scene most nights, and the food is just as fresh as we've found it at prime dinner time. Phalia also deserves praise for its ginger-heavy paya or goat trotters, and spicy charsi chicken karahi, which will keep us coming back at any hour. If you’re more of a morning person, come by at 10am for a breakfast of anda masala, buttery aloo paratha, and chai." - neha talreja

Phalia - Review - Flatiron - New York - The Infatuation

"Restaurants open until 4am are a rare find in New York these days, so Phalia gets points for that alone. Full disclosure: we haven’t actually been to this Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Indian counter-service spot at 4am, but word on the street is that there’s a lively late-night scene, and that the food is just as fresh as what we've experienced at prime dinner time. Phalia also deserves praise for its excellent ginger-heavy paya, or goat trotters, and spicy charsi chicken karahi, which would keep us coming back at any hour. If you’re more of a morning person, come by at 10am on the dot for a breakfast of anda masala, buttery aloo paratha, and chai. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Neha Talreja

I ate here when the afternoon was quiet and enjoyed everything. Excellent flavors and reasonable charges for the amount provided. The personnel offer assistance with sincere friendliness. I couldn't find fault with any course. All my friends have never been to this hotel and they absolutely love it and will definitely be returning.

Tasty flavor food with great portions and very reasonable prices. It is the kind of place you go to have good food but probably not for a date or formal thing. The only issue we even had was that one of the dishes wasn't that hot but the hostess fixed it quickly. Our favorite dishes were the tandoori chicken, lamb seekh kebab and chicken curry (non veg platter with 2 non veg for 12 and tandoori platter for 13). The naan was also quite good. They have a large selection of food including 10+ curries, biryani and Indian/Pakistani appetizers.

I've been enjoying repeated meals here without public praise. This restaurant delivers freshness without the high price tag. All menu items impress while remaining accessible. The employees displayed genuine warmth. This place hasn't seen the last of me!

Google
This place is absolutely delicious and we felt so welcomed. The staff seemed to truly care that we were enjoying our meal and it was a very friendly environment. The portions are large and the food was fantastic. Trust me, try this place out! I know you might have hesitations, but this is the message to tell you to go for it. So glad I did!

Google
Such a hidden gem. If you're reading this review, you have to come here. Quintessential, no frills kind of home cooking. The older woman let me try the dishes, loaded my plate up with food, and only took $10 when I tried to give her $20. The food is absolutely delicious

Google
This restaurant consistently delivers excellent food and service. The worker shared recommendations but left us to choose. The atmosphere offers genuine uniqueness. I have tried many of their dishes and have loved everything. I'm grateful this restaurant is in my area.

Google
My usual restaurant disappointments were nowhere to be found. The menu categories made sense. The team delivered remarkably attentive care. The prices are elevated, but value exists in certain items. I'm planning to return, maybe repeatedly.

Google
About what you'd expect. A rather slow-moving couple serves up mediocre-tasting Pakistani fare in a no-frills space. Food is reheated in microwaves from dishes, and they give you a TON. +1 star for letting me pay with cash to avoid tax.

Yelp
PROs - nice location, price , some food items were good CONs - overall presentation , cleanliness , curries ., microwave food Was in Lexington ave and saw this place . They had a board outside saying the food is 9.99 but it looked like a click bait :) the lunch special was 13-15$ .. priced ok though . Went in and there was no one to help, for atleast 5-10 mins . Someone came after that and helped with the order . I ordered a lunch special and they picked the curry and started to microwave . I thought they generally prepare things fresh . Hope the curries are fresh and made just then . One issue is - they put the rice and mix all curries in the same plate with the rice . When you have your roti , you need to pick the curry from the rice and that isn't the best thing ! Wish they give curries in a seperate bowl ! Goat curry was really good . Chicken curry was average . They didn't give any veggie curries . Roti was really good . Soft and fresh . The whole place could be revamped and be a little more cleaner . 2"3 Stara overall ..

Yelp
It's not a fancy joint, but the chicken jalfrezi, chicken jalfrezi and a potato and eggplant dish were impressive. I can only call the sauces complex. There are several fast steam table options; I don't know how it works to order from the actual menu. They were very welcoming to this first-time visitor.

Yelp
The worst mistake you can make for lunch It looks like a good deal but spend $2 more and go someplace else for a lunch special! I got the chicken tikka masala and the palak paneer for $12 and while the palak paneer was fine the tikka masala was inedible. It has zero flavor and what flavor it did have was heated up plastic. The chicken piece I tried was chewy and tasted off. Overall not worth it since the entire container went in the trash!

Yelp
I work in the area so I sometimes go for lunch. The food is kinda good and very fresh; I can't give a high rate because I found the amount of food they give you is sometimes really TOO SMALL . I'm very hungry for lunch, and especially with meat they can be VERY cheap which it's a pity cause the food is good. Also, I found the price for a plate changes randomly. I ended up paying $12 for a small veggie plate, while sometimes I paid $10 for a meat plate. Too random.
