"Look for the newest location at 1811 JFK Boulevard, Inquirer.com reports. The upcoming eatery on JFK is replacing a Square One Coffee, which closes at the end of the month. Inquirer.com reports that unlike the others, which are focused on takeout, this Philly Bagels will be a bigger cafe with a pickle bar." - Rachel Vigoda

These other reviews are tripping - I’m SO happy that I found this place in my neighborhood!! The bagels are brought in fresh every morning 7am from South Philly. Staff was so nice, bagels were well toasted AND not $15 per breakfast sandwich. We bought a dozen bagels and ordered three breakfast sandwiches - all SUPER well priced and delicious. Thank you, Philly Bagels! (

Excellent bagel sandwich and very nice staff. I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews since my experience was so good..

Honestly we were so surprised about how good the sandwiches were. The service was great. The bagels were very tasty. It is a must if you are in Philadelphia.

I recently visited **Philly Bagels** and had a fantastic experience! The customer service was super friendly, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I ordered the **bacon, egg, and cheese hot hunny bagel**, and it was absolutely delicious! The bagel was hot, fresh, and perfectly made. The combination of the savory bacon and egg with the sweet and spicy hot honey was amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their bagels. If you're in the area, **Philly Bagels** is a must-visit for a great breakfast!

The staff is one of the most welcoming and friendly person I ever met in a bagel shop! Thanks for your kindness and positivity :)

Google
Honestly, this is the jalapeño cheddar bagel of my dreams, and even better, they make it a breakfast sandwich ☺ service is extremely friendly, prices are great, and if my first sentence wasn't clear enough, the food is delicious. I highly (highly) recommend visiting

Google
Prices are outrageous. $2.25 for a gluten free bagel that was frozen and non edible. Seriously, I couldn’t swallow it. It was like eating sawdust in the shape of a bagel. Go 1/2 block up JFK to Kennedy Market. They are $1.25

Great bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Friendly service and great value. We hit it on the way to Franklin Institute and we were very happy we skipped Starbucks

Yelp
This place is just okay. It's convenient but I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. A little pricey for what you get but the espresso drinks were really good - better than the bagels. The pork roll, egg, and cheese came with only one slice of pork roll and one slice of cheese. There's seating inside and the place looks pretty big. Staff and service were courteous.

Yelp
My personal experience here was good! I didn't see any roaches and the staff was friendly. Ordered some breakfast sandwiches on the phone and it was ready for pickup in 15. Food was solid. Plenty of egg and bacon. Bagels weren't stale. I also got their veggie cream cheese and while it was good I can't help but compare to Bart's which has huge veggie chunks and is the best!!

Yelp
Had to get our bagels on in Philly. Stopped here for some good treats, and I was a happy camper. I wanted a Onion flavored bagel with cream cheese and all. I even sometime love the strawberry like spread on my bagels too. Not necessarily like a jelly type product. Our first time here, The bagels are daily fresh bread made. Nice staff and good coffee too. I will be coming back.

Yelp
The services was quick and the workers were very nice. We came in with a larger group and they got all of our food out very fast. The prices were quite good too, the bagel I got was $10 and I couldn't even finish it. The food was DELICIOUS I enjoyed every bit and would definitely recommend for a quick and delicious breakfast. You should definitely go for the hot honey bagel.

Yelp
Quirky spot! I was super hungry after yoga and decided to stop in here on my walk home without looking at any reviews. They were "closing" at 1:30 when I walked in even though the hours on the door said they were open until 3pm. Not sure if that's because they were low on stock or what, but maybe call ahead if you're looking for an afternoon pick me up. The staff here was super sweet though, and did offer me bagels to take home which I turned down. After some back and forth I went with an everything bagel tuna melt. They sent me on my way and I sat down on a bench in Logan square, opened up my bagel sam to find it open faced and verrrrrrrry sad looking. Unfortunately it was even sadder tasting. I make much better tuna at home, and the bagel itself was borderline stale - super chewy and mealy. I took three bites and tossed the rest, feeling a little bagel betrayed, arguably the worst kind of betrayal there is. This is a great location and I hope my experience was a one off. Unfortunately too many great sammich spots nearby to necessitate another trip for me, but I am sure they do great business with the City Fitness coffee folks no matter what.

