So much fun for all ages! Great games for kids and adults - arcade games, ax throwing, bar games and outdoor games. Pizza and beer variety never disappoint! Definitely a go-to when visiting Dickinson and my favorite place to hangout in town. Excellent service!

Driving through town on our way out west. Thought we give this a try. The Hefeweizen was delicious as were the appetizers; fried pickles, cheese curds, lemon pepper wings, and pretzel bits with beer cheese. Great place!

Google
Great place! We were there for Tuesday Bingo night, so much fun!! We enjoyed the salad bar for dinner, so can't speak about the pizza, the the salad bar was delightful. The beers were very unique and worth the trip to taste them. Our favorites were the Pronghorn Peach Wheat, and the Orange Dreamsicile IPA. But several others are definitely worth the taste!

Stopped by here on a trip from Iowa to Washington. Gotta say, the logo got me when looking for a place to chill, have a good beer, and something to eat. Right of the bat, they were out of the only IPA they had. (Not sure how that happens when you're a brewery. A bar running out of a keg I get, but a brewery out of a style...?) Ordered cheese curds to start with...OMG, not only we're they great, but they have an enormous amount. (Way too much for us to finish.) The pizza came, Badlands special, and it was awesome. Wanted to get some shirts, but hard a very limited selection. So between being out of any IPA and the novelty bling, I give them 4 stars. But the food was great and the beers were did order were ok.

Google
Wheat peach beer was outstanding. A 10!! Interesting menu. We had Italian Nachos and pork chop sandwich. Very good service. Noisy but that is what we expected at a brewery near a college.

Google
I’ve never been in a combination brewery/restaurant/bingo hall before, and it was a little odd, but I really enjoyed it. In truth, I think I was just there on bingo night, but it was fascinating to see how many of the locals showed up to eat, drink, and play bingo. It’s probably great entertainment in the long winter months! What I went for was the beer, and it was excellent. Several sounded really good, but I opted for the Doubleshot Coffee Stout, a perfect accompaniment to the hearty Phat Fish Nachos I got for dinner. I loved both; it was a great place and a good meal for my one night in town between 2 long days of driving. The building is vast, housing the brewery on one side and the restaurant on the other, so it feels cavernous even when there are a good number of people there. The parking lot is also very large.

Google
Really great pizza! Excellent service and a great beer selection. We try to hit it often. Never a poor meal. Excellent apps. I don't think we have had a single serving here that wasn't really good.

Google
Very cool place. Bold, ambitious craft beer that tasted as good as it sounded. Very friendly and informative staff. Great pizza and games too. Will come again!

Yelp
Atmosphere is fun, open family friendly. Enjoyable flight of beers which included Dill Pickle Wheat (fun combination); Huckleberry Hybrid really cool fruit hint while not overly sweet. Pronghorn Peach Wheat which was well matched with the normal beer flavors. Finally Bluehawk Belgian, though a great beer it was over shadowed by the others and the Mango Habanero. Dinner was a taco salad and taco pizza. Both great! Ask for Grant and sit back and enjoy the meal!

Yelp
Decent brewery in this quiet town -- the brews were interesting, with some dessert style stouts/porters, a few fruity lagers, and a couple of beers with peppers thrown into the mix. I tried an interesting jalapeño honey blonde ale and think they did a fine job executing on this, not letting any one flavor dominate. It has a nice kick, some sweetness, and is overall pretty drinkable. I also had their badlands pizza, apparently their most popular. It was pretty good, they did a decent job with the sauce and the ricotta. The space overall is pretty big, with tables and a few bar seats adjacent to their axe throwing space. Service was good... almost too good. My server seemed eager to get tables to pay their bills despite the place being less than half-full. He would ask to give a check or box things up while folks were still midway through their entree, with full beers in front of them. Love the dedication, but let folks enjoy their time at your business!

Rick H.

