"Phara’s, the popular Mediterranean spot on 111 North Loop Boulevard, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to save the restaurant. Owner Jeanette Friedman (also known as Phara) explained that a particularly cold winter has kept patrons out of the 400-seat courtyard, resulting in a precarious position for the restaurant. Phara’s first opened in 2008. Phara was previously a professional bellydancer and features the entertainment at her restaurant. The restaurant is also known for its Mediterranean food like hummus, baba ghanouj, and roasted lamb shank." - Erin Russell

Definitely worth a visit if you want something different. Live belly dancing. The staff are very down to earth. Food is good too!

The place doesn’t look like much from the outside. I wouldn’t have walked in had a friend not recommended it. Even then, I was hesitant. They serve Mediterranean Food, which is pretty decent. Lamb shanks and kebabs are good. Gyro is eh. Meze plate is good. One of the best aspects of the place is the very cozy (though somewhat shabby) backyard with string lights. On a warm spring evening it’s almost as if you’re transported to the Mediterranean. The belly dancer and live Mediterranean music complete the whole atmosphere. And the fact that it’s BYOB doesn’t hurt. I do recommend PHara’s only if you’re ok with the somewhat shabby environment.

The food is decent; vegetarian options are limited. The lights and belly dancing make for a unique ambience! Also, it's BYOB!

Great outdoor space, food, and entertainment. Enjoyed the apple flavored hookah. BYOB establishment.

This is a wonderful slice of what I imagine old Austin was like. The food is great, the service is great. Not pretentious. Very good value for the quality of food. This place is great for romantic dates, big groups, you can bring your kids. Belly dancer is super fun. Five stars

This place is great for large groups. The food is always on point and their hookahs are good with lots of flavors to choose from. Is byob too, so don't forget to bring your drink of choice to enjoy while watching the belt dancing. Service can be a little slow because of how popular it is, but it's not the type of place you should go when you're in a rush anyways.

Belly dancing, hookah, amazing food. The atmosphere is what really makes this place. I say you should get a 6 pack or a bottle of wine, had here at like 7:30pm. Dancing starts at 8. Inside or outside. I always sit outside, it's like a little private Oasis. Can't recommend this place enough

Perfect atmosphere, decent food (albeit a bit overpriced). My hugest complaint was the waiter took waaaay too long to get out our food and he got our orders all mixed up. Why didn't he have a helper? Why did it take him an hour to get our checks out? There were a lot of mistakes he made and it really ruined the vibe. Otherwise a great experience, especially the music and belly dancing.
