Come for delicious Lechon, soups and other Filipino dishes. Big portions for very reasonable prices (all meals were under $10), 10/10 recommend- they are open for lunch from 12-2 pm. Come early if you can! We got there 30 minutes after opening and some popular items (like the egg rolls) were already sold out. The store is run by the sweetest couple who gave us some free samples. The dessert selection and other take out items are incredible. Note there is no seating in the shop so take out only. Street parking around the corner. Definitely worth a visit :)

Wow. The food in this place is Amazing. Real homestyle Filipino flavors were abundant upon walking in the door of this place. The smell alone made me very hungry. All fans of Filipino food should learn about this tiny place in Arlington.

This is one of those places you will miss when it's gone. The lunch platters are extremely affordable, and change every single day. The little attached shop has a ton of great things you'd normally only find in an H mart. We go here every week, and have brought a ton of people to it that now go all the time. I've never heard a single complaint about anything, it's something you can't get anywhere else here.

SerpAPI
Total mom and pop shop where you get carry out food, and they have a small section for groceries. The owners are very kind and thoughtful. They made recommendations for how to reheat and prepare the food. It's delightfully refreshing. The pork was a standout. The egg rolls were also crispy and tasty. I was not as big a fan of the eggplant/beef dish, as it was generally bland. The hopia ube, piyaya, biko, and perfect ube, were all pretty good too. I definitely liked the cassava cake. I plan to return for a deeper dive in the pork, a larger portion with rice, and will update this later.

A hidden gem! The food here is always tastes great and seems healthy. I particularly enjoy the variety of the meals prepared.

SerpAPI
Small mom & pop market for some pantry items of Filipino food. They also sell homemade Filipino dishes for takeaway. I bought ginisang ampalaya. Tasted perfect & authentic. Good place if you're craving some homemade Filipino food.

Such a cute little place and so delicious. Definite hidden gem owned by an adorable older couple. Please do support this shop. You won't be disappointed.

We came after 2pm and they unfortunately stop serving lunch after 2pm, but chef Evelyn was so nice and the pastries there were amazing. Such great prices too

Yelp
Great local Mom & Pop under new ownership. Greatly expanded hours. Previous owners trained new owners. I've enjoyed everything I've tried.

Sheila H.

Yelp
Chef Evelyn and Oscar have retired and new management has been trained on past dishes and will be introducing new ones! Two sweet Thai ladies now run the establishment and will be expanding menu to include more Asian food. We ordered our usual lunch combo. Understanding management has changed, flavors were different but not bad. Excited to see what they have in store!

Yelp
Great filipino food Fast and conveniently located. Highly recommend for folks looking for filipino comfort food. Only wished they'd properly make and offer pancit palahbok. Other than that still highly recommend

Erlyne S.

Yelp
This was a modest store that offer Filipino snacks, rice cakes and prepared hot meals. I heard their turo turo (cafeteria style food) runs from 12nn to 2pm and always gets sold out. The chef herself greeted us, prepared our orders and billed us out. She made conversation and was so friendly and down to earth. Mind you, she seems to be very popular seeing that she had many recognitions as shown on the framed newspaper clippings and photos with celebrities. And rightfully so, the food that we ordered were so delicious. We had the beef lumpia and lechon kawali. I've never had beef as the meat in my lumpia rolls before but these were great. Super crunchy and flavorful! The lechon kawali also had great texture - the skin had a nice crunch yet the meat itself was tender and moist. Highly recommend this spot for good, homey Filipino food and friendly service!

Yelp
At $7.50 for the lunch platter this place is a great deal and great food! Their lunch special is from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a pretty good portion and and everything is pretty tasty. I also got the egg rolls for an extra $3.50, which comes with 10 eggrolls. A steal! They have some ube pies and Pan Dan snacks as well as rice noodles I tried pancit for the first time at another restaurant recently, and I definitely think this place does it better. The service is super friendly husband and wife who have written cook books and make all the food themselves. It's a buffet counter, so there's no seating and it can crowded at lunch because it's a small space. I will be coming back to try the rest of their options and pick up some desserts and check out their groceries!

