"Located in Grogans Mill, the second iteration of the award-winning Katy Asia Town created by the late Chef Alex Au-Yeung offers an enticing menu of Malaysian hawker-style street food. The award-winning beef rendang and roti canai are requisite for a first-time dining experience, but be sure to try its many noodle and rice dishes, the sizzling egg-made tofu, the classic Hainanese chicken, and the salt-and-pepper calamari. The cocktails are also riveting, with an Island Gin and Tonic that blends gin, shiso tonic, Sichuan peppercorn, and chili for a tingling but pleasant sip. The Pandan Colada, a mixture of pineapple juice and pandan-coconut syrup offers a refreshing non-alcohol sip." - Laura L. Green, Brittany Britto Garley

"With chef Alex Au-Yeung’s enduring vision and special touches, the Malaysian restaurant opened its largest location in The Woodlands. The 8,200-square-foot building welcomes diners in through an LED-lit archway. Inside, Chinese lanterns, designed by Au-Yeung before his passing, illuminate wood-framed booths that complement the restaurant’s splashes of fiery orange and red. A stamped metal chandelier serves as a focal point in the room. Near the entrance, a vibrant painting of Au-Yeung by Chris Hernandez, commissioned by the chef’s friends at No Label Brewing, reinforces that Au-Yeung’s palpable tenacity still permeates the space." - Brittany Britto Garley

Ambiance: Malaysian restaurant decorated with a street vendor & modern aesthetic perfect for lunch, a date night, or any special occasion! Their menu is expansive and there are several options for curry, rice, noodles and more. They also offer vegan/vegetarian cuisine options. There is a bar area to sit at as well as several table options. Do note that it does get crowded at peak times/weekends. Parking onsite. We enjoyed sitting in the back room with windows that overlook The Woodlands greenery. A bit on the pricey side but totally worth it for the food quality & service! Our waiter was super friendly, fast, & knowledgeable. Everyone on staff was welcoming and went out of their way to open doors & accommodate guests. Our food came out quickly despite ordering during the lunch rush. I high recommend Phat Eatery! The chicken curry was possibly some of the best curry I've ever had - especially in the area. Large portions as well, making for great leftovers.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here and it was his first time trying Malaysian food. We loved the modern design and were seated in an area surrounded by windows with natural light and views of the trees. It was gorgeous and welcoming. The overall design of the restaurant mimics the streets of Malaysia as if you were going to try some street food. It's an open air kitchen so you can actually watch the chefs cook. They are somehow able to combine modern with street like and futuristic style. The menu is easy to navigate with plenty of options. Pricing is very fair. Service is friendly and attentive. I was pleased with the flavors of the food and the presentation. We ordered the whole fried Pomfret fish and ate with our hands and didn't receive any dirty looks. There is no other way to eat fish in order to get all the meat. It was perfectly cooked and the unlimited white rice was wonderful! We also liked the noodles we ordered. Not sure what it was called but it had this great fried wok flavor we demolished it. The roti was soft and fluffy with yummy curry sauce. We live 5 minutes away from this restaurant so we will certainly be back to try other dishes on the menu!

5 Stars – Incredible Flavors and Outstanding Service We had an amazing dining experience at Phat Eatery in The Woodlands. The food was absolutely fantastic – every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly cooked. Kayla, our server, truly made the night special with her attentive, friendly service. She took great care of us, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring our meal was flawless from start to finish. If you're looking for a place with exceptional food and top-notch service, Phat Eatery is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent place! The food is served family style and it was delicious. We decided to sample a few entrees and took the server’s recommendation of her favorite dish, the CK Teow, and we loved it! The only complaint we had was the calamari in the CK Teow, which was rubbery and very chewy. The beef rendang was so tender and flavorful and the Malaysian fried rice had a perfect blend of meats and veggies. We like spicy dishes and chose level 3 (out of 5).

