15 Best U.S. Airports for Finding Cheap Flights

"As a hub for American Airlines with additional service from low‑cost carriers Frontier, Spirit, and Southwest, this Philadelphia airport sees airfare pressure from both the legacy and budget carriers—producing a lower average seat price ($471.90) and frequent sales to watch for from American." - Stefanie Waldek Stefanie Waldek Stefanie Waldek is a space, travel, and design journalist with expertise in aviation, meteorology, and polar regions. Best Spots to Dine at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) - Eater Philly

"Despite repeatedly ranking in last place among large airports based on an annual survey of customer satisfaction, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) has some above-average dining options to ease the stress of flying. Some of the top spots — including a restaurant from celebrity chef Michael Symon and one of Philly’s favorite sandwich shops, Jim’s South St. Famous Cheesesteaks — even offer online ordering." - Ernest Owens

Google
Only my second time flying out of PHL and found it to be very easy to navigate. Lots of eating and shopping. Great options if you are looking at killing some time while waiting for a flight. Check in was good and security lines were not long. It is one heck of a hike from one end to the other. The moving walkways (very few by the way) were partially inop. It would be a great added benifits if they had those to speed up the commute from each terminal.

Girija D.

Google
It’s pretty good. It was crowded during peak day hours and not much in the past 6 pm. There decent options to eat and lot of space to move around. Rest rooms were cleanly maintained, fountain water available. Some of the charging plugs near seating area was not working. However, you could easily find an alternate spot. Loved the wooden rocking chairs. There is a spot near terminal A to relax in the bamboo chair if you have a long haul and calm down a bit if it’s noisy around.

Google
Good experiences traveling through Philly airport on my way home Europe. Ease of transfer from one terminal to the next, via bus bus ok, was acceptable. International terminal with BA was comfortable with plenty of seating. Coffee shop, snack place close by....way too expensive, more than other similar airports for what they offer. The Lego liberty bell close by is a great spot for selfies.

Max V.

Google
Easy to navigate through PHL Airport, clean, and efficient. Security moved quickly, and there were plenty of food and shopping options. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a smooth and pleasant airport experience!

Michael J. B.

Google
Overall a very clean airport and I can’t fault the airport for the stupidity of airlines making you run from one terminal to the next. Just remember best food and shops are in the main terminal. This is a layover airport for me so I don’t know of parking or security lines.

Google
Philadelphia Airport has always been a reliable airport. Customers service and vendor options have been improved a lot over the past couple years and TSA has always been significantly fast compared to other major airports across the US. Rankings and reviews are often lower due to connecting passengers on American, but most residents in this region voice their preference for Philly over New York airports. Keep an open mind, follow the signs, and grab something to eat! If you’re connecting - give yourself a relaxed layover. Don’t hate the airport because of the tight flights you booked. Excited for the future and rebrand!

Naomi S.

Google
The airport moves you along pretty smoothly. The signs let you know updates about your flight. It is kept pretty clean but the bathrooms se very old and the airport needs updating. They keep it very warm which is not pleasant after a long flight. The people are helpful and they have some cute shops to go shopping if your flight is delayed.

Google
At Philadelphia International Airport, Terminal A rolls out the welcome mat with shiny floors and a “look at me” vibe. By the time you hit Terminal B and C, you are in the busy-but-getting-there stage. Terminal D reminds you of that slightly tired uncle who is still fun but definitely past his prime, Terminal E is where the budget flight fans hang out and where the decor screams “we don’t have much, but we care!“ … and Terminal F? Don’t even ask 😃

Yelp
I think the architect who designed the airport was going for a rugged minimalist look, but instead drew an airport that looks like a bomb shelter. Anyway - it's perfectly acceptable - even if it's a little cold and uninviting. There are shops and restaurants. The bathrooms are fine. Plug ins are available, but you have to look for them. I wish there was more space, but what can you do? I like that the train that takes you to City Center is connected to the terminals. That's convenient. I wish TSA was properly staffed, but I didn't have to wait too long. It's nothing amazing and that's fine. I was able to get around and get where I needed to go.