Yelp
So, was passing through and saw the billboards advertising the brewery. Being for San Diego, I have sampled their beers from local pubs, etc and was excited to stop in. I found the place to be really nice with a high energy vibe. Lots of parking and even offered parking for RVs to spend the night as a layover space in a big lot. I didn't have lunch but did pick up some cans of beer to go, the IPA and an interesting Habanero infused type beer. The girl who helped me was very nice and charming and the place was busy with many folks having lunch and a pint. I do resolve to return next time I'm in the area and stay a bit longer.

Yelp
Our visit to this place was good. A little understaffed with 2 girls for 16 tables but our waitress was super sweet, we shared a a cheese platter and a pizza with the kids, i tasted a flight of beer and it was not bad.

Tara L.

Yelp
I will start with the positive- I really enjoyed the beer. They had peach, raspberry and huckleberry wheat beers and the peach and raspberry were exceptional. The ambiance was great as well. However, we experienced very poor service from the second we walked in. Our waitress was not attentive in the least- often on her phone near the front counter. We did not get plates with our pizza and when we asked, she went right back to her phone. When I tried to get her attention, she said she was waiting on the beer and then went on talking to another waitress. Then, I really liked their merchandise and went to the counter to pay for my selections. Another girl rang it up, took my card and then quickly hurried away. She didn't even take the hanger off the shirt and I had to grab my own bag.

Yelp
Ta-Da - our Harvest Host for tonight! Easy access off I-94 - huge parking lot & lots of room inside (also outside seating). Service was great - we sat at the bar & had lunch. Food was good followed by a Stout beer - Yum! Inside is like a small warehouse so you don't have to worry about talking too loud - LoL. TV's all over for the sports fanatic - oh & there is also Axe throwing! Pretty cool. Stop on by, you won't be disappointed!

Gregg L.

Yelp
Pizza, beer, wings, mozz sticks, and the location were excellent. My wife liked a phat fish huckleberry beer we bought from badlands national park, so we decided to drop by on our way out from Theodore Roosevelt NP. We tried a fair amount of beers. Favorite was the peach Belgian, but the stouts (PB and coffee) were good. Really liked the passion fruit beer - paired well with rhetorical phat fish rubbed wings. Wings were cooked to perfection - crispy and juicy. We got the badlands pizza on Detroit crust - great meats, aromatic pizza dough, fluffy. Sauce was decent and seemed home made. Mozz sticks were definitely way better than freezer section sticks. Battered, not breaded. Cooked perfectly. Con: would have drank more beer with more frequent check ins at the outdoor patio.

Yelp
Another brewery we really wanted to fall in love with but unfortunately if fell pretty short! Probably a great family spot for many with the axe throwing and space but for us, we go for the brew! Nothing really tripped our trigger, a couple of them even tasted a bit like a floral dish soap! Perhaps the kitchen needs attention? Not sure but the beer just wasn't at all what we like. I understand that's not a reason to lower the rating to just okay so read on for the rest!! Our bartender knew nothing about the brews, literally nothing! We asked about several of them and he had to look them up or worse, told us he had no idea! If our bartender doesn't know, who does?!! We sat at the bar and he smiled right away and gave us menus immediately but that was the end of the quick service! Everything else took forever including our first flight. You see, the bartender is also the axe throwing area guy, he had to leave the bar several times to attend to things going on back there! Then, the keg ran out for one I ordered and he was the one that had to go in the back and change it! So again, another long wait for four little glasses! Just not a good impression! The food is good, nothing great but it was good. We had a sampler platter and the potstickers, didn't try the pizza, that might be where the magic is! All in all, Phat Fish is a super cool place to hang out with friends and the family as kids can run free throughout the entire place, including the outside patio where they can swing on the swing while screeching and inside where they can jump on and off the couches like it's a trampoline park!

Gary B.

Yelp
I sat at the bar -- service was great. Ordered the Italian Salad, and it was Huge! Pretty tasty with lots of pepperoni and sausage. The main negative was their beer selection. I like IPAs and the only one on the menu was a milkshake IPA. Not for me! In fact they didn't have any hoppy beers at all... highest IBU only 20. The place is big -- lots of potential. They seem to cater to families, 2 birthday parties going on while I was there.

