Really enjoyed my lunch here. 😋 Good size sandwich and the bun definitely should get some respect as well. I was worried that it would be a bit messy but it really did hold together well and the bread was fresh. I went with the original but there is no shortage af options here. Another review mentioned that these were the best fries in town and I must agree that they were excellent. Also enjoyed a side of the gravy. It's a beef gravy and the consistency is just right to coat the fry.

This was one of the worst food experiences I have ever had, Imnsir etje steaks are great ad the reviews were really good but my experience was AWFUL from the moment I entered the restaurant. First off the place semlled of sweat and BO to I decided to get my food to go... I asked for a veal sandwich with light sauce no cheese and down peppers and onions... Right away I noticed that they pulled my veal from a container from the fridge as it was already cooked. When I asked the guy why he wasn't frying a fresh sandwich for such a high cost $27 with a fry and pop he said oh we fry them then finish the in the oven( I assure you it was not cooked the same day 🤮) Then When they go to give me my sandwich I notice the cheese(I'm alllergic) No problems things happen so I wait for the new sandwich (should have asked for a refund right there) I get my food and it's smothered in sauce(can't seem to follow requests) Now the 2 positives - the fries are tasty but unfortunately for me they decided to give me all the crumbs and leftovers and no real fries(photo) The bun was amazing really high quality and although the sauce was way too soggy the bun held up (for the 2 bites I ate before threw my $20 sandwich in the garbage) The veal was disgusting - rubber and clearly a day or more old - truly terrible To the owners, the time it takes you to take the food out of the fridge and reheat it in the oven you could easily fry a fresh piece of veal I know your focus is the steaks but everything should be made fresh not just the steak Based on the reviews above STICK TO THE STEAK I'm truly disappointed with this meal and I hate giving bad reviews but this is deserved and I threw away the entire meal after about 3 bites The food was truly BAD

I was passing through Orangeville and decided to stop here for an “authentic” Philadelphia Cheesesteak. Years ago this place was featured on The Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here” so I was excited to try it. I knew I would be travelling through the area so I watched the episode a few days before. I was impressed that they used fresh prime rib when making their cheesesteaks. Which is the very reason I was very disappointed when… after placing my order I watched the owner place a frozen steak “puck” onto the grill. The same frozen puck that I have purchased in a 4-pack at M&M meat shops! The sandwich was tasty. Nice fresh bun but I think for the price I paid it wouldn’t be too much to ask to expect fresh steak. It’s been a long time since John Catucci came to visit and it’s clear that things have changed since then. I wish the owners all the best… they were very nice people… but I will not be returning the next time I’m in the area. Decent sandwich… but not worth $14.

I brought my mom for her first Philly Cheesesteak sandwich ever. She loved it. We both thought the bun used for the sandwich was exceptional. We didn't catch the name of the young man that served us. He was great, friendly and helpful. He made our experience even better than the food. Although the food was great. A definite go to in Orangeville if your hungry. 1,000x's better than a chain fast food restaurant.

Stopped in here yesterday after some black Friday shopping. I ordered the Canadian cheese steak with onion rings. Both were excellent, this place always hit the spot. The staff was friendly and brought out the food when it was ready, the portions are generous and the food was top notch. Definitely my go to cheese steak spot without a question. 10/10.

Such an incredible Philly Cheese steak sandwich! It was so phenomenal 😍 the bread was perfectly toasted, and it's the first time I've had a Philly Sandwich without any sauce, just had onion and mushroom added to mine, and man was it the best thing I've tried since forever! I just wish I lived closer. I'll have to carve out the time to go again, but it's so worth it in my opinion 🙌🏽💯 they have so many options for toppings, including sauces. My Hugest Compliments to the Chef and Owner. Top Notch Philly Sandwich Spot (pssttt.. owner if you want to open in North York, I could promise to be there at least once a week 🙂)

I went to Philadelphia kitchen today with my husband because we have been hearing from our friends that it is the top philly cheesesteak restaurant and their veal is impeccable. My husband got the green pepper steak with cheese wiz, and I got the veal parm which was sooo good my stomach was so happy. when I was in there though there was a guy and complaining about having cheese on his sandwich also pretty sure he made a review on here I was reading as typing my review I can’t believe he said it was not good. When I had the veal it was soo good and the proper amount of cheese is to die for (I guess he didn’t like it because there was no cheese lol). My husband really liked his cheesesteak and the fries were also really good especially with the ketchup they have !! 10/10 experience going to recommend this to all my friends!!