Yelp
Pretty big airport, very crowded. I like the personal touch with the posters of the movies shot in Philadelphia (LAX should do the same, since it's .... Hollywood!!!). I didn't like the other travelers who started to get annoyed with us and say things when we stopped to take the photos (we did it slowly and with consideration for others). Folks were rude for no good reason. Some eateries, but pricey, food court included. Not enough seating at gates! Just a few seats, not enough! Restrooms - they renovating some so a few there were closed. Lots of walking from gate to restrooms, longer than in any other airport. Also, the restrooms were dirty! Overall, it can be improved big time!

Yelp
It's weird. The airports I like have bad ratings and the airports I hate (ATL) have decent ones. Philly isn't huge, so it's easily navigable and I've never had any issues here really. The Chase Sapphire lounge here is absolutely amazing - even better than the one at JFK because you can get a free facial. I don't tend to have too many issues with delays here and bags are usually pretty quick here too. Overall I think it's a good airport.

Yelp
This airport is still a mess! I flew in and out of it a lot on the early 90's and now I've been flying back to it since 2018. I've flown American and Delta here and I know it's an American hub. Still, delta's agents at checkin were incompetent and the agents at the gate were overwhelmed. The Delta Lounge does NOT have bathrooms due to renovations. Speaking of, when will this airport ever be functional ? I can't stand the food offerings, the seats, nothing! Ugh!
google avatar

Yelp
I was excited to be in the city or brotherly love yet this was the worst customs experience I've ever had. They had way too many customers with far too little lanes open to accommodate. I have global entry and it felt no different than the non global entry line. They had 1 officer assisting. After standing in line for about 25 minutes I was told to return to the main line no reason provided. I told the officer i have global entry and offered to show my card he did not care. I waa thankful to another employee who helped me with MPC. Recording bags for my next flight was easy. This airport had some charm but still in need of an upgrade in customer service decor and charging stations.

Yelp
Within the last two weeks, I flew out to Philadelphia for my third layover in the past year en route to another nearby city. It was to visit family, and I typically fly American Airlines, so I find myself regularly traveling from the B or C gates over to the F gates (or back depending on which way I am traveling). With an exception of one day last year where I was stranded for the night in Philadelphia due to flight cancellations, I have always had a very positive experience at the PHL airport. After all, the slogan of the Philadelphia International Airport is "Good things start here." Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status, most of which I was able to enjoy during my PHL visits. When checking in (during my rare travels where I start a journey in Philadelphia), I was able to skip the check-in area if I didn't need to check bags (as I checked in online) on one of my trips, and then this most recent time, I checked in at the priority area for assistance and checking bags. I then went and used Global Entry and CLEAR to skip most of the line at Security while keeping my shoes on (thanks to an American Express Platinum card which comes with credits for both). If I start off at a certain terminal (like F, I believe), they won't have CLEAR but should have Pre-Check. The airline lounges in Philadelphia are plentiful as there are four Admirals Clubs, a Centurion Lounge (AMEX Platinum), Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, Minute Suites, Delta SkyClub, and United Club among several other lounges. I often have two hours for a layover, which is enough time to visit the Centurion Lounge (Terminal A) and an Admirals Club (Terminal F). I also found that it was easy to navigate the car rental area from leaving baggage claim and making it up to the car rental check in, but that typically involves taking a shuttle. They also have an art exhibition at the airport along with more than 170 shops, restaurants, and services. You can go to https://www.phlfoodandshops.com/deals/ in advance for some promotions and deals at these locations. All in all, it's a great airport and one I do not have an issue with a layover here and there.

Yelp
recently visited Philadelphia airport. Only showing a photo taking flight. Wish there was more seats in a cramped up airport. But nonetheless a great experience
google avatar

Lori A.

Yelp
The airport was fast for American Airlines check in as well as pre check tsa, they don't mess around. I can tell Philly hustles harder which I appreciated not having to wait. One of the fastest check ins and security I have had.

Yelp
The Philadelphia International Airport offers several airlines that have hundreds of daily departures to countries around the world and serve tens of millions of passengers per year. Recently, my husband and I had a connecting flight in this airport. After we deboarded our arriving plane, we went through immigration, baggage claim, and customs. For our connecting flight, we rechecked our bags, and the we went through TSA before finding our gate. Along the way, we found a restaurant so we could purchase a beverage. My husband commented to me that this airport in Philadelphia looks nicer than our airport in Pittsburgh. We had a wait in our gate and then on our plane before the pilots finally took off.
google avatar

Ricarta C.