Jen T.

Yelp
Great service, fantastic deep dish pizza, with many favorable combinations to choose from and such a stylish restaurant! We found Phat Fish via Harvest Host. We were able to park our RV her overnight, with the request that we spend at least $20 in their business. No problem... not a hard bargain! We tried a beer flight and a couple of pizzas and we have to say, definitely a great place to stop if you either live in the area or driving through. While they are located off the highway a little, it really was not inconvenient and if we are ever in the area again, we will be sure to stop again!

Cynthia V.

Yelp
This was a great spot for a laid-back dinner while in town. You seat yourself and order at the counter. Service was friendly and fast. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs as we ordered their beer cheese nachos and two Detroit-style pizzas. The nachos were massive, easily could have fed a table of 5, and they were piled high with toppings. As for the pizzas, we ordered the Badlands and Grass Eater. These pizzas were thick! Easily 2" tall with pillowy soft crust and deliciously crunchy cheese on the pan edge. My personal favorite was the Grass Eater since it is a alfredo-based pizza, but both were delicious. Check this place out!

Yelp
My recent visit to Phat Fish Brewery in Dickinson, North Dakota, left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the positives: the beer selection was indeed commendable. With a variety of brews to choose from, ranging from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, there was something for every beer enthusiast's palate. Each sip was flavorful and satisfying, showcasing the brewery's dedication to crafting quality beverages. However, my experience was marred by a couple of notable drawbacks. Firstly, the prices were higher than expected. While I understand the value of supporting local businesses and the craftsmanship that goes into brewing artisanal beers, the cost felt somewhat disproportionate to what was offered, especially considering the size of the portions.Secondly, and perhaps more disappointingly, was the issue with the food. I ordered a side of french fries to accompany my brew, but unfortunately, they arrived at the table cold. It was clear that they had been sitting out for some time before being served, which detracted from the overall dining experience.Despite these shortcomings, I must acknowledge the efforts of the staff, who were friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The ambiance of the brewery was also pleasant, with a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that lent itself well to socializing and enjoying a drink with friends. In conclusion, while Phat Fish Brewery offers a nice selection of tasty beers and a welcoming atmosphere, the high prices and subpar food quality detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience. With some improvements in these areas, it has the potential to become a standout destination for both beer aficionados and casual diners alike.

Yelp
Must see when you are here!! It's huge! The beer is so good!! Friendly service and great menu. We only had the sampler app. It was so good but there was a lot so I have to get back there to try the pizza. It looked amazing! There is axe throwing inside too! Check it out!

Larry S.

Yelp
Service is sub par, food was worse then the Service. Ordered appetizers 10-15 minutes before ordering main courses..appetizers showed up after our supper was served...tried to talk to the manager,he was very quiet couldn't hear a word ...will not be back...

Michael M.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, customer service surprised me, a little slow at first but David redeemed the accounts reputation. He is super, very attentive and knowledgeable. Because of him we'll be back. Italian Salad was SUPERB Badlands pizza was good, I would probably order it with thin crust next time, tasty thou.

Patrick F.

Yelp
Definitely NOT impressed. Drinks arrived very late. Pizza arrived uncut. Waitress got us a pizza cutter, which we had to cut ourselves. Pizza flavor was very good, but I cannot recall worse service by the entire staff at any restaurant that I ever been to.

Michael B.

Yelp
Order food (fish tacos) on Sunday and apparently it was ok to replace the fish with boneless chicken wing chunks (chicken nuggets). Called in and was told they were out of fish. Couldn't say that when the order was placed? I would not recommend eating here cuz you never know what you might be served.

Zak H.

Yelp
We as an extended family went here and had 3 pizzas and my daughter had the wings. The pizzas were spot on I enjoyed the Ricotta dollop on the Bad Lands pizza. The crust was excellent the 6 of us easily devoured the pizzas. The only knock I would have is that the wings were overdone. They were good but overdone.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
They had a pretty decent menu of beers; I had the huckleberry hybrid and enjoyed it. We had the Badlands pizza in their thick/Detroit pizza crust which was fantastic! We also had a thin cheese which our kids enjoyed. Someone in our party had the fish and chips which I would avoid at all costs; fries were cold and chewy and the fish resembled dried, overcooked fish sticks. Very friendly staff.

