"A really appealing restaurant in the Schanzenviertel neighbourhood. A few steps lead down to this lively, modern establishment on the lower ground floor, where friendly and dedicated waitstaff serve fresh international cuisine. Tip: Be sure to make a reservation – this place is small and extremely popular!" - Michelin Inspector
This place absolutely exceeded all my expectations! It was a true pleasure to enjoy fine dining level food for very reasonable prices in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Food. Firstly we were offered appetizers/compliment, and the dips were not similar to anything I ever tried. Then I went for ceviche, bisque and crème brûlée. Bisque and dessert had a very delicate classic taste, delicious. And ceviche was amazing: ideal marinade perfectly balanced with orange and celery.
Atmosphere: very cozy! Our table was isolated in a cute hidden corner, so that we could enjoy the dinner and conversation with no disturbance.
Service. Polite and friendly personnel, special thanks for a good wine recommendation.

A very cosy restaurant with lots of tables hidden away in nooks and crannies. Our table was in the back room and felt quite private despite being in the open room.
The service was outstanding, informal, but attentive and very knowledgeable. One of our party had a gluten intolerance and was well taken care of.
The food was excellent, a simple menu with just a few items, but all done very well. I went for the backsaibling followed by the lamb. Both were delicious, but the lamb was tender and full of flavor.
Overall a very special evening.

A fabulous find in Hamburg. The four course set menu is the tip at €59 a head. This is modern European cuisines served well for a good price. The interior is all nooks and crannies and very private. The service is discrete, friendly, good humoured and attentive. The wine list isn’t extensive but well curated; we went for a Rioja at ca. €60 that was excellent. All in all a superb evening of dining. You can pay by card and a reservation is advised, easily made online from their website.

I had an amazing dinner with my fiancé here. The food and pairing wine are excellent. Their home made breads are superb! Here you will have the best food you can for what you paid. We will definitely come back!

We had an amazing experience at Philipps! The venison was incredibly tender and the ox cheeks melted in your mouth. Dessert (Almond orange mousse) was light and delicious. Our server recommended the perfect wines for each of our dishes to beautifully round our meal.

Very good restaurant situated in the lovely
Karolinenviertel neighborhood. It’s a bit hidden but it’s very cozy inside. Food is a little on the pricey side and portions were small, but the quality of the food is amazing. I would recommend the burrata – one of the best I’ve ever had. Service was very good. They didn’t have English menus yet but our waitress was very friendly and helpful. At the start you get some nice different sorts of bread – and they even got us a small complementary aperitif with fish and avocado mousse, which was delicious.

Yelp
Great friendly, lively atmosphere, staff was nice, efficient and professional.
That being said, food and wines were quite decent, certainly no complaints, but given reputation and prices I had expected food quality and level of flavors to be one notch more exquisite, tbh.

Yelp
One of the best food I ever experienced in Germany. I hosted a group of 12 and the service was excellent. I rarely write a review and if I do they are because some place was really bad. This place is great.

Yelp
This was a very good eating experience at a very reasonable price for a competitive high end menu in a friendly ambience. We sampled all the appetizers, I was especially taken by the grilled calamari and the ceviche, not too crazy about the tatar. Fellows at my table had the dorade and the risotto with prawns and I heard good things about those as well. I went for the raised ochsenbacke which are the butt cheeks of the ox. That was a delightful piece of meat, extremely tender and flavorful, with a green mash potato better than any mash potato i have had. Their creme brulee is worth a try. Service was a bit slow.

Yelp
A really nice little restaurant with high end cuisine. Friendly and relaxed with superb food. I chose the surprise menu, since i couldnt decide which of the delicies to pick. Super friendly waitress, and a dedicated chef who several times came to the table himself. Not overprised at all, and well worth the visit.