Yelp
After searching for a Filipino restaurant for weekend lunch, I settled on this place. It is definitely a small establishment with a few Filipino grocery items and a hot bar, plus a nice collection of baked goods/desserts. I opted to get the lunch platter which included rice, pacit noodles, and I chose double lechon for the protein. The lechon was perfect with moist and flavorful meat along with crispy skin. For dessert, the mango cake was the finishing touch for the meal. The interior walls have lots of newspaper articles and pictures of the chef with various government leaders and dignitaries. It's obvious why this small restaurant and store has gained so much attention. The food is delicious, wholesome, and portions are generous. Unfortunately, I live out of town, so I won't likely by back soon. However, next time I'm in the Washington area, I will definitely make it a point to return and enjoy some more Filipino deliciousness!

Priscilla T.

Yelp
Run by this tita and tito... Evelyn's home cooked Filipino food is very hearty and delicious. You'll never know what she will be cooking that day like it's just whatever she wants. Amazing vibes. Definitely a little slower service since they take their time and sometimes will even open late. There's also snacks and pastries in the market you can shop for, but I love the cafeteria style lunch take-out boxes. We got to try pancit, lumpia, beef stew, and some veggies. Generous portions. Very filling and affordable!

K M.

Yelp
Never Open Food may be great, but I wouldn't know. I've tried--unsuccessfully--to get some three times. The first time there was a hand-written sign on the door saying away, reopening on Wednesday. Showed up on Wednesday. New sign, new reopening day. Showed up on the new day, no sign, still not open. Not wasting any more time here. There are other, great options like Filipino Global Supermarket down by Seminary and Carlin Springs.

Yelp
PSA: The chef will be on vacation starting April 29 until June 14! This might mean that there won't be cooked Filipino food for awhile? I'd call to confirm. I got there around 12:30 PM and was hoping to try the chicken adobo and lechon. Sadly, it didn't seem like they had the chicken adobo today and they were out of the lechon (apparently huge order in the morning). The store is small (not many grocery items either) but lots of desserts on the table or fridge (also other foods here as well). The hot bar is cafeteria style and there were a decently long line by the time I got there. PORK MECHADO (A LA CARTE, PINT SIZED) - 6.50 From my understanding, this is a slightly spicy Filipino pork stew with small pork cubes (very tender and flavorful), carrots, green peppers, and potatoes. The sauce was fantastic in terms of seasoning and spice. Very delicious on its own and you'd probably food coma if you ate it with rice or the noodles. My portion had lots of pork! UBE PIE (SLICE) - 1.50 The ube pie here was decently sweet but I liked that I could still taste the yam-like texture ("ube fibers"). Definitely an enjoyable dessert that had a strong ube flavor, a perfect afternoon snack. BIBINGKA CUP - 1.25 Overall, this was a light dessert, but I wasn't a huge fan of the slightly mushy texture. It wasn't too sweet, which I like. MANGO CHIFFON CAKE - 1.75 This was good! My roommate and I enjoyed this for its fragrant mango flavor and light cream. Also not too sweet, so it's definitely easy to devour a few pieces without much thinking. My friend got the platter with lechon and beef and he thought it was super delicious but super heavy (but that's also because he ate all of the rice and noodles). For $8.50, this is very worth it! I wish I got the lumpia here because I hear those were extremely tasty. Definitely next time when I come back. Overall, food and dessert here are extremely affordable and tasty (homemade quality). I'm excited to come back in the future to try the lechon, lumpia, chicken/pork adobos and more desserts!

Yelp
This is one of the best Filipino stores in the DMV area. I am a Filipino and I attest that the food here is real and authentic. They are open only limited hours but the quality of the food you are getting is great for a good price. I ordered lumpia shanghai 20pcs for 6 dollars before and my friends really enjoyed it. They had ready to eat meals such as dinuguan and sinigang. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Filipino food. I recommend calling them ahead of time if you want to place a bulk order for parties. The chef will be happy to prepare them for you. Parking is easy on the streets. They have a small grocery store also if you want to try the other Filipino local products.

Yelp
A gem! Filipino markets are pretty rare in the area and finding one with such great hospitality is truly heart warming. My cousin and I were looking for tuyo (dried fish) and thought we were out of luck. However, we asked nanay if they had any and she said yes! They had frozen packs in the back and even gave us directions on how to prepare without frying and using the microwave instead. The store also had the pantry essentials like Mang Tomas, banana ketchup, and seasoning packets. The hot bar foods are affordable but we were super stuffed and just got some slices of desserts. Can't wait to try the hot lunch next time!