M R.

Yelp
Spicy Rig Hand was one of the best hand pizzas I've ever had. the fries are to die for. There is a HUGE selection of great and creative craft beers. There are daily specials for the whole family and ax throwing, along with loads of other fun actives. I cannot wait to come back for patio season.

Kirk H.

Yelp
The bartenders and servers on the patio were very friendly. The patio servers wrestled with some huge umbrellas to ensure we had some shade. Unfortunately, the food and drink were not up to this standard. We tried six different brews, and never found a single one we thought was very good--they do offer flights, so we didn't drink six full beers. And our pizzas were only so-so. We had both the Detroit-style deep dish and a regular crust. Neither was something good enough to take home the leftovers (and there were plenty).

Bradley P.

Yelp
My family and I ate here last night for my Father's Day dinner. It was such a cool atmosphere! We got the Mac and Cheese nachos as an app. We actually didn't realize they had doritos as the chips until we got it. We were a little skeptical until we took the first bite but then we were in scramble mode as we wanted another bite so bad! They were awesome. Our Detroit style pizza was also great. We got the Badland pizza which was perfectly cooked. I also got a peach beer that ended up being on the house for me since it was Father's Day. That was a great surprise! I highly recommend this place.

mark s.

Yelp
We had a great dinner here last night. Good beer and a welcoming environment on the patio with our dog. The nachos were really exceptional and a large portion. The server thought we wanted those as an appetizer so my wife's entree came out after we were full. Not his mistake - the nachos were great and we were totally happy with our meal.

Debby A.

Yelp
Love this place! Found it through harvest host- they have a big variety of handcrafted brews- try the mango habanero, it's award winning and delicious! Thin crust pizza is excellent. Pinball and other arcade games, axe throwing - great patio, fun place to hangout

Patty D.

Yelp
Pizza is great but beer is eh. No lagers on the beer menu and one IPA. Bartender was not knowledgeable at all about beer and when I said I was looking for something like a lager he suggested a beer that was a sour. Um no. We sat at the bar and watched everyone come up and order Mich Ultra and Busch cans. Yep. Never been to a brewery that sells those. But the pizza was really good so kudos to the cook staff!

Gayle F.

Yelp
Love this place but you close the kitchen way too early we came in with a family of 12 and had beverages and couldn't order pizza because it was after 9 - that's way too early in my opinion, please reconsider this - thank you

Joe F.

Yelp
Not awful, but you won't be impressed. I wanted to try one of their Detroit-style pizzas, but it looked waaaay too big for 1 person, so went with their "sandwiches" instead. I had seen the "sandwiches" online and they looked interesting, so I was excited to try them. Placed an order at 8:30 for a sandwich and a crowler. I asked for a recommendation between the Bakken Taco and the Buffalo Bleu and was told to go with the taco. Had it ready a little after 9 and I headed back to our hotel room to give the food and beer a whirl. Cracked the crowler and it smelled very good, but after pouring I knew it was very flat. It said it was canned on 7-25 (3 days earlier), so it should have had plenty of carbonation, but it was not present at all. I gave it a 3.25 on Untapped (my average is ~3.9) Beer was not great, but I was still excited for the food. Nothing was warm and certainly not hot. I have no idea what took over 30 minutes due to orders ahead, but it certainly wasn't baking the food or using a fryer on the fries (they were, essentially, cold.) The bread, which is kinda like a pizza crust, was good and the actual contents were just ok. Also, it's... odd, that they have "Drink Local" plastered EVERYWHERE (signs, wall art, t-shirts, glasses), yet they are the first craft brewery I've ever come across that sells Bud products. I came here because I was scared away from BW3s based on the Yelp reviews; God only knows how bad that place must be.

Dean B.