We’ve enjoyed this place in the past, but on our most recent visit the portion sizes seemed noticeably smaller than before. Service felt a bit gruff, and unfortunately one of our orders came out incorrect. Hoping this was just an off day.

We needed to hit Orangeville to buy some haggis, so I figured we should try to pop in somewhere for lunch while we're there. I did a quick search to see if John Catucci had been to the area with either of his shows, and it turned out Philadelphia Kitchen was featured on You Gotta Eat Here. Decision made! We decided to try a couple of their cheesesteaks, one with wiz and one with mozzarella. After a wait of about 15 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. My first impression was that hey, this doesn't look like a traditional cheesesteak. The wiz one especially only seemed to contain a small line of cheese whiz, which, if you've ever had an authentic cheesesteak, you know is absolutely incorrect. Anyway, even though I wouldn't call either of these sandwiches cheesesteaks in the traditional sense, they turned out to be tasty meat sandwiches regardless. The meat is cooked very well, and the fresh bread provides a nice crunch. Do I wish I'd been served an actual cheesesteak? Yes, definitely. But I did enjoy this for what it was, which is a well-made steak sandwich.

Super friendly family owned, delicious hot fresh food. So many options on the menu the whole gang will find something to eat! Great for family meals. Take out or eat in. If you live or work in the area this should be on the list of places to grab a hearty lunch to get you through the day.

I have 2 kids with celiac disease and finding good food that is gluten free is nearly impossible. They literally were in heaven after tasting the GF fries with steak, cheese and onion. We highly recommend it!!

Got the unnamed special (on a small chalkboard with various menu items): a bun with onion, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapeño & steak. The bread was crusty & the sandwich had some kick. The BBQ sauce was good. There was a lot of meat though it was cut so finely that it approached ground beef in texture. It was hard to pick out the bacon & the cheese was uneven along the bread. Cherry peppers are the spiciest of their 3 types of hot peppers.

You call yourself Philadelphia Kitchen but call that a Cheese Steak?! Good start the bread was Crisp and fresh. BUT the filling left a lot to be desired. My partner's Phily Cheese steak was cut so much it was I almost thought it was hamburger. It was also obviously was not fresh off tasting, we could barely find the cheese, On a freaking Cheese Steak! come on! My veal was passible, the sauce was decent. but it too was over processed probably to cover a cheap cut of meat. We won't be going back!

Hands down, best cheese steak...my fav is the mushroom with onions. Service is wonderful, these people care about quality food and customers.

The place feels old but in a good traditional fashion. Seems owners work themselves. The lady on the counter explained all the menu options and was very welcoming. Ordered a steak sandwich.

A friend brought me here telling me it would be the best ever Philly sandwiches. So I had high hopes for this place as he loves food as much as me. The food was really good but I wasn't blown away by the Philly steak sandwich. I like my meat to be seasoned and it was bland. The cheese and onions helped but it lacked something. I added mayo and it helped. Just wish they had even added salt/pepper to the meat. My sandwich also came with mushroom which could have been seasoned as well. I was surprised that I was blown away by the meatball sandwich! Being married to an Italian the one thing you learn is a good meatball and they nailed it. The tomato sauce was just the right amount of acidity and texture. Nice and thick not runny. I highly recommend trying it. The fries are great. Fresh cut and thick. Prefect fit for pairing with the meal. The gravy I wasn't to thrilled about but it's not bad. All in all this is a place I would recommend and I will definitely be coming back. Xoxo happy eats.

First time stopping here and it was delicious. We ordered the Stallion, and the Canadian and we both really enjoyed them. The Loaded Fries were very good as the grilled onions added a nice flavor. Consider adding a side of gravy or other sauce (like au jus) as the sandwich bread has that chewy, but perfect for a sandwich thing going on. We will br back to try some of the other sandwiches.