Yelp
This is a nice airport. Very clean and convenient with several stores and restaurant options while traveling. Gates have friendly employees but the TSA agents are so rude and pushy especially with families. I travel a lot and they seemed to be the worst as far as friendliness and attitude. Bathrooms at this airport as super clean and well stocked. I loved that the air port shuttles and drop off were easy.
google avatar

Glen M.

Yelp
Outdated signs direct you to permanently closed lounges, gates are old fashioned, only one TV per gate so no live updates on standby or upgrade status... But, planes land and takeoff so I guess it's still functional. Enjoy!
google avatar

karina k.

Yelp
I love it bc the train SEPTA is right at Terminal E and you are directly linked to the train to go downtown and other stops and it's only 20 min to center city and 30th street station at $8.75. Otherwise the food scene at the airport is good! I don't have many complaints. I just think it would be nice to have more updated gates with charging stations. But they are in construction so I am sure it's coming. Nice airport. It also has lockers.
google avatar

Corynn B.

Yelp
This is one of the worst airports I've ever been in. It's in desperate need of an aesthetic update, but more importantly it needs a significant expansion just to accommodate the sheer volume of people who come through here. The halls are so small and crowded, everyone is packed like sardines walking from gate to gate and terminal to terminal. The gates themselves are tiny too, with not even nearly enough seating to accommodate the number of people who are waiting. I got to my gate significantly early and all the limited seating was already taken. I had to sit in the neighboring gate, but each gate is sectioned off so I couldn't even see or hear my gate even though it was right next to where I was located. The gate seating was also freezing cold, with the air conditioning blasting. Several people around me were complaining about the temperature. Hopefully this airport will eventually expand to accommodate the sheer volume of people who come through here on a daily basis.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
The best thing I can say about my PHL experience is that during a very hot summer day, the air-conditioning was working well in Terminal A. The Lego Liberty Bell is a nice way to mark the spot in a selfie (see my photo). Other than that, it was crowded, even the lounge past the comfortably crowded point, security lines long and somewhat chaotic. But they managed to get us through to our destination safely and on time. In the end, that's what counts the most.
google avatar

Vijay C.

Yelp
This airport is amazing, at least compared to LAX. Getting into it and out of it was so easy and fluid. All the terminals are located next to each other, so you don't have to deal with any trams or long exchanges. They are undergoing even more construction to make it better but the best addition was the Chase reserve lounge between terminals D/E, that was a lovely experience. Going through security was the only negative. A couple of the employees def had a bit of sass to them that was unnecessary.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
One of the coolest airports I've been too. The admiral club was epic and the food selections in the American terminal was ridiculous. Cheesesteaks, oysters they have it all. I'm a fan.
google avatar

Lanasha R.

Yelp
First time at PHL and I loved the local art installations they had in terminal B. The airport was clean and they have so many shops available. I usually will opt to walk to my gate for a connection, but I didn't realize the Philly airport was so huge. Their air train operations run really well and thankfully, I was able to hop on the one headed to terminal B! Terminal B was really cool and as a music lover, I really appreciated their recognition of Philly artists and music history. The Dejeonge Reese installation featuring braiding hair turned into face masks was very eye catching, bright, and SO creative. I love the community representation!
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
Can't hate PHL! (Just kidding I'm sure some of the flyers and travellers in these reviews have terrible things to say about it). In my five or six times traveling out of PHL, I've had no issues with respect to TSA or flight delays. Very smooth experiences with Frontier and American Airlines over the last few years. The pickup and drop off locations for Uber and also loading are pretty confusing to find though, so i would caution anyone coming to pick up a loved one to really make sure that you know where you are going before you end up having to circle around 2-3 times not knowing where on earth the arrivals are.
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
Signage at the terminals are great but not at the lower transportation level. Signage will be above you, not at eye level. Also, this airport is not clean.
google avatar