Google
Phat Eatery offers an unforgettable dining experience with standout dishes like the flavorful Roti Canai and the savory King Mushrooms to start. The Malaysian Chicken Curry, Beef Rendang, and CK Teow were all perfectly executed, bursting with authentic flavors. On top of the delicious food, the service was impeccable—making for a truly enjoyable meal!

Sooo dropped in on this place on Saturday and let me tell you…it was amazing!! My daughters and I came in and were greeted by the staff and sat right away. Wasn’t to busy but a nice flow of people. The interior of the restaurant is really nice. You aren’t sitting all on top of each other and surprisingly felt like we were in our own little world. Our server, Ashley was TOP TIER! Once she found out it was out first time she went over the menu with us and made some great suggestions. Everything she suggested we ordered except the noodles (they weren’t delivered that day) but I’ll be back!! We ordered drinks: L.A.X & Malaysian Sling. Our appetizers were the salt and pepper calamari as well as the roti with curry chicken. It was an explosion of flavor! You won’t go wrong ordering both. Dinner is served family style and we ordered: Malaysian chicken curry, sweet basil beef, snow pea leaves, Nasi Kemal and Malaysian rice. Everything was amazing. Honestly every dish was packed full of flavor snd uniqueness. Before we left Ashley brought us a sample of the chicken curry broth…yall I could just eat a bowl of that with some roti on the side!! 10 out of 10 I recommend and I will be going back!! Gotta get them noodles I wanted

Wonderful, flavorful experience! Everything from the roti, beef, chili prawns was bursting with deliciousness! Appeasing to all senses! Just walking in had me excited because of the scents wafting throughout the restaurant! Drinks were reasonably priced and GOOD! Paolo was an amazing guy! Will ask for him next time, as he made our visit even better! Highly recommend! And, get the calamari! Yum!

This former Fuddruckers is hardly recognizable; clean, fun and inviting. I don’t love Thai food, but my dish was tasty and everyone appeared to enjoy it. If I had to eat Thai food I’d go here. They do have a loyalty rewards program, and if you like Thai food, you will probably like Phat Eatery.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant with friends. I made reservations via Resy and had to put a card on file. If we missed our reservation, I would be charged $15 per person. This place can be overlooked as it sits behind woods. Once you make a u-turn off of Sawdust if coming from 45 and make a right onto Grogans Mill Rd you make a left at the first entrance. The parking lot is a decent size. The dress code is casual for patrons. They have an open kitchen so you can see the cooks cooking. They have a full bar, booths, and plenty of tables. The lighting is pleasant not too dark or bright. The restrooms were clean and slightly modern. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We had Tatiana as our waiter and I would definitely recommend her section when visiting. She gave great menu recommendations, checked on us frequently, and was pleasant to speak with. Tatiana informed us that the food is served family style. Therefore all dishes are shareable for 2-4 people. In my party it was only 3 of us and we left with plenty of leftovers. Per Tatiana's recommendations we ordered the sizzling beef black pepper with "level 2 heat", organic green beans from McAllen Tx "garlic flavor", sweet basil fried rice, coconut milk rice, kids side of chicken fried rice due to one of us having a seafood allergy, the table automatically gets a pot of white rice, and Kerabu Prawns. For drinks my friends ordered the elderbloom which they said was spicy. The Elderbloom drink was small and had one large ice cube and was $13 for a few ounces. Not worth it to me. One also tried the pink drink which she enjoyed. A glass water bottle and small glasses are placed at the table once seated and is unlimited. All of the food was amazing! Everything was well seasoned, fresh, and hot. The sizzling beef was spicy and tender and the garlic green beans were delicious. I would say those were my top two favorite things I ate that night. What I liked about the fried rice is that it came with three meats. I am curious to try other dishes when I visit again. The dishes were decently priced for the amount of food served. This place is family friendly and great for dates. Our overall bill price was $167.27. Phat Eatery has two locations. I would highly recommend this place if you are ever in Katy or The Woodlands area.

