"This east Vancouver strip mall staple is entering its third decade on the strength of its commitment to quality ingredients, simply and reliably prepared. The first place in the region to use Philly’s famous Amoroso’s rolls for its cheesesteaks, Philly Bilmos offers classic cheesesteaks, as well as loaded (with mushrooms and peppers), pizza (with pizza sauce and parm), or “the Bilmo” (with lettuce and tomatoes). While primarily a lunch spot, Bilmos is open until 8 p.m. for those looking to grab a quick dinner on the commute home." - Nathan Williams

Google
What a fantastic find! First, I love supporting local independent places so I am thrilled we found Philly Bilmos. With my hometown being New Jersey and knowing the owner is also from Jersey, I’m thrilled to have a cheesesteak and hoagie shop in Vancouver who knows what the real sandwiches are supposed to be and makes them even better. I went for the cheesesteak and let me tell you, the bread is fresh and soft, perfect! The steak was diced up just right with the cheese melted into it, the peppers (banana and cherry peppers) made the sandwich delicious! The meat must be good quality as well because the sandwich was not dripping in grease and it tasted very good also. And then there are the homemade cannolis, reminiscent of Italian bakeries in South Philly! Wow, just wow…so yummy! Since they are homemade there are not a lot prepared at one time. You may have to go back for those if they’re out, ohhh so worth it! The Philly Bilmos staff are super pleasant too, making this first time experience amazing and for sure this will be my go to! Plenty of seating inside too. Thank you Philly Bilmos! All that’s needed is a 2025 Super Bowl Championship photo for the wall. Funny enough I didn’t get a photo of the food because I couldn’t stop eating long enough to take it!!

Google
Finally got to try this place and wow these are really really good! I would 100% recommend this place but the only con to this place is the price. It is very pricey so be ready to spend a good bit here! But other than that the food is very good and I can’t wait to come back!!!

J M

Google
Not far off the freeway, great loaded sandwiches, I got the Italian which was delicious, and my partner got the Philly cheese steak and said it was better than they had in Philly. Bit spendy but great if you wanna splurge on true deli sandwich. Great variety of hot and cold sandwiches and Philly cheese steak varieties. Variety cooler of drinks including local beer and cider

Google
We travel for a living and can't find a very good Philly. This place knocked it outta the park. We got the motz sticks, 8" traditional Philly with shrooms and cheese fries. Everything was delicious!

Michael Key

Google
A good variety of sandwiches and sides but their cornerstone are Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. The meat has a really great flavor. Bilmos cost a few bucks more than most but they plenty of fans who feel it's worth it. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. -VanPort Insider✌🏼

Google
I didn’t know this sub shop. Recently I saw the reviews and tried to eat it. And I love Philly cheesesteak sandwich traditional. Seasoning soaked steaks. So yummy, juicy and delicious. Shop is very cute and small but they have tables. Staffs are kind, friendly and generous people. But 16inches 25bucks plus tax and tips so I spend 29 - 30bucks. And fries aren’t included the sandwich. You must order separately.

Google
So we got the fully loaded phillys they were superb! The meat is tender and rich with flavor there was a spicy sauce we used on the side it was a yellow color and it added the perfect kick to this sub. I didn't go inside but from the outside it looks like there's plenty of tables and chairs for customers to dine in. Friday evenings are busy busy busy. It's best to come here for lunch.

Google
Great food great customer service. Authentic Philly cheesesteak you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
okay a few mixed reviews... been here a bunch of times and really good "Phillies"... without a doubt the best in the Couve... chili cheese fries terrific, a total heart stopper... service appropriate to the style of the restaurant... hell, this isn't the Hilton give 'em a break... this place gets busy... go early or late, the "wiches" are made by hand-on a grill-by people-one at a time! MIDDLE OF THE LUNCH HOUR WITH 4 TO 6 PEOPLE FUGGETABOUTIT! Philly Bilmo's is a Vancouver icon and gawd bless 'em! Hell, ain't no one perfect all day every day...

Eric A.

Yelp
The prices are premium and the product is worth it. For a good baseline, get the traditional cheesesteak. You're probably gonna want the full size unless you like the feeling of wishing you had more. The fries are really good too. A medium feels like a large. I DO NOT recommend ordering food to go or for delivery. Just order it when you get there. It's a pretty juicy sando and it's going to be soggy by the time you get to eat it if it's not right away.