D. K. C.

Yelp
Ok! Lets talk the airport. I swear to you, PHL is like two different experiences... Let me explain. The Arrival: Arriving to PHL from Atlanta was cool. The gate was clean and all of the staff had smiles on their faces. As I made my way to baggage claim, I was able to stay the course as PHL provides ample signage so you can't get lost. Making my way around the bend, I stopped into the restroom and it was well maintained and the hospitality cleaners were close by with fully stocked carts. Once at baggage claim, my luggage was already on the belt so I was able to literally grab and go! As I obtained my bag, I looked around to see how to get to the shared ride pickup area and boom! Yet again PHL had ample signage that told me where to go. Special shout out to whomever it was that understood the assignment that there is no such thing as too many signs. My anxiety did not increase at all because this was a job well done. As I walked to the ride share area, I booked my ride and it was such a smooth process. The options within the Uber app were in direct alignment with the way PHL has the pick-up area strictured. The Color, Letter, and Number function was super easy to understand and made my pick-up an easy process without incident. Now, as it relates to the ambiance, walking the hallways from the gate to the ride share was bland. There was nothing bad, but it was boringgggggg. No vibrant colors, nothing that catches the eye, nothing to engage with. Just walls and floor. LoL! I guess Atlanta just has me spoiled. The Departure: Departing from PHL was a smooth process as well. Again, this signage made my route to check-in very easy. I checked in, dropped my bag, and was on my way to TSA. Once at TSA, the TSA Agents were very pleasant. No one had an attitude and they thanked you for your patience. Bonus points for the free above standard service. As I finished getting through security I was able to really see PHL shine. The hallways were vibrant and full of shops and OHL related sports memorabilia and historic images. As I had some time to get to my gate, I decided to walk slow since there was something to look at and really take it all in. I love the decor and setup of Terminal E. Terminal E is bright and inviting. The shop and food options allow for anyone to engage as there is a nice variety of options. Not only are the shops and restaurant options good, there are these super comfy leather chairs that line the hallway that allow you to just have a seat and get a moment to yourself. I decided to take a seat, pull my laptop out and get some work done before heading to my gate. The cleanliness of the airport remained as every single area was spotless. Whoever PHL has for a cleaning crew needs a Platinum Star as they are AMAZINGGGGGG! I didn't even see a piece of dust. As you can see from my details, my departure was a vibrant experience in comparison to my arrival. LoL! All in All, thank you PHL for providing a safe space for my travel convenience.

Yelp
Philadelphia International Airport is not beautiful. It does not sparkle. It does not smell like lavender or efficiency. It is, by most aesthetic and sensory measures, a dingy place. The carpets are tired. The walls are beige in a way that feels philosophical. The restrooms sometimes feel like they've lost hope. Everyone working here seems vaguely mad at you. The person selling you a soft pretzel, the TSA agent patting your ankles, the gate agent announcing your delayed flight with all the enthusiasm of a funeral director. Most people aren't rude exactly. They just radiate the kind of low-grade hostility you normally only find at post offices and jury duty. The baggage claim deserves its own eulogy. I have never once received my luggage here in what I would call a "reasonable" amount of time. I once timed it at 37 minutes. That's long enough to grow weary of yourself and all your choices. I fly out of PHL frequently. I keep doing it. I eschew EWR to do so despite it being equidistant to me. And there's a reason. Several, actually. It is easy to get to. You can park on-site, off-site, in a garage, in a lot, or possibly in someone's backyard in Essington for five bucks if you ask nicely. The airport is surprisingly easy to navigate. If you know your terminal letter, you're going to be fine. No one is going to ask you to ride a monorail or solve a riddle to get to your gate. There are dining options open even when the sun is confused about what time it is. You want a burger at 6 AM? You can get a burger at 6 AM. You want something healthy? Good luck, but you can probably cobble something together with a little effort and low expectations. There is even a bus. A real, honest-to-goodness airside shuttle that will drive you from Terminal A to Terminal C to Terminal E, saving you from a long hike beneath fluorescent lights while dragging a suitcase with a wobbly wheel. That feels like kindness. PHL is not a luxurious experience. It is not an Instagrammable airport. It is a place that works hard and yells at you while doing it. It is, in short, the perfect metaphor for Philadelphia itself. Gritty. No-nonsense. Probably overdue for a renovation. But reliable, strangely proud, and surprisingly functional if you meet it on its terms. Three stars. Not because it dazzles. But because it shows up.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
Nice airport, very efficient. I also like how organized it was and traffic flowed pretty quickly.
google avatar

Don L.