Yelp
Overall a nice restaurant. We were recommended this spot by some friends and so we decided to check it out. Upon walking in, the restaurant is really beautiful inside. It is a somewhat open concept that allows you to see the kitchen as you are eating. Our waitress was lovely. Very nice and quick to make recommendations. The food itself was pretty good. Some dishes were outstanding and some were just okay. I think we will return here eventually to try a bit more of the menu.

Yelp
Why 4 stars? Because it was an upgrade from our first experience. --- --- --- A year or two ago, we visited the original Phat Eatery location in Katy and could not have been more excited to do so. Unfortunately, the food was shockingly bland. So when they decided to open a 2nd location much closer to us, I was not necessarily in a big hurry to visit. But my wife really wanted to go, so we chose to grab lunch here on New Year's Day. We started off with Roti, which was a little underwhelming. I pretty much always love Roti, and certainly didn't hate this rendition, but it was a bit watery. Next, was my favorite dish of the day: Coconut Prawns. This was a no-doubt 5-star dish. If you like shrimp and you like coconut, this is a must. The only negative about it is something that is certainly not unique to Phat Eatery: serving shrimp with the tail still attached. Why do restaurants do this? It just creates such a mess. For our entrees, we ordered the Mee Goreng and the Billionaire Fried Rice. Both were fine - probably between 3 and 4 stars. Once again, blandness was a bit of an issue, but not as much as our first visit. I wouldn't necessarily rush back to order these again, though. The most impressive thing to me was the actual build of the restaurant. It used to be a Fuddrucker's and you would have absolutely no hint of that if you didn't already know it. It looked like a brand new building - the contractors and designers could not have done a better job. Food wise, I still don't totally love Phat Eatery, but I do appreciate a small business that has clearly earned many fans.

Yelp
From the moment I stepped inside, this place made me feel far away with all these delicious Asian street food! This restaurant smells delicious, you can see their kitchen as you come in. I love being able to see where the action takes place when it does. Our waitress was on point, there when we needed her and giving us time to make our decisions. We ordered the Roti with curry sauce and it was amazing. The roti melts in your mouth and tastes like buttery goodness! We also had the beef Randang, I really liked the flavor, it is spicy but not hot. We also had the curry with chicken and jumbo shrimp and that was my favorite. The dishes came with a good amount of rice. I will say, each dish is just enough for one person in my point of view, maybe my family and I eat too much. I was very comfortable, we were never rushed. I will recommend this place for sure and can't wait to go there again.

Yelp
There's a new eatery in town--PHAT! It's tucked away behind the trees, but it won't stay a hidden gem for long! Located near the library that's currently under construction, this spot is sure to make waves. We absolutely loved everything we tried for dinner! The portions were generous, starting with the mild curry veggie soup, which was absolutely delicious. The spice level was very mild--perfect if you're sensitive to heat. It also came with a large bowl of white rice, making it a hearty option. For the entrée, we had the flat noodles, and for an appetizer, we tried the peppered calamari. Both were outstanding! The calamari, in particular, is a must-try. To top it off, we sipped on their fresh-squeezed juices: prickly pear & watermelon, and elderberry & pomegranate. So refreshing and flavorful! A special shoutout to our waitress, Tatiana, for her exceptional service. She truly made the experience even better. Highly recommend checking out PHAT--this place is a winner!

Yelp
Service was excellent Food was amazing Roti with curry hits the spot, curry was flavorful and not spicy at all, roti was perfect for dipping Beef rendang is must try. If you have not, its beef rendered down with a thick curry like sauce

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for the first time and absolutely loved it! The ambiance is so nice and there's a lot of space inside to sit. 10/10 The service was excellent 10/10 For drinks, we ordered lychee sunrise absolutely refreshing and delicious! 10/10 For appetizers, we ordered chicken satay skewers (I didn't like them very much), salt and pepper calamari (amazing), roti canai (amazing), award winning kebaru prawn (amazing and refreshing). For entrees, we ordered curry laksa it was so flavorful and has thick and thin noodles along with tofu and the curry is coconut! 10/10 Sizzling beef black pepper very delicious 10/10 Ikan bakar- a must try this fish is too good! 10/10 Mango chicken - a bit spicy and sweet it was average 6/10 Million dollar rice - didn't taste good 5/10 Highly recommend trying this restaurant out all the entrees come with a pot of hot sticky boiled rice!

