We attended the Beer + Cheese pairing class and absolutely LOVED it! We got to try 4 cheeses and 4 beers along with some extra beers and trivia for prizes at the end! Julia and Claire were AMAZING. This would be so fun for birthdays, double dates, date night, or just something to do! I would love to come back!

My friends and I attended a cheese and tea class here and had a fantastic time. Julia has an extensive knowledge of cheese and an infectious delivery style, making the entire experience both educational and thoroughly enjoyable. The highlight of the class was the unexpected but delicious pairing of yummy cheeses with teas, offering a refreshing alternative to the usual wine pairings.

I'll start by saying that the vibe is great. The booking process could not have been more pleasant and Julia was a delight to email with. Our actual class instructor (Alex I think?) was also delightful, super bubbly, friendly, and clearly passionate about cheese. The place itself is really cute: well designed decor, nicely laid out space. That being said, I do think the "class" left a little to be desired. Maybe I was expecting it to be a bit more of a class (I mean it was called class and was hosted in a school), but it was really more of a tasting. I didn't feel like there was so much learning specifically about the cheeses and most of the gummy pairings (went to the cheese and gummy pairing class) seemed to have been done specifically more on vibe/intuition than anything of educational value. It also seemed like most of whatever education was happening was finished in about 30 minutes with the rest of the time being more of a Q&A, which I did end up learning some from. Ultimately, if you're looking to have some good cheese in an interesting place, this is a good setting but I don't know that I would repay the class price for that. As an educational venue, I do think the place has a ton of potential.

My husband and I loved his birthday wine and cheese class so much that I went back this week with my sister-in-law. She enjoyed it so much that she's going to take more classes (and host family cheese tasting nights!) The instructors, Alex (cheese) and Daniel (wine), could not be more friendly, fun and engaging! The cheese and wine were so tasty and not what we'd do on our own. I would love to try more of their classes this summer.

We did the cheeses tasting class on Friday night, Alex was amazing and so informative. The chesses were ALL so good, the jam was great to pair with the cheese. The setting is perfect for friends and would be great for a work team bonding event. I would just suggest wine glasses .

What a blast! I attended a cheese and potato chip pairing—yum!! I’ll never eat crackers again. Chocolate-covered potato chips with blue cheese on top...holy moly. Julia is fantastic: a wealth of knowledge about all things cheese, and a super dynamic person who is a joy to listen to and learn from. Thanks for a fun and delicious evening!!

Philly Cheese School is the social and educational mecca in Philadelphia and Bella Vista. Julia conducts classes that are the best, and a great place to socialize with friends over wine and cheese. Schedule your event there soon.

Attended a cheese+beer pairing class (90 minutes). Such a welcoming and fun atmosphere. Our hosts were warm and open, keeping the class interesting and entertaining. The selections were thoughtful and properly portioned, including one selection that is now a new favorite cheese. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What a fun date night!! We saw an offer for 15% off classes when purchased on Small Business Saturday, so we jumped on the chance to visit. We were torn between a wine or beer pairing class, but we ultimately opted for the beer pairing, namely because it was partnered with Cartesian Brewing, which we love. The school is located in a townhome, so the space is decently small but big enough to house a small class. I love the exposed brick and fun cheese decor (so many cute prints and other on-theme decorations). We were greeted by the owner Julia, who was so kind, welcoming, and just fun - her personality was 10/10 and she is perfectly suited to run this school! Her passion for cheese and sharing that with others was so tangible. There were a few tables set up in the classroom for the attendees - we took the less social route and sat at a table for 2 (it was date night after all). Julia and the brewer from Cartesian (also incredibly knowledgable and passionate about beer) had a great vibe, really working well together and sharing the individual beer and cheese pairings, asking for our opinions, walking through their thoughts, and sharing their stories. JuAll the cheeses were so unique and unlike anything I would pick up for myself in the store! The beers really paired well with each cheese selection too, and the beers themselves were very well done. We learned so much during our class, and also enjoyed our delectable cheeses and beers! We stayed a little longer than other attendees to continue conversations with Julia and the brewer from Cartesian (whose name is escaping me...), which really made for a more personable experience. I would highly recommend the Philly Cheese School for a date night, a group outing with friends, a spot to take your family when visiting, or a private event. We had a great time, and we can't wait to make it back!

Yelp
We had a great time at the cheese and cookie pairing at the Philly Cheese School! The host was awesome and had so much knowledge to share; we sincerely enjoyed spending some time with her. The space is open but comfortable and also just super cute. If you're looking for a fun date night or activity with friends, I would highly recommend checking out their calendar of classes!

