My review for Phillips Toy Mart is long overdue. Growing up I used to spend my summers in Nashville and since my grandparents lived right down the street from Phillips Toy Mart, I often passed by it, but I never got to visit the place. That was until I moved up here and visited the store for the first time. They have everything! Models, toy trains (with a working model train system), games, and unique toys you won't find anywhere else. However, for me I have gone there for the model making supplies.
When I moved up here, I was very much into Eureka Seven and I even hunted down, purchased and assembled all four models that I could find on ebay. As part of assembling them, I also had to paint them. Easy no? Not exactly, you see as all 4 of these models were imports from Japan, the assembly instructions, and even the paint charts were in Japanese. So I had to guess what colors I needed, matching them the best I could with the swatches in the assembly instructions. The wonderful staff at Phillips Toy Mart not only helped me find everything I needed to assemble and paint the models, but even helped me color match the colors to their wide variety of model paints. Then when I had finished assembling and painting all the models, they helped me find a place that sold cases that could fit them for display purposes.
The customer service here is wonderful, and the selection is wide and varied. About the only thing they don't carry are video games, but I have another mom n pop store I frequent for that. Be that as it may, Phillips Toy Mart has been and always will be my first stop for model making supplies, toys and games for all ages. Now if only they carried some Japanese import models.