Yelp
PHL: Gritty, Busy, Surprisingly Charming (Sometimes) Philadelphia International Airport is... well, it's Philly. A little rough around the edges, sometimes chaotic, but full of character and weirdly functional once you get used to it. Is it the flashiest airport? Nope. Is it the most efficient? Depends on the terminal and the mood of the day. But it does get the job done, and if you give it a chance, there are some gems hidden in the mix. Pros: Terminal A-West is actually pretty modern, with high ceilings, decent food options, and a much more relaxed feel than some of the other terminals. Local food wins -- you can get a legit cheesesteak, Federal Donuts, or Chickie's & Pete's crab fries before your flight, which is honestly a power move. Layout is walkable if you're willing -- you can get between most terminals without re-clearing security, which is a huge plus. TSA PreCheck and CLEAR lines usually move faster than you'd expect. Cons: Delays and gate changes are kind of a way of life here, especially in bad weather. Some terminals (especially C and D) feel a little tired and cramped. Bathrooms can be hit or miss depending on the hour and the crowd. If you're connecting from a small regional airline to international, bring sneakers -- it's a hike. Pro tip: If you have a long layover, there's a surprisingly peaceful art exhibit tucked into some of the hallways, and the airport Wi-Fi is better than expected. At the end of the day, PHL is a working-class airport for a working-class city. It's not fancy, but it's got heart -- and some solid snacks.
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
Airports are well, airports. Been a hot minute since being here and man, this place is massive. 2 hr layover allowed for a long walk to all terminals....grab a bite to eat and then off on the next leg.
google avatar

Corey H.

Yelp
This airport is in need of a makeover. It is extremely dated. On my last trip there were flooded bathrooms that looked to be avoided by cleaning staff. The TSA prioritized the standard line over TSA pre-check, so the pre-check line took much longer than the standard line making it pointless to have pre-check. The TSA here also did not have any sense of urgency so the lines move at a snail's pace even with a shorter line queued. I have had delayed or canceled flights at a much higher rate at PHL than I've had at any other airport. I see the airport has planned updates. Hopefully significant improvements are made for this airport to be up to par.
google avatar

Vivian R.

Yelp
I've flown into and out of the Philly airport many times. It is a very average airport, normally getting through security is quick though! When we landed the last time, we had to wait over 30 minutes for the bags to start coming out, which was super long! This is the closest airport to us so we will continue flying in and out here.
google avatar

Monica H.

Yelp
PHL is a pretty cool airport if you just take the time to look around you. This airport is filled with contemporary artwork & Music history everywhere you go. At one point, I really felt like I was walking around a modern museum. I arrived at PHL on an International flight and had a connecting flight. Going through Immigration & Customs was fast and easy; it only took roughly 10 minutes. Shortly after, I was on my way to baggage claim to collect my luggage. Once I had my luggage, I then had to check my luggage back in for my connection flight home. PHL has really streamlined this process so it was easy and quick. Directional signs are clearly marked and friendly staff is there to help along the way. After checking my luggage for my connecting flight, I then had to go through TSA Security. This is a must if you are entering the country on an international flight and have a connection flight. As for the airport, there are a variety of shops, restaurants, fast food, and more to keep you busy and fill your belly if needed. There was minimal seating at the gate, so a good bit of us had to stand as we waited to board. I didn't mind standing because I had a 5.5hr flight ahead of me and wanted to keep stretching my legs, however, some elderly people had nowhere to sit as we all know these young folks these days refuse to give up their seats for those people who really need to sit. I digress... I found the area around the gate to be clean, modern and well lit. I would've given PHL 5 stars, however, I feel the restrooms really needed to be cleaned. Not sure if I arrived during a busy time, but several toilets weren't clean and a couple stalls had no toilet paper. Overall, my 3hr layover was a good one and I'd be totally cool if I ended up here again anytime in the future. Recommended!
google avatar

Teri S.

Yelp
Another late night trip waiting 40+ minutes for my luggage at baggage claim. Why does this take so long here? At least the bathroom was clean. For once.
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
I could be biased because it's my first time here but overall my experience has been pretty pleasant. From the workers at the check in for Air Canada to the TSA workers, I didn't get to my boarding gate feeling stressed or overstimulated. This could also be due to the time of day/day of the week we went. Besides that it's your standard airport. I experienced both the bathrooms at the chase sapphire lounge and the bathrooms in the airport. Biased with the lounge as these bathrooms were clean and spacious. Can't say the same about the bathrooms in the airport. They were pretty dirty.
google avatar

Allyson M.