Bianca J.

Yelp
The Philly's here are some of the best in the area since Portland is a bit of a drive. Their food is consistently good and their fries taste better than a lot of fries I've ever had! Just something about them is so yum!! Also, that mango habanero hot sauce they make, don't sleep on that and definitely get it!! It's delicious and don't know how I ate anything without it! I did have the hot dog with chilli and cheese and wasn't as excited about that. The hot dog, although a good brand, not my fave and the chili needs a lot more flavor!! However, I highly recommend this place!

Michael K.

Yelp
Always solid. Super friendly each and every time. The hot sauce goes a long way and is tasty.

Rick G.

Yelp
Nice people. Not nice food. Meh... I heard great things maybe I caught them on an off day. I'm not sure how to explain the cheesesteak other than bland.

Jeff W.

Yelp
Phenomenal cheese steak and chili cheese fries. You will not go wrong at this place. The loaded steak cheesesteak has a small bite of great toppings and in this. cheesesteak. The mango honey hot sauce is a wonderful and not to be missed if you are into hot stuff. I'll be there prolly 2 more times before I leave at the end of week. Do not pass this place. Love it. Forgot to talk about the staff. They are very nice and helpful. This is a great place for all important things, food and service.

Karrisa L.

Yelp
Great subs. Delicious sauces. Fresh ingredients. I go here at least once a month. Highly recommend

Lea G.

Yelp
This is an update. Been coming here for years and I am never disappointed by their food. Today I picked up. Delicious sandwich. The people working there are awesome and on it! They have beer or or fun sodas. My husband loves their Philly cheesesteak. Today I got the hot pastrami! Yum Yum

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Amazing. Authentic Philly Cheesesteak in Vancouver, WA. I knew I was heading for something special when I read they get Asmorosa's bread from Philly. I was thrilled when I took my first bite and felt like I was back visiting Philadelphia. This is the real deal. If you want to experience a real cheesesteak without flying across the country, this is your place! Here is a video review by my brother and I. https://youtu.be/j815a4SmhFw

Noal R.

Yelp
Decided to give them another try. It was the same as before only this time it was the manager. He was training a new employee and was very rude to the person. We order a couple cheesesteaks and fries. Fries were cold and sandwiches were so small. Hardly anything on them. Just a lot of bread. Then the fun started with the manager talking out loud how the young generation has ruined the country and especially the "gays." I fumed. We walked out and will never support again.

Eli I.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak and pastrami in Vancouver. Boars head deli meat. Bread is soft and spongy. Fries cooked fresh with good crisp. Extra tasty pickles on the side. All the condiments you need and even a special sweet/spicy sauce if you want. Super accommodating and friendly staff.

Sean B.

Yelp
Plenty of great sandwiches (chicken loaded Bilmo) and fries are delicious. Friendly staff

Scott L.

Yelp
Not as amazing as Grants but good. Their roll needs a little more love in it. Their eggplant parm sandwich was great.

Jason O.

Yelp
The cannoli is absolutely delicious, it is big enough to spit with a person and both will enjoy it, definitely get one to eat after your done with their sandwich!!

Mishy B.

Yelp
Incredible! It's very rare for me to rate a cheesesteak 5 stars-- even IN Philly. I am in Philadelphia several times a year for work, and have spent a lot of time in the NE over the past decade tasting different cheesesteaks (because it's my favorite sandwich). I believe there is a formula to a great cheesesteak; one that Philly Bilmos has mastered! 1. The Bread. Amoroso rolls reign supreme. The fact that they prioritize this enough to get them shipped in from Philadelphia gave me confidence in their overall product. 2. The steak. A good cheesesteak should be juicy, not dry! Never dry. Grab some extra napkins and eat it fast! 3. The construction. Like another reviewer said, every bite was perfect. The ratio of meat to bread was correct. When you ship your bread in from across the country, it deserves as much reverence as the meat! Today I ordered the traditional with steak and onions and added hot cherry peppers. I was by myself and tried very hard to look nonchalant, but my eyes were rolling into the back of my head as I ate my sandwich a little too quickly. I can't wait to come back! Also, a note on prices... they're comparable to *current* (not "I remember in '97 cheesesteaks were $5") Philly prices. My favorite Philadelphia sandwich joint Dalessandro's sells their cheesesteaks for around $13, John's Roast Pork's cheesesteaks are $12.50, Ishkabibble's are $12, Tony & Nicks (new name from the original Tony Luke's off Oregon Ave) are $10.50. And pretty sure none of those places need to get their amoroso rolls imported cross country.