Yelp
Always fast and the bagels are top-notch. That's all I wanted to say but Yelp says I need to have at least 85 characters. Rob is cool, cheerful and reassuring to greet each day in a world now that I'd rather stay in bed for.

Shelley G.

Yelp
The bagels are good when I can get them. My friend went there to grab lunch for me but they were out of the bagel I wanted so he said he'd return. When he was there they had several bagels in the case. Fast forward 25 minutes and they yelled "sold out" and practically shoved him out the door! I've got to find another business to get bagels from in that area because the customer service there is too bad to ignore. *Update I tried to get a bagel today at 2:30 but the girl turned the sign around to "closed" and locked the door as soon as I put my foot on the last step.

Yelp
I always go to the Philly Bagels Location on Locust Street (Philadelphia)! I love to have the Jalapeno bagel with honey pecan cream cheese toasted!!! Yum Yum:) Besides, me receiving this delicious bagel, I always receive awesome service! Rob is passionate with the service he provides. #teewiththekey

Yelp
honestly this place is crazy good and reasonably priced. they have a super good iced chai and the hot honey bagel is also pretty great. I'll be back! def recommend for a fast breakfast in center city!

Louisa E.

Yelp
This is for the location at 1507 Locust Street Philadelphia, PA. Greg and Rob are professional employees. I came close to closing time and treated me wonderfully. They are great employees and the people love the bagels.

Devon M.

Yelp
I'm almost certain that the management of "Philly Bagels" tells their employees to skimp on the cream cheese on all their bagels. I have tried both the Fitzwater St and JFK location and it's the same thing every time-- ordering a bagel with cream cheese, opening the bagel, and seeing the thinnest layer of cream cheese on one side and absolutely nothing on the other. The everything bagels are so good but I'm not spending money to eat them dry. I feel like this 'chain' won't last much longer compared to places like Kismet and Spread that actually load up on their bagels and sandwiches.

Sable S.

Yelp
I went here on a Tuesday morning around 9:15. There was no line and 2 other people waiting for their food. I was quickly greeted at the front and the gentleman took my order. He didn't write it down, but the girl behind him was going to make it, so he asked her if she heard my order (I knew she only heard part of it). I waited 8 minutes until my order was ready. The bagel was great, but my bagel wasn't toasted or buttered like I asked. I'll probably return because it was good, but I'll likely make sure the actual maker hears all my order. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel= $6.75

This girl smiles a.

Yelp
These bagels are amazing. The everything bagels are my absolute fave! I highly recommend

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Their bagel sandwiches are definitely better than just getting a bagel with cream cheese. I was just really disappointed because they compared themselves to a Manhattan bagel, but it was nowhere near the crunchy outside and soft chewy inside of a NY bagel. I was super disappointed with the lox cream cheese on a whole wheat everything bagel. My friend got the caprice sandwich on a bagel and loved that they used a thick slice of fresh mozz. The iced coffee they have is really good! They also sell whole coffee beans here.

Bob B.

Yelp
I waited 25 mins for my bagel, and there were only 2 other customers. Bagels were just ok and skimpy on the cream cheese.

S H.

Yelp
Quick service Convenient location Good food Not for a gourmand but decent everyday stuff

Ashley R.

Yelp
I'd maybe go 2.5-3 stars. For what you get it's very very over priced. $7 for a bagel with bacon and egg on it is ridiculous. Sometimes the bagels are really good. Other times they are very stale. Sometimes the bacon tastes good and other ones the bacon tastes old and almost like it has a refrigerator taste to it (as if the bacon was kept somewhere prior to cooking and absorbed the flavor). They never stay open the hours they say they will and almost always close early. If you get there an hour and a half before closing you SHOULD be okay.

Michael D.

Yelp
This place is not reliable. They make their own hours, especially on the weekends. I've walked over multiple times before their advertised 3pm closing and it's been closed. The service is also very underwhelming. I've revceived the wrong order multiple times and it takes forever to get my order even when the foot traffic is low. Very disappointing given the bagels are actually good. I will now walk out of my way to go to shmear it or spread. Will no longer going to this place.

Fiona Z.

Yelp
there was a roach crawling on the everything bagels. 3 people working and only one attending the customers (only person doing their job lol). bagels are so-so, pretty decent but not great. definitely overpriced for what you're getting.