Yelp
I am so excited that Phat Eatery chose the Woodlands for their second location. The new location is much bigger with a clean modern look. This location has most of the same menu as the original. They are still working to add dim sum and a few more options. I love the chicken curry it's definitely a must. The roti with curry sauce was delicious. We also really enjoyed sharing one of the salads as a starter. Our server was friendly she has waited on my parents several times now. We talked with the manager on our way out about how much we love the concept. We will definitely be back soon.

Debbie J.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, loved the sizzling beef, the chicken dish and the rice noodle dish. The bar could have been better, meaning my son ordered an old Fashion and they didn't have the bourbon that was on the menu, I ordered a pear martini and they were out of that as well. But if you like Asian food this is a must go to, even if you don't this will change your mind.

Zahir P.

Yelp
Been here twice and had an amazing experience both times. Top notch service Tania made the experience even better! All the foods and drink are delicious! The roti canai is chickem curry with naan, a perfect t appetizer. The entrees are shareable, we haven't been able to finish any of the entrees and have had to take it togo. The sizzling beef is exceptional - it's poured on a hot plate in front of you and you can see it sizzle away. The curry laska was also delicious - it's a combination of a few noodles and meats. We replaced the shrimp with curry chicken and it was mouth-watering. Can't wait to come back to this restaurant!

Yelp
Good food, nice size portions, a little pricey, attentive staff, close seating, lots of choices.

Yelp
Lovely place and amazing staff. You MUST try the roti canai, it's delicious! I had to take some to go for later. The two main dishes we ordered were the sizzling beef black pepper and the hainanese chicken. Both entrees were good but the steak was my favorite. All the portions are family style so good to share with the whole family. The staff are very welcoming and nice. I got a chance to meet the manager and he was very nice. I will definitely be back to try fries rice and the noodles.

Yelp
This was actually my fourth visit to this restaurant since they opened. We haven't been disappointed. I had lunch with a large party of ladies. The service was spot on, and they happily provided us with separate checks. I ordered the Malaysian Fried Rice that is a favorite and I ordered the salt and pepper mushrooms to try something new. It wasn't what I imagined and was a type of mushroom I had never had before. It was very flavorful, but I didn't enjoy the texture, it was a bit chewy. The servings were large so there was a lot of sharing, and we all got to sample multiple dishes. Everything was freshly prepared. Eating here is an adventure.

Rex C.

Yelp
Blown away! Fave meal of the week! Top notch and easy five star review. They are doing everything right here! Food: the sizzling beef was sizzling! Talk about presentation! Every bite was so tender and full of flavor! Simply amazing. This was so best beef Asian dish I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. The Malaysian fried was simply amazing! How could I forget about the nan. It was so flaky and made to perfection as well. Everything was top notch and full a flavor ! The customer service was excellent. We really enjoyed the huge bay windows. Great views and great food. We will be back soon.

Yelp
A recent "immigrant" from Katy, Phat Eatery packs a ton of flavor in their take on Malaysian cuisine. With a menu full of curries, seafood, noodles, beef, chicken, rice and fresh vegetables, there's something for everyone. They don't hold back on the drinks either with unique fruit juices, mocktails, cocktails and a full bar. Service was great with new staff finishing up a weekend of training with seasoned members of the Katy crew. Imwe started the meal with a Roti Canai. Two pieces of a tortilla like bread with a curry dip. It was phenomenal. I would suggest two orders as this will disappear fast! For mains we had the beef rendang which featured incredibly tender beef in a curry with potatoes and the sizzling beef black pepper which is reminiscent of pepper beef featured at many Chinese restaurants. Both were of top quality, not too spicy for my heat adverse palate and were accompanied by rice. The juices were phenomenal too. I was fond of the blood orange/cherry drink and the watermelon/prickly pear with other unknown ingredients was dispensed of rapidly. Management has done a great job reconfiguring the building, giving it a welcoming upscale casual feel with great views. Come soon. This place is going to get hot!