Rowie T.

Yelp
Excellent cheesesteaks and delicious fries - the rolls are truly "Philly"! Fast, friendly and efficient customer service.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Hands down the best cheese steak I have ever eaten! Granted, I am born and raised in the west coast, and have never had one in Philly, but I would put this sandwich up against anything out east! There I said it. Friendly staff, cheesy fries, amazing sandwiches. I go for the steak bilmos, no tomatoes, add banana peppers. It's the best! Word to the wise, eat your sandwich fresh! They are cheesy and meaty and messy and good

Sierra S.

Yelp
I was in the area and saw this place had really good reviews but I did not like the sandwich. The customer service was great but I took my sandwich to go. From when I left and ate my sandwich at work, it had been in the bag for maybe 12 minutes. I had so much trouble unwrapping it without everything falling onto my car seat. Half of the filling was outside the sandwich in the wrapping and the bread was so soggy it was falling apart in my hands and I hadn't even taken a bite yet. By the time I got halfway through my sandwich it was much and it started to get all over my car. I didn't end up finishing it because it was too much of a mess.

Natalie C.

Yelp
Yum. Yum. Yum. The end. Actually, yelp requires more words, so I'll just reiterate how delicious this place is.

Sisco V.

Yelp
Bilmos has really good cheesesteak if you want something fast they have great customer service

Tiffany R.

Yelp
My new place to go for Philly. I like the loaded and regular sub without the lettuce. There's a little bit of everything on the menu cold and hot. Mozzarella sticks and cheese fries. 3 8 in subs and cheesy fries was $50 ish so a lot more than subway but much more tasty.

Marie M.

Yelp
We came by on a busy afternoon before the holidays. They have the best Cheesesteaks in the area, and watching the manager and team today - they also have some of the best customer service. Every customer was welcomed coming in, food came out quickly, meals delivered to the table, and the manager checked in with seated customers to see if they needed everything else. Thanks!

Kathy E.

Yelp
Huge, yummy, gooey steak sandwiches. Great fries. Greasy goodness in every bite! I'll be going again soon.

Mike S.

Yelp
I have only been here once and I was impressed. Had the classic philly. Was definitely the best cheese steak I have had in the portland vancouver area. Took a friend there who has been to philly several times, and he thought this place was better than any cheese steaks he had in Philadelphia. The service was friendly. They also make a hot sauce that is amazing. It was so good i bought a bottle to take home. Definitely check out this spot if you like philly cheese steaks.

Tim O.

Yelp
Great sandwiches , NOT REASONABLE PRICE WISE , other wise I'd go couple days a week .... Really never seen any coupons or weekly deals ever... it's a try once place decide for yourself!

Sean M.

Yelp
Great food and service. Last minute order filled with a smile. Craving the eggplant parm again.

Aleathia S.

Yelp
The staff member who took my order was outstanding. She was patient and kind. She was knowledgeable and my order was made to perfection. The meat is definitely seasoned. I ordered a cheesesteak with red and green peppers, grilled onions, meat, cheese, ketchup, and mayo. They will make your order to your liking. I also ordered a chili cheese dog. There was a national cheesesteak discount of $8 for today. I made it a meal and my total was $24. I gave a tip and maxed out at $28. The large sandwich came in two sandwiches. I have enough for lunch and the other I will have for dinner. I guys that worked out. I would go back to try other menu items too. This place seems to get it right.

Samantha W.

Yelp
I ordered 2 cheese steaks with extra meat . One had mushrooms and onions and the other was plain. Both of us felt the Meat had no flavor. Not even salt and pepper. It had a good texture it was tender. The bread was soft and the grilled veggies were good. We will probably try some of their non cheese steak sandwiches because the menu looks fantastic. The sandwiches are a good size and service was good. So hopefully their pastrami and the roast pork sandwiches taste as good as they sound

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Delicious Philly cheesesteak every time! I always get the traditional and cheese fries and I am never disappointed. The people working there are always nice too.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak west of the Mississippi. Nuff said. Well apparently not nuff said, because it was 32 characters short. Let's try that again. Nuff said.