Jed R.

Yelp
You hungry? You in the mood for some damn good food? Come on down. POM&D has amazing foot and some groceries too! Lechon, double rice, and a gina. That's it. That's all you need.

Maybell T.

Yelp
First time here today. Bought 3 lunch platters, lumpia, desserts, and groceries. It's small and wait time was long but it's run by 2 people serving food and working the cashier with a long line. I loved that it had several choices that weren't pork or shellfish. Very rare to find. Pancit was not oily-huge plus! Beefstik very tender and NOT fatty! Lumpia Shanghai was beef and not pork - another huge plus! I've lived with in the DMV for over 10 years and can't believe this is my first time. Will be a regular.

Vee M.

Yelp
First time at this place 8/1/ 23. Food was absolutely delicious! The food taste fresh and the meat was nice and tender. There was a regular customer there that mentioned the chefs food had nursed him back to health, now that is amazing! They say eating out is unhealthy but I think this place is like a home cooked meal! I would have posted a pic of my meal but I forgot and ate it all.

Jam C.

Yelp
Hands down the best lumpia I've had in the area! You can't beat the price either, $3 for 10 pieces. The lechon is also amazing! Definitely 5 stars for both the lumpia and lechon. The combo meals are fairly cheap too and includes rice and /or noodles and 2 entrees. Her menu changes daily including the individual pastries and bread she makes. My favorites are ube halaya, cassava cake and ube flaky pastry. The ube filling is also made in house! I mostly come here for the hot food but they do have small selection of filipino grocery items. With the pandemic, the lovely and sweet couple/owners provides gloves and hand sanitizer upon entry.

Michelle M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful Filipino grocery store with hot food service. I am a fan of Chef Evelyn's take on classic Filipino dishes and desserts -- excellent in quality ingredients, recipes, and taste.

Courtney J.

Yelp
10/10 cute spot. There is parking just before the shop, I just had to cross the street. Food was delicious I'd definitely recommend this Filipino spot to anyone. It's hard to find Philippine food in this area.

Sammy W.

Yelp
Such a lovely Filipino grocery and also delicious hot Filipino food to go. Highly reccomend making the trip here and meeting the wonderful and kind chef Evelyn, whose tasty food took me right back to Manila.

Marcus L.

Yelp
Great home cooked Filipino food. Served cafeteria style, you can pick different items (meats, veggies, noodles, etc) for a lunch platter or have individual items packed on their own. They also have a fridge where they sell prepackage food. Their lumpia (egg rolls) are the best I've had in the area and their chicken empanadas (pies) are great as well. Filipino cuisine also has many vegetarian dishes made in gata (coconut milk). Their desserts are well made and not too sweet. Highly recommend their kutsinta (sticky rice cups) As well as their cassava cake (root veggie cake). Another dessert they have is ginataan bilo bilo (which basically translates to balls made in coconut milk) - a warm soupy/sticky type dessert which typically comes w sweet potatoes, jack fruit, plantain type bananas and other amazing stuff haha. Establishment is owned by a Filipina and her husband.