Yelp
I recently visited on Saturday, and had a mixed experience. The restaurant clearly has potential, but there is definitely room for improvement. The service was okay overall. Our server did warn us that the evening would be hectic. While she seemed sweet and managed to do relatively well throughout the evening, there was one notable hiccup. Midway through my partner's order, our server abruptly put her hand in his face and exclaimed, "Oh shit! Hang on a second," before running off to deliver food to another table. Although my partner wasn't bothered, it felt unprofessional. Additionally, the MeeGoreng and Pineapple Fried Rice took an hour to reach our table. The wait was notably long, but we luckily had other dishes to keep us occupied. As for the food: When we arrived, several menu items were already unavailable, including all prawn dishes and curry chicken options, which was disappointing. However, we did manage to make up for it by ordering a variety of other dishes: Roti Canai, Satay Skewers, Calamari, Sweet Basil Chicken, Beef Rendang, Ikan Bakar, Snow Pea Leaves, MeeGoreng, and Pineapple Fried Rice. Order the Roti Canai. This is an absolute must-try. The roti bread was soft and flaky, pairing perfectly with the curry dip. It's the same, if not better, than the one at the Katy location. The Calamari was also quite flavorful. However, the rest of the menu items were decent but not particularly memorable. Ambiance: The restaurant seemed unprepared for full capacity. A few menu items were already out when we arrived, and by 7 pm, they had sold out of almost everything and had to close early. The kitchen was visibly backed up, and many of the servers were running around to manage the rush. Overall, although it was hectic, the staff seemed to manage relatively well. I'd say that the food also has potential. I recommend coming after a month or two, once they've had time to iron out some kinks and there's less of a crowd. If you decide to visit sooner, make a reservation and arrive early to avoid the lunch and dinner rush. Note: When we were paying out at the end of our meal, it was discounted 50%. It came to us as a surprise and we were very grateful. Thank you to the Phat Eatery team. Hopefully we'll see you again soon.

Yelp
Soft Opening Alert: If you've been in the woodlands a long time you know this place is where the old Fudruckers lived. Well, now you can't even tell this was a Fudruckers. Kevin and team has transformed this place into something I never thought it would be. Not only was the atmosphere AMZING, the food was impeccable topped with too notch service. I call this a DOUBLE WINNER for the Woodlands. We didn't have not one bad thing to say about our visit. They will be opening soon but for now, at least take a look and the dishes! You won't be disappointed. Pictured: Curry Chicken Noodle Soup Calamari Mixed Skewers Roti Canai Sizzling black pepper beef Coconut Prawn Hokkien Mee Malaysian Chicken Curry

Yelp
Came here with a group for a bday dinner. None of us had been here before, but we were all intrigued. We started with the bread and dipping sauce that is pretty popular there, and it was amazing. The bread is almost cresant flakey, and the sauce was flavorful without being spicey. We also had the calamari and chicken skewers which were also tasty. For my main course I had the chicken curry. The dish was massive and could easily be split between two or three people. It was not spicy at all (I asked for mild) but extremely flavorful and satisfying. I would get this a million more times. I also had one of their cocktails (Pink Rabbit) and enjoyed it immensely. I can't wait to come back here already! The only complaint I have is that the chairs were very uncomfortable. The food, drinks, and service are wonderful!

Jack A.

Yelp
Great Asian restaurant in the woodlands ..already have been a couple of times and food did not disappoint..will be a regular for us.

Scott D.

Yelp
This fun casual spot offers an outstanding selection of Asian and Malaysian dishes themed around street foods. A visit totally took me back to living in Singapore and eating at the car parks and hawker centers. Generous quantites, reasonable prices and great variety. Roti Canai and calamari made for a great starter to a main of Char Kway Teow. Very frienly and helpful staff accomodated our unplanned largish group and were great with suggestions forbore unfamiliar with the cuisine. Being quite authentic, one note on their heat scales. I like spicy food, and normally happily enjoy a 4/5 heat scale, when the server described their 5 as Ghost Pepper, I chose to go for a 3, "Thai hot" which was great for me but a bit much for some folks in the group. Consider stepping down a notch unless you're a real Scoville seeker. Anxious to go back and explore more of the menu

Anokhy D.