Yelp
First time coming to this place and I was thinking it must be a good place to be in since it was packed on a Tuesday night. Awaited 35 minutes for my order and when I looked inside it looks delicious. That all changed when I took my first bite. The crust was hard and it tasted burnt. As I tried to finish the remaining pizza, the more it got difficult to eat the crust. Too hard for my bite. Totally disappointed.

Krystal T.

Yelp
Very very great service! Detroit style pizza was good but not as good as the real thing (we are from Detroit). Beers and sours were fantastic!

Julie H.

Yelp
First of all let me say, I just moved out of Dickinson a year ago and this type of establishment is MUCH needed here. Visiting my son for his bday and decided to come to Phat Fish. He ordered a Captain Morgan & coke, no can do they are out of Captain. He ordered a gin & tonic, NO can do they don't have tonic! There is literally a liquor store across the street. This is not a great way to start my sons bday dinner. Mac & Cheese Nachos are Mac & cheese over Doritos. However, Peanut Butter Whiskey is delicious. The restaurant did give him a "courtesy shot" since they were out of everything else he tried to order. Pizza was different, but tasty. Thick crust has the crusty cheese which was good. Portions on drinks are NOT consistent, but they were quick to make it right. My mother ordered a no cheese pizza, her pizza came out with cheese & ricotta all over it. Took at least 20 mins to make a new personal pizza. This place has a ways to go to as far as food is concerned, but hopefully it will get there. Service was good.

Tyler S.

Yelp
Great pizza. Service is a little understaffed, but they have always been quality. They're open late which is nice, and there's plenty of games and things to do.

McKenzie S.

Yelp
Passing through from outta town.. Not my favorite. The worst service I've ever had, they expect you to keep going up for drinks and food instead of having a server. We had a huge group and not once did someone check on us. When we went to check out they ran my card at the beginning and then couldn't find it so asked for my Order number... food was decent but greasy. Just think you could find better. Front desk girl had a bad attitude.

Sheryl W.

Yelp
We were on the road traveling all day. When we came into Dickinson we had NO idea where to go to unwind and get a drink and good food. We found Phat Fish Brewery and WOW what a hit! We loved everything about it! A great way to end a long day on the road! Thank you!

Joseph R.

Yelp
I'm a Pizza fanatic, and there have only been two times in my life where I've got a pizza and stopped eating because I didn't like it. Don't come here. Go anywhere else. That picture is what the pizza looked like. Completely inedbile.

Big Daddy Mav K.

Yelp
Visited Saturday April 9th. Not the greatest tonight. Very loud with kids running around screaming, pizza was burnt on the bottom and barely cooked on top onions were very very strong and they served packets of salad dressing vs their homemade dressing, which is good. Just not that great tonight. Usually they are good. Probably won't be back for a while. Disappointed.

Private C.

Yelp
Very clean and trendy. Stumbled in on Bingo Tuesday and I won! Ax throwing and outside eating are available.

Billie M.

Yelp
Phat Fish is our go to restaurant for meeting friends for dinner and drinks. The sampler is plenty of food for 3-4 people and the beer flights are tasty. You place your order at the front and the food is delivered to your table fairly quickly. We can't wait to enjoy drinks on the patio now that the weather is warming up! For those who like activities, there is also axe throwing available. You can reserve time slots on the website and the cost is $15 an hour per person. Also, keep an eye out for live music and dueling pianos every once in a while.

Kathy M.

Yelp
We are vacationing in the area and love to visit breweries. We have a dog, so always love when a brewery is dog friendly! We absolutely love the patio at this brewery! The staff is very friendly and we ordered the suggested pizza "Honey Sriracha Chicken". It was delicious and we enjoyed the beer! Thank you for a relaxing afternoon!!!

Tim M.

Yelp
Quick stop on our road trip. Ordered the daily pizza special, the Spicy Rig Hand, Detroit style. Amazing deep dish pizza for the amazing price of $10! Plan to stop again for sandwiches on the way home. Order at the counter, seat yourself. Fast, friendly service. Pizza was excellent!

Lorna T.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful dinner outside in the patio. Watched the kids play. Are delicious pizza, wine and beer. Would go back again for great service, food and atmosphere.