Nice sandwich shop with a kind of a retro vibe. As the name suggests they specialize in Philly cheese steaks which are quite good. Recently stopped in for a bite on my way through town and thought I'd try something different, decided to try the chicken parm sandwich and some onion rings, wasn't at all impressed. The chicken on the sandwich was dry and the sauce bland. The onion rings tasted a bit rancid like the fryer oil hadn't been changed in quite a while. Will stick to the Philly steak.

My family love Philly Kitchen. Hubby & kids go for traditional Cheese Steak sandwich, I prefer the grilled veggie delight sandwich. The fresh buns are one of the key ingredients added to food cooked with pride.

Ordered 3x sandwiches... All 3 were wrong, stuffed full of green peppers and oil. Dumped into garbage and called them to find out she knew it was wrong, but sold it anyways. Good luck

These fries are absolutely delicious, best fries I've ever had and I hardly eat potatoes because they're not my favourite. The steak is moist and the flavour is delicious. The buns they use have a soft interior and a crusty exterior. Excellent choice for their sandwich. 4 stars because I think the price is a bit steep for the portion you get.

I love those kind of places! Small and very friendly, the food is really good! Like a hidden gem in a small town, worth to stop to try one of the philly cheese steak sandwiches, there's a long list for all tastes! The fries are really good (and I'm from Belgium, so trust me!)

Our first time here. I am shocked this place was on You Gotta Eat Here. I was very excited to try this place out dispit the mixed reviews. What an absolute disappointment. The only reason for the second star was the freindly customer service. As for the food. We all had the meatball sub and every single one fot them was cold and the sauce was bland. For the price, I expected way better. I will not go back.

I didn't have the best review for this place the first time. I figured I order the philly-cheesesteak and wasn't overall crazy impressed so I decided to venture a little bit away from they norm. I ordered a veal sandwich with cheese and mushrooms. Wow... this was REALLY good. The veal is super tender, the bread is still amazingly crunchy and soft on the inside, but what really got me was the sauce. Their tomato sauce is just amazing. The tomato sauce has some serious flavour to it. You can taste an amazing balance of oregano and parmesan cheese. I really thought this was one of the best veal sandwiches I've had. I'm probably going to start ordering the whole menu just to see what the rest of it is like, but trust me in saying that I really thought their veal sandwich was top knotch.

Here is probably the best way to describe Philadelphia Kitchen. I visited this place after seeing it on the Food Network. It's technically hard to find a great Philly Cheesesteak. So I'm excited I made my trip here. Service: 5/5 - A very family feel. The cashier and the chef was very interactive and it felt like they appreciated your business. The service was quick and easy. The menu is focused, exactly what restaurant should be. Quality of Food: 5/5 - The quality of food is amazing. I'm very happy I had the opportunity to visit this Restruant. In comparison to Philly Steaks from Philadelphia it's a close match. Also no need to add extra seasoning, it's well prepared and taste amazing. Temperature of Food: 5/5 - Made fresh to order. So no questions about the temperature. Value of Meals: 4/5 - The prices are ok. It's a bit on the pricy side but for the amount you get... It's pretty good. You can't expect the same prices of food in the US, but the quantity of food was good. Atmosphere: Family oriented. There are tables so you can dine in. Simple decor which makes this restaurant a recommended place. Would I Return: Yes Time of Meal: Lunch

I thought this place was, as per Yelp's 3* rating, A-OK. Cheesesteak sandwiches are ~$9 sans drinks. They have old school Coca-Cola bottled drinks for $2.25 and I think that was pretty cool, a shoutout to a simpler time! I ordered the Mushroom Cheesesteak which, in addition to the sauteed onions, came with mushrooms. Thought it was pretty tasty, but I was barely able to taste the cheese - maybe because I didn't see any. I think it was mixed in during the cooking process. Sandwich came on a nice artesanal oblong shaped bun which had a nice crunch/chew to it, so I thought that was a nice touch. Client that I went with said that it tasted like Quiznos, so...you get my drift. Nothing super mind blowing.

In Otown for a couple days so stopped and grabbed a sandwich to take home for my friend Mary Jane and I. Like many I had heard about Philly Kitchen on "You Gotta Eat Here" Just Wow! The moment you step in the door the smell hits you and you know you have made the right choice. Grabbed the Canadian Cheese steak sandwich and fries. Got home settled and dove into my first bite. At which point I stopped and said "Holy S $%t that's good!" This sandwich lived up to every expectation I had. There was just so much flavour. Stop what are doing and go eat here!

Tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned and cooked steak with cheese and onions on a warm crunchy bread = happiness. Expect a small wait time for your order, totally acceptable because everything is made to order.

Was very excited to sink my teeth into this homemade meatball sandwich and was slightly disappointed when I did. The marinara sauce was very bland but worst of all, the Sandwich was cold. I figured the meatballs would have been simmering in the marinara sauce as homemade meatballs should b but that was not the case. It was so cold that the cheese did not melt properly and the temperature ruined the experience for me. The bun was very fresh with a beautiful crusty outside which was the highlight of my dining experience.

First time trying this place tonight. Service was quick, Friday around 6:00pm, not many customers. I decided to try the original with chicken, onion and cheese to go. Smelled really good thru the bag on the way home, I expected great things. The flavor on the other hand, was pretty much non existent. All I could taste was bread. The chicken had zero flavour, I could barely taste the onions, and cheese was invisible. There was no sauce. I had to add my own mayo and hot sauce to give it some kinda taste! I was very disappointed. The best thing about the sandwich was the bread, it was very delicious and fresh, highlight of the meal. Would I go back? No....

Disappointed in the cheesesteak sandwich considering the ratings this restaurant gets. I was really looking forward to what I hoped would be a cheesy, steaky, flavor-filled sandwich. The bun was nice, but that's about the only positive. The meat was ground beef-esque, pale, and VERY bland. Even my 7-year old found the sandwich too bland and he didn't finish his portion as a result. The high point was the fries, which were crispy and well salted.

This is our favorite take out in Orangeville. The best Philly Sandwiches around. We have become regulars.

Customer service was good and that is the only reason for the star. Food was a big disapointment! We got the veal sandwich which was cold and flavorless. Never again id rather make a sandwich my self!

Love this place. Have tried many of their sandwiches and fries and quite enjoy them. Even my girlfriend enjoys their veggie sandwiches. I hear they have quite the lunch crowd, but otherwise can have tough hours - closed after 7 and on Sundays.

Hooters makes a better philly cheese steak than this place. I've given this place so many chances and I'm always left with a "less then thrilled" impression. I live in Vancouver however I come to Orangeville once a year to see family and friends. Each visit home I make it a point to see if Philly Kitchen has improved If your eating here due to the "you gotta eat here" recommendation it's worth while to note that the "Philly Kitchen" in Orangeville episode was filmed before the "American Cheesesteak" (Vancouver) episode...if that had have been reversed...."philly" would've never been filmed. You should really watch both episodes and compare...and if you ever find yourself in Vancity I highly encourage you to try them, To this day I eat there a few times a month :). (I loves me a Philly cheesesteak) My top reasons for a generous 2 Stars (1 star for polite service, 1 star for feeding me without making my stomach upset) 1. The meat is flavourless...definition of bland. Yes theirs salt n pepper on it but come on...I'm not paying for s n p 2. The cheese is pretty close to non existent, and also pretty bland as well. It's really sad when your eating a philly CHEESEsteak and have to go looking for the cheese. It's even sadder when cheese whiz has the most flavoured option. 3. The portions are just ridiculous. It's 80% bread (yes, I'll admit it's good bread but I don't want to taste just bread!) 10% flavourless meat, 5% cheese and then some onions.....not what I'd call a true philly. For some reason you guys stay open so their has to be something your doing right. I've heard generally positive reviews about your "veal sandwich" so kudos. However when I read "Philadelphia Kitchen" on a sign and the signature dish is a "cheesesteak"....I expect much more.

Talk the hubby into anniversary lunch instead of dinner out also a new shower install and flooring saw this place on You Gotta Here had to check it out since its only 20 mins from home! Got there early with only 6 others in the place ordered a Buffalo Steak Sandwich hubby the namesake Philly Cheese order of fries and 2 neat pops AWESOME tender beef great spice not too tough on the ciabatta bun fries done just right...great couple that own and run this hard to find spot but after 12:30 on a Sat the line up was out the door. We will definitely come back to sample up more of Joe's Philly Sandwiches and maybe renovate another part of the house lol!!! Oh and the prices are just in line with Quiznos but better..........

