"A gourmet festival of summertime flavours awaits you at Manos Makrygiannakis. The chef, who hails from Crete, shines the spotlight on ingredients that are steeped in Mediterranean spices and aromas. Authentic food based on top-quality produce (on sale at the shop). A friendly vibe depicts this establishment, ideal to share a delicate spanakopita, grilled cuttlefish and melt-in-the-mouth baklava with friends. A Greek feast!" - Michelin Inspector

Philema is the place you go when you want to feel in Greece for a couple of hours without paying a fare ticket. The food is sublime, and the staff is so charming and helpful that they honor the well known greek hospitality culture.

I came here with a Greek friend who vouched that this is the best Greek food outside of Greece he had every had. The place is a cozy restaurant with very friendly staff which definitely elevated the overall experience. The food is delicious and the portions are extremely generous. Turns out the main ingredients are imported directly from Greece and they offer a lot of traditional meals that you can only find on the island of Crete. I would surely go back for their grilled cheese with marmalade, and their slow cooked lamb. Overall, the restaurant is well recommended! I can't wait to come back

Very disappointing. The 3 stars are thanks to a great service that we had! The food quality was poor, calamari inedible, the Crete salad tasteless with barely red tomatoes with 0 juice being the main ingredient of 17€ salad (the season has started so you can really get decent tomatoes even in Brussels).

The pita du jour was spanakopita and was delicious, I had the salade cretoise, that I can only recommend as it was heavenly (the tomatoes - long time since I've had such tasty ones!). We also had a small appetizer, on the house, and the bread is homemade (very good too). The wine was fresh, the service was very good and we didn't have to wait a lot. Salad and spanakopita amount to 40 euros, great price for the quality, and good quantity! Highly recommend for a nice summer lunch

I can definetly say that this is my favourite restaurant in Bruxelles! Everything is just great 👍 I love the food, the wines originally from Greece :) the grecque gin is on top ! Amazing atmosphere, great service :) always happy to bring my friends here to have a wonderful time ❣ 100% recommended ! Great staff with a nice smile on their faces :)

The starters were great (portions were quite big though). The mains were a bit bland unfortunately. I had the rabbit and my partner had a baked octopus which was even more disappointing. I’m sure the rest of the menu is good from the reviews. Will have to come back and try other dishes another day

Just had lunch here with friends, I cannot express enough how good everything was thank you.

Yelp
The positive comments does do it justice! I rarely leave a review but in this case I had to. Philema is now on the top of my list of the 3 good Greek restaurants in Brussels. And one of the best ones overall. Service, food, drinks and even atmosphere were really great. We were 3 Greeks out of four at the table and the appetizers, including known tzatziki and tarama were delicious. The main dishes, including a Greek risotto with goat meet, lamb with veggie spaghetti and bifteki were very tasty. Topping that with a baklava was just perfect. It's simple Greek (mostly Cretan) food revisited and served in good portions! A must in Brussels! One last tip: the Rakomelo (warm raki with honey, cloves and cinnamon) was delightful and actually took us through the entire meal!

Yelp
A very nice Greek restaurant. Friendly staff, the owner came up afterwards and asked how we liked the food and wine. The aubergine was very good, also the feta-cheese. Recommended!

Yelp
Flawless dining experience! We had the pleasure of eating here twice during our last trip to Brussels, and were super impressed both times. Very lovingly done food, extremely delicious and fresh, and a very welcoming atmosphere. DO NOT skip the homemade desserts!!! :-P

Yelp
Nice place, good food and a welcome change from the typical greek restaurant! Would recommend the stuffed vine leaves and the spetzofai (spiced sausages with bell peppers in a tomato sauce). Prices are ok (not expensive, not terribly cheap either), house wine is quite affordable and good. Service is the greek way meaning no chichi but who cares... To recommend!