Ken S.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere. It's a converted industrial space of some kind. Excellent brews on tap. And the pizzas... OMG. They got that dialed in. Truly the best pizza in town. Hands down. The menu could use a little expansion... burgers or something. But still, this place is key.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
If you are in Dickinson, ND, stop by Phat Fish Brewing. We have been to A LOT of breweries and, I have to say, this is my favorite. Most breweries have something unique; good beer but no food, good food but mediocre beer, good service, good venue...etc. This brewery has it all! We tried all their beers and they were amazing. We ate THREE meals there and everything was extraordinary! Their sauces and doughs were all made in-house. Wings were crispy outside and juicy inside, not too spicy but VERY flavorful. Pizza was crazy good. Pat and I both had sandwiches for lunch today and they were both unique and excellent. They also have chips made in-house! I was so excited to see that. Since we were there early yesterday for lunch and then came back in for dinner, spent the night in the lot and then back in for lunch today, we got to experience several shift changes. ALL the staff that we interacted with were spot on with customer service and friendly. The venue is clean and comfortable. AND to top all this off, they have some games set up AND a separate space for axe throwing! How fun is that? Had I noticed that last night, Pat and I would have been axe throwing.

Rafael G.

Yelp
What a shame. The place promised. It looks nice. The hostess was gracious. But the food I ordered was just horrible, and the beer mediocre. I ordered their very expensive Fried Pork Chop Sandwich. The so called "pork chop" was covered in a way-too-thick, very greasy batter that I just had to take out if I wanted to survive the ordeal. The bread was stale, and the accompanying fries were just inedible: frozen fries that had been either sitting in the rack for hours or cooked with lukewarm oil. In any case, I had to leave them all after trying just one. And the beer I ordered was really poor. It lacked body, barely had any fizzle (sitting there for too longto?) and a poorly developed flavor. Overall, a dismal experience.

Maci C.

Yelp
it took almost 3 hours for us to get our food. it was not a good service because we had to get our know to go box's, re fills on our drinks, and we had to get our own silverware

Marie B.

Yelp
Went here for a growler of beer. Staff was nice. The bartender let us try a sample of two possible choices that we might get of our liking. Both tasted alright but seemed water down. $15.98 for a refill way too much for lack of robust flavor.

Merrilee K.

Yelp
Pizza was like a sponge was like foccocia bread. The Margherite pizza tasted chemically due to the bottled garlic used. No fresh basil on it just sprinkled seasoning. Step son had the mac and cheese pizza and had red and green peppers so kinda spicy and tasted like cheap cheese. Boyfriend had taco pizza which was the only good one of the three. Had a pretzel for appetizer. Just a cheap frozen pretzel with cheap dip that tasted like nacho cheese out of a can. Would not return. Definitely not worth the money. Dominoes is much better pizza and way cheaper.

Melissa P.

Yelp
The pizza is so bad! The thin crust seems to be frozen as it is chewy and hard to eat. I ordered a Margherita, basically garlic oil with cheese and maybe 1/4 of tomato for the whole pizza... no basil. The badlands is just horrible, the tomato sauce is on top of the pizza with a bit of ricotta cheese, all you can taste is tomato sauce out of a jar (not good at all) The wings are actually really good, and the atmosphere is great. They should definitely look at improving their pizzas though...

Kirk H.

Yelp
Good vibes, industrial decor, neat concept, nice outdoor seating, beer is slightly water down, like drinking pop with all the ice melted in it, $6. Pizza, oh boy the pizza, we ordered the taco pizza, the crust was really hard and dense, definitely made by an amateur, keep practicing ...toppings were good, not outstanding. I really want this place to success, Dickinson needs a vibrant food scene the pizza chef needs to go study how to make a decent pizza. Now I have to update my review, the Detroit crust with honey jalapeño topping is pretty good, and no extra charge for the crust!

C J.

Yelp
Beer selection was a 5, food was a 3, so we'll give it a 4. Nice place, very roomy, good for families.