Yelp
I LOVE CHEF EVELYN! Philippine Oriental Market (aka POM) off of Lee Highway is a hidden gem and a local favorite for delicious, MSG-free, homecooked meals. I grew up attending my Filipina titas' get-togethers and have been missing such delicious food ever since I moved away from Chicago. All of the dishes and the desserts that are offered are made by Chef Evelyn, and all are of her creations. The place has the usual comfort foods, such as Lechon, Lumpia Shanghai, Chicken Sisig, Chicken Inasal, Pinakbet, Adobo, Cassava Cake, Puto, etc. My favorites are the pancit (literally the best pancit I've had, the noodles are cooked perfectly with fresh cuts of veggies), the Chicken Adobo (delicious, juicy chicken in a savory sauce), Beef Adobo (beefy cubes in savory sauce), the Lechon (delicious, juicy roasted pork with crispy, delectable skin), and the Lumpia Shanghai (all handmade/hand-rolled). The baked breads are also delicious, particularly the ones filled with roasted chicken, the puff pastries filled with ube, and the empanadas filled with tomatoes/veggies. Portions are super generous, and combos/platters are offered. They also offering catering options, so you can order for your next party get-together. Run by Chef Evelyn and her husband, Mr. Oscar, this place is one of my absolute favorites! Both treat you like family, both have beautiful hearts, and really make sure that everything is satisfactory. Just note that this is not a 'fast food' type of an establishment, but the food are all handmade, cooked/baked/prepared fresh daily, and does take time. There is about 3 seats at a small counter to dine-in, but most tend to take their items to-go. Limited parking around the area, as well as metered parking along Lee Highway. Definitely check this place out - you won't regret it! :D +ask for Chef Evelyn :D :D :D +delicious, authentic, homemade Filipino food :D +hot bar open from 12 PM - 2 PM on open days +Lechon :D +Pancit :D +Chicken Adobo :D +Beef Adobo :D +fresh baked pastries and breads :D +some metered and off-street parking available

Yelp
Wonderful little place. Friendly, welcoming service and DELICIOUS food. Almost no seating so plan to carry out. The woman at the counter - daughter of the owner/founder - found out it was our first time and made us a sampler platter of everything. Pancit, liang, beef & onions, chicken adobo, and lumpia. All were outstanding. Then she brought out some lechon (not pictured) and it was PERFECT. Tender meat, melting fat, crispy shattery skin. Highly recommended for a quick cheap delicious authentic Filipino lunch or dinner.

John A.

Yelp
Highly recommended! Love this mom and pop restaurant. They're so welcoming and their food and services are very good! Make you feel at home like the traditional Filipino home. It's the second time being at their restaurant and I'm planning to visit them more often. Great service really goes a long way!

Kimi S.

Yelp
The outside of this building looks like it's been condemned and abandoned years ago, but one thing is for sure, they know how to roast up a dang good lechon! I was led to this spot by my father in law who works nearby and swears by Evelyn's home cooking on the days that he doesn't bring lunch to work. Filipino food is not known to be healthy but the proprietor does her best to cut calories and fat and use premium ingredients when she can. My personal experience with them was the day that my husband and I were sent out to pick up lechon for an event my father in law was hosting. The whole time I was there I wondered exactly how we were going to put a whole roasted pig in the back of my Civic but luckily they take care of all of the cutting and plating for you. The look is not as impressive as a whole pig but it save SO much time. The lechon was a perfect mix of crispy skin, tiny bit of fan and juicy meat. I am definitely looking forward to making Philippine Oriental Market and Deli a mainstay in all future celebrations!

Yelp
They've been in the area for about 37 years! The woman who cooks all the food (Evelyn) was SO FRIENDLY. She let me and my bf sample the different types of food she made, and everything was great!!! Tasted fresh, home-cooked, and made with love :D They welcome and treat customers like family, which is rare these days. The pork and black beans tasted so good. Also really liked the dish that reminds me of chunky chicken noodle soup except no noodles (was called something that sounds like the word "bok choy" - sorry I'm so ignorant!). Super reasonably priced too. Her chiffon cake and baked donuts are fluffy, light, and not too sweet. HIDDEN TREASURE OF ARLINGTON~

E R.

Yelp
This place was delightful and delicious! I got the pancit, which was tasty and filling, and we got several of the very generously portioned lunch trays for our friends. And of course we got lumpia! Yum! By far, the best of all was the desserts - we got flan and several other treats and they were all delicious. Would definitely drive over to VA for this food again.

Angela N.

Yelp
THE best Filipino food in Arlington. Conveniently located in N. Arlington across from Dunkin donuts and safeway. Ms. Evelyn touts herself on making the food without MSG & even makes fresh tocino, which is hard to find without MSG. She is always willing to let you sample food that you are unfamiliar with. Usually cater from her & find all of my filipino grocery needs (rice/sauces/etc.) at her store. They are always friendly and happy to make something even if it's not available that day. She will also order grocery items that you might be looking for. **hours are sporadic - call before you go. She sometimes closes for special events (catering at embassy; cooking on a show; etc.).

Ron H.