Yelp
My favorite airport, but I'm bias. It's always easy to glow through and navigate. They are always improving. Love the cell phone lot, however you are able to pickup and drop off curbside. American and United are the major commercial airlines.
google avatar

Karin S.

Yelp
Standing at number 3. Empty bus comes along and I put my arm up to let them know I need a ride. You drive right by without even a glance. Wonderful at 10:00 pm I'll go back to Parking Spot. Thank you very much
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
The Philly airport is definitely a mixed bag. It's old and you can tell their terminals have seen better days. The layout is super annoying and you'll definitely get your steps in. On the positive side, you have access to really great ding options, I'd say better than most US airports.
google avatar

Shawn T.

Yelp
Nice airport. Abundant shopping, stores, and ways to pass time during long connections. Delightful to see the exhibitions of Philadelphia history throughout!
google avatar

Quy M.

Yelp
We flew American Airlines so we basically had to stop here twice. This airport does not have any priority pass lounges, which although not a deal breaker, kind of sucked. American Airlines sucks, but that doesn't have anything to do with the rating for this airport specifically. The food court had some limited, overpriced options. At least there's a decent amount of seating. We had to take a bus to get to the international gates. Otherwise it would have been a 15, or 20 minute walk, maybe. The international area was in total disarray. One of the moving walkway was broken. Men's restroom was disgusting. Two of them at least. There were a few times an alarm which sounded like a fire alarm would go off, but only at certain gates. Business as usual. No announcement was made. I'm going to try to avoid connecting here in the future if possible.
google avatar

Katherine A.

Yelp
This is an interesting airport with significant and interesting art throughout the terminals (at least Terminal A had lots of beautiful art and places to sit and watch the planes. Some exhibits of local history including musical and theater history throughout walk areas. The terminals are relatively new and spacious with lots of restaurants. On the main concourse, there are dozens of shops to grab you attention if you have a layover. There are multiple information booths throughout the airport and the staff is friendly and helpful. On the downside, the layout is linear and I landed in A and had to go to F. It was a long, long walk through congested areas, but I was able to find the shuttle after C to get to F. Maneuvering would have been challenging with a tight connection. The restrooms were inadequately small and there was always a line to get in. Many of the power stations in the terminal seating were broken or did not work. So, while I liked the art in Terminal A and choice of eateries, the functionality of the airport left me disappointed.

Yelp
Arriving here was fine, and they actually have a really well marked path to the ride share area and it was easy getting a Lyft. Leaving was much worse. Really long lines to get through security. Terminal E was really bad. The water fountain took forever to dispense water. The bathrooms were dirty. Not the best airport I've ever visited.

Yelp
An airport is an airport but I have nothing bad to say about this one and I came on Spirit lol. Lots of food options in this airport. I had a delayed flight and had to sleep on the floor type of moment but things were calm here and staff was great accommodating people. I love the easy transportation system here. The train comes every 15 to 30 minutes and it takes you straight into the Center City, hospitals, universities and main stops in Philadelphia.

Yelp
I flew in and out of this airport recently. What I can say about this airport is that if you have a carryon bag and are trying to catch a train, you can literally leave the plane and be on the train in 5 minutes! There was a long line for luggage at the baggage claim nor was there any signage about where the ride share area was at. After getting my ride share, I was out and about for a week. Coming back to the airport was easy. Going through Bags, wait times at TSA, checking out various stores at the airport and seeing what they offered were average but very overpriced like any other airport facility. Overall my experience at Philidelphia international airport was average.

Yelp
I don't know if it's when we came or the terminal we came in through, but... I liked this airport. When we recently visited at least, it was clean, it was spacious, there was plenty of place to sprawl out at gates where no flights were leaving from, there was a cute selfie spot (although I spent enough time there that I attracted the attention of security), the staff seemed friendly enough, we had no problem finding places to fill our water bottle-up (not sure what that other reviewer is talking about), going through TSA was easy enough, and it wasn't crowded at all (... but I'm used to the foot traffic and chaos of JFK or Heathrow, so perspective I guess?). We had so much time here that we walked the entirety of Terminal A, B, and C. All your basics available: Hudson News, Dunkin/La Combe/Starbucks for your coffee fix, some shopping options for your last minute Philly merch needs, and quite a few places to get nibbles. Vegan friends: a) Currito Burrito is a build-your-own burrito and bowl place with organic tofu as a protein option; b) Dunkin has hashbrowns; c) Brugger's has bagels you could top with hummus and fresh veggies; d) Chickie's & Pete's has crabfires (ask for no sauce) and it's a staple food you gotta eat when in Philly; e) one of the sit-down restaurants was offering a vegan seitan-based cheesesteak too, but I can't remember which place it was. Enjoy!