Yelp
I heard this place was opening soon in the woodlands area and was excited to not have to drive down into Katy for it. We were surprisingly able to get a table for five for dinner on a weekend night, and ordered maybe too much food (but it made for great leftovers!). I got the pink rabbit cocktail (so good), roti canai to start (the curry dip is coconut-based), and the mango chicken (comes with rice). Everything on the menu looked good but sadly I only have one stomach so I'll just have to return!

Ruby Grace V.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place. Order just a few things so my review is limited. The ambiance was great! We got seated all the way at the back with the view overlooking the woods which was awesome. Service was amazing. Very efficient and food came out fast. Food wise I only tried three things and have mixed reviews: Roti: amazing! 10/10 Beef Rendang: 7/10. The beef was great and I love that it came with a generous serving of white jasmine rice. The down side was the potatoes were a bit undercooked. Maybe it was just a manic monday so ill give this a try again next time. Curry Laksa: 6/10. I have had laksa in the passed in different asian restaurants and this wasnt what I was expecting. I imagined a thicker creamier broth while this one was runny. I didnt expect two different kinds of noodles too. Maybe this is what a true laksa would be? My husband enjoyed it though he wouldve wanted it spicier. Cant wait to go back and try the other dishes

Maricris R.

Yelp
I would like to highlight my positive experiences as a repeated customer here. I appreciate the exceptional service and quality of food offered at this restaurant. My favorite drink is the lychee margarita and my favorite dishes are the beef rendang and CK Teow, which has always been consistent. In addition, the staff have all been very friendly with a positive attitude. The addition of this Asian establishment in the area has enhanced the local dining options because it contributes to a more diverse culinary scene, which can be beneficial for the community here in Spring/Woodlands. I just wanted to show my gratitude for this establishment's proximity as it is very convenient and a wonderful addition to this area.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place too me today, my wife and I decided to go for lunch. I was a great decision the place was great. We loved the decor when we walked in and , so far so good. Our waitress Samantha was awesome, she had some great suggestions and great service Now the food OMG !!!! Started out with the Roti Canai and curry , that was so delicious we ordered another before the main dish came out... We ordered Curry Chicken.... Smh it was the best I've had here in Houston ... our 2nd dish was sizzling beef that too was delicious.... I definitely will be making this place a regular spot of mine and telling everyone I know about it... oh yeah if you like spicy ask for the hot sauce

Samettria B.

Yelp
We loved this place. As soon as you walk in the set up is like an Asian street set up. So cute. We were reminiscing when it was Fuddruckers years ago. We shared many memories when the kids were very little from Saturday night out dinner to youth ball game gatherings. My children are adults now so they enjoyed sharing memories sitting to the back of the restaurant. They have done a great job with the ambiance. We really liked how everything was served by dish. Real family gathering time; sharing meals. We pretty much ordered almost everything on the menu. The food was fresh and very flavorful. They did great because it's hard finding great tasting food in the woodlands (speaking from a real home cook check out @504cookhouse). We really experienced something different. We were open to broadening our palate's. The waiteress was probably one of the best I have ever had. She was very knowledgeable in the menu. The star dishes for us were the prawns. Next was the roti and the sizzling beef ( so good). While I have never had roti this bread was epic. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful. The waiteress also shared what they will be adding to the menu next month. And of course we will be back. FYI you have to make reservations ahead of time but it is casual dress. It really felt like we were eating in a home dining room. Which I love for family gatherings.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Our waitress was awesome and food was great! Very flavorful! We had a party of 10 reserved... a few teens with the bunch! It was great. Not only nostalgic for me and my husband as we used to be the annoying pre-teens who ordered bread and hung out at this place when it was Fuddruckers but knowing the transformation to the Phat Eatery preserved the structure inside and closed outdoor space was pretty cool. The food was so good! Def family eating style attached pictures but my apologies I have no names for all!