Jigna P.

Yelp
Philly bagels opened up a spot on JFK and 18th Street. My husband and I got our usual (egg and cheese on everything and bacon egg and cheese on a jalepeno cheddar bagel) and they were great. The eggs here are scrambled as opposed to over easy as they are at the chestnut street location but definitely still good! The bagels are soft and fresh everyday and they do have a great spread selection. Definitely worth checking out.

Alan W.

Yelp
Really difficult ordering system. The website says to call to order ahead for pickup but they don't list the phone number and once you find it, no one answers. Menu items on Caviar don't match items on the website. Signs at the door say order on GrubHub but GrubHub says they don't have a relationship with the restaurant. JFK store employees aren't super friendly. Good part was food prep is pretty quick. Food is OK. Recommend trying other places.

Yelp
Saturday morning: stale bagel. Eggs were cold, service was meh. Imagine being able to get a good bagel in Center City. Oh well...

Patrick S.

Yelp
Not the best, but not bad. Didn't have to wait in line on a Sunday. Fast service. Outdoor seating.

Jordan V.

Yelp
Great bagels and spreads. Their garlic cream cheese is strong and tasty. It is definitely underated. Found my new spot!

Kathy E.

Yelp
I only tried it because it popped up as a new option on my Ritual app. I was torn between all the great combos they have on bagels. I choose the western club sandwich with the spicy artichoke cream cheese. Yummy! Great flavors and perfect for brunch time. I cant wait to try the Hot Honey sandwich next.

Yelp
The 5th location of the rebranded-yet-still-generically-named "Philly Bagels" has opened on JFK. This is much more spacious than the Chestnut Street location and offers several tables and a bar area for seating. The menu looks similar to the other locations and offers a dependably decent bagel with just the right amount of cream cheese.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Great bagels, sandwiches and service. Have been going since they opened years ago and have always been thrilled with the food and service. Breakfast sandwiches are the best.

Marty P.

Yelp
I've been to this place 3 times this week. Each time I was very happy with what I got. The breakfast Sammy is superb. The ingredients were fresh, tasty, and the bagel was great. 5 stars. Service could be faster, but they just opened and are working on getting into the groove. I also tried calling ahead for my order for pick up but no one answered the phone over an hour. 3 stars. Thus, averaged to 4 stars and I would happily return.

Lenny B.

Yelp
Poor quality bagels. Ordered online and unavailable items were switched out without telling me.

Maria G.

Yelp
JFK location is very clean always, customer service is superb, the small blond hair Spanish female worker always welcomes customers with a enthusiastic personality, she is very friendly and goes way and beyond.

Alison V.

Yelp
This is the 3rd time I've visited this location and ordered a bagel "double toasted". Each of the three times, when my order is ready, it is called out "everything bagel toasted dark". Each time I open my bag at my office, the bagel has obviously no toasted dark (and probably toasted for about 1 minute- it is barely toasted, let alone toasted dark - or toasted twice, as I specifically request). Fortunately, I can grab a bagel at the Old Nelson next door, or DiBruno's and toast it as I like - or go to Spread Bagelry and have it prepared the people who work there the way I order. With these other options, Philly Bagels will no longer have my business at any location.

Molly D.

Yelp
Leaves a lot to be desired.... bagel was so lightly toasted I would call it still cold. The everything tasted of mostly poppy and not much else. Personal preference, wrap hot bagels in tin foil. Bonus point for having a non-dairy milk option.

Ellen T.

Yelp
This is a new location of an established brand, but they need to get the kinks worked out. I usually to to OCF in Fairmont, but the half marathon caused street closures, so I decided to try Philly Bagels. The location is much bigger than Chestnut Street, so dine in is a nice option. It's also new, so very clean and bright. However, there was a mistake in my order. It was easy to understand how what I said could be misinterpreted, but I didn't figure out the order was incorrect until I got all the way home. I walked back and the item was replaced and the staff was polite throughout, but instead of just saying sorry, handing me the new item and either returning the difference I was owed (or giving me another bagel to make up it), they explained (very politely) how what I said led to the mistake. No way for them to know this, but I wasn't feeling 100% and I just wanted to get in and out. Mistakes happen all the time. How they are handled makes a big difference.
