What a fun date night!! We saw an offer for 15% off classes when purchased on Small Business Saturday, so we jumped on the chance to visit. We were torn between a wine or beer pairing class, but we ultimately opted for the beer pairing, namely because it was partnered with Cartesian Brewing, which we love. The school is located in a townhome, so the space is decently small but big enough to house a small class. I love the exposed brick and fun cheese decor (so many cute prints and other on-theme decorations). We were greeted by the owner Julia, who was so kind, welcoming, and just fun - her personality was 10/10 and she is perfectly suited to run this school! Her passion for cheese and sharing that with others was so tangible. There were a few tables set up in the classroom for the attendees - we took the less social route and sat at a table for 2 (it was date night after all). Julia and the brewer from Cartesian (also incredibly knowledgable and passionate about beer) had a great vibe, really working well together and sharing the individual beer and cheese pairings, asking for our opinions, walking through their thoughts, and sharing their stories. JuAll the cheeses were so unique and unlike anything I would pick up for myself in the store! The beers really paired well with each cheese selection too, and the beers themselves were very well done. We learned so much during our class, and also enjoyed our delectable cheeses and beers! We stayed a little longer than other attendees to continue conversations with Julia and the brewer from Cartesian (whose name is escaping me...), which really made for a more personable experience. I would highly recommend the Philly Cheese School for a date night, a group outing with friends, a spot to take your family when visiting, or a private event. We had a great time, and we can't wait to make it back!