Yelp
Wait staff is excellent. The food is great! Tried old favorites and new ones. Consistency in food prep and friendliness of staff!

Yelp
Ambiance is very nice. Roti very flaky but the curry sauce is not right, flavor is missing n diluted. Satay chicken is perfect. Haninese chicken a bit over cooked. Chicken rice is bit dry, I watch they add the chicken fat in the rice. Garlic snow pea leave is good. Server Kayla is very friendly n nice.

Yelp
Beyond excited to have a restaurant like Phat Eatery in the woodlands. There aren't many Asian restaurants with the type of cocktails and menu like Phat on the north side that we've found. They're still in a soft opening phase so menu wasn't as vast as Katy location but still - the food was awesome and the service was really good. DEFINITELY a restaurant not to be missed!

Yelp
I have heard great things about Phat Eatery, and couldn't resist trying this new location. The restaurant was pretty spacious with lots of parking. Being fresh to the woodlands area, it was still pretty busy. However, even at full capacity, my food arrived at a timely matter and was just as delicious as expected. The cocktails were just as tasty with the perfect balance of sweetness. On the contrary, minor request were forgotten by staff - but nothing too major to reiterate - overall, great experience.

Yelp
This place is amazing! We always have our one dish that we get but we also always add something new to try. Never disappointed.

Yelp
We arrived hungry and ready. Our server was so sweet and informative. We ordered the billionaire fried rice and satay chicken. I wished the cucumbers and red onions were a little pickled, but still tasty! The vibe was cute, we loved how it felt like going to a night market :) definitely a must try and keep coming back type place!

Yelp
We stopped by before a concert in The Woodlands for a late lunch/early dinner. It's a pretty massive space inside with lots of tables and probably a good spot for large groups/events if they allow. In terms of the service, the person waiting our table was very friendly and provided recommendations on dishes we should try and what the restaurant was known for. However, the quality of the food was lackluster for the price. The roti chanai was a decent starter - warm, able to pull apart nicely with your hands and dip in the curry sauce, and not overly pricey. Just enough for two people to enjoy as well. The Ck Teow stir fried noodle dish was the highlight of the meal for me. It came in a large portion - more than enough for two people to share and have leftovers. The noodles were cooked well and came with shrimp, squid, sausage, and bean sprouts. The squid wasn't my favorite due to its rubbery texture, but it could just be my personal preference. The flavor of the dish was also pretty smoky, which can become a bit overpowering the more you eat it. The Hainanese chicken (with a side of rice not pictured) was a big letdown. It came out lukewarm and lacked flavor. The rice, which had a lovely aroma from the spices used, was equally lacking in taste and needed more salt. My reason for a 3 rating is primarily because the price for everything between 2 people was steep for the quality of the food on this day.

Yelp
I've eaten at Phat several times now. The food is delicious and it comes out super fast. The service has always been solid and the ambiance is clean, maybe a little sterile but I like it. Try the Phat Old Fashioned, you won't be sorry. I Deron-tee it. ; )

Yelp
Yes please! So let me start with the wait of 45 minutes was well worth it! It's the new hype in The W, so I totally get it. Then our waiter Paolo was super duper attentive and explained some of the items we ordered. He was so helpful and patient with us. Then our food came very shortly and I think we hit the jackpot with these four items. The sizzling beef was so good (according to my daughter coz I don't eat red meat), the Malaysian chicken curry was so tasty, the noodles and Malaysian fried rice topped with egg was done beautifully. Each entree was presented very traditionally and neatly. Oh boy, I think we found a gem here at The W!

Yelp
Excellent food! We had the Beef rendang, Malaysian fried rice, ( both excellent) Not a fan of the mango chicken or chili prawns but the roti with chicken curry was excellent! We'll be back to try other options on menu. Service was great, ambience was a bit noisy but I care more about food than ambience. lol. Glad to see this restaurant in the Woodlands!

