Phayawi Restaurante

Great place to get high quality Bolivian food. I had the best peanut soup ever, the chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream was so good! Also the juices (linaza juice) and cocktails (one with Tumbo) were amazing. Worth to mention that the service was fast and effective, and the restaurant has a nice design with a salt wall.

I visited Phayawi twice. The first time I didn’t like the food at all (we had fricase and picante de lengua and both were quite heavy and condimented). Then I decided to give it a second chance and to try different dishes - seeing that the restaurant is so popular. I had a group of 4 people and we ordered queso humacha, sajta de pollo, sopa de mani and picante mixto. None of my friends could finish it as it was too salty. Restaurant was packed full so we skipped dessert and left. However, I want to leave a comment - as I feel there are so many other options where to eat local food in La Paz that are better in terms of flavor and price range. Lastly, staff were lovely and attentive. The place is welcoming and comfortable.

We went to eat and ordered a soup, a saice and another dish. The food was good but not special. The saice missed to have flavor. The ambience was excellent. Good music and very nicely decorated. The service was ok but chaotic in the end. Good potential.

I can confidently say that this restaurant and its young lovely talent chief deserves high praise for their authentic cuisine and excellent service. From their signature dishes to their warm hospitality, I love them all. I highly recommend checking out this culinary gem and experiencing Bolivia's rich flavors for yourself.

As a Bolivian this has been one of the worst restaurants I have eaten. The food was overpriced for the size and ingredients used on the dishes. For 140 bs you can eat at least 3 of these typical dishes in any other place. (With better seasoning btw). This place targets mostly tourists who are unaware of the delicacies you can find in La Paz. However the restaurant is very pretty if you like aesthetics. They also sell top tier alcoholic drinks. If you want a pretty place for instagram 10/10 if you want good food maybe other place.

This place is a gem. Food is fantastic authentic Bolivian food. With a great service. Marcos was extremely helpful and went out of his way to accommodate me when I don’t speak Spanish. I would highly recommend it

Great restaurant! The food is very good, they serve the classic recipes of traditional bolivian dishes. No experimental deconstructions that can be a hit or miss here, only true and tested options, just like bolivian grandmas would cook. The service is also remarkable, all the staff is very helpful and friendly. I was doubting about ordering the Fricasé with mild or strong spice, and the waiter offered to have me test the broth to make a better desition, this was very helpful and a nice detail. The ambiance is quite nice and comfortable, as is the folclore music. Can't recommend enough!

I loved the atmosphere, I happy to see more places like this in La Paz. Service was great and of course food was excellent, you have to try the sautéed onions in the Lomo and those ispis.