Yelp
I've been wanting to visit this little shop for a long time. It's been here for years. In fact, Tita Evelyn told me that she and her husband started-up their business 34 years ago and were one of the first Filipino stores in the Washington area. I had to take an around about route to work one day so that I could check out the Philippine Oriental Market in Arlington on Lee Highway in between Clarendon and Rosslyn near Route 66. The store itself is very old and run-down. When you step inside it is very cramped and has an old musty appearance. This is what most "Oriental Markets" were known for and it very much a Mom & Pop operation in every sense of the word. To my utter surprise they actually serve hot food from this place, albeit minimal offerings. They had 6 warmers and the best thing in them appeared to be the lechon kawale (crispy deep fried pork). They also had some lumpia shanghai, what appeared to be pinakbet, pancit canton and milkfish. I didn't sample any of it, as nothing looked particularly good to me, but I've read that others like it alot. What was good is the pandesal! Evelyn apparently is quite the baker and her bakery goods are the bomb. I would recommend this spot for the bakery items alone as they are very yummy. I would not advise anyone to make a special trip to visit this store, but it does offer essential items for Arlington area Filipinos and is useful for that purpose. They get an extra star for being so friendly and the bakery items which were the highlight of my visit.

Yelp
Even though I am not able to make it to get some Filipino food during the week I always look forward to stopping by on Sundays. I love the atmosphere even though is quaint I love the food. Her menu changes and I love it. She makes you feel important when you walk through her door. I am so glad o have found this place 8 minutes from my home. Will continue to support small local businesses as I am small business owner myself. Salamat

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: A market of delicious Filipino food, pastries and groceries. I read the Yelp reviews as I was craving for Filipino food. I couldn't resist finding the Philippine Oriental Market (POM) because of one word LECHON! I worked out double thinking I could enjoy the mouthwatering crispy lechon without guilt. I finally found the store front realizing that I drove past it the first time and had to circle around. I was so excited thinking about the lechon as I entered the store I saw a nice lovely lady Cecilia sitting at the counter eating her dessert and Oscar eating his delicious Filipino food plate lunch. I went up to the counter to see food items but there was no lechon or pancit in the warming tray. Saddest came over my tastebuds. I asked about the lechon and Oscar said that there is a line the forms outside the store before they open. They were all sold out. :( Cyndy TIP: Arrive before the store opens and stand in line. I was able to order some pancit and chicken adobo BBQ. The pancit was so delicious and flavorful. There's a nice amount of vegetables in it. I especially like the snow peas. The chicken adobo was so ono and tasty. I will definitely be back to try the lechon and the other items!!!! Mahalo-Salamat!

K. J.

Yelp
I got adobo chicken, crispy pork and whatever the patty in the picture is. I would describe it as an omelette like patty, nice texture with the "crust" on it; made with veggies and ground meat. The lunch menu came with noodles and rice. I also got some desserts from the refrigerator. Note that hot food is only available during lunchtime, noon to two if I recall correctly. Only one other person there when I arrived. The owners(?) were super nice and gave me a purple yam pastry and part of a coconut cake to try. Both were very good! All desserts that I tried were sweet, but not overly sweet. My favorites were the crispy pork, noodles and the coconut cake. Everything was a great price, especially for Arlington. Slices of cake for $1.50, for example! Tastings on Saturday according to the chef.

N C.

Yelp
Lovely food. Menu changes daily which makes each visit an adventure. Order ahead if you want an Ube cake for an event. The multigenerational family members producing the food and sweets are simply the nicest people.

Justin W.

Yelp
Awesome small hole in the wall store that has your favorite Filipino comfort food for unbeatable prices. Definitely something to check out!

Jen L.

Yelp
I came into the store looking for noodles that I needed to make for my spring rolls and the owner realized they had sold their last package so she gave me her noodles from the kitchen for free for my spring rolls. I was so grateful! I will definitely be back!

Jess T.

Yelp
This place is a tiny Filipino mom-and-pop grocery store that also has an impressive hot bar with fresh, healthy Filipino food made from scratch daily. They close at 5:00pm most days, so it's great for lunch. Both soups I tried were fantastic and tasty: one was a tangy, clear broth-y soup and the other was a thick, rich lentil soup with thin slices of fresh ginger and fresh Filipino vegetables. Both were stellar. The creamed spinach dish was satisfying and the dessert of hot plantains in a sweet cream sauce was really delicious. My boyfriend had the steak and onions with rice and he really loved it. The service was great- the man behind the counter encouraged us to try everything since it was our first time there. And the most amazing part was that both of our giant meals, with entrees, soups, sides, rice, bread and dessert, came out to less than $16.00 Seriously, best kept secret in Arlington!