Yelp
It was my first time visiting Phat Eatery and it definitely won't be my last. Everything was wonderful from the restaurant's decor to the food itself. Kirby was my server and she spent several minutes with me running down what was on the menu. She gave me many good suggestions on what to get and we had some lovely conversations. I ended up ordering the Roti, the Mee Goreng, and a coconut pineapple drink that I can't recall the name of. Everything was really good and I hope to be able to come back soon. :)

Yelp
This place has it all... service, style, and, most importantly, incredibly creative and delicious food. Service: everyone from the hostess team to the servers was warm, and genuinely welcoming. The servers were polished, efficient, and anticipatory, which really is rare outside of Michelin starred restaurants. Our party of 8 1/2 ordered several appetizers: Roti with Curry Chicken Dip, Roti Canai, Satay Beef Skewers, Salt and Pepper Calamari, and Cold Shrimp with Shredded Papaya and Mango. Oohs and ahhhs abounded as we tore through every delicious bite. For entrees, we tried the Award Winning Beef Rendang, Sizzling Beef with Black Pepper, Curry Vegetable Casserole, Snow Pea Tips and Spinach with Garlic, and Pineapple Fried Rice. With the exception of the fried rice (which was vastly under seasoned,) every dish was delicious. Standouts were the Famous Beef - oh so tender and flavorful with a unique spice profile - and the Vegetable Casserole whose textures were meaty and substantial, each bite enrobed in a silky sublime curry sauce. The atmosphere was very cool! The lit signs and dark soaring ceilings lend to an air of dining outdoors on a bustling Malaysian street at night. We were disappointed that there was no dim sum on the menu, but that just gives us a reason to return. And we WILL return.

Yelp
The beef rendang at Phat Eatery in Katy was so delicious! It was filled with spices and flavors that made the beef so satisfying. Also loved the chicken curry roti appetizer- incredible tastes!! Great service, too! Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
This place is a must-try for ethnic food lovers. You can vary the level of spice depending on how adventurous you're feeling. They just opened so the pacing of the service is a little off, but I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out in no time.

Yelp
The food are delicious especially the sizzling tofu, calamares, beef rendang, malasian fried rice. The staffs are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The restaurant ambiance is great as well and the restroom are clean.

Yelp
We have been waiting for this place to open its door and even with the anticipation this place lived up to the hype! Great ambiance, service and eats. I can't wait for them to open the menu up.

Yelp
The dishes were delicious. We started with the Roti Canai and salt & pepper calamari. Both were very good. We ordered 2 noodle dishes. The Mee Goreng and Hokkien Mee. Both noodle dishes were very good. I liked the Mee Goreng a little better but I would order both. We ordered the mango chicken and sizzling beef. Both entrees were very good. The mango chicken was a little spicier. The service was okay. We thought we had a good waiter but he sort of forgot a few things after taking things from the table such as rice, iced tea, and large bottle of water. Not sure if it became too busy for him. We missed out on the dim sum as they were not there on the menu yet. The ambience was very nice. Not too loud for a Saturday night.

Yelp
Food is great! Probably one of my favorite Asian restaurants. Would give 5 stars if its not for the ambience. Don't get me wrong is packed but it has a kind of fast food deco vibe specially in the patio. Service is really nice too. Drinks are good but not great. Go for the food you won't regret it.

Yelp
This is really good food for fusion but not authentic in my opinion. The food had the basic spice flavor but was missing the kick Asian foods usually have. However the Roti Canai was REALLY good- the bread was very flavorful and texture was great. The service was amazing and ambiance was also good vibes and clean. Really like open kitchen concept as well :)

Yelp
Who knew I loved Malaysian street food. Phat Eatery, that's who. Everything we tried was wonderful from the vegan tofu to all the great dishes with just the right amount of meat in them. Thank you, Phat Eatery.

Yelp
Fantastic Food and outstanding service. Loved their sizzling tofu and Beef Rendang and Char Kway Teow noodles. Their triple crown Malaysian go to.