Yelp
Had the opportunity to attend a private event at the woman-owned Philly Cheese School and it was terrific to mix'n'mingle in Julia's bright-yet-cozy and gram-worthy space, to learn about the life of a cheese monger (enviable!), and to be introduced to some new cheeses! If you're a cheese lover, I definitely recommend attending one of Julia's public classes or even booking a private event--meanwhile, I'll go back to dreaming about the Delice de Bourgogne (triple-cream cow's milk) and Ewephoria (sheep) cheeses!

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem- this place deserves to go viral. Julia, the owner is such a delight and was a fantastic host. My friend and I attended the cheese and cereal pairing class a few months ago. My friend was a total skeptic and was annoyed at me for dragging him here.... but within the first 5 minutes of sitting down he was sold. It's such a cute little space and it's BYO which is always a plus. The cheese and cereal pairings were so delicious (even the blue cheese). We actually liked one of the cheeses so much that we ordered two pounds of it online before we left the class. Come here for literally any occasion! Date night, girls night- I feel like it would even make a fun work event.

Yelp
Came here for Cookie and Cheese tasting last week...who knew that would be so fun and actually delicious. Great little space which looks perfect for hosting events (you can have private events here). Julia is the owner and gave us a nice welcome. She is full of energy and keeps the mood jovial with off hand jokes throughout. Before you get down to the tasting she also gives you a brief run down of her life and how she opened the cheese shop, so you feel good supporting the business. We had 4 cheeses and associated cookies to try. A decent serving of each cheese. Don't expect to replace dinner by coming here but its not nothing. I won't give anything away with specifics because the randomness is half the fun in my mind. Its also BYO to boot. It was such a random idea but the pairings were absolutely delicious and completely out of left field. She has a good balance of interaction, teaching about the cheeses, and how to think about pairing. There were only 16 people in the class so it all felt quite intimate. The whole class took about 50min and was well worth it. I've heard about the cereal and cheese classes as well, and just cheese classes and we've already planned on coming back with our friends. Check this place out for sure.

Yelp
Saw this during Industry night at Forsythia. This place offers classes on serving, pairing, and enjoying cheese. This specifically came out of the cheese and cereal pairing class. Both cheeses really paired well with the cereal (never thought I would say that in real life).

Yelp
Can I live here? This women-owned business offers great classes with different and unique themes. The cocktail and cheese pairing class was absolutely fantastic! Julia is so personable and she created an utterly beautiful space in a fun neighborhood (side note-cutest bathroom in Philly). She has an extensive background in the industry and offers high quality domestic and international cheeses. I'm still thinking about the Julianna cheese. This is a great option with good friends, family, or date night!

Yelp
Julia is a gem of a human. With 9 years of knowledge, she led us through a plate of cheese options speaking on history, type, colors, ages, smells, rinds... the whole package. She answered all of our questions with expertise and hilarity. 10/10 would take all of her classes. She also definitely picked out some of the best cheeses I've ever had. Don't forget to BYOB like I did!

Yelp
We had the best time, Julia was an amazing host. Very fun and informative at the same time. Anyone that wants to learn about cheese I can't imagine a better way to do so!!!

Yelp
What an incredible addition to the neighborhood. Julia led us through such a fun and enjoyable event pairing some of her favorite cheeses with beautiful wines from Mural City Cellers. We especially loved her humor and cheesy puns! The whole event felt so informative and engaging and filled with cheese! We can't wait to come back for another night at the Philly Cheese School to further enrich our cheese loving brains and hearts.

Yelp
It took me too long to write this review but I def wanted to share my experience. First of all, Julia is the sweetest and so much fun to have a class with. I attended the lactose free class. I asked her online about having a class with low to no lactose and she delivered! People thought we were friends before this because they couldn't believe a business owner that I didn't know would do a class just because I asked for it. The space is super inviting and set up to be able to socialize but also have room to enjoy drinks and the cheese. It felt like one big group of friends even though I only knew one person there. The cheese choices were delicious and I was able to learn so much about where they came from and what they were good for lactose intolerant people. I would def recommend taking a class if you like learning new things and eating delicious food, all while having a blast. Julia deserves all the success with Philly Cheese School!

Yelp
Went for a friend's birthday a few weeks ago and it was amazing! The owner is incredibly entertaining, the cheeses were delicious, and the things I learned somehow have come up multiple times in conversation since then. It was such a great combination of food and comedy.