Yelp
Great airport. Lots of public art in terminal A. We have an evening flight and will not arrive for at least 15 hours from now ugh. hopefully we'll get some rest in between now and landing.

Yelp
Im having a hard time writing a review for this airport. I've been in many and I think this could easily be the most forgettable one of them all. Nothing really stood out. It was clean but not spotless. It was well lit but not blinding. The signs were pretty straight forward and hung from the ceiling. I didn't go through security here, only landed. But there is a lot of connections to the northeast which makes it a perfect location to get in and out to more smaller airports and cities while also being a hub for international flights. Tons of eatery options to choose from. And they are in the middle of the gates. So you might see the terminal look like A1, A2, restaurants, A3, A4 etc. Baggage was there rather quickly. It helps that it was 630am and only a handful of flights landed. The walk to the baggage claim isn't far. There's a shuttle in between terminals if you're flying into one and have to get to another gate that's further away. Leaving the airport was a breeze. Plenty of staff around to direct you on where to go. One side of the building is for ride apps, taxis, and limos, the other side of the building is for shuttles and rental car, and your other option is to take public transportation called SEPTA. Which has a handful of stops. Train runs every 30 minutes. 11 minutes and 41 minutes after the hour. Itll take about 30 minutes to get to the city center.

Yelp
Being in NJ , we have few different options to fly to other cities - EWR , JFK , LAG and then PHL ! We generally fly from EwR but Philly has some good offers . We get really cheap flights from Philly and choose this airport over others . Nice parking facilities inside and outside the airport .. TSA pre check was so fast . Never seen going through security in 2-5 mins ! All other airports it takes 10-30 mins depending on the crowd . It was easy to navigate to the terminals . Flights were on time . It's just 70-80 miles away from NJ . Saw Dunkin and other shops before boarding flight . Liked it overall . Good experience..

Yelp
This was my second time in Philly's airport. Thankfully, it wasn't as big as others I've been to. I stopped and got a smoothie for breakfast then waited on my plane to board. Despite already being pretty full of people, the place was pretty clean. There was someone in the bathroom wiping the sinks down and refilling toilet paper every few minutes. This was a pretty run of the mill airport experience.

Yelp
Stay clear during bad weather. They use the excuse to shut down the luggage ramps. Light rain at best and and they are holding all the passengers- like hundreds of people's cases and not giving it to them. With no sign or reason as to why or for how long.

Yelp
As many times I have been through the Philadelphia airport, this is the 1st time I was able to pray in the Salaat area. Usually, I'm in another part of the airport and I just find someplace to pray there. What is unique about the Philadelphia airport is they have a wudu station attached to Salaat area. You will usually find a designated place to pray in most major airports, but not a wudu station attached to the prayer area... at least not in United States. All of this is due to Allah and the hard work and of The African American Muslims in Philadelphia and South Jersey to make our Deen a normal way of life.

Yelp
I always enjoy flying into this airport. The time frame from gate to gate, entry to exit is reasonable and efficient. Also the stores in this airport also allow for convenience and efficiency. As you walk around this airport you will also enjoy some music history and some great sounds as you walk from gate to gate. Service is great as the staff are open to answer any of your questions.

Yelp
I flew into Philly for a short weekend trip. I've been here a number of times and never really had any issues so it's fine to fly in here. This was the first time I didn't rent a car , and I was pleasantly surprised how close it was to the city. Just a short $20 Uber ride and you can be in the heart of the city. Arriving was easy. It's a smaller airport and easy to navigate. Great signage throughout the terminal and finding the ride share pickup was easy. It was leaving that was a bit of a nightmare. TSA pre-check was backed up and very slow. Once through, there were a number of decent shops and places to eat. No Priority Pass lounge in any of the terminals. It seemed as though the airport was a bit disorganized. The gate was switched 3 times in less than an hour and when I got to the gate the agents didn't change the gate signs so there was mass confusion.