Ross M.

Yelp
Filipino food? YES! I would have no idea that this place is just a few blocks from my house if it weren't for my yelper buddy La. S. Thank you! Tiny little store full of stuff I would never buy, but the hot bar is where it is at. We came in after 11am, but it was too early and they said to come back at 12pm. A few Filipino guys were there when we entered basically jumping up and down for the food. Reminded me of my Filipino friend I work with. Now I know why. As new people, they let us sample just about everything. Everything was delicious, and the owner really cared about the food and customers. She told us about everything and was very friendly. We decided to get 2 platters to go, after sampling everything. I got the pork (lechon) with the bitter-melon beans and rice, and the misses got the vegetable curry with pork (lechon). Out the door for about $11 for 2 people. Not bad. I was told to come back on Saturday when they are suppose to have more dishes (about 20, said the chef) - Can't wait to go back. As for Filipino food, it's an infusion of lots of different cultures, Chinese, Spanish, you'd be surprised. It's kind of like Thai food but less spicy, some of the dishes are very healthy, while some like the lechon, will take years off your life - so only eat it maybe once a week.

MARIA G.

Yelp
I thought I wrote a review on Tita Evelyn's place, and I was mistaken! I finally ventured to this gem over one month ago, and I have become a weekly patron. This is a filipino grocery store but there is a takeout section that you must enjoy. For 2 sides and a healthy portion of rice, it's about $6. If you've never eaten there (or tried filipino food), she will let you sample. Tita Evelyn is so friendly! She is always wearing a different cooking hat which makes me laugh every time! If you want genuine filipino hospitality & food, then go here & leave with a full belly & a smile on your face! Note: This place is only open Wed-Sun from 10-5 pm so plan your schedule accordingly. Another note: Thursdays she serves french cuisine.

Penny R.

Yelp
Worst service I have ever received. Or not received, should I say. My husband and I went in on a Saturday morning to get a few things - just snacks from the shelves rather than prepared food. There were a few people in there waiting for food, which was not ready yet. We had 4 items and were ready to pay, but the man behind the desk just stood around waiting, I guess for the cook to finish the food. However, in that time he could have easily and quickly rung up our few items. But okay, no big deal. So we waited...and waited..and waited over 15 minutes. While the man VERY slowly wrapped each persons food as it was eventually being brought out...standing around doing nothing but chatting between each transactions. Others were coming and getting their food rung up and leaving. All the time we were stood, ready to hand over our money, but not once did a single employee even glance at us, or acknowledge our existence. Instead they spent the whole time chatting away to their friends/regular customers. After over 15 minutes of patiently waiting and being COMPLETELY ignored as others came and went, we were absolutely furious and walked out. Never in my life have I ever been into a store with staff that come across as being so rude, offering the worst service I have seen. We were intending on being regular customers after discovering this place carries our favourite snacks, but I will never step foot in here again.

Jstdane A.

Yelp
I recently moved few blocks away from this grocery...and i am telling you that the food was delicious!! But the best experience for me...was the warmth of the people inside. The owner Ms. Evelyn is a lovely person so nice that she let me taste few things before buying. The husband of the owner also is a very nice guy. The owner cooked everything she sells even the kakanin (desserts, snacks ). Few grocery items inside and prices are also reasonable. I definitely will go back there again :)

Lan T.

Yelp
I've been waiting to go to this place for years, but every time I try to go there, it's closed! I ordered the 2 item combo, which comes with rice or pancit for 50 cents more. I got it with roasted lechon and mungo beans. I ordered it to go because I had to get back to work. The food smelled soooo good, I pulled over to the side and started eating. The lechon was one of the juiciest, flavorful cuts of lechon I ever had! The skin had the perfect crisp to it! The mungo was absolutely delicious! I also ordered an ensamada. It was in my bag, and after a few hours, I found the wrapper on the floor.....dogs are looking sooo guilty right now!!!