Robert K.

Yelp
Well I have been here before and wanted to give it another try. I got the beef cheesesteak with peppers and onions along with a coke and fries. The cost close to $15.00. I grew up working at a philly steak cheese restaurant and I think I know what a cheesesteak should taste like. I guess I just don't understand that when you bite into a cheesesteak that there is a gravy in it. Which it is very sloppy. Also the peppers I got were like pepperoncini peppers which is really not that great in a cheesesteak sandwich. When I made steakcheese sandwiches I made it with cold shaved top sirloin steak, fresh onions, mushrooms and green peppers with provolone cheese on top. This place make me want to open up my own steakcheese sandwich shop just to show them what a real philly steakcheese sandwich is like. Oh well, amazing how this place has been open since 2000.

George H.

Yelp
Best Philly west of Philadelphia, great sandwiches very nice people and military discount

Grrrrrrrrrrr G.

Yelp
This place is ridiculously expensive I come from Philadelphia I can show you an existing menu from an open restaurant that sells 7 inch cheesesteaks for seven dollars. Bilmos 16 inch cheesesteaks 25 bucks you can keep it!!! You can get nine hamburgers at Wendy's for that $25 three triples or FIVE 5 whole roasted chickens at Costco oh and by the way all their sandwiches are $25. They're just greedy GO TO JERSEY MIKES SAME SIZE STEAK $17

Bong J.

Yelp
If you are craving for a Philly cheese steak sandwich, you came to the right place. This place is so good. Their sandwich is better than some spots in Philadelphia, no lie. Their hot sauce is amazing. Bring a bottle home so you won't regret it.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Order is always correct and hot! These fries are our favorite around. Most of the time we get the Philly's, but lately my husband has been getting the chicken tenders and he likes those a lot. Only thing I can knock them for is charging for banana peppers

Kelly P.

Yelp
The service was awesome! Very friendly and helpful crew. My first time here out of recommendations from family and friends. The Traditional did not disappoint at all. Great Philly sandwich. A bit pricy but I would splurge to get this one again. I have already bragged to friends.

Timmi R.

Yelp
Never again. The food was cold and falling apart no napkins. I've had philllys before for much less with way higher quality. Now I'm stuck at work with nothing to eat cause this mess is not workplace acceptable

Ralph S.

Yelp
Service, food ...all in all a good place to grab lunch. It's a little kiss of Philly in the Couve.

Bari S.

Yelp
So disappointed. It has been a while since I was here and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately I won't be back. I spent $99 and went home with about half my order. Shame on me for not checking. Fries were not cooked all the way and they forgot the cheese. Ordered 2 large and 2 reg sandwiches but only came home with 4 regulars. When paying $20+ for a sandwich I should get the full sandwich. This post is 2 fold - 1st check your order before you leave and 2nd to the staff, I know you are busy but pay attention. People will wait knowing the food is good and right.

Dan G.

Yelp
I've never been to Philly, but I guess I gotta trust this is the real deal. An honest review...it was alright; tasty. Although, it was a bit spendy for a quick lunch, and didn't really fill me up, which I'm pretty confident they'd boo in Philly. It's understandable given the need to pay for lease of the space, but maybe an additional .5-1.0 oz of meat would change my mind.

Josh T.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches best in the Portland area. The only good cheesesteak I've ever had outside Philly

Ashley L.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time for lunch about 10 years ago when I worked in Vancouver. Even after all these years, the philly is just as good as I remember! These are made with the perfect portion of cheese/meat/veggies to bread ratio, hot and fresh, and the ingredients are mixed in a way that gives you the perfect bite every time. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot!

Dameita S.

Yelp
We just had a chicken sandwich and a cheese steak. If you like a lot of sodium in your food, then this is the place for you! I don't think I've ever tasted food that was so salty, EVER!! We won't be eating there again.

Janie M.

Yelp
Very good food! I highly recommend this place!! We visit frequently & are always happy with our food & visit.

Stephen K.