Great Fries and Sandwich! Stopped on our way through the city. I had the Deli Sandwich with Pickles. Cooked hot and fresh. Fantastic bread the way a sandwich should be. I would have rated higher, but it was extremely busy and I would not wait 40 Mins for 3 Sandwiches again. Nice atmosphere good stools and benches to sit. Clean bathrooms. Food was worth the wait and staff was friendly. In a hurry if theirs a line I wouldn't wait that long again. Nice place will certainly be back!

Looking for a Philly Cheesesteak? There only one place to go! Philadelphia Kitchen has a truely authentic sandwich, my favorite had onions and green peppers. French fries with chili is meal in itself, AWSOME to share. If your near Orangeville, a must stop!!

Yes they are right. Yummy. Taste is perfect. Worth the drive. The place is clean cool look in the store. A bit small but worth the money and would come here again. The town is worth walking around in too. Gives that small town feel

Been coming here for years. Fresh, delicious food and friendly fast service. Anytime of day food. We even catered food for an event we had and it was off the charts amazing.

I absolutely loveeee cheese steak sandwiches but we all know how hard it is to find a place that makes really good cheese steak sandwiches. Look no further this place was AMAZING. Although its a little far from where I live I do have to say its worth the commute. When I arrived it was full with people waiting to pick up their orders and after placing our there was another group of people after us. There is definitely high volume here so please make sure you have the time. Well worth the wait. The sandwich served on an Italian bun was made to perfection. The bun toasted perfectly to give that crunch with every bite. The sandwich was packed in with meat and toppings they were definitely not stingy on the meat or anything on the sandwich for that matter. The meat was super tender and tasty. Not tough at all. The only small complaint that I have was the portion of the poutine was a little stingy but not even worth taking any points away from this review. The menu have many options of different cheese steak sandwiches and also Italian sandwiches. I will definitely be returning to try different items on the menu.

Ate lunch here today, for the first, and last, time. My initial observation is that it should not take 25 minutes to get two take out sandwiches and an order of fries when there are about 15 people in the joint, and most of them are already eating. Second point: My wife quite liked her Buffalo steak sandwich, so maybe I just got unlucky. Anatomy of my "veal sandwich with cheese and fried onions": Bread: 70% Onions: 15% "Veal" 10% [of which 80% was soggy breading] Honestly, the entire cutlet was about the size of my index and middle fingers put together. It was also frozen and I believe it was just heated up on the flat top, so it was not crispy in any way, shape, or form. "Cheese": 5%. There was something white and a bit melted in the corner of the bun...I can only hope it was, in fact, cheese. I'm guessing the total cost of this abomination was $1.50. maybe $1.75. I wish I had my phone with me to illustrate my points, but I left it down Broadway, about a 20 minute walk away. If I were a more confrontational person I would have gone back and demanded a refund, but that's not my style. All in all, this was the worst "culinary experience" I have had since university residence dinners in the 1970s. "You don't gotta eat here!"

First time here and I have to say this small sandwich place has exceeded my expectations. I had the Italian sloppy Joe as suggested by the cashier and it was fantastic. Tons of meat, cheese, and peppers made this the sloppiest of joes. I also got a side of old style fries with the skin on that were incredible. The prices were fair and the decor was rustic Italian. Overall a great place and I can't wait to go again to try something new.

Great food. Reasonably priced. Staff super friendly. Cheryl and I tried a couple of sandwiches, the original and the mushroom. Both were delicious. We split Fries and rings, huge servings. We'll be back for sure. Totally worth the trip.

Was passing through town and Yelp recommended this place. Walked in and was greeted by very friendly staff. The menu was huge and all sounded delicious. I tried the classic Philly cheese steak and it was by far the best I have ever had. Everything was so tasty. The bun was amazing and the fries were too. I hope one day I'll be passing through Orangeville again just so I can eat here again.

I wasn't impressed with my pulled pork but my very picky children devoured their meatball sliders and fries. The cook was also nice enough to substitute meatballs for chicken on one of the kids meals at no extra.charge. The fries were delicious as well. I would definitely return to try their meatballs and other choices.

You can get anything you want fried up and served on a bun. Lots of options, even for their fries. Also very reasonable prices