Wonderful mom and pop grocery /food /catering shop. The food bar has seasonal veggies and usually two types of meat dish. Empanadas and buns are freshly baked. I love their lunch box and desserts. It's home cooked style at its best. There may be a bit of wait especially during prime lunch time, but seriously...it's like going to your relatives house (the cool ones). There's no rush, just enjoy the food. If you need something, ask the owners, they're not there to wait on you. For anyone who complains about speed or wait time (5-10 mins really isn't much), you're just not getting the spirit of this place.

Yelp
Great authentic food. Had lechon, sinigang, ensaymada, and lumpia. All delicious, and the owners are so nice

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Filipino dishes, this is the place!!! Chef Evelyn is truly a hands-on chef and you're always assured of the superb quality and gastronomically satisfying taste you won't find anywhere else. This place is also the friendliest in town! :)

Yelp
My favorite Filipino store in restaurant. I grew up eating Filipino cuisine, and I would say this is some of the best Filipino food I've ever had (even taking into account Filipino food I've had in the Philippines). Evelyn is an amazing chef. I've tried her pancit, sisig (the best), tinola, lumpia, lechon, etc. They are very generous with portions, and I definitely recommend to anyone! The desserts in the fridge are amazing as well!

Yelp
Aside from the Filipino groceries and hot food, this is where I come to order whole lechon (whole roasted pig) for my family and business parties. Authentic Filipino food! It's not a regular sit-down restaurant. It's a grocery store, with hot Filipino food available to take out.

Yelp
This little store/eatery is awesome! Tita Evelyn cooks the best authentic filipino food! I've noticed that she cuts down on oil which is just the best, since we all know some filipino dishes can get a bit greasy. The baked goods and desserts are delicious! I love the pan de ube and her hopias are warm and flakey. The cassava cake is to die for!Her pinakbet is wonderful, maybe even better than mom's! I'm glad I stopped by here and see myself visiting frequently in the future. note:she will be out of town until Oct 18 (2015) so the store will also be closed until then.

Yelp
Wonderfully delicious! I had the most amazing lunch this past Thursday. Chef Evelyn is an accomplished chef who prepares comfort food with a healthful approach. Shrimp soup with tamarind, greens, and baby eggplant. Lemon ginger chicken with fresh ginger.

Yelp
I moved to the area recently and had been missing so home cooked Filipino meals. I stopped by this little market and it was such a treat! Amazing lechon, beef steak, and lumpia! The lady was so friendly too and offered to let me try anything before I ordered it. I will definitely be a regular! The only downside is they run out of food pretty quickly so I would go right when they start serving lunch. Worth it!

Yelp
I love tita evelyn! My husband's family has gone to this little grocery store/ take out filipino food place for almost 30 years and I highly recommend it. It's a small place, but I go almost every week. Tita Evelyn is a cordon bleu trained chef, and she cooks healthy and delicious food Filipino food. It's not the greasy Filipino food that is normal in this area. She has a column in the Manila Mail and hosts a tv show in maryland cable access. (I even attended her show once!) She catered my baby shower, I ordered pancit, chicken wings, egg rolls and even a mocha cake. My husband's all time favorite is her menudo. I am from California so I know good Filipino food.... I am sad that she is going on vacation next week, I wanted to use her for my baby's first bday.

Yelp
In a metro area where the majority of Filipino restaurants serve food that is too greasy, too fatty and generally just average turo-turo food, this place is the best I've found. Tita Evelyn makes some of the best dinuguan I've ever had. She cooks up to 20 different dishes on any given day, and it's much healthier than you'll find anywhere around - and I've been to everywhere around. The market itself is somewhat small, so you won't find a huge selection of other items, like bakery items or meats. But you will find good Filipino food, and even as much balut as you can stomach. And Tita Evelyn is by far the friendliest Filipino store owner around.

Yelp
I saw the yelp for Philippine Oriental Market and decided to try it. I came on the later side (1:30 pm), but they still had food available. They gave me a sampler platter with so many delicious dishes and didn't even charge me. I order lunch for the next day so I didn't feel guilty (and it would me more delicious food the next day). They also gave me 2 free deserts. I highly recommend you come for a visit.