Yelp
Oh, WOW!!!! Philly Bilmos is the real deal!!! The cheesesteaks are utterly outstanding!!! Perfectly-seasoned, perfectly cooked, not a single scrap of fat, served on genuine Amoroso rolls, and just delicious. The fries are perfect, too. Perfectly crispy, and you could tell that the oil was very fresh (no debris, no off flavors). The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you get, too. Don't care for cheesesteaks? Get any of their wonderful other hot or cold sandwiched, mozzarella sticks, or chicken strips. Be sure to get some Tasty Cakes for dessert, too. You really can't beat Philly Bilmos!

Thommy C.

Yelp
Traveling for work during Covid isn't ideal by any means and understandably, everything was only open for take out delivery, so I decided to see what the local Yelp community recommended, in the area I was staying. This is where I found Philly Bilmos. I was a able to place my order for pick-up using Yelp, which as it turned out, was managed through GrubHub. (honestly, I am not a fan of GrubHub, so had I known this was the engine for ordering, I would have called Philly Bilmos direct.) Not even sure if the restaurant team received the tip I gave if the greedy GH team took it - anyway, enough of GrubHub) The order process was easy and within about 30 minutes, my order was ready for pick-up. I arrived, walked up to the counter and waited about 10 minutes for the team to help others, before getting to me. When it was my turn, I checked the to-go bag and luckily noticed I was missing an item. They resolved the error and I was on my way. Upon returning to my hotel, I unwrapped my cheesesteak and was impressed by how large of a sandwich they provide. The bread was great (as expected for a Philly or why bother making one - right?) The meat was plentiful and peppers tasty. The old adage, you get what you pay for is in full effect here. I will tell you, this place isn't the cheapest option, but they give you your monies worth. I would definitely try them again, on my next visit to WA. 4 starts is for the wait time for a to-go order and the near miss on shorting my order. Well worth a visit. I

Gerry O.

Yelp
Doesn't get any better than Bilmo!! Great sandwiches and amazing fries! During lunch it may take about 20 minutes or so but soooo worth it!

Laurel C.

Yelp
I picked up these chubby little cheese steaks as a welcome lunch for some friends who just moved to Vancouver. We are all spoiled now. The sandwiches were hearty and delicious. Plus my friend was in love with the mozzarella sticks and has mentioned them since. I'm sure we will all be back. I'm not sure how authentic these are compared to actual philly cheesesteaks, but I don't care. We are definitely eating these again.

Russell Z.

Yelp
WHY THIS PLACE ONLY GET FOUR STAR AVERAGE, haiyaaaaaaaa Ordered in a rush on DoorDash. Food arrived hot and tasty! Got a Traditional Cheesesteak 16". Was it $20.50, an insane price? Yeah, but compared to the area, what are you going to do, complain? Tell me the next closest place you can get philly cheesesteaks. Exactly. I bet the shop owners know this too, and frankly I share that (hypothetical) sentiment. Also eating out in the PNW just costs more than in other cities like Los Angeles, New York City and.... Yup, Philadelphia. So yeah, I've driven past this place in the past, but I got stuck on a work meeting this morning so I said--Fuck it, let's just DoorDash from this place. And the food was GOOD. I got nervous because the food didn't look sloppy and I expected an angry note from the shop owner for ordering from a meal delivery service instead of calling them up and picking up the food to go, but I swear I was in back-to-back meetings all morning so I just couldn't. So yeah, speaking of cost. I really wanted to tip the staff, and not just the DoorDash driver but the current menu doesn't have a "tip the staff" option-- not sure if DoorDash simply doesn't allow it or if restaurants are allowed to put a "tip the staff" option on the menu but just don't. But, I'm keeping a tab of restaurants that I DoorDash from, so that when I *do* go in, I'll pay upfront any past tips I couldn't make to the staff (read, not the DoorDash driver), due to using a meal delivery service like DoorDash. Anyway, the food is good, yes it's pricey, but suck it up, it's the PNW, you get WAY MORE THAN A FOOT LONG SUB and a FUCKTON of meat and cheese on your sub, AND IT'S NOT BLAND. Eat your food, tip the staff, leave a good review on Yelp and Google Maps, and call it a day. Cheers.

Jason V.

Yelp
Very tasty, but like all cheesesteak establishments in the PNW, far too expensive for what you receive. Even the full size sandwich is going to clock in around $15, which is just too much in my opinion. I used to work for a competitor, and I can whip up something similar at home for a fraction of the price.
