Yelp
4 star ambience, 4 star food, 3 star service. Good sushi restaurant with some service hiccups, slightly aggressive pricing and parking problems.
4 star ambience: Interior ambience is terrific with mood lighting, a stylish but sensible layout and very cool art touches. Exterior parking problems are pretty obvious...the lot is too small for the business and was formerly the valet for the previous restaurant to occupy the space. Each visit it has been a nightmare of entitled luxury car drivers double parking or blocking the exit, coupled with badly marked entry / exit and poorly lighted signage.
4 star food: The sushi, sashimi, tempura, etc is good but not great. Sushi and sashimi were fresh and well made but nothing extraordinary. Tempura was over-battered and over-fried to the point of shoe leather-like consistency. Prices were slightly higher than they should be.
3 star service: Each visit has been somewhat chaotic and slow service, starting at the front desk. There always seems to be more than one host seating, but each time they are either talking to one another or otherwise not quickly seating customers. Every visit of three there was confusion as to which server was on our table, to the point of needing to repeatedly flag down random servers to get orders placed and food delivered.
This is based on a composite of 3 visits. The parking and service problems popped up 3 of 3 times. The parking and service issues seem fixable, but in a little more than a year open, have not been addressed.
